Don't trust COMET with expensive clothes! Unfortunately, my experience resulted in damage to an expensive shirt and a very disappointing lack of follow-through. I brought in a $300 Figaret shirt purchased in Paris along with several other shirts for cleaning. All of the other shirts came back normally, but this particular shirt was returned with severe, deep-set puckering and rippling throughout the fabric, especially along the seams, hem, placket, and other constructed areas. These are not normal wrinkles that simply need ironing. The fabric is visibly distorted, as shown in my photos, and the shirt no longer lays smooth as it did before it was cleaned. I have now returned this shirt to the cleaners three separate times and given them multiple opportunities to correct the problem. On my most recent visit, I specifically spoke with a manager/owner, who assured me that he would personally take care of the shirt to make sure the problem was corrected and that my cleaning charge would be refunded. Unfortunately, neither of those things happened. I did not receive the promised refund, and when I picked up the shirt, it was just as badly puckered and distorted as it was the first day I brought it home. After all of the repeated attempts to correct it, the fabric now also feels different to the touch--stiffer and almost heat-damaged compared with how it originally felt. What makes this particularly concerning is that none of the other shirts from the same order developed this problem. This shirt was in excellent condition when I brought it in, and I now have a $300 designer shirt that appears to have been permanently damaged during the cleaning and/or pressing process. I understand that mistakes can happen. What is most disappointing is how the situation was handled afterward. I gave this business three opportunities to make it right, and on the final visit I relied on a owner/manager's personal assurance that he would oversee the correction and issue a refund. The shirt was not corrected, and the refund was not issued. At this point, I do not want the shirt subjected to any further processing, therefore I simply refuse to go back to this cleaners. I believe the appropriate resolution is for the business to take responsibility for the damage and reimburse me for the value of the shirt... but I have a feeling that won't happen just from what I have experienced thus far. read more

They lost my husband's most expensive suit pants and have made no effort to rectify the situation. Owner has yet to call us and store employee tried to say they didn't lose them because we don't have the claim check. They do have record that we dropped off pants fitting the description of the ones that are lost. Now my husband has a suit coat and no pants and replacement pants will cost $230. Poor way to operate a business since we have been customers for several years. read more

This is absolutely the MOST EXPENSIVE dry cleaners I have ever used. Nearly $19 for a simple sleeveless blouse and sleeveless dress. No pleats, creases, or folds. This is not the first time I have had these items cleaned and other cleaners would charge less than $10 total. I thought I'd use Comet since it is close to home, but never again. The clerk was less than helpful. read more

This is probably the worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. The majority of my dress shirts were charged as dry-cleaning and not laundered. I even had one shirt that was the same shirt into different colors. One shirt was charged dry-cleaning the other was charged laundered. I asked about this and she said they would make a credit for my next time. I will never be going back to this dry cleaners. If you wish to be ripped off, go here. read more

I dropped my shirt off Friday morning with some pretty significant stains and I needed it the next day by noon. I came at 9am on Saturday and they said it wouldn't be ready till after 2 because it was at their factory!...I'm graduating at 2 and need that shirt! I pleaded and the wonderful girl at the counter, Caroline, made some calls and got me that shirt in 30 minutes. You made my day comet cleaners! read more

I'm new to the area, first time here and Comet cleaners is a mile away. I dropped off my new Nieman Marcus cashmere sweater that I had for a week. I got to wear it once. Dropped off on Friday, picked up on Saturday. It was folded over the hanger and I didn't check it. I put it on, on Sunday. It had two small holes in the front. At least I got to wear it once. Never going back there. I should have checked yelp first. read more

Worst customer service ever experienced at a dry cleaner. The cleaners employee Gabby wrote down the wrong name and phone number so when I went to pick up my clothes, I was told I wasn't in the system. The manager was phoned by one of the employees about the matter due to I was upset and demanded my clothes. Yes some foul language used after I was asked if I was sure I was at the right cleaners, and I am sure my name is miss spelled often regardless of that the phone number they had for me started with 469 and my actual number begins with 214, I was told not to come back and threaten to have the police called on me because I wanted my clothing. Don't ever go there. Rude, and crappy service. read more

I have been taking our dry cleaning here for years. They are more expensive but they usually do a good job. The help, however, has gotten younger and younger, and isn't on top of things as some of the more mature employees I have dealt with. As a Police Officer, my husband wears a suit and tie everyday, but works his second job in uniform. We average about 15-25 pieces a month, a little more in the horrid hot weather months. Last week I drove in to pick up 14 pieces, inclusive of 2 uniforms. The young girl appeared to have an attitude from the beginning, opening the door and not greeting me, but taking my receipt. When she appeared with the dry cleaning, she simply said "49.56". I asked her, if there were 14 pieces and she said "that's what you were charged for". That wasn't what I asked. I asked her if there were 14 pieces hanging there in front of her. She rolled her eyes (for the first time), then counted each item. I then questioned the amount, and I got the rolling of the eyes (again) but this time with the added teenage "smirk"! I asked her when did you start charging so much for the Police Uniforms, and she ignored me. Then I proceeded to give her my credit card and she said "you are going to have to come in and put your pin number in the machine". I said, please run it as a credit. She said she couldn't. I explained that I have been coming here for years, and I have NEVER had to get out of my car to my pin in the reader. She responded we have a new machine and you will have to. I got out of my car and replied "then, why do you have a drive through"? Again, she ignored me and I stood there looking at her until she looked at me. I asked for the manager or owner's name, and a man come from the back, immediately. He identified himself as the owner. I explained everything and he appeared to have been listening the entire time. He proceeded to explain they had started with a new reader this week and blah, blah, blah. . . I said, "I am more concerned with the way this young girl has treated me as a customer, with the rolling of her eyes and her smart aleck smirk. Is that something you condone"? At that very moment, she did it again and I pointed it out to him. He didn't say anything. I again, said "Is that something you allow your employees to do to a paying customer"? He talked to her in Spanish and sent her to the back. IT WAS HIS DAUGHTER! I guess since I look white, he didn't think I knew Spanish. Ha! I felt I was insulted and belittled and they have lost my business. I hope her actions were worth it. Unfortunately, most business owners do not realize that there are other places we can give our money to. read more
