I was generally satisfied with this business a few years ago. Their staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The only thing that initially bothered me was having to pay for the catalog every month as my previous comic shop had always given it to me for free. I literally bought a couple hundred dollars worth of merchandise there. Then I lost my job and although I made it clear to at least two employees that i would purchase the remainder of my "subscription service" books as soon as I could for some reason when I next returned to the store i was told the owner had instructed the employees to put my books back on the shelf. That experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Was there a problem in communication between the employees and the owner? Had the owner actually received my message? had this been done so that when I returned I would not only be inconvenienced by having to hunt for all my books again but would have to pay higher prices for some of the hotter issues? I had no clue. All I knew for a fact was that I have lived without their products for some time and could obviously live without them in the future as well. This would have never happened in the store which I used to shop because the staff was always on top of unusual situations. Up that point, I had decided to remain a steady customer of course. So, bottom line, it was not having to pay for the catalog that cost them a great customer but perhaps poor communication or a poor management decision. read more

Came in to get the new astonishing men #50 where north star proposes to his boyfriend. They had a good amount on the shelf. I'm assuming the wedding issue will be less available. Anywho as a store, TONS of comics. When i have more disposable income I'm gonna have to buy some less known comics. Well organized. I got there at 12pm and they open at 11am so it was dead. Just me and the man behind the register. He said hi as I came in and left me to my own. Which I don't mind since I usually know what i want and if I really wanted to ask him questions I'm sure he'd be willing to help. But i like to browse without the sells person hovering. The prices are at cover price and some items on the back wall were on sale. They take cash and card, but if you use card its a $10min purchase which means you get at least two comics!! When i first called the day before and asked if they had the comic I was looking for, the man on the other phone said yes. Then I asked him how much and he said it should be cover price (a little matter of factly that put me off) but then after a brief pause he caught himself and said $3.99. Glad I didn't need to follow up with how much. I'm assuming he realized not everyone k own the various prices of each comic. So i won't knock down stars for that brief encounter since (I'm assuming he was the guy in the store) seemed a tad more pleasant in person). I don't think they have comics before the 90's. They had an alpha flight from back then but i think most of their comics in the bin are from the early 2000's. But i didn't spend much time looking since I would be torturing myself lol oh and its a small store inside and is located next to a paintball store. *I don't know what store is in the photos attached to this yelp, buy it DEFINITELY is not comic madness in Chino. read more

Seriously the nicest and most accommodating staff my boyfriend and I have ever encountered. Excellent selection of Bronze Age & a good selection of Silver Age comics to fill in those gaps in your collection and always a good amount of the new releases. Looking for something special? This is one of the best shops I have been to, and trust me I have been to a lot with so many closing. The shop is small but has all the necessary items. The shop has a good assortment of comics new and old. They do not stock a lot of Silver and Gold Age items. New comics come in every Wednesday unless there is a Holiday. If you are a regular costumer there is a pull list that offer a slight discount. The staff is has always been very helpful to me and willing to do special orders when asked. THIS PLACE IS KING. Wall to wall w/ comics. The staff is super informative on comics. If your a Marvel geek, then talk to Enrique, he knows ALL when it comes to Marvel. If you fell behind in comics, no worries. They have tons of trade paperbacks w/ several comic books in one big book. New releases every week to keep your fix satisfied. Happy Batman Day! I am somewhat new to comics and local comic book shops. So, Batman Day was a great excuse to go out and explore. Overall experience, great! I got my Batman Day comic, saw that they had lots and lots of variant covers available for purchase and the attending staff member was friendly and helpful. He helped me find an indy comic that I have been meaning to pick up. I apologize for not being very chatty, my lunch break isn't very long... Anyhow, you haven't had a chance to go to a real comic book store, it's highly recommended. You'd might be surprise with what you find. read more

Not a vary spacious shop with little glitz and glamor. It's a small shop but good to pick up new issues if you're passing through. The dozen or so times that I visited the shop there has rarely been any customers. The display for the shop is out of wack and can be confusing were the new issues and last weeks start and begin. There's also a nice large carpet for you to trip on, and if you're a comic geek it's a safe bet that you're not very coordinated. read more

Great place. I found it when my friend wanted to buy a comic book. This was the nearest place by my friends home so we went there. I received great service and the selection is plentiful. They carry regular issues for the average reader and variant versions for the collectors. I've visited this place 3 times now and I get nothing but friendly service. read more

its a small store but there are very friendly people here to help you find what you're looking for. If they don't have what you are looking for they will definitely help you out and check their stock over at Frank n Sons booth as well. Looking for Doctor who comics the employees were really helpful getting me the comics I was looking for. Not only is this place pretty chill there is a great Italian place next door and an Argentina food place with bomb ass empanadas so the comic madness is surrounded by good food madness too. Its a great little shop for anyone who loves comics. It might not be Golden Apple, but its a great spot to pick up your weekly comics. They do have a good selection of older stuff as well. read more

