I've been here twice and I'm very impressed with the collection of books as well as the owner/manager of the bookstore. Is a place to restore one's sense of place and love of Humanity. Plan to come by with either having a good book or buying a good book and have a coffee or tea and sit and enjoy the beautiful ambience. My best friend and I went on a quest to find bookstores we have not visited before. I saw this one on someone's instagram stories and was intrigued. First, they have a lot of books. When I first walked in I wasn't even sure where to begin but it was great to be able to browse and see their extensive collection. Staff is very friendly and let us know that they curate their books from donations. If you donate your books to them, they create an account where you can have a credit on file to use. As someone, that occasionally does donate books, this is fantastic news! Additionally, all of their books unless otherwise stated are half off the cover value which is incredible and affordable! The Book Rack in downtown Ocoee is not only a great place to shop for used books; it's also a great place to bring in any of your own used books for credit. You're not only decluttering your house, but you're helping out a small local business. With every book you bring in, you receive credit toward future purchases. I already have more credit than I'll probably ever use, but I'm happy that my previously read books are going to a good home. The store has a pretty decent used book selection with floor-to-ceiling shelving (and also some graphic novels, CDs, and DVDs). It's always hit-or-miss, so each time I go; I never know what I'll find. There's also a little sitting area with coffee or hot cocoa, if you so desire. How much are the used books? They're half off the cover price. How does the credit work? You get an additional half off the half-off price. So if a book has a cover price of $8, the store sells the book for $4. I can use my credit balance for an additional $2 off (half of the $4), leaving the book at a total of $2. There are also some $1 books on a rack outside the store. Book stores are becoming a thing of the past, and used bookstores are even fewer and farther between! This spot isn't just a used bookstore, it's a little oasis of warmth and neighborhood love. You can tell it is nestled in an up and coming spot, and I know they recently had a HUGE increase in rent, but I hope the land lords don't continue their current path of greed by increasing it again! Although this spot is my new fave and loved by the community, it is NOT a machine created for accumulating wealth! I highly recommend you carve out some free time to check this spot out! They even have a little spot where you and a few friends can enjoy your books with some nice tea or coffee. Always a favorite spot! Cozy little sitting area in front used often by book clubs, fantastic selection of used books, including a small selection of hardbacks that are $1 on a rack that is generally outside to gain attention. I've been able to leave requests for specific books I'm looking for and they have called when one comes in. I have a lot of credit with them, as I bring books in that I don't want keep in my personal collection and I can get most titles for essentially 75% off (using credit for 1/2 off, on top of the usual price for the books being 1/2 off cover price....). I recommend this store highly, between the friendly staff, huge selection that is well organized and coziness. read more

In downtown Ocoee, aka one small main street in Ocoee, there are quite a few cute shops and restaurants, with more coming soon. One of those is Ocoee Book Rack, a used book store. The store looks unassuming from the outside but when you step inside, wow... this shop is stuffed to the gills with books, books, and more books. The selection is on floor to ceiling bookshelves and it took me a bit to figure out what the sorting was until I found the painted signs posted here and there. I read Romance and found "regular" Romance books in the Fiction section while Historical Romance had its own section as well as Erotica. There are also separate sections for Sci-Fi, Non-Fiction, Cookbooks, True Crime, Kids, etc. Pricing is simple - you pay half the price of the cover price unless the book is separately marked. There's also a free coffee bar and some fun blind date with a book offerings. And, if you bring in your books that you no longer want, you can get credits to use for purchases. read more

Stopped by this quaint bookstore because my husband has been looking for hardback Stephen King books. As soon as I walked in, a very polite young lady and her adorable dog greeted me. She explained their pricing, QR codes, book drop off service, and offered tea and coffee. She also walked around the shop the entire time we were there, offering assistance to all who were in the store. While my husband didn't find the books he was looking for, we did purchase a couple. The store is a little cramped for aisle space but ll the books are neatly shelved and well presented. I personally didn't find anything to add to my bookshelf this trip but if we come back to Orlando, we'll definitely stop by for the welcoming personality at the door. read more

As far as used bookstores go, I thought this location was a bit pricey. While they had some hardcovers outside for 25 cents, the rest of their books are half off the cover price. Maybe I'm spoiled with other bookshops that sell their used books for super cheap, but I couldn't bring myself to spend half price on a used book. They do have a trade in program that one of their volunteers tried explaining to me, but since she wasn't wearing a mask during a pandemic while the county has a masks required ordinance, I was more concerned with getting away from her than listening, but it seems like you can accrue a dollar value for the books you bring in, but can only apply it to half of the book price (so you still have to pay 25% of the cover price, which is a lot more reasonable to me) That being said, there is quite the selection here, and all of the books seemed to be in good condition. No one is taking the pandemic seriously though. The volunteer on the floor wasn't wearing a mask at all, and the lady at the register had hers around her chin, with her nose and mouth exposed. The bookstore is tiny and cramped, and there is no way to social distance in there. I will definitely be staying away until there is a vaccine, because that place looks like a disaster waiting to happen. read more

Located in the old town part of Ocoee, this is a pretty average used bookstore. For such a small space there sure is a lot of books - and I believe there may be more hidden gems and goodies in the boxes piled on the ground than on the shelves actually! I am all for scavenging through books - but you would need several hours just to make a dent in this collection. I found a few items that I was interested in - and others that I may snag on a return visit, but some of the collection seems very dated and could use some fine tuning. There is a HUGE collection of romance novels that took up way too much of the prime shelf real estate. The books are decently organized (somewhat grouped), but expect to do some digging and to knock a few stacks over. For those looking for older, hardcover classics - they are behind the check-out area. The owner mentioned she was trying to sell the place, and if not, might have to close up by the end of October, so -- there may be some big sales coming in a few weeks! Current prices are about 50% of normal retail price. read more

If you like to just wander through books at random then you will enjoy this little, used book store. The books are placed within general sections i.e. romance, new arrivals, science fiction, children's, biographies etc but that is as organized as it gets. Within each section the titles and authors are random except maybe for some of the more popular sections like romance. Besides the over packed shelves the place is busting at the gills with boxes of unsorted books. It's in a cute little section of downtown Ocoee located on a brick street adding to the ambiance. The owner is very friendly and will help you find a book if she thinks she has it in stock. The books are reasonably priced - usually half the cover price.
