Stayed here for a two nights for a family service. Good location & quiet. Looked like the pool was in use but I didn't partake. The beds were soft and both in our room smelled of body odor and the carpets has a stickiness in some area. Only one of two elevators worked same with the ice machines. Basic breakfast fully stocked. Tried to call front desk a couple times for a wake up call to ensure I wouldn't miss my flight, no one ever picked up the phone: While my stay was fine, I can't say I'd stay there again. read more

Only getting 1 star because at least the pool was somewhat enjoyable. The room was disgusting, there was a yellow stain on one of the sheets, the tub was gross, and to top it all off there was literally pizza crusts under the bed between the mattress and box spring, so the room wasn't throughly cleaned and that's a big deal, especially in a time with COVID around. The next day talking to the front desk manager she said she talked to the GM and they would refund a certain amount, well instead of refunding me the charged me more. I stayed here on the night of 3/12/13 for work and found it to be the best value in comparison to the surrounding hotels. I usually go for a Holiday Inn Express. However, the HIX nearby was above the max reimbursement rate at my employer, so I had to pass. This was a good substitute. It seemed pretty new and was clean. I stayed in a King Suite with the separate living area and a microwave and refrigerator. I thought that the arrangement was odd. There was a 3/4 wall in the middle of the room separating the bed and the sofa. I guess it was supposed to make it seem like two separate rooms, but it was just weird. The TV was on the opposite wall in the middle of the two, so no matter where you sat, the TV view wasn't ideal. Not a big deal for me, but it might be for others. The bathroom was incredibly small! The door almost hit the toilet bowl when closing and you had to squeeze into a corner on either side of the toilet just to close the door while inside. I'm fairly thin, so it wasn't a problem, but I can't imaging how a larger person would close the door while inside the bathroom...unless they got in the shower first. The linens were definitely a step below HIX, but that was to be expected. The comforter was a bit scratchy and thin. I like to be warm when I sleep, so I turned up the heat a bit. I awoke in the middle of the night to a loud buzzing noise (sort of like something was vibrating). I figured out that it was the heating unit, but was too tired to do anything about it. I also woke up at 5:50am to a banging noise coming from above the bathroom. I also heard water running, so I imagine that it was air in the pipes. Luckily, my alarm was set to go off in 10 minutes, so I just got up. If I had to go back to sleep, it would have been annoying. The fitness room left a lot to be desired. There was a bow-flex-type weight machine, a stationary bike, and a treadmill. I didn't try the weight machine, but the bike was stuck on what seemed like 500 resistance and was nearly impossible to even pedal. I tried adjusting it to no avail. The treadmill worked...but the incline feature didn't. I have no meniscus in either knee and am supposed to limit high impact activities, but without an elliptical or a bike, I had to use the treadmill. The other weird thing was that the wall that faced the hallway (right beside the entrance to the water park) was nothing but windows. There were no blinds, so everyone who walked by the fitness room turned and stared at me as they went by. Creepy because no one looks hot while working out. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was what you would expect from a hotel. They had 2 waffle machines, which was unexpected. If I needed to stay in the area again, I would probably choose this hotel based on the value. However, if paying a little higher price isn't out of the question, I would probably go for the HIX. 3/25/19 In my first impression the smell of clean when you get to the lobby was Very Good. The super friendly staff was my first time and they explained every detail to me. The hallways, elevator, room and bathroom clean. With 100% free of cigarette smell. The pool area that was the # 1 reason at the time of choosing it was Spectacular clean the warm water, my children enjoyed hours on it. Breakfast with great variety, You can even make your own WAFFLES!!! Definitively a place that I would recommend and to which I would return. read more

The room was average, there was a mysterious substance on the wall and the tv remote didn't work (petty to point out but an annoyance). The morning of checkout the pool was to be open from 10AM to Noon. After getting into the pool area, my 3 year old and pregnant wife were swimming while I was putting our stuff in the car. As I walk into the pool area to find them, a staff member quietly told us the pool was shut down and we had to leave. THERE WAS NO EXPLANATION AND NO COMPENSATION. Nice, clean and comfortable place! They had a bunch of groups of kids staying the night we were there and they were pretty loud in the pool area when we arrived. The desk clerk was so sweet. She gave us a suite for the price of a regular room so that we were in the quietest part of the hotel. Although we didn't eat breakfast here it smelled delicious! read more

I stayed here two nights for a couple races I was running. I mentioned to them I chose this place because of the hot tub and they said it was working.  When I went to use it after the first race it was not working. That night the air conditioning wasn't working properly in my room and I couldn't get it below 78°, I was up most of the night sweating.  After getting home I noticed a $60 charge on my credit card and called to find out why they charged me extra. They said a few of the towels had mud on them and were now unusable.  There was also another $2 charge for a safe fee they reversed during the call. It looks like they add charges hoping you don't call.  Don't go here if you plan on using the hot tub, want AC, or use towels. They don't know how to wash them and will charge you extra. read more