These guys are super friendly and knowledgeable. Not a big place but that makes it feel more like a place for actual comic readers, not the random hipster who is just looking to show off his collection. I have tried going to other shops prior but they don't compare to here. If you're looking to get in and out quickly, good luck, you always end up talking to either the staff or random customer deeply about any random topic. Very nice, very good comic shop. There is a previous complaint about a the shop not being very big. Oh well...I wouldnt want to live there but its a great place to shop. Nice, chill employees makes it a nice stress free place to shop. I was really surprised by their prices of hard to find variants as they are cheaper here than anywhere Ive seen online or a real store. I would drive farther past a few other shops in order to shop weekly here. Its mostly comic based, if you are looking for tshirts or action figures you may not be satisfied but if you are a comic lover you will love this place. read more

My wife and kids went there for me for Avengers vs X Men 1 because I had a late shift on the night it came out. The comics were 3.99 each, even the variant cover price was 3.99, but they charged 5.99, 50% mark up on the day it comes out? Totally Aweful. read more

Even if I like something, I would not even spend ONE penny in this store. Stopped by this store with my sister while I waited for my food. We didn't even get greeted by the heavyweight employee behind the counter. He had a grumpy face on. No smiles and didn't even bother asking if we were looking for something in specific the whole time we were there. I made eye contact with him like three times and he had a really bad face on. My sister was asking me in front of him if they had any zombie comics and he replied in a really cold and dry manner. If you're going to be working as a customer sales representative in ANY store you should NOT be allowed to have any kind of attitude. You're suppose to be a people's person. Instead this guy makes you angry to be there. You're already horrible to look at for obvious HUMONGOUS apparent physical reasons...why do you have to make your attitude match your outside?? If you're that unhappy to be there then don't work there!! Or if you're just unhappy with yourself, I'll give you the number for my plastic surgeon... The place does have decent amount of comic selection, but I would not spend a penny there. They don't deserve it. read more

This store is awesome sick!!!! First off I would like to talk about the customer service. Fantastic! You can call in to see if the store has a certain comic book your looking for and they will actually go look for and pull it if they have it. How many places do that? I go in there a lot and everytime I happen to observe a customer being a ass or asking a stupid stupid (some question just are, especially when your being a idiot) question the store clerks don't act rude or try to act superior, no they answer the best they can and accomadate the best they can. Where else can you go that has that in a comic book store. You never feel intimidated to ask questions. You know when you go into a store and the employees are just talking to one of their friends and you feel like you cant get help or interrupt. Nope, not there. For the most part if their talking about something they usually include the customer in the conversation to get another point of view which makes you feel welcomed and not just a consumer but a friend. Thats important and i bet you just made a new friend because of it. They also have a great collection of vintage and variant comics. I love the fact that they have a dollar bin. And not just any dollar bin, a dollar bin that ranges from a-z. Another great point is that they are organized. It's so nice to walk in and be able to find what you are looking for with confusion and have to ask (which is fine too). Another great point is they don't have the place swarmed with card players that take up all the room. Not that there is anything wrong with card players because I play cards but there are other places where they have tables in the middle of the store and you cant get by because the card players have their chairs out to far or they are so animated you don't feel comfortable being in the store. Another great point is the sales they have and they have a pull list you can sign up for. Sick! But i think the most important fact is that the store doesnt have that dying look like a lot do. You know when you walk in and the lights are from the sixties, the dude behind the counter is a thousand and he talks way to much about things you don't care about. Hell, if you do care about what the dude has to say he takes it way to far and goes on a tangent and your stuck nodding your head in compliance while your thinking "shit i hate this store, I wish there was a better store to go to". They also have the biggest booth and Frank and Sons which is convenient if your there or you cant find a book at the shop. No I do not work at the store, I just feel that this store is awesome and doesn't enough credit. My all time favorite thing is the customer service though. It's refreshing to go in there after work and just browse and joke around without pressure or having to listen to arrogant punks asses. :) read more

Went in today with my 7 yo daughter who has discovered super heroes through the Marvel and DC movies, and has expressed an interest in reading the comic books they're based on. We were immediately greeted and offered assistance by the man behind the counter, and I explained what my daughter wanted and my concern that it be age appropriate. The man took us to the children's comic books, but I explained her interest was really super heroes, and that her favorites were Wonder Woman and Thor. The man started thumbing through comics and handing choices to me, and another man, who was obviously a regular customer, started offering options and ideas also. I narrowed the choices down to two, Super Sons Vol. 2 and Wonder Woman '77 Vol. 1, and handed them to my daughter for the final decision. She settled on Wonder Woman and as I write this is more than half way through reading it. I am very pleased with the knowledge and service that we received during our visit to Comic Madness, and I am sure that we will be back soon for my daughter's next comic book. read more

Comic Madness is a nice little comic shop unknown by those aware of it, when becoming a comic fan i realized this place was right under my nose, and soon i was here every other week. Something which makes this comic shop stand out is its dense collection of older comics a month or maybe 2 old which makes it a valuable source of comics when other comic shops get rid of their old issues. The staff are very welcoming, relating and conversing with the costumers as if friends, and after awhile, going there every other week they become your friend read more

The customer service here is a hit or miss. The store is also small and cramped which at times has given me the feeling of invading someones bedroom. They do have a very good selection of comics are in stock of mostly all issues that have come out in the past year from the big players like Marvel or DC. The only issue with their comic selection is that sometimes they overcharge for the more popular comics, some comics will be marked up by $2 which to me is that they are profit driven rather then being consumer friendly. read more
