So my son is a huge fan of comics. He loves this shop because they have so much variety and a great selection of the most popular comics. I finally was able to bring him and was pretty impressed by the shop. The walls are fully equipped with comics that range from Marvel, DC, anime, and other pop culture shows. I had a few comics that caught my eye; of course, Harley Quinn. Shout out to Enrique who satisfies my sons requests and always has what he wants. Every time Manny goes shopping there, Enrique has given numerous suggestions and gives him the inside scoop of what is new. All the comics are in great condition and packaged nicely to avoid damage. Definitely worth the price and to add to your collection. Back to the store, on the other side of the shop, there is an arcade with pinball machines and other popular arcade games. My kid is just getting into comics, so I googled and found this little shop tucked away in the Costco parking lot near the AMC theater. Our experience was better than I could've ever hoped for. There are rows and rows of different comic books, neatly organized, and very easily viewed. It is like a little kids comic book dreamworld. So many cool different things to look at. The staff (maybe owner?) Enrique is so kind and so happy to help. We were able to look at things that were within the age range for my kid to enjoy. There's also a couple rows of really cool vintage pinball games. For a dollar you get to play several rounds. Overall amazing experience, we will be back. I feel like everything we wanted to buy, we went ahead and bought and I still left there for under $30. I noticed that he's selling the current comic books for the price labeled on the book, he's not up selling and gouging. Great comic book shop, I really like the arcade that is inside as well. They have a great selection of everything and it will definitely be added to my rounds of comic book shops. The service was practically the same as you would get at any comic book shop, I mean sometimes personality isn't always the biggest trait of folks that work at comic book shops. So, it was to be expected. I believe everything was fairly priced and they had tons of cheap comics. Comic shop + Arcade, cleverly placed right next to the AMC for easy time-burning before or after a movie. We got a rare movie-night and thanks to Comic Hero University we found some nice books for our kids. Inside is neat and clean with new releases clearly displayed along the walls and back issues in the center. The back issues are spaced with breathing room and not packed in dense making it harder to flip through, you can also pull out sliding drawers on bottom to find even more comics. The unique touch is a good artists created pencil sketches of superheroes telling you to look below for more, the drawings are very well done! The small arcade has a small collection of fighting games and classics, love the constant sounds of nostalgia in this area. Customer service was mediocre. Selection isn't bad and the value is pretty much like any other comic book store. Nothing to write home about other than them having an arcade where you can play games. If I came in and actually liked the environment and the people working there were friendly I'd change my mind. I've never had issues with the guy that I believe owns this place but he wasn't here today. Instead it was this new guy that had issues processing credit cards. I entered the one person line as he was calling someone asking for help. I wait 10-15 mins as he tried to ring up a few items over and over again before another customer who had left the line earlier to get cash but for some reason wasn't able to. He rejoined the line so I was now behind 2 people using cards. There was no acknowledgement of me or any attempt to ring me up from new guy even though I had a $5 dollar bill in my hand and one comic in another and was ready to go. New employee even cussed to complain about the technology not working. You're better off going to Comic Book Hideout around 1 mile away from here. I left this store and drove there and was immediate greeted by someone. As I grabbed what I wanted there was another employee available to ring me up. They actually have multiple people working there. They actually can process credit cards faster than 10 mins. They actually have employees that notice you. read more

This shop has done a fine job of appealing to a wide slection of fans. It has modern books and a nice backlog of older titles to fill in the gaps on your collections. You may not find everything you want but what you will find will be in excellent shape and available at a reasonable price. Some shops tend to overprice variants or gouge their foot traffic. That doesl not happen here. The owner Is nice and knowledgable, and if he can't help you himself - he is glad to direct you elsewhere. I enjoy owners who are also fans of the art and medium. I got a book for a friend's birthday out of state, but he had literally just got it. Called the owner, and he said they don't accept refunds, only store credit. The cashier never mentioned it. The book is still in the bag it came in with receipt. Disappointed, wanted to like this place. They said because it's a collectible and the they don't know the condition. Asked if I could bring it in and show, didn't even acknowledge that option, only said could possibly give store credit. Honest opinion, use Amazon. They always accept returns. read more

