We had a bathroom shower installed. They charged us $13000 to have the shower put in and reseat the toilet and vanity. They installed the toilet incorrect the flange was moved when the removed the toilet and they did not fix it when they placed the toilet. This lead to sewer gas leaking into the house. They also installed the vanity incorrectly. The pipes were not fitted together or tightened. We discovered a chip in the shower base and it took them over a year to come and fix it. They had taken a picture of it when it was installed and never gave the information to the service department. They just did the minimum work and sat in our driveway smoking. I had to pick up cigarette butts all over the yard. STAY WAY FROM THEM A RIP OFF. read more

Terrible quality, useless customer service and warranty coverage. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt and to fix their wrongs, and they have failed on all fronts. These windows are terrible quality, and we upgraded! Spent over 20k on windows and still having issues 6+mo after install. We had one custom window in the whole project. It was broken the day of install during our walk around inspection. Installer stated he notated it and will put in work order to have fixed. Several weeks go by and I heard nothing, I called and of course they had no record of the issue nor any work order to fix it. Customer service asked if I could send them a pic of broken part so they could order it. Another month+ passes and they can finally come install part. During this time two latches fall right out of the window when I go to lock them. Installer shows up, wrong part for the custom window, can't fix! Order goes in again, another month+ passes, customer service informs me they ordered the wrong part a second time! Crew (Fred, John, Kate and Kyle) were on time, extremely polite and friendly, and they got the job done in one day whereas Comfort said it could be a 2 day install. I ordered two windows back in May that still have not been installed. I called Comfort multiple times and most recently their excuse is that one of the windows arrived cracked - and that was ALMOST TWO MONTHS AGO. Does one window really take that long to put together? Especially if the company "put a rush on it?". UPDATE** WINDOWS FINALLY INSTALLED: the installation crew cleaned their mess up okay, but left the windows dirty and marked up from whatever stickers they had on the glass. luckily, i took a look at one of the windows and noticed the screen was coming off the frame on one of them. it was ridiculously obvious and i have no idea how it wasn't noticed by these professionals. i had to point that out to one of them to fix or they were going to leave it that way. the windows look nice but it's a damn window. i would never pay what i paid for this kind of customer service. we could have saved a lot of time and money going elsewhere for an comparable product. I took a ladder to the upstairs window to check it out and found there was a HUGE gap between the window and siding. it looks like a 3 year old tried to caulk it. completely inexcusable for a "professional" installation. also, they promised to send out a gift card for the months of inconvenience for this GARBAGE. My installers Jaime and Adam were INCREDIBLE and our new shower is beautiful... Jaime even put new trim around the bathroom... Thank you Jaime !!!! We love you!!! However, our plumber, Steve, STOLE PVC from us in our basement and didn't realize there was a hole drilled into it for our sump pump, and plumbed it into our basement ... We had a bath remodel, tub and shower removed and a full shower with bench installed. Nikko and Joe were here everyday on time, professional and polite. They were very hard workers, cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. They explained their work as they completed each aspect of the job and were very attentive to any concerns or questions we had. They completed the entire job in 2 days. Got my windows installed a little over a year ago now. I would say that I am overall happy with the windows and the world that was completed. Price was competitive. I would say it was the best price for a super mass window company. All of the other large window companies charged at least 25% more. I don't believe the quality would've been much better. The problems started immediately after they got our deposit. Although they were very accommodating to make the sale by being available evenings or weekends only after we gave our deposit were we told that final measurements had to be done M-F before 3:00 PM and not on weekends. The engineer that we had to take a day off to meet with told us that was a lie. The engineer also told us that all of our initial measurements taken by our salesperson were wrong and that our quote was missing one window from it. Although we were promised a September installation by our salesperson and we gave our deposit in May, July had been almost over before anybody bothered to give us an update as to when installation would actually take place. When I inquired with their office the answer that I got was "Your contract states 20 weeks from your final measure". Seems to me that's the answer that the salesperson should have given us upfront instead of "September". I asked the office and my salesperson both to escalate this. They didn't. I panicked when I read all of the bad reviews for the Tonawanda, NY Office and filed a complaint with BBB. The cancelled my contract and refunded my deposit, which was my desire all along as customer service was non-existent throughout the process and I did not want to have any further dealings with them. In many instances (and this is one of them), they seem to blame the customer instead of addressing their own shortcomings. This is truthful and I have documented proof (including names). I replaced 18 windows with the ProVia product. Getting the estimate was simple and quick. Be warned that it will take a long time from day of first payment (Of which there are three) to final completion. For