I like this store. It's cozy, it's magical, it's full of stock, and there is a Starbucks coffee shop. Not to mention that there is a literal entrance straight to the parking lot. The books they sell here are wonderful. You can even buy table games, puzzles, toys, plushies and even legos. There is a kids area that has baby, toddler, and younger kids' books as well as a small stage were your kids can tell stories or even play an act. The bathrooms in this place are kept up well too. I recommend this place. It should be appreciated more. read more

I took my son to the Barnes & Noble at Altamonte Mall and was pleasantly surprised by their kids area and great selection of children's books. I love that they have a dedicated section for kids to play and explore including toys, puppets, and more. He absolutely loves books and had a blast running around, picking out books and sitting at the little table to flip through them. Also, bonus points for having a convenient changing table inside a large bathroom stall that was big enough to fit my stroller inside. Super helpful for mamas who are on their own with their kiddos and don't want to have to abandon their stroller to use the restroom/do diapers changes. Glad to see this location is going strong after so many have closed. There's something so comforting and nostalgic about B&N and I always enjoy my time there. They also do a weekly storytime for the kids every Sunday at 2pm! read more

This Barnes & Noble is attached to the mall. They have a shared parking lot and it can't be tough to find parking this farm and Noble is equipped with a bathroom and a café, which is Starbucks brand. I will say the café has plenty of deals. Like buy a café item get a holiday book for five dollars. This Barnes & Noble has so many different options if you're not able to find something in store one of the associates who are usually always very happy to help you find the book you're looking for will help you get it ordered and shipped to you customer service is always pretty decent. Sometimes it is hard to find an associate then you just go to the cash register. read more

The store has an entrance right from the parking lot. You can go into the mall and shop around from there. And they have a coffee shop in store. I like how they're organized with the kids section, biographies, toy section, etc. They have a summer reading challenge for kids so you can go in and grab a free book from their list for reading a certain number of books. read more

I've been going to this location for years and years. Im a very good customer. But unfortunately, the people who now work there lately are very shady. Last month, I asked a girl to help me get a book in the store because it said online that they had it 'in store' -- She walked over to the thrillers section and claimed they didn't have it but then I went online and reserved it to be picked up in store the next day. It WAS there all along. Why did she lie? And this month, I asked a girl to order a book for me in store. She claim she did, but gave me no receipt or paper confirming so. Two weeks have passed. I asked about it in store and the girl claimed it was shipped to the store. I called now and a girl put me on hold and hung up on me flat out. I call again and a guy took the phone, claims the publisher hasn't responded. So its several lies going on. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think it's a store with a lot of good book options but if they have a bunch of their staff (gen z/millenials) discriminating a person for who knows why, a loyal customer!Then, what's the point of having a nice store with terrible customer service? read more

Met a friend here for some book discussions and coffee. For being attached to the mall I feel like it could get messy pretty fast with the younger kids around but overall it was organized and seemed clean. I did see workers restocking books and moving out of place books back to their spots. The lady checking me out did give me some attitude about my possible b&n acct which I guess I didn't have but oh well... they had a great selection for books but I did find a few on my list that were not available so if you can't find it, I would check the website because just browsing the shelves can get a little over whelming. Service was terrible. I didnt even get anything from barns n noble I went to get a coffee for my mom on mother's day. There was a guy and a lady working there. The lady that was working the starbucks was extremely rude and didn't have the nicest look on her face. I asked for my drink to be double cup so it would stay hot and the guy that was making the coffees accidentally made two coffees I asked if they were my order to clarify since I had only ordered one and not two. The lady had told me oh just the one is yours and took the other one and dumped it down the drain. Then she proceeded to berate her coworker, the guy who made the two drinks by accident. Just super unpleasant experience and I was not happy that the lady working there she was wasteful and rude. read more

Small and not a huge selection. Unfortunately, thanks to eBooks, this is what is becoming if bookstores. While I can't give the store more stars, I'm still elated to have a bookstore so close to home! My husband and I were in the store walking around and browsing for approximately 10-15 minutes. The store was clean and well-organized. Staff were wearing masks. There was hand sanitizer available for both employees and guests. There is, of course, a Starbucks. I wanted to get a cup of coffee, but couldn't find a ramp or an employee. Admittedly, I was a bit annoyed. Later, I called and spoke with the assistant manager, Gregory, and he was extremely friendly - I could hear him smiling through the phone. He let me know there is indeed a ramp around to the side, but he even said he is aware is difficult to find unless you know where it is. He apologized profusely for no one assisting me. Gosh, I wish I could find wonderful customer service like that in every store. We definitely need more Gregory's! He even welcomed me to the area (since we recently moved here) and offered me a cup of coffee the next time I come in. I really am happy the bookstore is still here. There's just nothing like picking up an actual book from a shelf and opening it! read more