Comic Hero University has a great look, inside and out. I really like the look from outside and the inside is just as aesthetically pleasing (especially the arcade room). They didn't have the TPB's I was looking for, but I found and bought a couple of things that caught my attention. They have great deals like $5 TPB's and $1 single issue deals. The owner, Enrique, and another employee were helpful and funny. As I was shopping, they had a movie playing and they making fun of some movie and soundtrack cliche's. I remember going to the comic hero University at Fullerton last 2 years ago, after I watched new movies at amc dine in theaters on the weekends. Also, I love playing the old school arcade game with quarter coins from the pinball machine from Star Wars and Indiana Jones as my favorite movies from Lucasfilm, pac man, marvel vs cap com 2, house of the dead 2, dance dance revolution, space invaders, and teenage mutant ninja turtles from 1991. Sometimes, I like to look around to see what I am interested to own some comic books, action figures, pop figures, board game, and hot toy from DC, Star Wars, and Marvel comics. What an awesome place to hang out. They even have an arcade area with modern pinball machines too. This place is stocked from the floor to the ceiling with everything from graphic novels to toy collectibles. There were plenty of back issues to thumb through, to find that one missing gem that you never knew you needed. But, their specialty is all of the newest issues and their variant covers. However, I would say that this place's strongest offering is the cool owner, Enrique. He is one of the few comic store owners who have an interest in helping out the customer, without making them feel stupid for asking questions. He's awesome with kids too. Please support businesses like this, as they are a huge asset to our community. Throughout the decades, Fullerton has always been known to have REALLY good comic book stores. Another excellent shop in the fullerton area. I came here because I was looking for Synder's Wytches. After going to several shops they had it! I was beyond stoked. They had a good collection of current and back issues. They had tables for card trading/playing, an arcade with some awesome games, and a couple TVs with video games going on. More Marvel than DC but it's got all the popular mainstream stuff. If that isn't your thing, in the back they have a small arcade filled out with 3 or 4 pinball (Terminator 2, Star Trek TNG) and your favorite 4 player button smasher (Turtles, Simpsons, etc etc) along with Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter-ish machine and your space shooter. This is a very nice and clean comic book store. It is well organized and they have quite a selection. I was here the day after Halloween Comicfest and they still had some free comics left over. I was able to score the Plants vs. Zombies title for my son. This was great since I'd been to 2 other stores the prior day and they had already run out of that title. A comic book store that earns me extra "Awesome Mom" points is always going to be a great place in my book. Also, tucked away in the back, there is a mini arcade. There were 3 pinball machines and several old school arcade games. Along with the arcade, to the left side of the store is a small area for gaming. Had my first visit here over the weekend and really enjoyed myself. Bought a few walking dead comics at retail price and even found some variants at retail. Most shops in the area always up charge the variants so it was nice to not feel so taken advantage of. The arcade in the back is such a nice touch and I can see myself returning on a regular basis. For me, comic collecting surfaced in the late 80's, more specifically when the four-issue Batman series "A Death in the Family" was released. Tim Burton's "Batman" was about to debut, and I was thrilled! The fact that Jason Todd's appearance would be questionable, I already knew. However, that we'd see any Robin at all was anyone's guess. This so began my rather loose relationship with comic books. Every once in awhile, though, I've found myself yet again rummaging through some eclectic store's bins and boxes, seeking out those books that were important enough to capture my interest when I was young, especially if about the "deaths" of superheroes and super villains alike. Iconic plot lines gravitating toward eventual demise and possible rebirth promised intrigue. Comic Hero University, sitting atop the Amtrac station, is an inviting detour while awaiting arriving guests. I hadn't any idea they were even there until I found myself wandering around the seemingly empty station--trains running late, temperature rising, boredom setting in. That little comic shop made the wait tolerable. It's great in there! It's fun. In fact, if the trains are running a bit late, no problem. This place is tucked away near the train station in Fullerton and offers fans of