Easy to find parking. That's a plus, even though I do feel $20 per car is a little bit pricey. I went to take my son to watch Jiu Jitsu World League and we have to pay entrance fees too. But there are a lot of attendants available, especially the lobby area. Restroom was not really clean but it could be because of the crowd at that time of the day, not necessarily a reflection of the venue. But there are restrooms spread out all over the facility. So that's a smart move. The hockey and ice-skating area are still there. Good crowd is always present there. read more

I went here for a g-league, b-league, or you can call them legends. It felt like a school gymnasium where kids have games. It was quite fun watching. Certainly different from watching nba games. The center also has an ice skating rink and the place where the basketball game was being held at is where their ice skating tournaments are held. Came here to see Crystal a Cirque performance. The show was fantastic!! There didn't seem to be a bad seat in the place. The hallways / walkways were very dark even before the show started. The ushers/ employees didn't assist with showing people where the seat or sections were located. There were plenty of them they were just standing around not helping people. read more

I'll start with parking at its important for a venue as such. The parking was very feasible as there were a few paid and non-paid options all within walking distance. I was at the venue for a 3rd party event and everything seemed to be ran well. For it to be a entertainment venue a major plus is that it was well ventilated. My only complaint would be the wait and layout of the pop bars in the pit. The alcohol choices were limited and the wait was easily 40+ mins. Other than that I enjoyed the event being held here. read more

We had ringside seats for the Peak fights last night. everyone was complaining about not being able to understand the PA system & live interviews. The fights were great & entertaining. Comerica sound system is a joke or as I call a Mickey Mouse operation. Not only should fans get a discount/refund, but Peak should demand a refund also, as the sound system hurts their brand. I give the fights a 4 star and the arena operations a negative star. What an embarrassment for this arena. read more

Getting into the venue took forever. Venue needs a line for people with oversized bags. There's no reason why the rest of us need to wait for people to get their huge bag searched. We came to see the Cirque Du Soleil show Ovo. We came on a Sunday and so getting in and out and parking were a breeze. Parking was included with our ticket, which is appreciated. There was a lovely woman directing foot traffic, as there are a few entrances and there was no signage indicating where you were to enter. Once we were in, there were metal detectors and they scan your ticket. Comerica has one of those annoying clear bag policies, or you can bring a clutch no bigger than 4x6 inches. Considering the lack of pockets in womens fashion, I find this rule most irritating. I tend to take that into consideration when attending an event. There isn't a lot of room to move around before finding your seat. It isn't a high capacity venue but moving around the bar, merch, and candied nuts, it is a bit tight. However the bathrooms were clean, the employees I encountered were friendly, and while the show encourages photography, they do not allow the use of flash or to record. There actually were people there looking out for that but they didn't seem to be rude or overly bothersome. Cirque shows are always fantastic. Once seated, we fully enjoyed the experience. read more

The location is usually very clean and well maintained. The people working are polite and friendly. Attended the Legends last game with tickets my kids received from school. Thank you Legends for the ticket donation and opportunity for a family activity. I give the event 3 stars out of five. After waiting in the long face paint line that only had 2 people working, the line for the play area, then concessions, it was the 3rd quarter of the game. Needless to say I was tired and beyond ready to sit down and actually watch the game. Waited in 2 concession lines with my card getting charged in both to only have them be out of cotton candy and popcorn. read more

I watch hockey games for my boyfriends rev league here all the time, and it's worth the 30-40 minute drive from Dallas to sit in a stadium setting and root for his team. There are also sometimes couches and little areas to bring food in on those nights (or even a beverage if you're feeling frisky). read more