Although the staff was friendly, I would definitely not recommend staying at this hotel. It is not at all modern or clean. There was some type of burn/ hole in the curtains. The air freshener they use in the elevator is horrendously over powering. The water"park"/ pool area is not worth staying over night. I have no idea how this place gets so many complaints. The only issue I've seen here is how rude and disrespectful the guests are because the staff has been stellar. This hotel is not new, not updated but it has a mini water park located inside so what in the world are you here for other than that? It is clearly kid focused. I'm not sure why you would be here otherwise. The pool area is cute and fun. Kids love the space but it is dated. Doesn't stop them from playing and having a good time though. The arcade is ok. Half the games don't work so I wouldn't count on that for a fun experience. The breakfast was fine. Tons of food. The price is so incredibly cheap that your expectations had to be aligned with that concept. It works for what it you are paying for and again, indoor water spot for kids!! The staff has been around, incredibly helpful and pleasant. Even as I watch them get berated for absolutely unwarranted complaints. This hotel is disgustingly dirty, there was hair in the shower, blood or something resembling it on the curtains. Everything is really old and outdated in the room. I didn't shower or anything in the hotel. I only washed my face and used a hand towel. I was charged 65.00 for the towel and wash cloth. They claimed it was dirty and couldn't be cleaned. MAKEUP comes out of towels!!!! I travel and stay in hotels monthly and have never had this issue with Makeup on a wash cloth causing 65.00 in damages. After reading other reviews it seems the hotel is making a lot of money off charging people for towels. If you're stuck staying in this gross hotel take pictures of everything for when they charge you for damages. read more

Good hotel. Clean and spacious room with a safe, microwave, and fridge. They also give continental breakfast and wifi for free. It was quiet on the top floor, however there was always lots of kids and noise on the first floor since they have a really good pool. The pool is indoor and has a few slides, waterfalls, and buckets that pour water on you. It also has a small river-like part going off the side. The pool is very popular, especially with kids, and is usually pretty crowded. They also make you have a wristband to go in, since they've apparently had problems with people just sneaking in to use their pool without renting rooms. My only complaint would be that the heater in the room could be a little noisy when it turned on, however it did do a good job keeping the room nice and warm. read more

We've stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years for Kent's Homecoming and it's never been the most clean hotel but it has not been this bad. The front desk ladies are nice and helpful! I will give them that. On our way to the room I noticed the carpeting in the hallways is stained and dirty, not clean at all. Once we were in the room it wasn't much better. We first noticed the door frame of the bathroom had a large rusted out hole at the floor and the comforter had stains. Most of this is tolerable but we were quite frustrated that our room was not turned over the first night we stayed there. We had 4 people (2 couples) in the room and we at least needed new towels. We went down to the front desk to let them know we hadn't gotten any room servicing and needed some towels, which they then handed my fiance a stack of towels without offering to send up any type of service. I have a higher standard for Comfort Inn than this hotel and am disappointed with this one in particular. Do not recommend staying here if you can help it. read more

I AM ONLY GIVING ONE STAR BECAUSE IT MAKES ME CHOOSE AT LEAST ONE TO GIVE MY REVIEW!!! I will never stay here again! I took my family we stayed in the king suite for 2 days costing almost 200 a night! I was told before when I called I wouldn't need to worry about having a roll away available but i was lied to which is why we even went for the king suite! Once we checked out and we got home i noticed a $300 dollar extra charge on my credit card I did not authorize! I called and spoke to the manager and she accused us of smoking in the room because they went though the trash and pulled out a discarded paper plate with thrown out pizza on it that my grandpa had (when he stopped and visited for a bit) had dumped out his tobacco pipe ashes to be able to get ready for himself enjoy once he was done visiting us and went on his way. There were no cigarette butts or any such thing of the sorts! When I told her this then she comes up with there was damaged linen a wash cloth with pizza sauce on It! Are you kidding me????? So my 2 year old uses a washcloth a small cloth instead of a large towel for wipe his hands and face and the manager thinks she can charge 300 dollars?????? By the time this was all said and done I paid about 700 bucks for this terrible experience!This is theft she the manager Christine and Comfort Inn stole my money and refuse to give it back!!!!! I advise anyone to not stay there and do no under any circumstances give a credit card number to them or be prepared to be stolen from!!!!!! read more

