Kept trying to come here on Sunday- they're closed, but it kept being the only day I would have a chance to go. FINALLY had a Saturday off, and I'm so sad I wasn't able to make it out here before now. I also brought a bag of books to sell. The processing for the books I brought took about 30 minutes (it was an IKEA bag FULL, I just needed to transfer to one of their bins). That gave me time to look around and see what they might have. Not all of my books were accepted, which was fine, because the reason this place is so big and yet does such good business is that the books are well currated to ensure that they are desirable. Older books, or less desirable are kept down to one copy, whereas more popular books may have three or four of the same book, but the book is popular enough that it will be sold. Value wise, the rare, signed, and first editions area is VERY reasonably priced. Value for books brought in is given as either cash (I was given a lesser amount this way) or store credit I walked out with a few of the sequels of book series I have the first and maybe second of, but this way I could complete the series for less. I also found a few books on my TBR that were available. Books are indeed at used book prices, not hugely marked up, so overall I considered the visit a huge win. Overall, I guess my complaint is only that this is the only location, and I wish there was a sister store more toward central or even the west side of Orlando. read more

Brightlight Books in is one if my favorite used bookstores in the area. The team is always so kind and helpful and the selection of books, games and movies is diverse and they even have decent selection of newer titles. The prices are also very reasonable and I feel like I receive a fair credit for books I bring to them for resale. I highly recommend supporting this business! read more

I grew up coming here getting my required reading books at amazingly discounted rates. The store is owned by the Hubers and their son, Sam, went to Lyman & still works here. It's been years since I've come back and the store has doubled their space which is incredible!! Books at SUCH good prices and always the clearance racks outside. You can get vinyls, dvds, and even pokemon cards!! Something for everyone. Definitely support small business and save yourself some money while you're at it. So happy to see them grow! read more

I've recently been into visiting bookstores to find old hidden gems to read. I'm from out of state so I decided to stop by this bookstore to see what I can find. My first impression of this bookstore is that it reminds me of Book Off. Great place to find used books and movies. I wish their selection of video games was larger. This place has a larger selection of books though. Very well organized. They had a larger selection of the books I enjoy reading. Staff were very friendly and the books that I bought were about half off of what new books cost. Would highly recommend checking this place out. read more

I thought this was a strictly religious bookstore until I looked up places that do resale - and I was pleasantly surprised that this place does it all and is a true gem in our community! They have new and used books for sale, as well as special copies, board games, puzzles, records, and DVDs. And they buy and sell all of it! The place is huge inside (much larger than it looks from the front), and if you sell things to them you can either get cash or store credit (you do get slightly more bang for your buck if you choose store credit). Their pricing can be a bit inconsistent. I once found two identical special editions priced quite differently. My friend and I both wanted one so we asked about it and they would not price match the higher one to the lower one even though they agreed there was no difference. HOWEVER, this still might be the best used bookstore in Orlando. Love the selection of signed and special editions. Also love their buying program for books you no longer you want! I have tried a few different ones and theirs is the best. read more

My whole family loves this store! There is a massive selection of books, movies, records, games, graphic novels, and so much more. Everything we've looked at seems to be reasonably priced. We've had good luck selling items - the employees offer reasonable prices and we always take advantage of the option for store credit. I've never walked out of there disappointed! read more

