I would like to bring this to your attention I suspect fraud at Choice Suites Monroe property. I have been charged for a 3 night stay at the Monroe, LA Choice Suites. Invoice attached. I did not stay at this hotel. My invoice has me checking in, switching rooms mid stay, and checking out late. I have been making every effort to call the hotel and speak with the Manager Catherine. I have made over a dozen calls, every time May has told me different reasons I could not speak to Catherine. May has lead me to believe she was the manager and has told the Choice call Center she was the Manager. The 4 times the Call center has contacted the property the Manager has been unavailable to talk to them Manager is out walking the property Manager is on another call Manager took her Mom to a doctors appt The manager is at city hall Manager called in sick today Manager will return my call. I have left my number with May several times. May would not give me the managers name. May has hung up on me numerous times. May has argued with me several times when I said I did not stay at the hotel. She said I checked in with my phone number. I told her I cancelled my reservation to stay at the Best Western, she argued there was no best westerns in the area. I have traveled the world and every time my experience has been the Hotel has required a Drivers License and credit card at check in. At check in, Hotels have me sign a card agreeing to the cost, rules, and adding my Car's plate number etc. Is there a check in card? the check in card. This past Saturday, I did speak to Carissa. She was very professional, curtesy, and told me the Manager would be on property on Monday (today) she gave me the managers name and hotel e-mail. I did speak with Catherine today. She is refunding me 2 of the 3 nights because I did not cancel the reservation per hotel policy. She also told me her staff knows the standing policy for no shows to charge one nights rate. I did ask for a full refund, she declined. My rational is if this was told to me over 1 month ago when I initially reached out to hotel regarding the charge. I would have owned my responsibility and this wouldn't have got further with numerous calls and wasted minutes of the hotel staff, call center, and my time. Upon arrival at approx 2pm, the 2 automatic front doors were not working. We had to pull the doors apart to get into the lobby. The person on staff only said, yes that is what you need to do. No I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We went out to dinner before dark, when we returned it was dark and the entire parking lot and front door area were in total darkness. This is a big safety and security issue for all guests and employees. There was no one at the front desk to inquire why no lights. In the morning we followed a trail of dirt from someone's room to elevator and into the breakfast area. There were employees around but did not seem concerned about cleaning up the dirt. We will never stay here again. I will give the hotel 1 star only because we had clean sheets. read more

I booked a room with them in the first week of December but the military changed my training date thus forcing me to change my leave. So I called them to see if they could change the date for me, and they said no they just took my money. I gave them about weeks notice to change date for me. This is one of the responded I got from them. "Thank you for informing us that you need to change the check-in date for your reservation. We cannot imagine how frustrated you must be since these date changes are something out of your hands.   Please know that your reservation was purchased using the Advance Purchase Rate. Once the reservation is confirmed, cancellations or changes are not allowed (including changes to the guest's information). No refunds or credits for early departure, cancellation, or no-show." read more

Most dirtiest places I've ever booked. Customer service is a joke. They provided a dirty room with filthy carpet. This hotel needs to hiring a cleaning company to do a deep clean. The free breakfast was minimal max Do not book hotels in this area of town. read more

This hotel is good to stay at for a night or two. I only stayed one night. The room was big the ceilings were tall. The beds were typical comfortable hotel beds. The bathroom lightning was pretty good not too bright. The breakfast had a few options. I opted for sausage two slices, coffee three times, a muffin, and pop tarts to go. Overall, good option and fulfilling hotel. TV didn't work. read more

My experience was terrible. My room was nasty with the couch covered in dirt, stains all over the floor, and crusty stuff on my pillow. When I went to ask for another room, the clerk was rude and treated me as an annoying customer who was disturbing his night. He told me "All the rooms are like that." After coming back and showing him the crustiness on the pillow, he eventually moved me to another room, which was a little better, but still had issues. When I asked for a refund he initially refused, but later told me his manager said I could just leave (no refund). I was going to ask for another room and he told me I would get a refund in 14 business days, but refused to give me any documents showing that. I left (didn't want to stay there) and left my number for the manager to call me - never received a call. They did give me a 1/2 refund - not the full they told me. Don't stay here. read more

The hotel is unorganized and unprofessional. I walked in on several occasions where I noticed the front desk staff was sitting in the lobby watching tv. I had a 4 day stay and ask for my room to be clean 1 day. I confirmed 3x. When the day came my room was not cleaned. I asked - the housekeeper informed me my room was not on the list and she didn't have time. I asked her if she could replace the towels and empty the garbage. When I came back to my room, I had unfolded towels on the couch and dirty throw pillows without pillowcases on my bed! Garbage not emptied. There was plenty of staff. Lots of chit chat. Little work. Best part about the stay? The magnetic keys and the breakfast. read more