me the first payment was on 5/11/22 with completion date on 4/21/23 (almost 1 year). Part of that was Comfort scheduling a team to the site and part was me not wanting my windows removed in the dead of winter. The team was very professional and obviously proud of their work (Scott was the main team leader). Any minor issue I brought up with the installation was immediately corrected to my satisfaction, without question. At one point the trim on our largest window set was not going to give a satisfactory result, so Scott asked for a better trim cut. I have to say he was right (it looks great). The request for a different trim resulted in another month delay, but worth it. The only issue I had with Comfort, is that the management asked me to pay the final payment prior to the final completion, when the installation time was running over. well, we finally got our windows installed. let me repeat -- do not let them sell you on "quality." maybe the window itself is good quality but the frame they put in for our "rough opening" window looks like the cheapest quality wood i've ever seen in my life. also, when they were "finished" with the window, the screen was not even installed correctly and had a gap that you could put your finger through because it was crooked. if my husband hadn't said anything, they would have left it just like that. we also replaced our large picture window in the front of our house which was not a rough opening, just a regular replacement. we recently painted our window trim within the last year and while they replaced this window they left HUGE GOUGES in the bottom of our window and chipped or scraped off paint in other places. i didn't have the same paint i used for this window so i had to fill the gouges with wood filler and repaint the entire frame. i'm just thankful this was already painted because if it was the natural wood and they left gouges like that, there is NO fixing it. quality of the windows? maybe. we will see this winter. quality of work? absolute garbage. save yourself the time, money, stress, and extra work. go elsewhere. read more

Very solid experience all around. The salesman came out twice over the course of 3 months to go over different scenarios and options. It's easy for sales staff to get frustrated with a drawn out process but he wasn't and remained kind and accommodating throughout. The install crew was efficient and respectful and the finished job they did looks great. Purchasing windows produced by a WNY manufacturer was an important factor to us and the quality of product and experience certainly matches the high expectations we set up with that premise. COMPLETE INEPTITUDE ....THE WORST Comfort windows is so inept at their job it is tragic. They do not know when they will be able to get you the windows you order and pay for. Do not believe a word they say. The worst Customer service. Their service manager Bill is terrible. He has no idea when our install will be done. He is running the company... Buyer beware! I ordered Comfort windows in in September 2018. I was told by the Sales person that there would be no problem receiving the windows in my home in the 8-10 week installation time. They have been experiencing delays since July.. Never informed of this. When I call for the status they just change install dates, 3 different times now. It is now January 2019 and I am being told 4 more weeks. They never contact you to tell you about the delay. You have to be the one to follow up. First I was told supply issue, then breakage, then holiday, now it is because my window is custom size. Isn't it your business to know? Why don't you say that at the sales appointment. They bait you into purchase then lie about the install. Then string you along with delays and when you ask for a refund they say you have a contract...too bad. Had a bay window put in and it needed trim work around it on inside. I coukd not believe that they cut a piece too short and used it anyway. Everyone makes mistakes but dont try and fudge it with another piece to make the distance across the window. It left a seem right in the middle of my window. What kind of trim crafstmen would do that. Just get another piece. I woukd be embarrassed of that and i was. Hoping nobody seen it. read more

We have used comfort windows twice in the last year. We have had three windows replaced and they are all fantastic. We did not have the highest budget, but the product is still wonderful. The salesman we worked with, Tom, is really nice and helpful- very little pressure from him to buy or upgrade, so it made the process easy. The installers both times were great, extremely professional and nice , even though my dog was crazy. They still worked quickly and cleanly, I didnt have to clean up after them either inside or outside, which was great. They do not get the full 5 stars because we had an issue where we were told they would be here at 8:30 am but didn't show up. When I called the office- the girl who answered wasn't too excited to talk to me and gave me the usual "well- you were told wrong" speech. They ended up coming closer to 10:30 am and everything was fine. read more

