My wife and I recently had the misfortune of choosing to stay at the Comfort Inn located at 226 North Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN, 37129 and it was the worst experience we have ever had staying in a hotel. The hallways and elevators smelled of carpet fresh which was used to cover up the moldy and damp smell that was apparent by the dingy discolored carpet. The room my wife and I were placed in also had a very strong damp moldy smell that only got worst. It was most intense in the bathroom. It got so bad we had to request they give us another room because our throats were actually burning too bad to sleep by the second night. The manager was kind enough to give us another room on a lower floor which we appreciated but when I tried to tell him about the problem with the room, he claimed to be unaware and that no other guests had complained which we found difficult to believe. We both had our allergies triggered due to the short stay which was not worth it. Needless to say, we will never choose Comfort Inn Hotels in Tennessee or anywhere else. If you want a comfortable relaxing hotel stay DONT choose Comfort Inn!! read more

They gave us a whole 20% off when we were finally able to get ahold of them a week later even though they were fumigating the room the next day. I repeat: do NOT stay here. This place was a VERY pleasant surprise. It was very affordable for the quality of hotel this is. Everything was excellent. The room was clean and very classy. The bathroom was gorgeous and roomy. There was a fridge and microwave, which we utilized. The only thing I would love to see is free weights in the fitness center. It only had a treadmill elliptical & stationary bike. Choice hotel at Comfort Inn at Murfreesboro, TN on Thompson Lane is our preferred hotel. My husband and I like to stay there when visiting TN. We never encountered ruddiness at the front desk until that night in March 2023. The rooms are always clean. The hospitality of the front desk clerk makes the difference if you will stay the night or leave for another hotel. March madness for employee Julie who worked the front desk on the evening hours March 11th, 2023. Upon our arrival her hospitality was zero, no welcoming. She ended her phone call but Julie continued to be rude. Her voice tone was hostile, we gave her our credit card, but she returned it by slamming it down on the counter. We did not say anything. We wanted to believe she had a bad day or the call she was on put her in a bad mood. There is no excuse. Her aggressiveness toward us when she asked that we sign the document and add the car description. She practically yelled asking us to sign on the line without fully showing where until I missed a spot. Then she became hostile because we rented a car and did not know the model but only that it was a Jeep. Ok, this is when she begins to see we had enough of her attitude and later said look on the key ring with a highly authoritative voice. We completed our document with discomfort and silently took the elevator to our room. My husband and I eventually had a conversation together about Julie, personality, character, hostility, and her horrible service as the front desk agent for that night. This was the first because we made the reservation while traveling from Greensburg Indiana and the service on the phone was delightful. We knew it was not the same person but did not expect such rudeness and discomfort when it's called the Comfort Suites (TN480). We plan to visit again in the future. Will not let one bad apple spoil it for this great Hotel. read more

As a Property, this hotel in nice. But beware of your credit card info at the time of check in and you should know, it is not secure after that. In my opinion, this hotel is out of PCI compliance. Desk clerk (jfulle), while I was distracted, wrote my credit card info on the folio (full number, full name & expiration date). She then placed it on the counter, again while I was distracted, for me to sign the folio. This left my credit card info exposed for all the other customers around the desk to see. When I complained about this, all she would say was that she was following hotel policy. I did check with Choice Hotels customer service and was informed, that it is at the discretion of the hotel to or not to copy down your info. I think it is a bad practice and unneeded, as they swipe your card at check in. However, it is out of PCI compliance to allow that info to be put out for anyone else to see. Furthermore, they put these folios with your credit card info, in the hotel folio box, which sits on the desk. Anyone who travels regularly, knows the desk is not manned 24/7 and you can frequently approach the desk with no one around. This leaves plenty of opportunity for anyone to reach over the counter and snag all the guest info, again, out of PCI compliance. I looked into my options about the PCI compliance and will be filing a complaint with Discover Card. I average 4 nights a week in a hotel and am at the Platinum level with Choice Hotels, so I stay at lot of Choice Hotels. This is the 1st time I have been so upset, with a hotel, to take the time to write a review of this matter. In the past, any issues I have had, have been resolved with the hotel management. I tried to talk to the desk clerk in the morning (cvongp), but all she would say was "Thank you for your stay, have a good day" and handed me my checked-out folio. I filed a complaint with Choice Hotels customer service, which they stated was forwarded to the hotel manager. It has been 3 days and I have not heard anything from the manager. A further issue I have, is that the clerk who checked me in (jfulle) wrote on my check-in folio. Stating that I got angry, yelled at her and ripped off the info she wrote. Yes, I was upset, but angry, no. I did not yell, I stated strongly that what she did was unnecessary and inappropriate. And yes, I neatly tore off the section of the folio that had my info, but not in a manner that she implied. It is bad customer service to write something about customer, whether right or wrong, where they will see it. You have a notes section in your point of sale software for that. I would recommend this hotel, as the property is nice and clean, but just be aware of your credit card information. I have had other hotels try to do this and have never been turned away when I refuse to allow them to do it. It is not needed and very an unsecure practice. read more