Great arena, perfect size, seats are well maintained. We went for the circus and had a great time. But the food was awful! The pretzel crumbled to nothing, it was stale and horrible. The milkshake from the diner was $8 and was hardly mixed. The guy handed it to us saying "sorry we don't have lids", that's not going to work for me when I have 2 little ones. Thankfully another guy working gave us a soda cup and lid to pour it in. The size was pretty good for the price but we probably only drank a quarter of it because it was mixed. Scoops of ice cream and chunks of peanut butter when we ordered the chocolate covered banana shake which doesn't even sound like it has peanut butter in it. What a fun place! Went up to Frisco to enjoy a Frisco Fighters Indoor Football game. Always wanted to check the place out considering it's where the Dallas Stars practice (big hockey fan here). Bought some cheap tickets that actually ended up being great seats! I have never experienced anything like indoor football - it was a riot! It is so high energy, we had the time of our lives. Food and concession options were ok - nothing fabulous. Lots of little drink and snack stands around. Facility is clean and well maintained. May revisit soon for a Texas Legends game. Nothing on the scale of a real NFL or NBA game but still just as fun if not better! Would also love to come here for the hockey aspect of it too, but definitely recommend checking it out. read more

Good seating everywhere. Feel like we have to pay everywhere. We were here for a cheer competition. We had to pay to park in the garage. Then we walked in and were told we needed to get wristbands. We can't be the only people needing to walk to the ticket booth from the parking garage. However the booth is not marked that I could see from the inside. We were screened from security, then we proceeded upstairs. It was free seating and every seat was good for seeing the stage. It was very diffcult to get around though. Congestion was everywhere. Went to Carden family circus over the weekend. This 4-star review is for the event venue, not for the circus (although I will provide some feedback on the circus). The Dr Pepper arena was nice. There is garage parking (it was $10 cash for event parking, but not sure if any cost during non event). There are random places to park for free around the event, a few blocks away. Inside, you will walk by the ice skating rink and you may be lucky enough to see the Dallas Stars practicing. Once in the arena, the size is nice, not too big nor too small. All the seats are pretty good. The restrooms were clean. If you do park in the garage, it will take a little time to exit post event. They do sell alcohol, drinks, snacks. The costs are typical of any event, overpriced but expected. I really have no complaints about the Dr. Pepper arena. As far as the circus, just a few key points. It's pretty long, over 3 hours. I think it's best for 5-10 year olds. The opening act really makes you wonder what you've gotten yourself into. But after that, it gets better. I could have done without the elephants and tigers, it felt strange/awkward, although I have no clue the animals' quality of life and I don't plan to get on any soapbox or into any debate about that here. In my opinion the people acts were the best; they had archery, arial acrobats, tightrope walkers, dancing, quick change performer, martial arts, comedy, balancing acts, juggling, Spider-Man, transformers, guy shot from cannon, etc...and the best part, there were no clowns! Thank goodness. Many performers pulled double and triple duty. Show went for 2 hours, then 30 min intermission, then another 30-45 mins of show. You can do games/bounce houses/face painting/pony, camel, elephant rides before the show or during intermission (all at a premium cost). It's better to arrive 45 mins before circus and do these things before, not during intermission. Cotton candy, popcorn and such are sold by walking vendors throughout show for around $5 each. Bring cash for that stuff. Last tip, we bought GA tix on Groupon for $12 each. The GA seats were in designated sections like 108, 104, 122. They were right beside the reserved tix that cost more, and there were plenty of available seats. Posted some pics taken by friend in our group. read more

I went to watch a Frisco Fighters football game tonight 7/22/23. Signage to find what door to go in was lacking. When at the metal detectors they wouldn't let me through because my purse was slightly bigger than their allowed 4x6 inches. Really? What woman over 60 has a tiny bag to hold their wallet and sunglasses. I offered to empty my purse so they could see what was in it. They said you could have a bigger purse if was see through. Who over the age of 13 would want a see through purse. This is discriminatory towards older women. How was I to know not to bring a purse. I wouldn't want to hike back to the car and leave it and then hike back to the center. Would they have reimbursed me if my car got broken into? I doubt it. I missed the game. Comerica Center doesn't abide by its own publicly posted policies. I checked the night before and after waiting in line was denied entry for a small folding pocket knife and of all things, a mini flashlight. I got the wonderful opportunity to wait in line twice with my three year old to see the circus (inside, not the security pre-show). Here is their full unhonored policy: "For safety reasons, patrons may be refused entry if they are in possession of prohibited items including, but not limited to: alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, food, drinks, glass/plastic/metal containers, video recorders, audio recorders, fireworks, laser pointers, backpacks, coolers, knives over 5 inches in length, weapons of any type, baby seats or carriers, unauthorized noise makers, glitter, confetti, Frisbees, streamers, helium balloons, beach balls, parcels or packages, inflatables, or large bags of any kind. I went to a Legends game with my family and it is great for kids, but without kids it may be annoying. So much going on for the kids, it feels like everything else is missing (ushers, staff, etc). Maybe all the staff is down at the court tending to the kids-? I had no issues with parking, food court, and my seats. read more

