    My stay at the Courtyard Marriott was extremely disappointing. The WiFi didn't work, the bathroom light was broken, and the card reader outside of the hotel failed. Worst of all, my hotel room door would not lock. A housekeeper told me to leave it because he would fix it, which was unacceptable from a safety standpoint. I requested housekeeping for a refresh because my room had no clean towels or washcloths, and the tissue box was empty. The refresh never occurred. Dani advised me that she contacted housekeeping and even showed me that she did, but the request was ignored. She explained that a basketball team was staying on my floor, so housekeeping didn't have enough time to clean or even refresh my room with towels. Dani said something about taking off my bill for the inconvenience, but that never happened. That was truly insult to injury. Pros: parking is excellent and staff is friendly. Cons: everything else. I don't not recommend staying here.

    Keela at the front desk is awesome!! The facilities are being renovated in sections and the available rooms are subpar. The sofa bed had a stained mattress.The air conditioning unit was filthy with insects. Hopefully after renovations are done, these issues will be resolved.     It seems I arrived after the renovations were completed because this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. After reading most of the recent reviews prior to booking I was a little unsure of what to expect but I booked it anyway because of the limited hotel choices in the area, if you travel to Monroe you know what I mean. The exterior of the hotel looked well maintained and my first impression of the lobby instilled a sense of calmness, the checkin experience was a breeze and my first interaction with the staff was extremely pleasant, my reservation was handled very professional and didn't take but a few minutes. I am a rewards member and I'm sure this expedites things so if you travel you know the importance of this, the personal attention usually outweighs the perks most major chains understand it's all about the customer service and the reward program is a thank you. The room was very clean and appears to have been recently updated although I will say the hotel proximity to the highway is a little annoying in regards to the noise I had room that wasn't facing the highway and I could still hear the traffic. The Bistro off the lobby opens at 6:30 AM and definitely worth trying the breakfast options they are fresh, delicious and very reasonably price. If you've stayed away during the construction I'd recommend returning it's what we've come to expect from the Marriott Brand...

    JULY 13, 2021 I wish I could give ZERO STARS. My friend stayed here for a work trip and I'm writing this review on her behalf. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE! No matter how cheap or how many Marriott bonvoy points you have, IT IS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Please look at the images I've attached and the message she sent me regarding what the hotel staff did. This is a sanitary issue. This is a health violation. This is NOT okay. I wouldn't stay here if it was the last hotel in the world. Put me outside with the birds, bugs and bees. One thing about the hotel industry is KEEPING CLEAN ESPECIALLY DURING COVID TIMES. Like how is this okay? I can't wait to call corporate and see how they plan to fix this issue. The last review written 17 days before me is very much accurate. And the last review before THAT was a year ago! Please, Do NOT support such a disgusting establishment. Because of THIS, I'm not sure if I'm Team Marriott anymore!

    Stayed on September 5 checked in around midnight and checked out around 6-7 am in the morning. The hotel was gross. Cockroaches all over my room! I took pictures and went to the front desk. The lady upfront told me that the GM or Corporate could give me a refund. I submitted a ticket with Marriot and the GM Michael Swanner denied the claim without reason.

    I have a general complaint about Courtyard Marriott's; they always put the air conditioner unit close to and pointing directly at the desk chair. So, if you are sitting at the desk working, you have freezing cold air blowing on you... it should be on the other side of the room, or centered under the window. I usually don't have any problems, other than the AC issue, at Courtyard locations... but I did have a couple of specific issues with this one. When I arrived in my room, I took off my shoes and immediately, my feet were soaking wet... apparently they had just steamcleaned the carpet and it was still wet... so, I asked for a new room. I was moved to another floor into a room that smelled strongly of cigarettes, but by this time, I was tired of moving and just accepted it. Aside from these issues, the service was good and the lobby was nice. I visited the gym and they had all the equipment I needed. BOTTOM LINE: Courtyard's are usually pretty consistent in being a good hotel chain for busines travelers... this hotel is not one of their marque locations, but then again, its in Monroe, LA.

