Well Ive stayed 32 nights in hotels this year and this is one of the worst. AC in upgraded room was terrible. The cook set the fire alarm off at 6 am. One of the employees said it happens all the time. Not one person apologized for the interruption. I chatted in and the person that answered showed no empathy at all and acted like they didn't care. I gave them a chance to make things right and they weren't interested. Sounds like theres a real management problem in this hotel. Definitely not a great Diamond member experience. The GM, TJ and her team have been absolutely FANTASTIC! We had a lovely stay - the suites were just perfect. Nathaniel is a rock star at the front desk! Helpful, kind, attentive and patient. He didn't break a sweat as our little circus rolled into the front door. What a super kind gentleman! Our director went goo goo ga ga for the homemade cookies! The other staff members were lovely. The check in process was easy, quick and no issues, once check in was completed we got to the room and it looked great. The next morning I did notice that the couch and the ottoman were stained from what looks like water and there were obvious dark spots on the head and armrest. Looking under the desk in the middle of the room the carpet looked as if it was beginning to wear and that the vacuum had possibly sucked up the carpet and tore a piece out of it. The pool and hot tub looked amazing however were not utilized due to time constraints. The white curtain in the room nearest to the bed did have a large stain on the bottom of it as if someone had dropped pizza or left a red stain on it. The breakfast was the best part of the hotel as I did enjoy what was being served and there were plentiful of food and not having to wait in lines of for food to be filled up was a bonus. I would stay here again and the items I mentioned will be fixed for the next visit. read more

Pros Clean rooms, and a great location. 1.5 miles away from downtown Bastrop, very close to the Colorado River, and 10 miles away from Bastrop and Buescher State Parks. HEB Plus and a Walmart are within walking distance, along with many fast food and table service restaurants. In room coffee maker, but no mini fridge, or microwave. Hampton Inn & Suites seem to be random about the mini fridges and microwaves in the room - sometimes they have them, other times, they don't. I'll let you know when I figure out the pattern. Cons NOISY! Get a room on the top floor if you can. You can hear the people upstairs stomping around all night, and again in the morning when you wake up. It's bad. One morning during my visit, I was awakened by two women talking loudly (no, they weren't in my room). It sounded like they were right outside of my door, but they weren't. They must have been in an adjacent room, but it was CRAZY loud. Not sure if this is a pro or a con, but your stay includes a free breakfast. Depending on the day of the week, this chain serves pre-made omelets (yuk), or scrambled eggs (powdered eggs), and bacon, or processed sausage patties. There's a waffle maker, a little bit of fruit, and a variety of cereal. I used the phone app to check in, so I had no interaction with staff. Worse than motel 6!!! Terrible all the way around. If I could give a quarter of a star I would. This is going to be a bit long but honest. Upon arrival the hotel had a distinct smell of mold and must like stinky armpits. It was my first time staying at Hilton rather than Marriott so I wasn't sure what to expect and brushed it off. I traveled to bastrop and stayed here with my family when we got news that my siblings mother passed away. I made sure to let them know we were there due to a death and to plan funeral services. There was an issue with the physical key, we had to ask for a new one 3/4 times. That's no big deal I could look past that. After a while we wanted to go to the less than average, half star pool in attempt to distract our minds from everything. My mobile key and physical key would not open the pool door. After many attempts we went to the front desk and Katie acted as though we were bothering her -- she had a terrible attitude and simply walked away ignoring me after opening the door. Ok sure I can look past the attitude we all have bad days. 5-10 minutes later I wanted to go outside, so I tried going out of the exit door in the same room as the pool. It would not open and by that time I had seen so many flaws that I again brushed it off and decided to wait. Heather -- who clearly uses hard drugs like meth or fentanyl and is a front desk MANAGER came to the pool area to speak to us. She had a very aggressive attitude and was 100% unprofessional. She said that the exit door is to remained closed at all times. *Maybe you guys should put a sign up that we can't exit through there so that guests will know that instead of being expected to know.* She then began saying there are police officers staying in the hotel and then insinuated that we were using marijuana?????? She truly needs to work on how she speaks to guest. After that we decided to go back to the room so we wouldn't be bothered anymore. THEN HEATHER CAME KNOCKING ON OUR ROOM DOOR to bother us AGAIN. She aggressively started telling us that there are officers staying at the hotel as if she was nervous about that and then proceeded to insinuate my family uses marijuana. I got harassed by Katie and Heather the entire time we were there. The next morning I went to the front desk and spoke with Nathaniel. I asked if I could please speak with a manager to discuss my experience and honestly just how baffled I was by all of this. Michelle the assistant manager refused to speak with me twice. She said I need to wait 45 minutes until the general manager was there. After 45 minutes I went to ask if the GM was available. Michelle said no they are in a very important meeting. I asked to speak with michelle then and told her I only had a few minutes because I needed to be at the funeral home to discuss arrangements. She essentially told me "that's just how they are". She also began getting aggressive and smart assy. I also told her that the tiles in our bathroom were sticking out and move when you walk on them. The cover to the ac unit was broken and fell off multiple times randomly. The paint on the wall is patched and different colors. The awful smell. The missing caulk in the restroom. The issue with the room key etc. She tried making numerous excuses and said she will have a meeting with Heather and Katie. I honestly thought Hilton was comparable to Marriott (since there are no marriotts in this town), but NOT AT ALL. The Hampton inn is comparable to a motel 6, super 8, or just any other old rinky dink trashy cheap hotel. They should not be charging so much money for such an awful broken down hotel with terrible staff. You can tell the staff is from Shiloh by the way they act and treat you. I don't even recall seeing them smile once. If you don't like your job, find a new one. Be more respectful of people who are grieving especially 16 and 18 year olds who just lost their mother. If you are still reading this I genuinely hope you save yourself the stress and stay somewhere else. I wish I had taken more pictures of all the flaws. Do better... read more