Disclaimer: I've never skated here. I've never skated ANYWHERE. The main arena has it's own entry in Yelp! under Dr. Pepper Arena, so my review is of the facility outside the arena. I've watched numerous beer league games on the side rinks; the seating is OK, but I wish it went up higher. The aluminum bleachers get cold as hell, so bring a blanket to sit on PLUS one to cover up with if you're cold natured. Concessions are only open during major events, but there are soft drink machines available, even one that accepts Mastercard/VISA contactless cards. Parking is plentiful in the garage, and there's a little out front if you're there during off hours to duck into the StarStuff store or something. read more

Sugar Bear and I went to Dr. Pepper Arena for Alegria. It was an upgrade over the tents used in previous Cirque du Soleil performances. This hockey stadium is not very big, so it is perfect for events like Cirque du Soleil or small concerts. Not being familiar with the venue when I ordered tickets, I went for what appeared to be the best...floor seats. When we arrived, we were dismayed by our $100+ seats. We could see nothing. When the show started, we darted up to the stadium seats halfway up and on the side. The view was MUCH better from here. Had I ordered tickets in this area, they would have been a hell of alot cheaper as well. At intermission, half of the floor seats had been evacuated for the 'cheaper' seating. I would have been furious if the show had been sold out and left me with no where to move. Live and learn. The plus side of DPA would be the parking...there is lots of it. I didn't relish paying $15 to park my car, but I did appreciate the different lots provided so that traffic moves a bit better. There was still a clog getting out, but not as bad as I would have expected. There is free parking in the area as well, but we did not opt to risk it because we weren't 100% sure where we were going since it was our first trek out there. The food options were pretty good as well. I like how the food and drink areas are spread about so that none of them have lines. There was a grill area for hotdogs and hamburgers that had a condiment bar with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, etc. for patrons to 'decorate' their own burgers. Everything was very fresh looking. There were separate drink areas, candy kiosks, dipping dots stand, candied nuts were freshly made on the premises (intoxicating smell as you walk by...very tempting!), and even homemade popcorn with gourmet flavors (like jalapeno ranch). The items are expensive, but one has to expect that when going to any arena. The BEST part of DPA was the availability of recycle bins! I'm a girl who takes home recyclables whenever I'm out. I've been known to pull recycling out of the trash or pick up items that can be recycled as I'm leaving a concert or movie. I left without looking like the garbage lady, and that was REALLY nice! I was disappointed to see that people still filled the regular trash can with recyclable items just because they were too lazy to walk ten feet over to the recycling bin. UGH! They are bright red and have a recycling symbol on them...they are difficult to miss! The seats in this arena have very little leg room. I'm 5'8 and my knees were almost knocking the head of the lady in front of me. If I was any taller, leg room would have been a big issue. Men are a big part of sporting event audiences, so I wonder why they didn't take more leg room into consideration when building this arena. I'm sure it is $$, but comfort of your patrons is also important! read more