I arrived just after 11p to check in. Levi was at the desk and told me the hotel was sold out. I showed him my email confirmation. He repeated they were sold out and canceled my reservation. I asked if the hotel would be putting me up someplace else. He told me it was up to me to figure it out and he didn't know the hotel policy for this and he left. It was 1130pm and they were sending a single female out in a strange city to fend for herself! Not okay. I was able to get some help from Ciera when I explained it to her. She was able to get me a room at the West Monroe location after midnight, but only for 1 night and at a higher rate. Ciera would have Denice (manager) call me in the morning. I went there and they said I had to check out in the morning. I checked out at 830am, Denice never called so I went back, she was not there and this hotel was still sold out. Left it up to me again. Luckily a room opened up at the West Monroe location and I was then able to stay there for the remaining 5 nights, again for more money than my original reservation. I have tried to reach Denice multiple times and to this day I have not heard a word from her. We are Hilton gold members. We travel a decent amount. This is not how things are handled when you oversell.

I believe there are only 5 or so rooms and on street parking is nice. Coming off I20 we passed through a bit of sketch but the building is in nice area. Notice the PD was only a few blocks away. We felt safe for our entire stay. As mentioned area seems to be growing new businesses so we hit the easy button on evening meal. There is new BBQ place on corner 100' from Hamilton House. I'll review it soon as I catch up. We stayed in the Alexis suite. We found it clean along with the other areas of the establishment. You take a partial step back in time as you hoof the stairs and make entry but all the modern conveniences are present. Bathroom and shower real nice and bed comfy. There's a nice back deck off the huge kitchen area. We ear marked that for another stay where the heat might not be so high but one could sit and relax under the shade and can almost anytime. Morning breakfast was served up nicely and the food delish. Some kind of breakfast egg casserole. We enjoyed light conversation with our cook and general proprietor learning how the family worked to update and start the place. We really liked the quiet and laid back time we spent even if overnight only. Much nicer that hitting a chain hotel. I understand they are constructing a brewery just a block away and visible from the back deck if that's your sort of thing. You should slow down off the interstate and give them a try!

As part of a group that frequently stays in Monroe for 44-day stretches, finding reliable accommodations is crucial. Despite some promising aspects, particularly the friendly staff and well-maintained lobby, my experience with housekeeping has been notably disappointing. Let's start with the positives. The breakfast at TownePlace Suites is consistently good, offering a decent selection that helps kickstart the day. The staff members are undeniably friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with any requests and inquiries. The lobby area is kept tidy, creating a positive first impression upon arrival. However, the issue lies with the housekeeping service, which has been incredibly unreliable. In the six weeks we stayed at TownePlace Suites, our rooms were cleaned only twice, despite repeated requests. Prior to booking, we had been warned by former colleagues to expect issues with housekeeping, and for their next visit they would pick a different hotel. We choose to give the hotel a chance, since a recent experience with Marriott was great. Unfortunately, the warnings were justified. Upon check-in, We were informed by the front desk that housekeeping would occur every other day. However, this has not been the case. After the first week of irregular service, I reached out to speak with a manager. The manager was busy at the time, but the lady at the front desk took the message and sent housekeeping right away. The response was prompt, but the interaction was awkward as I was immediately visited by a housekeeper who claimed the housekeeping services was every five days. Despite assurances, by the General Manager the situation did not improve. Several days passed without any housekeeping, and my co-worker resorted to calling the front desk again. On one occasion, a member of the housekeeping team offered fresh towels, but this did not address the larger issue of cleanliness and bed linen changes. We got two fresh clean sheets during our entire stay of 6 weeks. The first after our complaint on the 2nd week and the last on the 3rd week. After the third week, we notice the bed was being made by house keepers, but the bedsheets were not change!!. As we open the bed sheets you could see our hair from prior nights, and also stains that clearly showed it was the same bedsheets. In addition, there were bugs in the room, for which my co-worked request to be change to a different room, only to experience the same issue. I was so disappointed I didn't even bother anymore since all my request fell on deaf ears. Regrettably, my experience is not unique among my colleagues staying at TownePlace Suites. Several of them have voiced similar frustrations regarding inconsistent housekeeping services. One of my colleagues switch hotels after the second week. In conclusion, while TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Monroe has its merits such as friendly staff and a pleasant lobby environment, the significant shortcomings in housekeeping service overshadow these positives. Anyone considering an extended stay here, should be prepared to manage expectations regarding room cleanliness and maintenance. Having prior experience in the hospitality industry as a business owner, I am writing to you for you to know our experience during our stay. As business owner I always liked the feedback and reviews from my costumers in order to make my business better.

