Once treatment was not an option he was referred to home hospice and they quickly enrolled him and began providing comfort care. They made sure he had all the equipment he needed to be comfortable. This included medication, O2, bed etc... Unfortunately my dad passed away within 2 weeks of home hospice but I believe he died comfortably and with no pain. They were always responsive when I called and when my dad passed, they helped me give him his last bath. In these tough times we think that we are the only ones that need attention, I get it, I've been there but they did a marvelous job and I'm pleased with the support we received. Thank you all!!!

The intake nurse called me on Friday and left a voice message that she would like to see my mom the following morning. She also texted me at the same time. I immediately called my mom to confirm and called her back in less them 10 minutes. No answer so I left a voice mail and a text to confirm Saturday. No response even though i returned the message immediately. The following evening she text again asking to come on Monday. I left a voice message and asked her to call me to schedule to avoid another miscommunication. No reply ever. My mom never got the home health she was ordered. No follow up whatsoever by the nurse or the company. It's a good thing I am a proactive daughter and followed up right away with her primary care physician. A more vulnerable patient without an advocate would be left high and dry.

I suggested my dad hire a private case manager as her dementia was getting worse and my dad was having a hard time coping and managing her medical and emotional needs. Meredith coordinated doctors appointments, coached my dad through dealing with dementia, helped arrange for and provide caregivers, and offered moral and emotional support and guidance for my grandmother and the whole family. My grandmother passed away peacefully at home, and I don't think it would have gone as well as it did without the help and support of Meredith and her team. Meredith was very patient with my grandmother who was wary of new people and afraid of relinquishing control as her dementia progressed. She also handled the tense family dynamics of end of life care very well and was almost like a family member during that time, we knew we could count on her. Thank you Meredith!

Her weekly visit helps me to stay positive and less depressed; feeling confident in self care. My vitals were taken, I was shown the exercises, but what set her apart is that I was treated in such a compassionate way. I was not just a body healing from surgery. I was treated as an integrated person, recovering from surgery while all the daily stressors of life continued. My surgery was to relieve spinal compression, and it felt confusing to have some of the same symptoms as my nerves were waking up. I looked forward to Carrah showing up and reporting my concerns as well as my progress. The exercises helped to strengthen my body but I shared stressors that impacted my recovery and she patiently listened which made it possible to feel a sense of release. As I mentioned to Carrah, endoscopic surgery can be a bit misleading because you have less pain but your body has still been through surgery. I recommend Carrah highly. She is not only compassionate but skilled and experienced. I will think of her when I walk down to the far end of my street.