I stay in hotel rooms over 50 nights a year. This place is not bad. It's welcoming and appears very clean when you first enter. The pool is nice and the fitness center is above average. Oh! The bed was probably the best part! Very comfortable! This place would have gotten 4 stars if it weren't for the following: - suspicious stains on the floor - food from previous guests in the fridge - stale smell -closet door didn't work properly Despite the cons I would definitely stay here again in the future as nice hotels are hard to come by in Monroe. read more

They must've cleaned this place up because I had a completely different experience than people who've posted in years past. We were very pleased with our stay here. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating to me, my mom, and granny. The hotel looks like it's been updated recently. The rooms and hotel areas were clean, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the free breakfast was, well...it was a free breakfast lol ...and we all felt perfectly safe there. Nobody was hanging around outside of the hotel, and I never saw a soul in the surrounding neighborhood. Apparently they were recently voted best hotel in Monroe, so things must be improving there. Would definitely stay there again when I go back. read more

This was a great experience!! The customer service and hospitality of the staff is truly top notch. May, Eddie, and their manager were all extremely polite and helpful. This is a nice hotel to stay in for a short visit to the area. It's conveniently just off of I-20. The rooms (mini-suites really) are quite large and if you needed to open the queen sized sofa bed, you could easily accommodate a family of 6. Each room also comes with a mini fridge and microwave and there's free high speed wifi too. Also there's complimentary breakfast in the lobby till 10am and everyone we encountered on staff was very friendly. My only big issue is that the rooms are a bit dark. There's not a lot of lighting but keeping the window open helps a lot. I don't know if I'd stay in this part of town for a lengthy visit but for a couple nights, it was perfect. read more

What can I say....meets the requirements. Positives, big rooms with a good tv selection, decent breakfast, and friendly staff. Not-so-positives, rooms are quite aged, not much around, outside grounds and roads leading to the parking lot are not very good at all. This hotel is close to the Pecanland Mall and shopping area and not too far from much nicer looking West Monroe. If you need an inexpensive place to stay and are somewhat understanding on "get what you pay for" then this place will serve you fine. read more

Very rude front desk that refused to honor our reservation and communicate with us

Our recent experience here was excellent. We got a good rate on our rooms. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. Although the rooms were not large, they were very nicely designed, with quality furnishings and a great selection of stations on the TV. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good, too. They recently added a "business center," with two computers to access the Internet. When one of the computers was not allowing Internet access, I asked someone in the office for help. She promptly and pleasantly resolved the issue. Thankfully, we did not encounter any issues with the neighborhood. Good access to major transportation arteries and places such as the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Pecanland Mall. Would like to suggest that guests consider leaving a gratuity (tip) for the housekeepers on a daily basis, as the housekeeper may be different from day to day. Highly recommend! read more

The room was clean and the staffr was very nice, but the wireless Internet service was down, and the staff did not know how to fix it. They did not have a CAT 5 cable for me to hook up to the wired network. they had a computer in the lobby for public use, but it had a virus and would only go to one site. The Continental breakfast had watered down orange juice. The gravy for the biscuits was not palitable. The fresh fruit was not fresh. I had a great two night stay at this hotel. From the minute I first walked into the lobby, the staff were very friendly and made me feel right at home. Kudos to Catherine Ellington and Tim, the front desk staff. They were great! Even the maintenance man and the housekeeper were friendly. I was by myself but I never felt in any danger. I have never been so disappointed in management in all my life. Prior to coming to Fort Sill, OK, I stayed at this location in August as I visited family while I was on military leave. A month later, I was charged for two rooms on the same day and couldn't understand why. Kathy, the manager said I was at fault because it was booked on my app. She later stated that if the rooms were booked on a Sunday(even though the booking was on a Sunday) or slow day she would be lenient and give me 50% of my money back. I explained to her, I've been in Oklahoma since I left there and I have military orders as evidence but she didn't care. She rudely interjected saying her supervisor would question why was she giving a refund for rooms checked in as a no show. Ms. Kathy clearly seen this was either a flaw on the application or something mischievous was talking place in the work place because she explained the the rooms were booked after check-in and not one employee even bother to call to see if this double booking was a mistake. I asked to speak with her General Manager and she stated she was the final judgment on this matter. I feel this transaction is criminal and urge everyone to please either remove the Choice application or just use caution when choosing this location. $235.00 wasn't the only thing this location took from me, they also stripped trust and confidence that this company would do right by its customers. read more

As a business traveler, I spend many nights in hotels. The staff was great. The first room I was given smelled like a locker room and I immediately asked for another. I was given another room. It smelled better for the first day. The Wifi was pretty much non existant for the 3 days and nights I had to stay there. The referigerator looked as if it had fallen off a truck. There were greasy head prints on the wooden headboard. Stains on the bathroom floor. The toilet seat was so loose I thought I was going to slide off and the toilet bowl was stained.. Carpet is crunchy and dark except along the walls. I found out that I have to stay in Monroe for a fourth night and could not be happier that another hotel had a room. This was my first experience with Comfort Suites and it will only be a last resort hotel in the future. read more
