rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. the lobby and breakfast were clean and the layout was good but the quality of the breakfast food available is what makes this stay "not good value." The employees did the best they could with what theyve got but the eggs, danish, sausage and juice they had available were just not good. please remedy this by improving the quality of a few items slightly... maybe consider doing a deal with a local farmer for all comfort ins or at least slightly upgrade the quality of the juice or add granola to go with the yogurt... thanks for a restful stay though! read more

The first room we were given had a urine smell, so we reported that and were given a new room no problem. While I was waiting for the new room assignment a woman came from the indoor pool and complained about the water temperature feeling like ice water and how she figured that an indoor pool would be climate controlled and heated year around. The breakfast is the usual eggs, sausage, and potato cubes. There was also an option of gravy that looked like it was for biscuits. The breakfast is from 6-9:30. We arrived at 8:40 and the eggs were out and the potatoes. Mean while the breakfast attendant is filling the cereal and then she topped off the forks and spoons. She was advised that the eggs and potatoes were finished and she said they were cooking. She brought out a full plate of eggs to the empty serving container but never anymore potatoes. The coffee also ran out before 9:00 and their was still people coming in for breakfast. Someone had to go tell the front desk to let the attendant know about the coffee because she was no where to be seen. All in all not a good place. The elevator sounds like it's about to break off and free fall at any second with its strange noises. read more

After a long drive, we stopped for the night on our way home to Alabama. Super clean room. slightly disappointed that the in-room coffee maker had no coffee. The cabinet that holds the mini refrigerator is broken and we never messed with getting in the refrigerator. The bedside lamp switches are all jammed up. I had to use my boot heel to pound on the switch to turn it on and off. No way would it work using my hand. The bed was very comfortable, there were 2 king beds in out sweet, but only two towels. I would stay here again, but hope management will read this and fix a few things. read more

Went to check in, paid for the room and somehow my payment wasn't showing up on their end but clearly came out from my card. The front worker did absolutely nothing to help and had an attitude. I drove from out of town with my children and had to drive all the way back home because nothing could be resolved. I left with my money being taken and now I have to file a dispute. Hotel was recently acquired by Hawthorne Extended Stay. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. Only problem was the shower didn't work but the tub was fine. Reasonably priced. I will stay here next time I visit. read more

Getting older ice machine not working elevator sounds like creaking . Was clean and good staff! Shower head not moveable at all.

