A Christmas tree constructed from stacked books, decorated with ornaments, ribbons, and string lights, inside a bookstore with bookshelves and seating.

What a great little used bookstore. Plenty of titles to choose from. I thought the lounge area with a decorated book tree was a nice and inviting touch. Bonus, they offered free coffee! I will be back to see what else I can discover, and to trade in some old books too.

A snowman figurine wearing a Santa hat and scarf is placed next to a blackboard sign offering free coffee, tea, and cocoa at a colorful, rustic setting.

This is an absolutely adorable bookstore. I found this spot luckily while trying to look for a book. And I was almost going to purchase It at Target or Amazon and decided last minute to see if there were any discount bookstores. I'm glad I searched because this is how I found it. This quaint adorable bookstore. I will start coming here more often.

Pricing - A sign at a bookstore called Ocoee Book Rack displays information about book sales, indicating books are sold at half the original cover price.

In downtown Ocoee, aka one small main street in Ocoee, there are quite a few cute shops and restaurants, with more coming soon. One of those is Ocoee Book Rack, a used book store. The store looks unassuming from the outside but when you step inside, wow... this shop is stuffed to the gills with books, books, and more books. The selection is on floor to ceiling bookshelves and it took me a bit to figure out what the sorting was until I found the painted signs posted here and there. I read Romance and found "regular" Romance books in the Fiction section while Historical Romance had its own section as well as Erotica. There are also separate sections for Sci-Fi, Non-Fiction, Cookbooks, True Crime, Kids, etc. Pricing is simple - you pay half the price of the cover price unless the book is separately marked. There's also a free coffee bar and some fun blind date with a book offerings. And, if you bring in your books that you no longer want, you can get credits to use for purchases.

Cute little place with great deals on books. And I mean GREAT! What would've cost $40 at some high and retailer, cost $7 here.

What sort of books can be donated to the Book Rack? Cookbooks? Design & Decorating? Craft Instruction books?

All of the above. There are even some older editions of textbooks occasionally, but yes, just about any book can be brought to Book Rack

FINALLY had a Saturday off, and I'm so sad I wasn't able to make it out here before now. I also brought a bag of books to sell. The processing for the books I brought took about 30 minutes (it was an IKEA bag FULL, I just needed to transfer to one of their bins). That gave me time to look around and see what they might have. Not all of my books were accepted, which was fine, because the reason this place is so big and yet does such good business is that the books are well currated to ensure that they are desirable. Older books, or less desirable are kept down to one copy, whereas more popular books may have three or four of the same book, but the book is popular enough that it will be sold. Value wise, the rare, signed, and first editions area is VERY reasonably priced. Value for books brought in is given as either cash (I was given a lesser amount this way) or store credit I walked out with a few of the sequels of book series I have the first and maybe second of, but this way I could complete the series for less. I also found a few books on my TBR that were available. Books are indeed at used book prices, not hugely marked up, so overall I considered the visit a huge win. Overall, I guess my complaint is only that this is the only location, and I wish there was a sister store more toward central or even the west side of Orlando.

They also have a lot of CDs, VCR tapes, magazines, and many more items I was unable to explore on this visit. We were on our way to a concert and I had about 30 minutes to look for a few music books, which I found with the staff's help. I have to say that the staff were great and knew exactly where they kept the music books, good job! It's good to know this store has a variety of music books to choose from and for the most part they are organized well, except the ones on the floor. You just have to dig a little. I chose two Faber level III piano books and a Bastien level III piano technique book. The Bastien book was only $2 but it has a lot of notes from previous students. The two Faber books were $6 each and virtually untouched, excellent! Some of the books are on the pricey side, especially some of these old music books, they are asking $20 when the covers are missing and music score is illegible. I just don't see myself spending that much when I can put that $20 towards a brand new book series or Henle Album of exceptional quality. Regardless, I want to support local, and have been very happy with my purchase. I will return again to see what I missed on my previous visit. If you love book stores, this is a good one and definitely worth the stop.

I am very conscious of the prices for everything when I shop in these stores, but I can almost always find something. On this particular visit, I didn't make a purchase, but as usual, they had quite a few food items that I can find at other locations and I keep in mind for when they need arises. I've been really considering a new vacuum cleaner, and I have found some really good deals on them here but my only issue is that every one of them does wet and dry and they are all remanufactured products. That doesn't mean anything is wrong with them, but I am looking for just a regular dry vacuum cleaner. Either way I have to save up the money to get one. I have found quite a few kitchen items that I would find useful, but I just don't have room for at the moment. I always check their book section and quite frequently. I find something worth reading. Like the other locations I have been to. I received a greeting when I came through the front door and multiple employees were pleasant to me and offered assistance as I was shopping. As they have an ever-changing in inventory they are definitely worth checking out on a regular basis.

I appreciated the many hand-written staff recommendations and teasers for books on the shelf, and also the entire section on banned books that described the reason for the banning. Love a store taking a stance for banned books! Overall, I plan to continue supporting independent bookstores instead of the massive, bloated, unethical, late-stage capitalist hellscape that is Amazon. Hope others are tempted to walk in and enjoy the rare little bookshop the way I was when walking around downtown Winter Garden!