This was the Super 8 by Hampton in Bastrop Texas! In my 40 years of traveling, This! was by far the WORST MOTEL IV'E EVER STAYED AT!. THE ONLY REASON I DON'T POST ZERO STARS IS BECAUSE THERE IS 'T ANY!!!The only accessible room they had was a smoking room! As it was non refundable and we had been traveling for about 4 hours we we're tired and just wanted to rest and relax. We were forced to accept it. As it was booked online! When i entered the room it was freaking disgusting . First it smelled to high hell, The bedding looked disgusting and dirty which i immediately took off the top blanket. the bathroom tub had hair in it and what looked like vomit on the walls next to the door and the commode There was a cigarette burn hole in the sheets and the pillows were flat and smelly Needless to say a quick trip to Walmart to buy towels, Blankets and pillows and smoke deodorizer and Lysol spray to disinfect. the room! There goes another $100.!!! When we woke up in the morning there were two roaches on the walls and curtains.... On my honor I WILL NEVER EVER STAY AT ANOTHER SUPER 8 MOTEL EVER!!! PS. Air conditioner works great. I found it to be a quiet hotel. No refrigerator and I had brought some cold items with me I had to improvise. Room is clean and they supplied extra towels and generous coffee pmts and tea in the room. The breakfast was the best I have ever had anywhere. They had a big variety of everything, 3 selections of cooked oatmeal, 4 selections of cold cereal, different flavors of waffle mix, scrambled eggs, omelets, hard boiled eggs, link sausage, patty sausage begals, danishes, muffins, all fresh! Orange juice, oj & mango mix, oj and banana mix, 4 types of coffee and all the flair creamers. ... and much much more! My husband and I, along with our dogs, were recently evacuated from our home due to a wildfire. We were terrified about losing our home and all of the hard work we had put into our acreage. The managers and staff at the Hampton Inn & Suites Bastrop were extremely kind to us during our stay. They waived the pet fee, understanding that we had few places to go with our dogs and gave us a great rate. The room we stayed in was perfect and the breakfast was amazing. Good: A/C works good, jacuzzi was nice. Breakfast was good. Bad: the check in is till 4pm.! I thought all hotels check in were at 3 anyway.. i had book 2 rooms and one was ready at 3pm the other till 4 now is past 4 and still waiting WTH? Floors in front of elevators were wet from people that comes in and out of the pool not even a wet floor sign. No fan in the restrooms. People walking with beer in the hallway and pool like they were at a party lol whateves. Anyaway... i jst need my room ugh Understand they can get busy but come on!!! Have your stuff ready.! I was greeted as a Hilton Honors member and check in was quick. Staff was friendly both at check in and as I dropped off the keys at checkout. The room was clean, fresh and plenty of electrical plugs and space. The water pressure in the shower was great and hot water was almost immediate. It was a quiet, restful night in a good bed. Breakfast was good with some great fruit and a good selection of warm and cold items. The breakfast area had a good atmosphere and we ended up visiting with a few other guests during breakfast. We left feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. A wonderful stay! read more

