We had a king bed room and there was a large sitting area with a couch and tv. The continental breakfast was from 6-9 and I had a bagel with cream cheese and my husband made a breakfast sandwich. I've stayed here a few times. Tiffany has checked me in at the front desk more than once, and is always extremely helpful and so inviting that I hope she's working every time I come. The rooms are clean with great pillows. The alarm clock and plugs have C and USB ports. The style of the room is welcoming and coffee table has a stool in it. I'm in a wheelchair and I'm able to easily use the bathroom sink and toilet without having to get a wheelchair accessible room. Breakfast is eggs and sausage and biscuits and gravy and they have bold coffee which is delicious. there are other food choices for breakfast as. I stayed in room 105. The room was hot and took over 12 hours to cool down when I arrived. No one was ever at the front desk. At one point 3 employees were all outside smoking while I sat waiting for someone to help me for over 10 minutes. At other times they are in the back. There was a HUGE roach in the hallway. The shower head in my room was so old the rubber pieces were disintegrating. The business center is not free to use as with other Choice hotels. They charge for copies. I'm not in the hotel business but I do think it would be common sense to put herds of elephants, WWF wrestlers and small children on the ground floor. I'm not sure which of the above we were woken up to by from 7 to 9 am but it was definitely one of them above us. Also the door to our room didn't fit well so there was a constant stream of light which gave our room a steady unwanted glow The tv was completely confusing and we gave up on that entirely We later found that the stream of light under the door was to prepare us for the ill fitted curtains which allow laser beams of light at sunrise Also the shower was outdated and uninviting Wouldn't totally UN recommend The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly so it earned 2 stars PS The icing on the cake was that after the occupants left around 9:15 the housekeeping staff came in at 9:45 and started moving furniture and vacuuming...... This was a mid priced hotel $100 plus per night booked through booking.com. If I could have slept in my truck I would have. I have literally never stayed in a room this degraded and this hotel is not ancient. This is total lack of concern for guest. I did not unpack a single thing. The sofa is ripped in multiple places cushions basically falling apart. Chair has stains all over it We checked the bed for bedbugs and thank heaven found no signs. The bed was hard. The pillows were like rocks. Bathroom only had one single wash cloth in it. The mirror in the bathroom had finger prints on it. Luckily I keep a can of Lysol with me when I travel and always go in and spray everything before bringing any belongings in. Extremely disappointed with the quality this room should have been a $39 a night special. I only hope other rooms are not like this one. read more

This was such a necessary Texas staycation. I was in town for my nephew's bday. Had a great time being able to relax in their super clean tub and rest on their spacious bed. Next time maybe I'd be with a friend. The cleaning lady here was so nice on my first day here. There are definitely healthy options here for breakfast so eat well! read more

Looks to be a nice, middle-upper hotel in most aspects but needs maintenance. Nice pool and spa area. Front desk let us have an extra 30 minutes as we got in late. Desk has a lower pull-out that is handy; fridge and microwave in room. Handicap ramp access is not available at the end doors. I had to go through the main lobby. Rooms seem very nice until you look close: dark lighting; walls, doors, door frames need to be wiped down; toilet paper holder needs cleaned on more than the end (see photo); paint is starting to chip in spots; mattresses on both beds were awful - hard on the edges, soft in the middle; one bed too close to partition so you could barely get in or out; shower has fixed head that is hard for short people to reach; bathroom counter curves out into standing space by toilet making it hard for more than one person to come in (necessary if you have kids or an adult that needs help. Front desk did bring us a shower chair promptly upon request. Breakfast offering had a good variety of hot and cold foods. Would probably stay here again for just the pool and spa. read more

$99 dollars is a great rate for this hotel. They have free wifi, large pool and jacuzzi. This Comfort Suites is only four years old, and the rooms are very nice and smell new. The bed and pillows are so comfortable, and I had the best night of sleep. They have free breakfast - eggs, sausage links and patties, cereal, oatmeal, apple and orange juice, coffee (all day long), yogurt, pastries, and bagels. The breakfast is actually decent for just a hotel breakfast. This makes the $99 a night rate even more worth it. We ask them for a late checkout, and they said we had to leave by 1:00PM. Normal checkout is at 11:00AM. They have good customer service, and so much parking close to the entrance of the hotel. When I called the front desk from my room I did not have to wait more than three rings before someone answered. The only negative thing I have on this hotel is that there a lot of crickets in the emergency stairwells, and in the indoor pool area. Their gym does not have free weights. They have one treadmill, one weight machine, and one stair master. These are the only reasons I have giving them four stars. Thanks! read more

Forced to use Wifi on our own devices, the wifi was spotty. Put sign outside door early in the morning for a towel refresh. Came back 10 hours later, they said they had no clean towels. No clean towels all day!!!! After visiting the state park I was not happy to come back to no tv and no towels. read more

I'm writing this review since the Comfort Suites web site is obtuse. We came with a group reserving ten rooms running from Hurricane Harvey which is hitting our Rockport TX home. This was the only hotel in Bastrop taking pets. The staff has been GREAT. It is a stressful time for all of my people, and the hotel has been way over our expectations. I did call their customer helpline to praise them. If you have pets and are staying in Bastrop I can't praise these people enough! read more

Sad, to say the least. Very filthy, each room I check into is always unsanitary. Always rags left behind, shower mold, toilets barely work, hot water doesn't work. There are so many maintenance issues, from the look of the algae infested pool... to the broken toilets. The young gal that checked me in overnight was visibly drunk! And super short with every answer as if I was bothering her. The manager isn't friendly, she's actually just ready for you to pay. She solves nothing, never helps anything. And she will duck and dodge every single phone call. Breakfast is all the way warmed up, even the omelets..... which are EGGS. Overall a filthy, stingy, poor managed hotel. Please, for the sake of your own money and sanity, do not stay here. read more

