arcade inside

Comic shop + Arcade, cleverly placed right next to the AMC for easy time-burning before or after a movie. We got a rare movie-night and thanks to Comic Hero University we found some nice books for our kids. Inside is neat and clean with new releases clearly displayed along the walls and back issues in the center. The back issues are spaced with breathing room and not packed in dense making it harder to flip through, you can also pull out sliding drawers on bottom to find even more comics. The unique touch is a good artists created pencil sketches of superheroes telling you to look below for more, the drawings are very well done! The small arcade has a small collection of fighting games and classics, love the constant sounds of nostalgia in this area. Some of the more popular fighting games are against the outside windows to draw in crowds from epic matches.

Cool hidden comic book store right outside of AMC theaters in fullerton. Needs better signage outside the store (there's none). Great selection and vintage arcade games.

This business received the Dr. Jon seal of approval.

This shop has done a fine job of appealing to a wide slection of fans. It has modern books and a nice backlog of older titles to fill in the gaps on your collections. You may not find everything you want but what you will find will be in excellent shape and available at a reasonable price. Some shops tend to overprice variants or gouge their foot traffic. That doesl not happen here. The owner Is nice and knowledgable, and if he can't help you himself - he is glad to direct you elsewhere. I enjoy owners who are also fans of the art and medium. I could not recommend more highly. Dr. Jon (the comics guy)

I got a book for a friend's birthday out of state, but he had literally just got it. Called the owner, and he said they don't accept refunds, only store credit. The cashier never mentioned it. The book is still in the bag it came in with receipt. Disappointed, wanted to like this place. They said because it's a collectible and the they don't know the condition. Asked if I could bring it in and show, didn't even acknowledge that option, only said could possibly give store credit. Honest opinion, use Amazon. They always accept returns.

Comic Hero University has a great look, inside and out. I really like the look from outside and the inside is just as aesthetically pleasing (especially the arcade room). They didn't have the TPB's I was looking for, but I found and bought a couple of things that caught my attention. They have great deals like $5 TPB's and $1 single issue deals. The owner, Enrique, and another employee were helpful and funny. As I was shopping, they had a movie playing and they making fun of some movie and soundtrack cliche's. I cracked up a few times and felt welcome after that. Comic Hero University is an excellent shop, I'll be coming back for sure!

little arcade

I dont know much about comics but this place was pretty cool. Lots and lots of comics to dig through. They're all organized alphabetically so thats a huge help. In the back is the little arcade. Games are a quarter or two. I mean I suck at pinball but it was a lot of fun pretending that I knew what I was doing! Man who was working was quiet but friendly, so that was great.

Just not a fan of this place. They have a good amount of back issues, but the staff is clueless and it's a Mickey Mouse operation.

I have been coming to this shop for years, I have to say I love the staff here! I used to shop at…read morethe Redlands location because it's closer but the service was sub par and management there just sucks so bad! The selection is excellent no matter what I'm looking for niche or brand new these guys know what they're doing. I can always trust them for excellent recommendations, I also pick up gifts for friends and family here they have a little bit for everyone. They even have a back issue bin where you can find a great value and even more selection of older issues. Eli and Eddie are just so friendly consistently and very knowledgeable, Jason really knows how to run this store (please never ever switch management). If you have the chance definitely make the treck to Claremont. Oh and one last thing thank you for making sure people with sticky wet hands aren't walking in here and ruining the pristine issues every collector would like to have.

ZERO STARS. walked in with a sealed iced latte and was…read moreimmediately told to put it in their designated spot for drinks i was there shopping with my boyfriend and the whole time they were staring at us. idk what intentions they had but they were extremely rude it was an uncomfortable and WACK shopping experience couple minutes later, an older white lady came in with a open starbucks cup and wasn't told anything they're very selective with who they want to be a dick to.

Lot's of reviews about the kitty cats here, and while I did not adopt any of them, I will…read morewholeheartedly agree that this concept is wonderful and the opportunity to socialize and play with the cats is always really great. Most of the kittens look clean and healthy, though one of then did have some minor skin lesions that were slightly concerning. Beyond that, there aren't many reviews for the comic books, so i'd like to focus on that. I have nothing good to say about it. The collection they have on offer contains a mix of books that one would find in other shops for four to ten dollars. The quality of the books is generally okay, but the pricing is disgusting. The sheer audacity of the price tags on these books made me want to puke. Books that clearly sell for $3-5 being priced at 20-30, while high end key issues that sell in perfect mint condition for 180-200 being advertised at 600 dollars plus. The books are also not marked in any way, so after spending time shopping, you'll be disappointed to watch the employee scanning each issue in to ebay, then add 5-10 dollars to the price right in front of your eyes. I happily paid five bucks to play with the kittens but there's not a chance that i'd pay what they are asking for comics, it is legitimately robbery, and gatekeeps the hobby behind the hope that shoppers know zero about comics, or have never shopped for older books before. I wouldn't recommend this place to a comic collector on any day of the week. Go for the cats, avoid buying the comics until the owners learn more about what they are trying to hawk onto people.