This was nice hotel, however the room amenities were lacking. We made reservation a month in advance to make sure we had the best room for a reasonable price. We wanted the suite as we were staying three nights to take in the Yesterfest celebrations There was no fridge or microwave, however they did bring a fridge the next day. Kind of surprised that the suite didn't come with this. Room was roomy and clean. Staff was helpful and courteous. The breakfast was ok but we have had much better at comparable hotels. We checked in a little after midnight. No hassles for the most part. Hotel was fully booked. Room was nice and clean. Tv had Directv. Breakfast in the morning was a little rough. There's only 1 waffle maker which can make for a long wait. They should have an extra waffle maker in the back for busier weekends. Sausage, eggs, fruit and biscuits were slow to be restocked. They also had juice, coffee, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, bagels and bread for toast. Overall a decent stay. read more

Not impressed with this Hampton Inn!! We had reserved a room with two queen beds. Check in was easy since we had checked in online prior to arrival. Got to our room and had to call down and ask for a fridge. We were told that since it was a newer hotel they weren't required to supply a fridge in the room but would go ahead and bring one up. About an hour later still no fridge and we needed to leave so called again and the desk staff was more polite and arranged to have it brought up quickly. Fridge they brought looked like something from a scratch and dent sale! Luckily it worked fine. Also had to request drinking cups and extra TP since none in room. Being a Hampton Inn run by Hilton we expected a much nicer room and we're disappointed in this one. Down the hall there was another banged up fridge similar to the one they put in our room that stayed out in the hallway all night and was still there when we checked out. Also the shower head was pulling out from the wall and had the cold and hot switched; hot lever gave cold water and vice versa; made for an interesting shower needless to say!! Have honestly had nicer stays at less expensive hotel chains. The staff seemed to try but just not pleased with this hotel. read more

Really unprofessional And not very smart . We have stayed in Hampton inns for years and we prefer to pay cash for a stay and keep a credit card on file for incidentals (as they call it ) and it has always worked fine . However this hotel clerk told me that we couldn't pay cash because if I stole the TV they could not charge me for it even though they have my credit card information on file. Really stupid. I guess they have had a bunch of TVs stolen so this might not be a very safe place to stay, moving to Holiday Inn Express for our second night of our stay. They are a Lot more friendly and have a little more common sense at the front desk. When we got into the room we were surprised by the low budget furniture, like garage sell stuff. The windows were dirty and the Sheetrock was peeling off the walls. Spider webs on walls and No refrigerator or microwave. This is not what we expected from a Hilton facility. read more

There were a string of car burglaries at this location and mine was one of them. I found out at the local window tinting place that this was the 6th one that he was aware of from this hotel, so that means there may be more. The break in happened early morning, 2 am, in the back of the hotel. there is only one way to the back of the building and these crooks are able to get in and out without detection. The clerk said that i was welcome to park up front. Hindsight being 20/20 and all, i had to laugh. I was staying in the king room with jacuzzi that overlooks the back of the hotel, so that is where i parked. This was the second stay here and we had no problems before. If you drive a heavy duty truck, the car burglars are looking for potential rifles that could be in the truck. They broke the window but the tint held. They got nothing from me but my time. read more