I'd give this establishment 0 stars if that was an option. My daughter and I were in town for competition for her extra-curriculars. Check in was at 3PM. We arrived at 4:30PM. Room not ready. We waited for the housekeeper to finish. We rushed inside and grabbed what my daughter needed and headed out to the comp.In the room maybe 15 minutes. We arrived back at the hotel at 11PM and notice there's no toilet paper. The room is dirty. There's fingerprints all over the mirror. Only 1 towel in the bathroom (room was to sleep 4) and the bathtub had to be cleaned by yours truly before my daughter could shower. (Soap scum and hair everywhere!) They charge a premium fee for this location (I paid over $320 for 1 night!). This wasn't worth $100! I definitely recommend staying ANYWHERE else in Bastrop but here. read more

The hotel is in a convenient location and I felt safe parking my truck and trailer around the back side of the building. This is a pretty decent offering from Choice Hotels. Had to stay here for a job I was at in Austin because SxSW was going on and this was the most affordable place in the area. The room was spacious, water pressure good, water temp good, beds are comfortable and the breakfast was edible. It wasn't the easiest place to find as the other hotels in the area had better signage and were lit up better. It is right next to 71 and getting on the highway is pretty easy. Bucee's is just up the road aways for supplies and gas. For folks who are going to Austin but don't want to pay Austin prices this is a decent option. If there is a downside to that it would be the drive to and from Austin. Traffic this way is freakin brutal. I have been traveling 71 for years now and I would say it is one area where after much building of new roads and such the traffic has actually gotten worse. But don't hold that against this hotel. read more

Like others we weren't very excited about a chain hotel in a small town. We booked under a group rate for a wedding taking place at then nearby Lost Pines Resort. Then lobby is clean, modern and very nice. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Then room was very large. We had a double queen that included a seating area with couch and love seat, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was also a large desk and arm chair. The TV was a good sized flat screen with lots of channels. TMobile service is patchy in the area so the free wifi was very helpful. The bathroom was nice, very clean and roomier than expected. The indoor pool was enjoyed by my 13 yr old daughter. They also have a gym but it could use an elliptical machine. I made do with the treadmill. Breakfast was great. Fresh make them yourself waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, breads, cereals and yogurt. Coffee, milk and juices. If we ever go to Bastrop again we will definitely stay here. read more

I was very impressed with Comfort Suites, especially considering the price. We headed to Austin for a weekend trip. My husband was going kayak fishing on the Colorado River. So I called the front desk a day before we got there and asked if there was anyway we could get a first floor room because we didn't want to leave his kayak on his truck all night. They informed me the first floor was reserved for those guests who have pets (which I thought was awesome! None of the other rooms are allowed pets), but they would try their best to accommodate us. Upon arrival they looked up our reservation and stated they had set aside a first floor room for us so we could take care of his kayak. We were very pleased with this. Rooms were very spacious (even with a 14 foot kayak). Nice king size bed, fridge, microwave, couch, and nice spacious bathroom. Bed was very comfortable as well. My daughter had plenty of room to crash on the couch. They have breakfast every morning, and it was pretty good. The pool and spa area were nice as well. Nice that they have towels in the pool area. They do have a little snack bar as well. All of the staff was so nice, rooms were nice, location was nice. All around great place! read more

When I Checked into this hotel one of the first things I was told was "only registered guests can use the pool". When I stay in Bastrop I always have the intent of having my grandchildren visit with me there and the highlight is to use the pool at the hotel. I was advised by the hotel clerk that my grandchildren were not welcome to use the pool. Also this hotel only serves breakfast til 9:00 a.m. After 9am you are out of luck. TWO THUMBS AND A PAW WAY UP... My husband and I stayed here for over three months because of a fire in our home. We could not have asked for more being in this situation. The ENTIRE staff was warm and hospitable, including the housekeepers. This hotel is CLEAN. The owner is on site and very involved and concerned. This is a pet friendly hotel and our Zoe is an exceptional dog; she was with us quite a while and the staff loved her (even she was comfortable). Fridge and microwave, free breakfast, good reliable free internet access, and a great pool/whirlpool and workout room just add to the large rooms, with very comfy beds (again, over three months and no back pain). Great location if no vehicle; walk to Walgreens, Taco Bell, liquor store, McDonalds. Walmart is right around the corner. Rates extremely competitive for what you get. I stayed here while a family member attended South by Southwest. I was able to shuttle him easily to the airport where he could take a bus in to the Convention Center. My personal experience was very pleasant and the staff, managed by Joan could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable. The pool and workout facility were well kept also. I would definitely stay there again. read more

We thought we would get away and take a drive to Bastrop for the July 4th festival. I recently stayed in a Comfort Suites in Ennis, TX and loved the place. So it was easy for us to choose this place for our stay in Bastrop. Sadly, not the same standards. The room was a very nice size and looked fairly new. But when we pulled back the sheets there was a hair on the pillowcase, and some sort of clump of something that we couldn't guess what it was, some stain that looked like blood on the sheet and a spider under another pillow. There was some sort of black line on the sheet,.. mascara maybe? We called the desk and asked if the bedding could be changed and she politely told us that when her relief came, she would come change the sheets. We left the room and enjoyed the town of Bastrop. When we returned we checked and the sheets had been changed. I didn't sleep well though with thoughts of spiders in the bed going through my head. The breakfast was below the standard of my previous stay in Ennis, but still nice not to have to go hunt down morning coffee and a little something to eat. read more