Truly filthy. We traveled with a sports team for an event and many of us stayed in this hotel. We stayed for three nights and paid well over $500. While we were there I tried many times to contact the front desk with my concerns, but nobody would answer. There was only one person working at a time and they were overwhelmed. I finally reached someone and was told the manager would not be there until after I had left, so I was put through to his voicemail. However, it was FULL so I could not even leave a message. I emailed him and it has been 5 days not with no response. There were so many problems besides the fact that it simply was absolutely filthy. Only one elevator worked and it was incredibly slow. The other was broken. We booked this hotel in order to have a washing machine, but it was broken. We had to go find a laundromat to wash the uniforms. Many of the rooms had similar issues, but I will just write about mine. There were food crumbs on the floor, long black hairs on the sheets, white substance splattered on the curtains, holes in the desk chair, toilet paper shoved into a hole on the wall by the lightswitch, food residue and crumbs in and around the refrigerator, the coffeemaker were broken, the hairdryer kept falling off the wall, the toilet leaked, and the bathtub was dirty.....so dirty that dirt ran down the drain when we first turned it on. The workout room was truly filthy. There were hairballs in the corners and mold. The equipment was so dirty you could write on it. There were food crumbs all over. The water cooler was broken and only lukewarm water came out. The treadmill belt was splitting down the middle and separating. A large piece of it fell off while I was on it. It truly is a hazard and someone is going to likely get hurt. I have documented pictures of everything, but I am having a hard time getting them to load. I checked in to this motel 10/10/2020 and was booked into room 125. About 3:30 in the morning I woke up to go to the restroom and saw a MOUSE scurrying around my room. It was on the floor and then on the table around my wife's purse and her medication bag. She was quite taken aback as she is dependent on her medication and does not need it contaminated by mice. We were planning to sleep in for a bit, eat breakfast and then continue on our way. At that point, our sleep was done and our appetite was gone. I reported it to the front desk where Khan told us that he had been there for 13 years and never a mouse. I replied "I've been here for one night and you've got mice." He was apologetic and did all he said he could do, which was log in the complaint and move us to another room, which we declined. I suggest that you look in the sofa bed as that is where they seemed to be hiding. Khan assured us that the our $114.23 on my Discover card would be refunded. I trusted that management would approve this refund as this was a horrific experience for us especially for my wife whose health is compromised and did not need nasty rodents in her personal things. I'm handicap and stayed in a suite last night. My initial reaction was it was nicely done. However, upon closer inspection, there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom and I had to fill the bathtub with the shower since the faucet didn't work. I called the front desk to report. Check in was fine. We dropped our stuff off and went to our families house. When we came back I noticed black mold on the ceiling of the room. We decided to say something thr next day. It was late and we were tired. The next day I was drying my hair and water was dripping fromt he spot where the black mold was. Went down and said something and the person at the desk said to email the picture to the manager. Asked to have room switched we were told the manager would be there at 8. Manager wasn't there but the first desk attendant switched our room to one across the hall. He claimed it had been raining a lot lately and that's why. We were on the 2nd floor. I'm sure it wasn't from rain. The next room was musty smelling. Dealt with it the next 2 nights. When we were leaving early in the morning the same desk attendant was sitting in the guest chairs and had a sign on the counter saying he was helping another customer. This hotel is right next to a dog kennel and they bark. All. Night. Long. We were on the fourth floor and that did nothing to dampen the noise. Also, the room has low flow toilets which take about 6 flushes. On the plus side, the breakfast was good. That was the only good thing about this place. read more