I am not one to write a review as I feel that most issues can be resolved by calling and talking through the issue, however, We have called multiple times and no one calls you back. I have even asked for a manager to call back and even then I can not get a call. First we had Comfort do our bath remodel, they tore out our garden tub and installed a beautiful shower. The crew was fantastic, very detail oriented, hard working and professional. Now on to the very disappointing window issues. We ordered 4 large windows and 2 custom doors on November 3rd, we were told 18-20 weeks. We started calling to check on the status of our project around the beginning of March, there were 2 different young ladies that answered, each time we asked they had no idea where our windows were in the process. At one point they said they would call the vendor and get an update and call back..... no call. We would call again and still clueless and no answers. We would call a few times a week to get an update and either no idea where our product was and someone will call us back. NO CALL. Again I left messages for a manager and NO CALL. I understand that with the current state of our world that things get delayed but having good communication would have gone a long way with us. What is a customer to think when you can not get information on your project and then the sales guy, the project desk AND a manager will not call you back. We were told so many different things when we did get to speak to someone, the sales guy actually told us that he wanted to make sure that we got a good crew and not one of their "sub-par" crews, and that they have 3 million dollars worth of product in the warehouse that they have to go through. Not a good thing to say to a customer. Now after hounding them, magically our products are in and they called to set up an install date of the end of June. So we have waited and waited with no help from the staff to now have to wait 6-8 more weeks. After looking at some of these reviews, it looks like we are not the only people going through this. This is a very unprofessional company. Maybe you should stop selling product and catch up on the sales you already sold. We have more windows that need to be replace, I can say with certainty that we will not be giving the business to Comfort Windows. Also we are very uncomfortable with the install now. We enjoyed every step of dealing with Comfort Windows. Our salesman was very informative, professional and down to earth. He was so easy to communicate with by not talking above us and really explaining all of our options. We did luck out and took the spot of a cancellation so our installation was bumped up about 4 weeks so that was a plus. The installers were amazing. They were so polite were even good with my little ones who were probably annoying them by asking what they were doing every 2 minutes. They had great senses of humor and on top of that the installation was flawless. Not one stroke of paint needed after they were done. I would recommend to anyone. We recently engaged Comfort Windows to replace 27 windows in our home. Their service, from our first contact with CW via their website to the final day of installation, was excellent! Their salesman Dennis was very professional & thorough; their "final measure" technician was very good; & the 3-man installation crew, led very ably by Scott, was fantastic! It ended up being approximately a 3 1/2 day job, which they initially estimated, but they probably would've been done sooner if heavy rain hadn't interfered at one point. TL;DR just stay AWAY from this place. nothing but aggravation. if you're still reading, ill tell my experience with this place. i ordered two windows from comfort windows near the end of august. it started out great. the sales man was very nice, on time, and was not pushy or anything. i liked him and the windows and the price wasnt too bad so i decided to go with comfort for this project. the salesman had told me it would take around 8-10 weeks and by end of oct, early nov i should have the windows done. well they didnt come. so i contacted customer service via phone several times. they were nice on the phone but all they would was say "we'll have someone call you back" and no one ever did. it wasnt until i emailed customer service did i get some updates. they said the windows wouldnt be in till near thanksgiving. ok i said it's fine. well they didnt come then either. each and every week comfort would call me and set a tentative date for the following friday. so i was getting some updates now which was good. finally the day came. took more like 14 weeks than the originally agreed 8-10 but whatever, they were here. the installers did a good job from what i can tell. however, they didnt put my curtain rods back up. they also didnt have the correct color pins to put my shutters back up. so they said they would order the correct color and someone would be out again in a couple weeks to put my shutters back on my house. they must of taken a shutter too as i only have 3 out of my 4 here. so i dont know if they took one to make sure they get the correct color? seems odd but i definitely had 4 shutters before they arrived. so it's been almost a month and still noone out to put my shutters up. i cant even do it myself as they took one of them. my emails havent been replied too either. seems once they got paid, they were just done with me. i never understood why these companies do this. this need to just take what money they can from a first time customer and not give a care for trying to keep them. they're a home improvement company and i have plenty of work that needs done. in my head, i would think they would want to have people come back to them and not just take whatever money they can on the first go around. ill update this post in the future with whatever happens. if they make it right in the end, ill let everyone know. my guess is ill have to buy a new shutter to replace the one they took and have to hire someone to put them back up. all in all, just stay away from this place. they have zero interest in retaining customers and you will just be annoyed every step after you place your deposit. read more