Spent a while in there looking and while I didn't buy anything it was a great store to visit! I'm a history buff so I enjoyed that section along with the older books they have for sale, some hundreds of years old. I do wish they had a bit more of that, BUT that store is packed with something for everyone. My husband bought a collectors edition movie that completed his set so he was thrilled! This is definitely my favorite book store I've been to in a while. It's amazingly well organized, spacious, reasonably priced, and has a wide variety of genres. You can even find board games and puzzles, vinyls, manga, and dvds! I easily spent an hour just wandering and exploring all the options. Also, the trade in program is very generous. With store credit, it never expires and can be used for 100% of the purchase. You can also trade in books for cash value, but it a lesser dollar amount compared to what you'd get with store credit. Wow! Just wow. Didn't think I would find such a great bookstore here in the Orlando area but I did! Brightlight is huge with a wide selection of genres to choose from. I've been coming here for years and I absolutely love this location. Brightlight books has a great selection of used books. They even have signed copies and first additions. Everything is cheaper than you could find it at other stores. You can even sell/donate your old books. We took 2 boxes of books to sell/donate last night and you can either get cash or in-store credit. They only had one buyer on shift so it took a long time. The man who helped us was nice, but over explained everything to the point where it just prolonged what should have been a simple exchange and purchase. Definitely be prepared to have a couple hours to spend here. It's a great resource and I'm really happy with everything I buy there. read more

As a new avid reader, I was slightly timid to go to a bookstore but I wanted to sell some of my items and a friend recommended BrightLight. I am so glad I listened to her! I was immediately greeted as I walked through the door. The process of selling the books was clearly explained and I was able to sell items/get 40% of the total in store credit. As she analyzed my items, I browsed the sections and found 3 books which cannot be found at the library. The wait time for reselling books was just the amount of time I needed to find my new reads (about 15 minutes). The checkout was speedy and the store credit that is left over, is saved for my next visit! I will be back to resell/get my next set of books. read more

I went to this store on a rainy morning while visiting family in Orlando. There's a clearance section out front with several shelves of books for $1 each (or 7 for $5). I was surprised by the amount of food options out there and it took a lot of internal bargaining to narrow down my selection to 8 books. When I went inside, I was even more impressed. There were several long rows of books, organized by genre and alphabetized by author. I really enjoyed pursuing through the shelves and finding new books and authors to look into in the future. I settled on one boom from inside, taking into account the amount of space I had in my suitcase as I am flying home. I definitely recommend this store to anyone who loves reading and searching for new finds. I could easily have spent more time in here and I'm excited to read my finds. Overall, the books I selected are about $80-$100 on Amazon. The gentleman who checked me out as I left was also very friendly. read more

Now considered a throw-back, this family-owned brick and mortar store is must stop for those who love a good deal in used and sometimes new literature (real books!), CD's (yes! -hard to believe), DVD's, and more. The store layout is atypical (and that is what adds to its appeal IMHO). As you enter, you will be harkened back to your days when you visited the library due to all the book cases filled with books. To your immediate right are the used CD and DVD selections. If you don't stream everything, you will find a deal. The books are organized by genre and if you cannot find what you are looking for, just ask one of the employees. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Should you have any boxes of old books, CDs or DVDs in your basement or attic (wait, we live in Florida. No one has an attic or basement) and want to get rid of them, take them to Brightlight to see if/what they might buy from you. You can take cash or store credit. If you're a book nerd, the last option is the way to go. Lastly look online for their periodic Overstock sales. When you're in the area, stop by this gem. read more

3rd time I've had to instantly return a 4k UHD movie. They lock them in hard plastic boxes, sell them to you, and it's missing the 4k disk. Only has the blu ray. Then they make you wait in a long line to return it. This is the 3rd time. Deserves a review. read more

There is little else I love more than books. This place is not just a book lovers paradise, but also a bargain hunters paradise! We've passed this location several times on the way to various things, and always said we'd stop in. Boy were we glad we finally did! Outside they had a few carts filled with clearance one dollar books. The deal got even sweeter with a 7 for 5 dollar deal on top ood the already great one dollar price tag. We grabbed up several hardback for his mom and two for mine. Inside they have more books, but also CDs and DVDs. I got a couple of used DVDs each at less than 5 dollars a piece. Hubs found several books to add to our home library. Staff was really friendly and the store was well organized with clear signage. It was easy to shop around and get lost in the shelves. Overall: A+ Cannot wait to go back and get some more books to keep growing our library! read more