I was surprised and pleased to learn that book stores are essential businesses and can remain open during COVID-19. My daughter needed a study book and luckily it was in stock at Barnes & Noble. I called ahead to see if they were offering curb side assistance and learned that it was pretty much business as usual. Although they did modify their hours and expect all customers to respectfully comply with social distancing. The store is impeccably clean and very organized. There were several people shopping but not enough to cause customers to group together. The cashier was pleasant and I was in and out of the store quickly. read more

Bookstores: difficult to find these days in most cities since the days of the e-reader and the push for learning to be online. Barnes & Noble has been around for a long time and I am impressed that many of them have stayed alive. This location is always busy being inside the Altamonte Mall. There is a Starbucks inside the bookstore which is a plus and I think drives a lot of the traffic here. The line can get crazy. On my last visit, it took a long time to get my coffee and it was incorrect. Once I realized this, I had waited in line so long that I didn't want to go back and wait for it to be corrected. There was only one staff working at the time. Bathrooms here are not the cleanest. You may be better off going to one of the department stores. Three stars for a great selection of books and media anyway! read more

I like walking thought the isles, picking up books that strike my interest with my own hands, and having the experience to buy them personally. It is also amazing to see books that I already own and have read, on shelves. The service at this Barnes and Nobles is like no other, the staff is friendly and will always look to satisfy your requests. The Starbucks baristas are super energetic and joyful and always get your order correct and quickly done. The store itself is neat and clean and the books are all extremedy well organized. Since book store chains are this or Books a Million, I have to say I prefer the Barnes chain. Depending on the day it can be a pleasant experience or a bit more challenging. Usually, the store is in good shape and well organized and they are staffed well. Nice that you can shop for Toys, Games, Collectibles as well as magazines but I just wish the prices were a bit more competitive. The cafe and bathrooms are usually in need of attention but the store should suit your needs just fine. read more

We could get lost in here forever. I like this location because it's a great place to grab a coffee, find a good book and relax. The options in the discount section are always fun to see and almost always I end up getting something. Honestly neither myself nor my husband should be allowed in a book store cause we'll be in there forever and spend more money than we should. Staff here is pretty hard to find, which is why I knocked a star off. Short of the barista and front end cashier, you most likely won't find help. I come to this Barnes & Noble every so order to study and read comic books and get coffee drinks from the cafe. This is actually the biggest Barnes & Noble in the area, I think. The sections are vast and expansive. There is plenty of room for the board games, big comfy couches, and trays of clearance products. I actually got a boatload of clearance merch from this place for Christmas one year. If you strategize it right, you can land all of it at like 50% off. Wonderful. The cafe itself is very nice. It's right in the middle of the store up a few steps like a concert stage where you have a good view of most of the story. The baristas are very friendly and very quick to make delicious recommendations. You can grab a coffee, grab a book, and just read some stuff all day long. Overall, this place is great. Come here if you're in the area and you want to support the great art form of words on paper. read more

It's rare these days to find a bookstore, let alone one in a mall when both are fast becoming extinct. But I love this store, I love that afterwards I can walk out and hop over to the food court and grab a bight, then walk down to JC Penny and look around then back up to Barnes and Noble to buy the book I had to think about buying. What's better is it allows us to enter the store from outside of the mall or inside of the mall, 2 entrances making it super convenient. They have a small coffee shop inside that you smell immediately upon walking in makes it feel like the ultimate bookstore experience. Free Wifi and you are good to go for any web browsing. A children's section also for the little readers in your life. The store was clean and I was asked more than once if I needed any assistance. Great service and quick checkout. read more

I'm a B & N junkie, and this location in particular is pretty awesome. Love the way the store is set up and that there is usually plenty of seating. Staff is courteous too, today while I was browsing, the song that came on completely got my attention as I recognized instantly it was from the Opera Bizet's "Carmen" but in this rendition the star instrument was the accordion being accompanied by an Orchestra. I went in immediately to the music section and asked the girl and she kindly handed me the CD, an artist I haven't heard of: "Martynas" I've since checked out his music and am hooked, it's not the first time I've found out about amazing artists in this way. Oh, and don't forget to check out the latest and greatest news about all your favorite heart throb stars in the magazine section; if anything, it'll give rise to a hearty laugh at some of the stuff you come across. read more

Being able to wander around searching the paperbacks, hardcover, magazines and other items such as Funko dolls and cards all through out the Barnes and Noble means you can be there for hours when you're a book lover like me. I like how they have a few chairs here and there for folks to use. There are some really classic books offered in hardcover for just $25 such as the compilation of William Shakespeare, HP Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe and many others which I need to begin stocking up on. read more

Nice small B&N in the mall. It is the only place for Starbucks coffee in the mall as well. The magazines are located at the mall side of the store and the coffee shop in the middle so you do have pick a few items if you are going to sit and read while reading a magazine. The staff is always nice and the selection of books and magazines are good. I have been to some really great and much larger B&N's so thus only 3 stars for this smaller version. read more