Checked into the "Jacuzzi" suite paid almost 200 for the room, that was the beginning of the nightmare. At first the hot tub kept blowing the circuit breaker and had to call the office multiple times to have it reset. Not very relaxing when you have to have strangers traipsing in and out of the room constantly to look at the tub and say ... I don't know. There was no step up platform to get into the tub, I am 6 ft tall and I had a hard time getting into the tub ant the hot tub floor was greasy. wow The bed was the cheapest mattress you could expect from a 1 star motel, both my wife and I woke up in incredible amount of pain. I went looking for a spare blanket, found one in in the closet in a zippered case, the blanket was sticky and felt like plastic wrap. One of the phones in the room never worked, the TV was a joke over half of the channels did not even work, just constant "no signal" screens.. The breakfast was sub par, I have had better food from places that charge 40 dollars a night. Don't think this is a 3 star hotel as advertised, it is not. With companies running cheaper and leaner this was sub par even for the "budget inn" type places I have had to stay for work. If you are looking for an actual 3 star hotel, go somewhere else. I made our reservation for our room a month in advance asking for fourth floor front facing side. The ladies were very friendly and nice. This was for our 16 year anniversary get away. We show up and we're given a room on the second floor. I asked if there was an issue and the ladies fixed it giving us a fourth floor room. But on the wrong side. I called the front desk to ask again if there was an issue. She just states that there were no other available rooms. Usually no big issue, I am not normally this picky but I really wanted what I wanted for this special occasion. I made my reservations a MONTH in advance and was told no problem. Now there's a problem and it's being handled like, "oh well, sorry about your bad luck." The lady that took my reservation made all kinds of notes to assure that I got what I was wanting and I guess that was all for nothing. Disappointed...... Staff member told us hotel is 10 years old and nothing has been updated so carpet is 10 years old: stained, dirty, furniture is 10 years old; broken, chipped, stained, walls haven't been painted in 10 years; filthy, stained. We didn't even stay, we checked out & went to different hotel. Trip.com will not refund our money and bank dispute was denied because it was booked through 3rd party. Beware! During a recent visit, I chose the new Hampton Inn in Bastrop. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was great and even offered their meeting space for my daughter's upcoming wedding. I was so surprised to hear that they had a large enough space to accommodate our 150 guests for the reception. We can't wait to return for the wedding in the fall and will certainly tell all our friends and family where to stay. read more

I made a reservation days in advance of our stay via Hilton Honors. I got an email asking if I wanted to check in on-line and pick a room or let the hotel pick a room for me. I looked and picked out a room. Then they website asked if I wanted an electronic key. I did, so presumably I was all check in and had my key and could go right to my room. There was a clerk at the desk when we got there so I stopped just to let them know we were there. Good thing I stopped because the clerk informed me the room we had reserved and had a key for had been given away to someone else! And, the room they gave us was not only not on the 1st floor, it was on the 2nd floor at the very far end of the hallway. Why pretend to offer a service that really isn't available? It wasn't our first stay here, either, we come fairly often to visit our daughter. And we do have other choices in Bastrop, I think we will try one of others next time. read more

We recently had several family members visiting from out of town for a memorial service. They all stayed at the Hampton. The place was so nice we ended up having a dinner catered there in one of their meeting rooms last minute. They were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond on several occasions to help us out. The rooms were very nice and clean. The only downer was that a couple times the hot tub wasn't very hot but other than that a perfect stay. read more

The rooms were clean but nothing remarkable. Food is HORRIBLE!! If you have any type of respiratory problems I highly advise not going there. They spray the rooms heavily with air fresheners. My mom had a serious breathing episode because of it. Their solution was to put a very loud water evaporation fan in the room. OH! Don't be surprised when your card gets hit with an additional $50.00 for "incidental fees" even if you did not use any! The receptionist told me that they put a charge on your card when you check in and will be released when you check out. Yet they failed to tell me this when I checked and AND charged my card two days AFTER I checked out and have yet to release those funds. CROOKS! read more