I'm sick of the staff, the manager not being able to keep follow through with anything without passing it on to someone else, all of it. I would tell others NOT to purchase anything from Comfort Windows. Unfortunately, I thought the reviews from their website would be accurate.. Not even remotely close....I purchased 6 large windows for my sunroom. They are what you would call sliders as they do not open up out to the backyard, they slide. I ordered in March, they finally arrived after several calls in August(I know the plant was closed for awhile). After calling, they conveniently arrived the next day (probably sitting in their warehouse is my bet). The installers did a ok job, The foreman, the finisher, and what was told to me... a brand new employee. Well, they were here from morning to dusk, but finished the job. I had to go to work, so I did not take a close look from the outside. I had to finish the interior which I did over the weekend. In September, when it got cooler, my wife was wondering how all these flies, wasps were getting in and to my surprise, it was through the screen space on every window that was open. We usually ran the central a/c in the summer. So I tried myself to center the screens better and close up the space so insects would not get in, but it was to no avail....and impossible. All the screens were too small by approx 3/16 ". I called them and they sent out a guy to take a look. He came out, found out that indeed they were too small and remeasured. Next, they wanted to send out another guy to remeasure for a 2nd time and he did just that. After 5 weeks I called again to find out where my new screens were they miraculously arrived the next day... I had them come out but I unfortunately was called to work to handle an emergency, so my wife had to give the guy the key to open the gate.( My wife is in a wheelchair) When I got home I took a look. I had a bad feeling that they would try to pawn off the original screens. As expected, these were worse... so, I called them , by this time, I am getting angry because it does not take a rocket scientist to measure the fitment of a screen! When the two men came over, they tried to give me bs that they were correct, that because of the size of the screen they were being pulled in the middle. etc....I told him it was not MY fault, and that if they could not get the size right for any reason, including making the frame stronger with heavier duty aluminum that I would take of it (albeit) in court) They told me they would come by in the next week (2/23/21) with the original screens to SEE what they could do.... NO SHOW, NO CALL, I AM NOT SURPRISED!!!! so, i WILL now have to take them to court also I am calling my cc company to see what they can do for me...... If your the owner.... do not bother to leave a ridiculous reply that you leave other people.. stating..... thank you for letting us know....blah, blah, blah, its the only way we can better service our customers!! I received a call offering a free estimate for Windows. My home was built in 1927 and 90% of our windows are original to the home- this is definitely a home improvement job that is on our horizon. I was told by the sales staff that they would not give me an estimate unless my husband was home. I informed the sales person that I am actually the home owner, not my husband and that I was a professional and an adult and did not need my husband to make decisions for me. At which point I was told that I could not have a free estimate. Really poor salesman. Im an out of state homeowner and as such rely heavily on electronic media to make improvements to my home. This guy became rude and beligerant when I began texting him, requesting an estimate via email. I explained im not there to meet in person, he replied via text "we dont do business thru text or email." I then had my renter contact Mike to write an estimate in person, but Mike never returned his call... I wonder how much business they are losing because of this 19th century attitude... anyway I have contacted Lowes at my residence location to go to my rental in Buffalo to write an estimate. This company does not even deserve 1 Star!!! I ordered my windows at the end of June. We were given a turn around time of 6-8 weeks. I repeatedly told the sales man I wanted the windows to match the window they had already replaced. He said not to worry - they will be the same windows. After many calls asking for updates the windows were in and install date was scheduled for December 22. We took down all the blinds, window treatments and garlands. This was all 3 days before Christmas. The installers came and began the install early December 22. After 2 windows were out in , the installer asked why I didn't want the windows to match the other window. I looked at the windows in such disgust. ALL 8 windows that were brought to my house for the install were the wrong style. I called and spoke to Philip who told me all the wrong windows were ordered. He was going to re-order and put a rush on the order. He offered me a discount Of $200. Really?! After months of waiting and taking my windows apart?!He told me 3-6 weeks for my windows to come in. Well, here we are, it's almost March and I do not have my windows. No one has called to follow up. No communication. I highly recommend staying away from this company!! Such a huge disappointment . This past year my family, like many other families in this area were forced to deal with lead issues in our house. Luckily the source (the windows, mostly) was detected early and we called in several contractors to give pricing. While Comfort wasn't the cheapest (or the quickest*), they were by far the best. When the work began, a mistake was made. I've heard horror stories about contractors reacting less-than-stellar in similar situations, but Comfort went above and beyond to address the problem. They eventually finished the job and the experience as well as the end-product was so good that we asked them back to do our siding a few months later (which would finally close the book on our lead issues). I can't stress enough how impressed my family and I were with their kindness and customer service. As I said, they may not be the cheapest but sometimes the experience is well worth a few extra dollars. I highly recommend them. (* they do take a while from initial booking to actual completion, but only because they do not subcontract their work. This is important because you will always get the same excellent work. They showed up when they said they would and at the end of the day everything was picked up and put away. Everyone we talked to from the sales person to the office staff were very personable and helpful. Special thanks to Clifford and Rocky for a very difficult job done well.