Other accommodations in the area are somewhat more expensive and you do get a spacious room with a microwave and a small fridge for the relatively fair price that you pay. However, my main issue with this place is cleanliness. I found 1 contact lens on the bathroom floor and half of a contact lens stuck to part of my bedding. I also found a random food wrapper in my room which was most definitely not mine. Now I'm not a super germaphobe but I expect that my hotel room should be relatively clean, at least to my eye, when I enter it. There's also the "fitness center" which has one treadmill, one elliptical, and a bowflex machine. Not sure you can really qualify that as a fitness center. The lock for the fitness center is broken. There is a small business room just off the lobby with a computer and printer. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to print anything there because alas the printer was out of ink. Breakfast is served for free from 6:00-9:00 am and has the usual spread of bagels, cereal, and waffles. There are some fresh eggs and bacon and a good variety of fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice. The free breakfast is the redeeming factor I suppose. Overall, not a terrible place, but the lack of cleanliness really bothers me. read more

Rooms are okay. Me and my wife reserved a room with a hot tub but soon regretted our decision. The water began to get chocolate colored when we turned it on. The pool reeks of bleach and is humid. The sauna doesn't even work and after 30 mins of nothing I worked up a sweat but only from the frustration. The only good thing is the Mexican restaurant next door. read more

Overall hotel experience was great for my daughters slumber party but I would high recommend me upgrading the rooms. Also I left behind a portable speaker that was around $200 that never came up which is frustrating but the front desk was nice and made the stay okay would definitely recommend going just don't bring anything valuable and also be aware of the wristband policy. read more

Our room smelled like an entire jug of air freshener was dumped all over the room. In the morning, there was nothing but cold showers for the entire hotel. This place was disgusting. It looked good on the outside but was not taken care of on the inside. My room had BED BUGS in it and they moved me to another room that was also dirty and had candy wrappers, socks and a hair extension behind the beds and tables. They moved all my stuff when I wasn't there, without my permission and without even notifying me. I got back to the hotel and walked into an empty room. Then I waited for concierge for 20 minutes. The woman didn't know what happened to my stuff and ended up having to call a housekeeper to find out where it was. Absolutely terrible service. They then refused to refund me because they did an investigation with Portage County Dept of Health that "proved" there were no bed bugs.. but that is because they took all the sheets and mattresses out of the room. Stayed there a few days after spending one night in the Marriott across the street when their pool was broken. We stayed at this comfort inn for half the price. The pool was beautiful and clean. If I could leave ZERO stars I would. First of all booking online signing up for the rewards program you are shown one price that "included tax" for around $88 for one night which is a great deal. Getting to the hotel the staff was extremely nice went over most of the paper work. Get to the room, there is a huge red stain on the carpet, I was trying to decide if it was red koolaid or blood. There is a small sign in the bathroom stating the prices of things if you chose to steal them. Which is understandable in hotels, because most guests take things. Now, we fast forward to the next morning when my paper bill was left under my door. The bill stated $90-ish dollars for the room. Not so great of a deal. There was a charge for the hotel safe?? I DIDN'T ASK FOR ONE NOR DID I USE IT. Take that measly $1 off my charge. But if the hotel needs that $1 so be it. Fast forward 3 days later I have another charge from the hotel for $20. I called and whoever answered was RUDE and was told that the wash rags I used couldn't have the "stains removed" and I initially marked that I understood there would be a charge for that. WHICH I DID NOT KNOW OF THIS. So you charge me $20 for not being able to remove make up from a rag? Because at home I use only white rags for my face and I can always get the make up out and they are brand new. I feel this hotel is completely lazy and just marked them damaged. I will NEVER stay or recommend this hotel to ANYONE ever. Also upon check in I was told I would get so many extra points and a $25 gift card for giving a perfect score. Well I stupidly did that BEFORE all these extra charges were made. And no where in that survey did it tell me about my points or $25. This is just sneaky bad business and I WILL never stay here again. Its a complete rip off. I will pay more to stay in a cleaner nicer hotel such as the Holiday Inn down the street. NEVER again. I have let the hotel know of my concerns and they did give me a very slight reimbursement, so I want to give them some credit for that experience. Now I start the not-so-great part: 1) I blocked out rooms at this hotel for my wedding but despite setting this up, when my guests called they were repeatedly told there was no block of rooms under my name. My maid of honor was treated so poorly over this she called corporate to complain. I had to call the hotel FOUR separate times (4!) to address this issue and I had several guests tell me they were charged full price for the hotel despite being told they were FINALLY in the block. 2) I called to see if there was any way I could check into my room an hour early on the first day, and I was told there was no problem! Turns out, there was a huge problem as I had to actually check in two hours AFTER the established check-in time, which almost made me late to my rehearsal dinner. This was the night the hotel was willing to give me a "discounted rate" on the room- but only that night. :( 3) I stayed two nights, one night before the wedding then the night of the wedding. During this time, my key card stopped working a total of three times! So each time I was running down to the desk getting a new card. My favorite was after my wedding, trucking down in my dress to get a new card AGAIN! Several people on my floor that weren't part of my wedding party also were locked out of their rooms, so at least I was in good company. 4) You want to talk about dingy. My friends and I joked that despite the modern outside look, the inside was more of a "no-tell motel". I didn't even check the mattresses for cleanliness because it was better I didn't know. And my "suite" was just two ajoining rooms- no couch, no separate living area. But maybe that's their idea of a suite. read more