Then I was asked "Did you let the water run for a while?" instead of an apology for the inconvenience. So we ended up moving into another room. By this point, I'm exhausted of the experience, but it doesn't stop there. We get to the room and it was extremely hot as if the ac was never turned on. Then the tv wasn't working initially along with the WiFi. The tv had chips/cracks in it and the hot water STILL wasn't working properly in the bathroom. They have coffee makers in the rooms so the next day, I wanted to make some coffee just to discover that there was brown water in the top of the maker as if NO ONE decided to clean it before. I was extremely disgusted at this point and highly disappointed. That same morning, we get a bang at the door stating that housekeeping is there to clean the room due to check out. Mind you this is only our first day after getting in the night prior and we had the room for two days. When we explain to the staff that we still have the room for one more day, we were met with "Are you sure?" as if we had a reason to lie. They had to contact the front desk who also said over the walkie that were to be checked out, but when they were told about the situation, they ended up confirming that we had one more night. So that alone let me know that no one communicates with each other either. How is it that no one knew that we had not only switched rooms, but not know how long we were actually meant to stay?? I was extremely happy to get out of there the next day because I've never had such a horrible experience at a hotel, let alone a Hilton. There was trash in the halls, rooms, parking lot. I wish I had gotten photos at the time, but I know I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unfortunately.

I did not stay at this hotel. My invoice has me checking in, switching rooms mid stay, and checking out late. I have been making every effort to call the hotel and speak with the Manager Catherine. I have made over a dozen calls, every time May has told me different reasons I could not speak to Catherine. May has lead me to believe she was the manager and has told the Choice call Center she was the Manager. The 4 times the Call center has contacted the property the Manager has been unavailable to talk to them Manager is out walking the property Manager is on another call Manager took her Mom to a doctors appt The manager is at city hall Manager called in sick today Manager will return my call. I have left my number with May several times. May would not give me the managers name. May has hung up on me numerous times. May has argued with me several times when I said I did not stay at the hotel. She said I checked in with my phone number. I told her I cancelled my reservation to stay at the Best Western, she argued there was no best westerns in the area. I have traveled the world and every time my experience has been the Hotel has required a Drivers License and credit card at check in. At check in, Hotels have me sign a card agreeing to the cost, rules, and adding my Car's plate number etc. Is there a check in card? the check in card. This past Saturday, I did speak to Carissa. She was very professional, curtesy, and told me the Manager would be on property on Monday (today) she gave me the managers name and hotel e-mail. I did speak with Catherine today. She is refunding me 2 of the 3 nights because I did not cancel the reservation per hotel policy. She also told me her staff knows the standing policy for no shows to charge one nights rate. I did ask for a full refund, she declined. My rational is if this was told to me over 1 month ago when I initially reached out to hotel regarding the charge. I would have owned my responsibility and this wouldn't have got further with numerous calls and wasted minutes of the hotel staff, call center, and my time. We went out to dinner before dark, when we returned it was dark and the entire parking lot and front door area were in total darkness. This is a big safety and security issue for all guests and employees. There was no one at the front desk to inquire why no lights. In the morning we followed a trail of dirt from someone's room to elevator and into the breakfast area. There were employees around but did not seem concerned about cleaning up the dirt. We will never stay here again. I will give the hotel 1 star only because we had clean sheets.

The swimming pool in August was always occupied and noisy with kids playing so if that bothers you get a room away from the pool because you will hear them. The breakfast was terrible. The eggs were the fake kind and especially awful. Even the sausage was bad which I don't get, but they had a weird texture. I was especially surprised to see the woman who monitors the breakfast sitting on the couch in the lobby vaping!! Really? Not a good look and probably not even ok by the management. The parking lot was difficult to find, you have to drive through the gas station to get to it. If there was another way to get in there, not sure where it was. Also, the desk staff parked under the drive through where you would normally stop (in the shade) to get your key when you check in. Couldn't do that be cause the staff person parked there. And the water from the faucet and in the toilet was a rust color! They really should give you bottled water if that is the case... No tissue in the tissue holder. When I asked at the front desk they said they did not have any. The price was ok, but I would not stay there again.