My wife and I checked in on 8/26/24 with our small dog. The pet fee was $75, ostensibly, for extra cleaning after a pet has been there. After a long day on the road, we just wanted to eat, clean up and go to bed. I turned the AC on and we left for dinner. When we came back from dinner, the room was not noticeably cooler and smelled musty. I pulled the AC filters and they were caked with pet hair. Whatever extra cleaning they were doing for $75 didn't include the AC filter. Not wanting to wait forever for maintenance or housekeeping to come up, I cleaned them myself and washed them with soap. That took care of the odor and the cooling issue. Then it was time for a shower, but that's when we realized there was no shower curtain. We attempted to call the front desk, but the phone didn't work, so my wife had to go find the desk clerk to bring us shower curtains. I told him about the filters and he said he would tell the manager. In the morning, while checking out, I told the desk person about the issues and she said she would tell the manager and that they could discount the stay. Several days passed and no contact, so I called. The person I spoke to knew nothing but gave me the voicemail for the manager. I left a voicemail. Several more days and no contact. After a week, I sent an email and finally received a response. The Manager said she would speak to her staff and get back to me. That was 14 days ago. She has stopped responding to emails and I have no resolution. There are lots of other choices for hotels in Amarillo. Update. After posting my original review, the hotel manager finally emailed me. She stated that they were unable to process any refund because I booked through Booking.com. This a blatant lie. Hotel is in need of TLC. Our bathroom was mildewy. Bed sheets were clean. No bedbugs. Door didn't lock between rooms. Safety concern. Room smelled bad. AC made noises. Breakfast included but you might want to skip it. The cooked food was bland. Had to wait for a check-in clerk for a bit to check us in. The checkout clear was there at the desk but playing on her phone and couldn't be bothered to check us out. She was unpleasant and rude. Parking area is less than adequate and junky. I love to leave 5 star reviews and have never reviewed anything under a 2 star. That being said, if I could leave negative stars for this hotel, I would. We are having tile laid in our home. We needed a hotel for 1 night. We went online through a 3rd party and booked this hotel. We arrive in the 100+ heat, and the desk clerk, Cheyenne, informed my husband that locals are not allowed to stay at their hotel. I really do not see how that can be legal in the USA and may contact the state. However, as the hotel reservation was listed as non-refundable, I went in and explained to the clerk that we had already paid. (THERE IS NOTHING ON THEIR WEBSITE SAYING THEY WILL NOT SERVE LOCALS!) I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life by a hotel desk clerk. There was no manager available. When we asked to speak to one, she informed us that this was why they did not serve locals. Apparently, in her mind, she thinks asking to speak to a supervisor is rude. We will not return to a Comfort Suites again! We probably will not ever book a hotel from the Choice Hotel Group! There should have been some type of manager on site. So many issues with this stay and terrible customer service. First, when we checked in the heater was on 86 and we had to open the window to cool down. The maid then turned it up to that again the second day. Why? Then, there was some kind of trash/cardboard in the drain of the jacuzzi and it was dirty, so obviously not cleaned. I cleaned it myself. The lamp was broken and sparking so we let the front desk know and they said they would take care of it and never did. The floor was damp the whole time we were there, even before we used the jacuzzi or anything so there's obviously some kind of leak. To top it all off, the people next door to us on the third night were screaming and beating on the wall and doors. I couldn't take it anymore so we went and told the front desk and instead of offering us another room, they just informed us we would still be charged for the night despite all the issues. Called the next morning and spoke with Tiandra in management and she only offered 20% off the stay and informed me since we paid on Expedia (we didn't) she didn't even know how we would get the discount. So my boyfriend called the corporate number and they tried to sell him more stays in some other locations at a discount rate. All we wanted was the night we didn't stay covered for all the inconveniences. This location sucks, the employees offer terrible customer service, and then the corporate number won't even help you. Pick this hotel off of the internet we have stayed in Comfort Suits before and were happy with this brand. This hotel is a new build very nice good location in Amarillo, TX. The price was very fair. I would stay here again the rooms are nice very quiet good air conditioner. Good television with plenty of stations to choose from. King size bed was comfortable nice seating area. The free breakfast was just a bag with cereal and a breakfast bar and milk. This was because of Covid 19. The eating area was closed for breakfast but coffee was still available. I booked this hotel thinking it was a different one and was kind of skeptical when I drove up and noticed my mistake. From the outside, it doesn't look that great. HOWEVER, we ended up really enjoying our stay! This hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. The breakfast is hot, eggs/biscuits/Texas-shapes waffles/etc. I love the location, it's not as loud as others we've stayed at that were RIGHT off the interstate. This is a very easy hotel to get to, it's technically on a side road off the interstate, easy to get right back on and continue traveling in the morning after getting a good nights rest. It IS a bit dated, could stand a little upgrade, but no complaints here! read more

I live in Amarillo and booked a room at this hotel for my daughter and I for a girls weekend. I booked online, input my address and everything. Once we arrived and went to check in, they refused to give us a room because we live in the same city. They had no idea why we were in need a hotel room - just turned us away even though I had already paid and booked online (giving them my address, so they already had that information). I booked with a discount code months earlier. All the other hotels were too expensive to just walk in and get a room, so we had to cancel our plans for the weekend. Terrible customer service. Very rude, didn't want to help us and turned paying customers away because we lived too close. read more

Absolutely awful experience here. Arrived to a nearly 100 degree room with a broken heater. When we went down to tell the front desk about the issue, the rude front desk woman did not believe us and made us sit with our luggage in the lobby for 30 minutes for maintenance to inspect the heater. Only after this and conformation from maintenance were we able to get a new room, and with no apology or compensation for having to spend a majority of our night in the lobby. Tried to contact customer service about the terrible job the woman at the front desk did, but comfort inn seems to have no customer service line. Avoid this location if at all possible. read more

Great clean hotel, great breakfast options, employees were nice. We would stay here again...great location off 40 & 335 near many restaurants and several other hotels .... However, we arrived late and got the handicapped room which we loved - the only negative about the room was that the handicap sink was clogged but I reported it as we left so hopefully maintenance took care of it. Another not positive comment I would say is that were 4 vehicles parked on the other side of the porte-chochere, right outside the front door, where typically there would be none. The clerk said they are the employees and maintenance vehicles. They took away from the look of the hotel and took away a pass through area for customers. Also, we weren't sure about the back parking lot, where 3/4 of the parking is - we didn't see a lot of lights and were kinda leery about the security back there. Thankfully, we found a spot close to the front door. Made us wonder if maybe this is why employees are parking outside the front door. read more

On September 14-17 we went for a weekend to spend with family, attend a conference, baby dedication and a baptism. We booked two different rooms. The first room was charged an extra $90.98 on 9/20/23 and the other room was charged an extra $350.00 for someone stating someone was smoking in the room which later was later proven it was not our room. Make sure to check your charges before leaving and a week afterwards. We will not be staying at this hotel again. read more