both comics and arcade games both in one building. Its like peanut butter and chocolate right? Any time I come in or call they are always super helpful at telling me what is coming out and when I can come in to pick them up. Sometimes my commutes required a train trip from Fullerton Train Station (FUL) and almost every time I would get off the train and before settling on my way home or to the supermarket or to errands, I stop by this amazing well-stocked comic book store located at the train station. My favorite part of visiting is buying graphic novels and the occasional HeroClix for my younger brother. I especially love that there is a small arcade in the back of the store, and with a few quarters, you can play some classics. The owner is usually there: great personality, always knowledgeable, and supporting our local community with donations and Free Comic Book Day events. I've had a decent comic book experience when visiting various shops, but the place I was getting my pulls at, really ruined the experience and I had fallen off for over a year. Well there were a couple series I really wanted to catch up on and see how they ended. I checked these guys out because I called and they had what I needed, so I stopped by. The shop has a great set up, it's very neat and is laid out well. There's even an arcade in the back........ The best part about this place though is the customer service. Kent and Enrique are very friendly and easy to talk to. If there's a book you need and they don't have it, they do everything in their power to help your source it, so you don't have to try and find it yourself. It's nice to have a place where I can feel comfortable getting pulls again. These guys have brought back the excitement into collecting. read more

We stumbled on this hidden gem as we were leaving the AMC. They are located right in front of the ticket booth. They had an arcade of lots of the old classics and a nice selection of comics. Easily the best comic book store that I've been to in decades! They have alphabetically organized dollar bins for god's sake!!!! The staff was incredibly helpful and easy to talk with; in fact, this is the only comic shop in the OC area I will now be doing business with. Sadly, I didn't get to check out the the arcade (didn't want to test my wife's sister's patience) but the Street Fighter sound effects playing in the background were pleasantly nostalgic. Man, when was the last time you walked into a real arcade? It's been a minute for me. So when I walked into this place for the first time, I felt I was a kid again. The first game I saw was Pole Position. Sat down, and shifted between 1st and 2nd gear (that's all it has), as my car stayed stationary while the rest of the screen moved. I was transformed back to the 80's as a young boy who played this game when it came out. After a few runs of Pole Position, I had to put a quarter and play Centipede. I use to be really good at this game when I was a young kid. I suck at it now but man did it bring back memories of my childhood. Although there were other games like Pac Man, Miss Pack Man, Donkey Kong, Mortal Combat, etc. I spend the remainder of my time doing 2 things. One, I spent a whole lot of time playing Street Fighter II. Played multiple times with different characters from Ryu, Guile, Chun Lee, etc. I was transformed into the time when arcades where super popular. I guess you can call it the glory days. After that, I had to walk around to see the other games and all the stuff that was on sale. This place had the original Nintendo, and even hard "Rob" the original robot for sale. A lot of people don't remember "Rob" but for those who do, you'll remember it went with the game Gyro. Want to find a place lost in time. This is the must go to place for people who are somewhat older. It'll bring you back to a time when Hawaiian shorts, knee high socks, Z Cavarichi's, and Jimmy Z's were still popular. read more

From the Zoltar the Magician fortune teller, to the pinballs and 90's arcade video games in the back, this place has the making of an awesome comic book store. I wish it was bigger, but sometimes, that shouldn't matter. The two guys I've met that work here are just plain awesome, and are actual comic book readers that love talking to the customers. If you don't see anything, ask the guy up front, they can probably order it for you. They also have action figures and other comic book related goodies like posters. You can gawk at them if you like, or you can actually buy them if you like them enough. So, to conclude, awesome place. I was looking for new store to go to and come across this one. This store has a lot of potential and I'm really excited for it. I talked to the owner and he was giving me the low down on what his vision is for the store and all I can say is WOW. For a new store this place is great and clean, which is a big plus for me. I have been to other stores in Fullerton and they look like they were literally built in a day with boxes everywhere. Comic U has great displays for all their comics which make this place look professional and not a hoarder's nest. I am glad that this place has jerky. Nothing better then comics and Jerky.