Lovely hotel with a great staff and wonderful features. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make our stay great. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was nice, I loved that you have to wear wristbands to make sure only registered guests are in that area so we were not disturbed by outsiders. AND THEY DO NOT ALLOW ANY POOL PARTIES, so we were not overshadowed by groups, which is great. The hotel "quiet time" is enforced by a large fine and that seems to work because we had a peaceful stay. Breakfast was pretty good, just recommend going earlier than later do to limited seating. Terrible stay. When we first arrived and got settled in our room, the tv wouldn't turn on and we waited almost four hours for the maintenance man to arrive. (With a nine-year-old, a working tv is an absolute must have). The slide in the pool area was also shut down, which is the reason why we chose to come to this establishment in the first place. And when we returned to our room, upon opening the bedspread we found that the comforter was wet (no one had lain on it) and that there was a pair of dirty socks in the bed; meaning that the bed had not been stripped and remade after the last guest. There were stains on the chair and beds as well. The hotel was not prepared at all for the influx of guests due to spring break. The breakfast line in the morning was atrocious; there was also not enough food prepared and nowhere to sit. In all, the hotel's accomodations were subpar to say the least. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. They have some nerve to charge the prices they charge. This place is a joke. Inept staff, horrible rooms, drunks in the lobby, kids running out of control... God I hated this place. Stayed in the suite. Ha! The fact they call it that is another joke. It's a normal hotel room with one window, one small tv in an awful position in between the living space and the bed which makes it so you can't really watch from either location. The two spaces are divided by some kind of half wall which offers no privacy. The living space is a flea market love seat and two tables. The bathroom is nothing special, that goes for the bed as well. So that's the suite. By the way I looked in my friends normal room and it was basically the same but with a better layout. Jeez. Next is the fact I was there for 3 nights and no one ever cleaned my room. Haha! What! And I didn't have the do not disturb sign on. They just never cleaned it! A joke! They do have an awful workout room with an elliptical that's broken, a treadmill, and a bowflex machine. Meh. They also have an overly chlorinated pool. Which is ok for kids but that's all. Finally the staff. Place is understaffed. They seem overwhelmed at the slightest request or question. They are as slow as turtles. Usually they can't be found and you have to yell to beckon someone to the desk. Or they are with someone and take forever to move on. God this place is the worst! Do not stay here. Friendly staff but not clean at all. I asked for our bathroom to be re-cleaned twice and there was still a border of other people hair in the bathroom. Stains on the couch and blanket. Broken safe that they charge you extra automatically for. They started renovations with wet paint right outside our door and a jackhammer in the lobby when I had little ones trying to nap. We switched to a better hotel next door and I asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience. Three messages left for management and still no return phone call. read more

When requesting verbally and with the online reservation for a ground floor room; due to an upsetting elevator incident in the past that my children experienced (I know, it's weird, stay with me), not only do they not provide (I understand, handicapped guests may of filled them....requests aren't guaranteed......Comfort Inn just wants to watch the world burn....blah blah) but instead of a 1st or 2nd floor, they give us the TOP FLOOR, and right across from the elevator. Seriously? Luckily, we are healthy enough to take 4 flights of stairs.....but I find it hard to believe that we weren't placed where we are because of my request. So my suggestion for the hotel is to NOT give an option for requests, unless you are going to specialize in treating trauma with immersion therapy (kids afraid of water can be thrown into the pool, etc) and if you are are thinking of staying here and have even minor special needs, prepare to face your flaws head on and be a better person for it, or fall down 4 flights of stairs. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. There were issues in the pool with chlorine levels. My kids are coughing the entire time they were swimming. The next morning when we got home my son had red rash spots all over his stomach and face from what the doctor said was minor chemical burns. The hotel was under construction and room numbers were falling off of doors, place was extremely dirty and our comforter had a horrible brown stain right in the middle. I've called in numerous times to inquire about the chemical levels and between the hotel and the 1-800 service no one can answer a question. I will never stay at this hotel or anything associated with a Comfort Inn ever again. Choice Hotels should be extremely embarrassed to have their name attached to this establishment. Please save your time and money and stayed anywhere else but this place. I know the pool is extremely appealing for those with children but trust me it is totally not worth the aggravation and hassle. read more