Nice clean hotel but don't expect the AC and heat to work properly. I stayed there 3 times recently, once in extreme hot weather (100+) and twice in extreme cold (5 degrees f) and neither time did ac or heat work properly. In summer had 2 grands with us and had tech working at 1030 pm. Winter the heat was either full blast hot or you turned it off. I doubt I will stay there again. read more

What a great place to stay! On our way to New Mexico, we had a flawless stay here. The lady at the front desk was super nice and cheerful. Our room was impeccable; the beds were super comfortable and we got an excellent nights sleep. I'm one of those who can toss and turn on a foreign bed, but not this one. Free wifi was nice to have and there was a Verizon tower right outside our room. Woohoo! The bathroom was clean and I didn't find a single sign of the last guest. That in itself would have dropped the rating to zero. One thing I loved was having two sinks. One in the bathroom and one by the closet. Nothing slows down a family trying to get on the road than having to wait for the bathroom. This was such a plus for me!! The breakfast was pretty good. I really loved the waffles in the shape of Texas. They also had batter in cinnamon and plain. On our way back home the cinnamon was replaced with blueberry. While on the topic of breakfast, the selection was really nice. Juices, coffee with flavored creamers, wasn't crazy about the round eggs so I skipped them, sausage links (would have preferred bacon), cereals and milk, oatmeal, yogurt and pre-peeled hard boiled eggs. The coffee wasn't amazing, but it hit the spot. If you're looking for a nice place to stay, I highly recommend this Comfort Inn. The only thing that has me teetering on taking away a star was our return visit...heading back home. The woman at the front desk wasn't as kind and easy to deal with as the first. She was chatting with a friend when we got there which is very unprofessional. I am overlooking this since I didn't really have to deal with her like my husband did. Free WIfi. Smaller Hotel only 3 floors. The room/carpet had a weird funk but everything else was clean. Bathroom had a double sink one near the entrance and one in the bathroom. It was a small bathroom when you open the door you have to squeeze through between the toilet seat and door. The breakfast was OK...didn't really have any appetizing items but it was free. There is a small indoor pool and hot tub as well. The location was near a lot of restaurants and not too far from Cadillac ranch. read more

I loved the place when I first got into my room and was ready to relax for the night. I noticed the light from the parking lot was a bit bright so I went to close the curtains when I found out they DONT EVEN MOVE! I'm not joking.. look at the pictures lol. My room was so bright from the light in the parking lot it was difficult to sleep but I also found it quite amusing. At least I could see my car! I didn't care to complain to the staff because what are they going to do? Give me a blanket? I tried to hang one up but there is nothing to attach it too. Do not stay here if you have any concern for Covid spread. Choice hotels prides itself in its measures to protect their guest from Covid as best they can with multiple sanitizing stations and sealed items within the room, ensuring their cleanliness. Instead, when I entered the lobby, there were no sanitizing stations, and was instead offered a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Along with this, what I assume was a maintenance man, was in the lobby without a mask on, even though the sign clearly states no one is allowed to enter without a mask. Then, upon finding my room, rather than sealed, the door was opened. After another front desk employee offered me another room, I was greeted with a fridge that was turned off. After airing out the putrid smell, turning it on and putting our food in there, I realized the entire fridge was full of water and slime. So, I had to clean that out, spilling this nasty water all over me. Then, when going to heat up our food, I discovered a dirty microwave. The only good thing about this hotel are the two front desk employees who were very helpful. Normally, this kind of thing wouldn't bother me. However, with Covid cases rising, and with Choice hotels claiming they are upping their standard for extra clean and safe space for their costumers, I feel I cannot be silent. We are trying to get back home, to my sick father. We chose this hotel because of its higher standards during this time. I would not have paid the extra money, had I known that claim was just a bullshit attempt to bring in the extra money. Or, at least at this location. Needless to say, we will be staying at Hilton for the rest of our trip. Maybe they will actually do what they say. read more

Upon arriving, after diving 6 hours, the front desk employee was not friendly. The room was clean, but water pressure was low and the toilet was very short (I'm 5'5" and it was difficult for me squat down to sit on the seat). The best part about the breakfast was the make it yourself waffle. The rest of the breakfast offerings were sad. The sausage tasted like it had been prepared in a microwave and the eggs tasted weird. The potatoes were good, but they offered gravy without biscuits. I guess maybe they meant for the gravy to go on the potatoes? If the price of the room had been around $80-90 for the night, I would have expected the quality I received, but not at $150 for the night. read more

We were overcharged $17.35 for our room. I called several times only to never receive a call back from a manager. I finally was contacted by email with a "No reply" address and was pretty much told I was stupid. I travel for business and know how to read a bill and compare it my bank charges.