Since this is the only bookstore left on my side of town, I suppose I have to be a fan. Otherwise, where else would I go as an avid book lover. Have to admit, I definitely enjoyed going to Borders more. Less crowded with a bigger selection of books to choose from. This is definitely a good location in terms of convenience since it's situated in the mall but it does make parking a bit difficult since you better be willing to hike it. Good luck finding a close parking spot. The "Starbucks" definitely leaves a lot to be desired and if you're a true Starbucks fan, I don't recommend getting your coffee here. However, it does seem like they have broaden their selection on business books which definitely makes me happier. :) read more

This location is my go to spot for a relaxing morning. I go straight for the Starbucks inside and then get lost in the joy of finding something to read. Maybe I discover a new author, or a great book on sale. I also love the kids book area. Colorful and comfy, my kids love coming here. The books are always neat easy to find. Seating areas are great too. I love coming here for gifts too. Journals, stationary, toys, cool games. I always find something cool. Staff is always super friendly and very helpful. If you decide to grab a cup of coffee, dont get scared of by the long Starbucks line. They move super fast and will get your order to you in no time. read more

Traditional book stores are slowly dying out & this location is hanging on. It has a decent selection of children's books & children specific sitting areas. The magazine area also has a good selection alongside area specific benches to sit. Outside of the cafe area that has cafe sitting & carries Starbucks & sweets, the store has limited sitting options. The store also has limited electrical plugs in general. I counted 3 all in the cafe section so I wouldn't recommend it as a study space. As for the merchandise it's a limited book selection with average customer service. They can however order books online & deceiver to the store should they not have it on hand. I honestly skip it & but elsewhere. read more

My daughter loves the kids' area where you can find toys and books. It is in the mall so once you're done there you are just a short walk from more shopping and a food court. I love book stores. I also love coffee. Alas, this Barnes & Noble has the worst Cafe I have ever encountered. While my husband was waiting at the Apple store I decided to take the kids down to the Barnes & Noble for drinks. We ordered two lattes, a frappucino, and a couple cookies. There was a very long line and a long wait for the drinks to be prepared, but it was better than waiting at Apple. While I was waiting for my drink an elderly gentleman received his venti frappucino. He asked the barista for an extra cup so he could split it with his wife. The barista was pretty rude with him, telling him no and that if he'd received cups in the past the employees were not supposed to do that. The old man argued a little bit but gave up and purchased a second cup from the cashier. Anyway, I received my drinks, we regrouped with my husband and we departed the mall. My husband didn't try his drink until we were on 436, and he said that it tasted really watered down. I tried it and it in fact tasted like watery milk and not much coffee (it should have been a caramel macchiato). I told him about our experience in the store with the old man not getting a cup, and in an effort to fight injustice he turned around and drove back to the mall. When we returned to B&N the rude barista from earlier, Maria, was at the cashier. My husband went up to her and explained that the drink didn't taste right and was watered down and he wanted a replacement. She asked for our receipt and I gave it to her. She looked at it and said the drink was from an hour ago. We replied that he had just now had the chance to try it and we had to drive back, but typically coffee drinks don't get weaker over time. (And it was really closer to 45 minutes, but whatever.) Anyway, she said they would replace it this time, but was acting like we were coffee scammers or something. She then proceeded to apologize loudly to the next several guests line for the interruption (she did not apologize to us). I will not return to this store. If I'm having a bad night and need to get out of the house but still be left alone, this is where I go. My only gripes are that this a standard corporate book store, so there's not much depth to the selection; because it's attached to the mall it is flooded with noisy teens and loud children between 8 and 9pm; and there are no squishy comfy chairs to chill out in to make sure you got the right book. But otherwise, the coffee is good, it's well organized, the staff is friendly and helpful, it's open til 11:00, and they put up with me when I'm in my worst mood. ;) read more

They have movies with a large selection of Criterion discs which are rare but significant films that have been chosen to be restored and preserved. I've been a B&N junkie ever since I picked up my nook. Somehow, my eReader made me love old-school books just that much more. I splurged for the $20 membership that gets me an extra 10% off everything in store and free shipping with no minimum online - can't beat that. Plus they always have coupons and specials and everything. I never pay anything near full price! So I've been to four other B&N stores in the area, and one in Palm Beach Gardens, and this is definitely the nicest (with the Palm Beach Gardens one giving it a run for its money)! read more

Clean. Easily accessible. Good location. Friendly staff who is always a BIG help. Coffee shop! I love books, but now that I have my KINDLE, that I love even more, I don't spend much time in the book stores anymore. I do like to go here after a nice dinner out with the hubby though; we often grab a coffee in the cafe, peruse the books and magazines, almost always make a purchase and just enjoy the quiet time. It's a nice way to end the evening and is in close proximity to several good eats ... Elephant Bar, Bahama Breeze, Ale House, Chili's, Hana Sushi, Phat Thai, Jason's Deli, Cafe Muranos ... location, location, location! Kudos to the the helpful staff.