I will say my bed was not all that comfortable, the shower head was way too low, and there was little water pressure in my 4th floor room. There are better options in the area. read more

Brenda was rude and she stated that she could not help me, they did not even offer to give me a cleaner room. So we left. Stay away from this place. There are nicer places near by. My family stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night. We were on the fourth floor and enjoyed the view, even though it was mostly streets and businesses. Check in was easy. The woman working the desk was very helpful and friendly. The room seemed clean and was spacious. The thing that really got my attention was when I flushed the toilet. I almost had a heart attack everytime. It was very fast and extremely loud! Actually that is an understatement. Just be aware that you should not flush while sitting on the toilet. The bed was very comfortable to us, though seemed kind of small. The pillows were excellent and they give you a choice of soft and firm. There was no noise from neighbors and the hotel was full. We would stay there again and we do recommend this hotel. read more

The hotel is run down it's pretty shabby and clearly not maintained ... the maintenance people should be fired if they have any at all. See the pictures I posted of the masking tape holding up the wallpaper all over the place. The carpeting in the hallways are just completely filthy. All the equipment in the exercise room doesn't work it's broken in one way shape or form. I hate hotels like this that think they can just get away with anything because it's a busy area. Oh yeah I was sweating in the middle of May because the air conditioner wasn't cold enough wouldn't work enough when it wasn't even hot out. read more

I'm surprised that I am the first to leave a review as the hotel seems to have been around for a couple years. I travel a lot so I have a lot to compare this hotel to. I also prefer to stay at comfort inns due to the reatively consistant performance. Things that are great about this Comfort Suites. Great proximity to shopping eating etc. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. The only reason I am giving this hotel 3 stars and not more is due to the cleaning staff. They outsource their cleaning through a cleaning company. This would make me think that they would take more pride in the cleaning job they due since I'm sure cleaning a hotel would be a good account to have. Well my room looked clean but the more I looked around the more disgusted I became. First I realize that the comforters are not changed but once month. I take them off the bed anyway. No big deal but the main blanket had hair all over it. I couldn't sleep with that. Second the floor was not vacuumed as there were crumbs on the floor. Third I must admit that I blame this more on the disgusting former guest who stayed in the room who didn't wipe themselves before sitting on the furniture unclothed, leaving a stain. I mean really. And then why did that seem acceptable as clean by the cleaning company? Disgusting. Anyway I wasn't able to not say something to the front desk. They again were very helpful and took care of it right away. Would I stay here again, possibly but I do not know if it would be my first choice if they continue with the same cleaning company. read more

The hotel was nice looking. The forth four smelled like someone was smoking. The front desk clerk was all business and no personality. We got this hotel due to the breakfast bar. The woman said it was better than the Hampton inn (which is across the street) and that they had biscuits and gravy and waffles and bacon and eggs. We got the room and went down at 830 and there was no food available. I asked if they were going to bring more out and they said no. They still had another hour left before the breakfast bar was over and there was a lot of hungry people. The front desk lady said there was nothing she could do. The food that was in the kitchen was for tomorrow. The smoke alarm went off and woke my sleeping children (due to someone on the second floor burning food in the microwave). We came back upstairs only for it to go off again. The maid came by at 930 to see if she could clean the room! Check out is not until 1100! What a horrible trip! I have stayed at hotels that were a little on the shady side and have been treated better than this place. The manager was also unavailable to talk to and when I called his number it went to the front desk. I would spring for the extra couple dollars and stay at the Hampton inn. I have never had an issue there. read more