This review is for the ice skating rink. I went here on a Friday night for skating once, and it was just wonderful. They RARELY have public skate hours so I'd never been before. This was a total fluke that they had hours in the evening, so I jumped at the chance to go. The ice was just wonderful. There were only a couple other skaters and I periodically had the whole rink to myself. There were no skate guards, no annoying teenagers, no little figure skaters getting in everyone's way, and no cones sectioning off anything. It was great. The only downside was the music selection. With a total of 2 people on the rink...they had some christian CD music playing. I went up to the window and asked them nicely if they would change it to something else, and they said they had nothing else that was appropriate for children. What? What about the radio? How about someone buy another CD? Don't force people to listen to religious music...that's just ridiculous. Thankfully after an hour the CD ended and the music was shut off. I suppose the fact that there are no skating guards and absolutely nobody paying attention to the rink during open skate is a bad thing, safety wise. Perhaps they felt that since there were very few people there, they didn't need to monitor the rink..or maybe they have a video feed behind the front desk. I just wish they had more public skate hours. They probably have less hours than any other Dr Pepper Star Center in the area. read more

I ventured to Southern Oklahoma for a Frisco Roughriders game on behalf of a friend who had free tickets for food/drink. So many things wrong with that sentence, but we'll let it slide. The actual ballpark was very charming and reminiscent of a dollhouse/Cape Cod summer home with a baseball field. Perhaps part of my enjoyment was the free food/drink part, but for the most part - it was a cute ballpark that captured the "neighborhood" feel of suburbia. I've never seen a stadium quite like this and it was . . . cute! To that end, there were TONS and TONS of kids there, the most kids I've seen in one place at one time in a LOOONG which tells me that I've (and unapologetically) fully migrated into urban life. Holy cow. Not that it was a good or bad thing, but if you are more used to seeing bottle blonds vs. bottles . . . for a baby . . . like I am - be prepared for many shrieks, small fries, and ankle bites. Yikes. It begs the question, are these the same kids that will grow up and blame mom and dad for taking them to Frisco Roughriders games when they could be at a Texas Rangers game? Will they feel gypped and cheated? I digress . . . . read more

Facility and ice wise this location is probably as good as any of the other Dr. Pepper Star Center locations. It is also the home of the Texas Tornado Jr hockey team. The 2 star rating is a product of the management of the adult hockey program at this location. As a rink affiliated with a professional sports organization you would like to think there would be professional management of the league. However, this is not the case. I returned to playing rec hockey after taking a few years off and playing a season at this facility left a bad taste in my mouth. I decided to ease my way into playing again by playing D league, the bottom league outside of I league which is for beginning skaters. 1. The calls and reffing from game to game are spotty. What is a penalty one game goes uncalled in another and is a major and one game suspension in yet another game! 2. There is no parity. If a team moves down and blows out all the other teams, they don't move the teams. If a player scores at will in a league, they don't move the player up. At the end of the season the top teams were undefeated except when playing eachother and the top scorers had 4-5 points per game. 3. Because of the lack of parity you basically pay over $500 a season to get kicked around on a weekly basis 4. If the schedule says games will be Monday and Friday you'll end up with Tuesday and Thursday games too. This caused at least one person on my team to drop out because they could only do Mon/Fri. read more

The area we were in was in front of the Baylor Scott and White rehabilitation facility and the right amount of space for what it was intended for. I plan to come to a stars game in the near future to explore more of Dr. Pepper Arena. read more

This review is of the Star Stuff Pro Shop, housed inside the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Frisco. The rink itself is a great place to skate, and hopefully I'll have an opportunity to review that separately. The staff is very friendly at the Pro Shop, and they seem to have quite a selection of goods available for the Dallas Stars fan, Hockey player, and even a small selection of Figure Skating accessories. I had been told not to let *just anyone* sharpen my figure skates, but specifically have the Manager of the store - Carissa Wyckoff - handle the sharpening. Prior to my first sharpening I had read quite a bit of what to expect, and tried to gain an understanding of the ROH (Radius of Hollow) but I wasn't sure exactly what ROH to get. When Carissa asked me what ROH I would like, I explained I wasn't sure. She gave me the run down on what is most common for Figure Skaters and even better yet, explained WHY. I chose 1/2" for my ROH and she proceeded to sharpen them in front me. She took great care with the sharpening, and measured everything afterward to make sure it was even. I have since had my skates sharpened a few times by her and she does a perfect job each and every time. The only downside by specifying one individual in the shop, is sometimes the skates must be left there (for an hour, or several depending on how busy they are) until she is able to sharpen them. If the skates are not sharpened while you wait, they are tagged to the laces and you are given the carbon copy. I have not had my claim ticket checked upon pick up, but I haven't been too concerned about my skates going home with someone else. Cost of sharpening: $7 Waiting time: Varies End result: Would use again! Reason for 4 stars out of 5? It would be great if everyone in the shop could sharpen Figure Skates as well as she does! read more

