My wife found this little tucked away place for over night stay on way home from FL beach trip. West Monroe at least around the area of B&B has the hip vibe and seems to be growing. I believe there are only 5 or so rooms and on street parking is nice. Coming off I20 we passed through a bit of sketch but the building is in nice area. Notice the PD was only a few blocks away. We felt safe for our entire stay. As mentioned area seems to be growing new businesses so we hit the easy button on evening meal. There is new BBQ place on corner 100' from Hamilton House. I'll review it soon as I catch up. We stayed in the Alexis suite. We found it clean along with the other areas of the establishment. You take a partial step back in time as you hoof the stairs and make entry but all the modern conveniences are present. Bathroom and shower real nice and bed comfy. There's a nice back deck off the huge kitchen area. We ear marked that for another stay where the heat might not be so high but one could sit and relax under the shade and can almost anytime. Morning breakfast was served up nicely and the food delish. Some kind of breakfast egg casserole. We enjoyed light conversation with our cook and general proprietor learning how the family worked to update and start the place. We really liked the quiet and laid back time we spent even if overnight only. Much nicer that hitting a chain hotel. I understand they are constructing a brewery just a block away and visible from the back deck if that's your sort of thing. You should slow down off the interstate and give them a try! read more

Great little spot! Stayed here the evening of June 15, 2019 in the Magdalena room. Beautiful room, wonderful bed and bedding, great towels, shower, and plenty of room. Very luxurious and relaxing. The outside deck is great for drinks and relaxing and subset views. Very quiet area of town, and great location to Ouachita Brewing and restaurants. Check in process is pretty smooth, just call the number by the door and they give you a number to enter for check in. (I think it would be easier to just have this code before check-in, but, my opinion. ) Very quiet place, even though there several other rooms and a banquet hall near by. The breakfast in the morning was relatively lack luster on the morning of 7-16-19. I was hoping for a more traditional bed and breakfast style, eggs, bacon, biscuits, something more southern. So, breakfast was a 3/5. Definitely not the same experience most other reviewers expressed they received. Did not meet the infamous, Tanya, other reviewers mentioned, so that was disappointing. Great place overall, room and location were 5 stars! I recommend checking this place out! read more

We stumbled across this Inn by accident, and I'm so glad we did!!! Sean (proprietor) was so pleasant and accommodating!!! Our room was absolutely perfect, and just as pictured. The bed was super comfortable, pillows were just right, and the bath was outstanding!!! Sean prepared breakfast each morning, served along side his Mom's homemade peach preserves. We had French Toast, omelettes, breakfast casserole, and fresh fruit each day. The Inn has 2 large balconies on the back and the front, along with fireplaces inside. It faces multiple antique shops, as well as restaurants. It is very convenient to shopping, the River view, but still far enough away to have safety & privacy. We never had any intention of visiting this town again, but after this visit, we will come just to stay at Hamilton House Inn!!! read more

I almost rather not review Hamilton House for the fear everyone will find out about it and it will be months before you can make a reservation!! Because i plan on coming back. Now im going to try to be brief. Disclaimer...i said TRY. First, 5 Stars isnt enough. Rented the entire space, rooms and venue, for my mother's milestone birthday this Memorial Day weekend. Perfect place to house your out of town guests or if you are planning the event and want/need to be close by. So convenient. Tonya and her son Shaun (sp) were so accommodating and willing to make the preparations for the event as effortless as possible. Literally six months out planning, at first not much to talk about but the basics but as the time drew near almost once every other day. Tonya's mantra this weekend..."If you need anything let me know, I may have it". Whatever question i had she was a text or a phone call away. The Rooms: One word...Spectacular!!! Each room is individually decorated. Like they are out of the pages of a design magazine. I only took pictures of my room the Delia, however my family/friends all stated how nice and comfortable the rooms were. After a hard day of running around planning, it was a blessing to face plant on those memory foam pillows and mattress. All rooms come with a television, individual bathrooms (heck my bathroom had two shower heads!! Mega points earned) free Wi/Fi and all the necessary cable channels you need. I'm not a Golfer but my best friend is and he was quite content watching the Golf Channel in his room. There is such a thing? Decks on both the front and back of the building to lounge on if you desire fresh air. Outdoor ceiling fans on the back deck provided much needed breezes. Venue: The Gallery is perfect for a small to midsize event. There is a loft area which i placed the DJ. A fully functional kitchen with two refrigerators and ovens (no stove top but there are warming plates). Great counterspace. My caterer didnt seem to have any issues as well as a bar area. The exposed brick and Hardwood flooring made for a upscale modern look and warm atmosphere. Now this is a Bed & Breakfast so let's get to my favorite part, BREAKFAST. Since we rented the entire space, Tonya asked ahead of time for our preferences, though im confident she does it for all her guests regardless. It made us feel extra special. We didn't request anything extraordinary, however Tonya put it down in the kitchen. Waffles, Pancakes, Biscuits, Fresh Fruit, Quiche, Grits, Eggs, Sausage, Juices, Jams and the paramount best of all BACON BACON BACON. Now i can't say what she put on that bacon but i would fight a Bull barehanded if i thought it would get in her way of preparing it. Enough said. If youre not a bacon lover as I. She will prepare something to fit your tastes. If you've read this far Kudos to you. I had to speak my truth and the truth is I Love Hamilton House. PS - Tonya and her family (Tom is her husband, shout out to Tom) have rehabbed and refurbished this building on their own and in a small town you wouldn't expect. It is truly a hidden gem and you owe it to yourself to enjoy its offerings. PPS - If you have trouble navigating or are opposed to stairs, Hamilton House does not have an elevator. This was NOT A PROBLEM at all just feel the reader should know. read more

What a great find on our way home to Austin. The rooms are spacious and the outside roof top patio is a nice treat. Home cooked breakfast. The only negative is there are about 20 stairs to the main floor level. We're in our seventies and don't travel light. If stairs don't bother you, it is a wonderful and very affordable place to stay. This is an absolute gem of a place we wouldn't have found without Yelp. The owner, Tonya is an absolute sweetheart who is only a text or phone call away if you need anything. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed with amazingly comfortable beds. Our room's shower was so large that two people could have easily showered at the same time! The tv had satellite. Ms. Tonya can COOK and cook she did! Like the other reviewers have said, her bacon is nothing short of magical. We paid 120 a night and that's a steal. We were driving through Louisiana and decided to stop in West Monroe. We searched hotels in the area and found Hamilton House Inn. It was a last minute stop on a Sunday evening, and we called and talked to Tanya, the owner/innkeeper and she was very accommodating. We had dinner at Walk On's Bar and Bistreaux (sports bar, which I would not recommended), and then called her to meet us at the Inn. The accommodations were lovely. The bed was very comfortable, The linens were of quality, the shower was very spacious, and everything seemed warm and welcoming. Breakfast was not served at a specific time- Tonya was just there to fix it whenever you were ready. We had coffee and then for breakfast she made scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and blueberry scones. After we finished breakfast, we walked around the area of the old downtown. Most of the buildings are little antique shops, or boutiques. There are a few salons in the area and City Hall. Diagonal from the Inn is Miss Kay's sweets and treats. They make everything from scratch, and we had a nice lunch there on the patio. West Monroe is actually a charming little spot with a lot of history. If you're nearby, go check it out and stay with Tonya at the Hamilton House! read more

If you're ever in Monroe/West Monroe, make it a point to stay at the Hamilton House Inn. Its something you will not regret doing. Tonya and her family have made this a BEAUTIFUL place to stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated and offer a comfortable, inviting feeling from the moment you walk through the door. Everything about the inn is so comfortable, from the beds to the atmosphere. Its located in the Antique Alley section of West Monroe and the balcony offers a great view of the downtown area. On top of the comfortable rooms and ambiance, the food served at breakfast is to die for! Tonya has some sort of magical recipe for her bacon. I've never tasted anything like it anywhere else. Its a highlight for us by far! She also makes great muffins, quiches and eggs. Its all so good. Best of all is the opportunity to get a chance to talk to Tonya and her family, who are some of the nicest people that my wife and I have met in our travels. I can't say enough good things about this place! It is tastefully decorated, very clean and very comfortable. I hate travelling due to to staying in other beds besides my own, but the bed here was an absolute cloud. I slept so well and awoke to a delicious breakfast being made. If you need to stay in West Monroe for an event or fun, this is the place to stay! It was a little hectic when I first arrived due to a bridal party taking photos outside my room, but all was well once things settled down. The rooms are gorgeous! You can tell each detail was well-thought-out. The bed was extremely comfortable! I felt at home right away. The bathroom is beautiful as well! I was in the Renate room and highly recommend it. I would love to give this place 4.5 stars if possible. It was just a little confusing when I arrived and was not sure where the owner was for a while, but there is a phone number to contact when needed. The owner is a very pleasant person. I could also hear conversations in the room across from me at night, but no one stayed up talking too late. Therefore, I slept very well in the comfy bed. The breakfast was delicious! An egg dish, bacon, cranberry muffins, and delicious cheese grits filled me up for half a day! Next time I am in West Monroe, I will stay here again for sure! *Note: If you have never been to West Monroe before, the water is a light brownish tint. It has been this was for year. This is normal for the whole area. Other hotels will have the same water. They will provide bottle water to drink, but the tap water is fine for bathing and what-not. read more

A beautiful venue and inn to rent! Tonya was very helpful and courteous! We rented the space for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. It was an easy place to decorate with a great ambience! There is a full kitchen in the back with 2 wall ovens and 2 burners to keep items warm. It is nestled in Antique Alley. Tons of parking is available. My sister came in from Texas and rented 3 of the rooms above the venue. Each room has its own bathroom and a kitchen is upstairs as well with a back patio! We had a little help with it being a ton of fun because the Christmas Parade took place the same day as our event for the evening. The whole area was buzzing with things to do and tons of people moving around all day. For real Tonya, I don't think we could have had a more perfect day if we had this event somewhere else! read more

Sadly when I went to refill my coffee the couple after us was feed and we where still waiting. We unfortunately had to leave without eating because of time. My family and I are extremely particular about where we lay our heads away from home. This place felt like our home away from home. The hostess, Tonya, was very amicable, sweet and attentive to your needs as a guest in her home. The rooms are gorgeous, immaculate, very clean and well decorated! The bed slept like a cloud thats slowly rocks you into sweet sleep, and upon entry of the room, you are hit with a light and lovely aromatic fragrance scent. Want to relax in a spa like bathroom? The Hamilton Inn did not disappoint. Large shower with dual shower heads. Breakfast was delicious, made hot and fresh, and the fruit were sweet and fresh. My husband, who is a stickler for every thing stated upon getting in the bed, " I don't know why, but i trust this place, i do". You could have knocked me over with a feather.