We recently were invited to see the Texas Legends playing Oklahoma at the Dr. Pepper stadium for the 1st time. I didn't even know a D league existed before this. The arena itself was cool. Wasn't impressed by the lack of signage concerning where to park. There are apartments all around and it was a little confusing since we had never been here and didn't enter right at the parking garage. The hockey arena is on the first level, along with a gift shop, and then you go upstairs to the arena. Typical fair type arena food...wish they had more healthy or gluten free options. The game was ok...was happy the tix were free. read more

Comerica Center needs to review their event staff on the ground moderators (yellow shirts). Watched Crystal by Cirque Du Soleil and saw overzealous yellow shirt wearing hawks trying to catch folks filming videos and photos with their camera phones every couple of minutes or so. They kept walking up and down the stairs monitoring violators (pointing at them, cutting through, etc) and ruined our enjoyment of the show. They even held up signs and made announcements about this issue during intermission. Felt like a TSA situation at the airport going way over board. The only way to stop people from taking photos and or film is to hold their phones which is not going to happen. Extremely annoying when you are watching a 90 minute show and have to deal with these unnecessary distractions. Not attending any more future events that will take place at the Comerica Center. read more

A zoo! Tonight, my husband and I decided to go to our first Texas Legends basketball game. Easier on the wallet than a Mavericks game. We left at halftime. If you're interested in watching the basketball game, good luck with that. We were sitting near the aisle and for the most part, all we saw were butts and legs....And no they weren't the players. I know this market, the 'burbs, is different than the Dallas market and it's not a professional team, but geesh. Too much activity other than the game that's going on. Sensory overload. Where do I start? Ushers...I saw some but they did nothing to keep people from standing in the aisles, holding a conversation and blocking our view. As a matter of fact, they were part of group that was chit chatting. A guy in front of us would periodically stand to see what was going on. I may have seen a total of 8 minutes of the 24 minute half. I could elaborate more but from start to finish, for a basketball game, this place was a disaster. We have tickets for an Allen Wranglers game at the Allen Event Center later this month. Hope it turns out better than this. read more

OMG this thing is under construction again which is fine, but how the hell can they keep the ice frozen if they never turn on the A/C. For the past two days the locker rooms have been more like pre-game saunas. Seriously it's making the ice feel like crap. Ok, so if you're looking for rinks, this place is fine, I'm just complaining b/c I hate the heat and they charge us so much to skate, I expect better. Compared to mall rinks, this is much better. There are other rinks around town that are pretty much the same or a little better. The best time of year to skate here is during the NHL season b/c the Stars practice here and the Tornados play their home games here. The ice is kept in much better condition. At the moment I'd say this rink is acceptable but not good. (Don't even get me started on the officials-LOL) read more

Seating was awful and the jumbotron are worthless if they're not centered in the middle of the area. Parking was horrendous and the foyer area is way too small for families to visit and take pictures with the graduating seniors. I wish I could give it no stars. read more

I've been here twice to see the Texas Legends play. The first time, we had tickets that included food in the private club area. It was set up like a buffet line, but it was disappointing. The food was not good, the chicken was dry, the veggies tasted like they were canned, and the rolls were cold. I'd rather have bought a hot dog from a concession stand. The game itself was fun, but there was entirely too much going on other than the game. They have jump houses for the kids, rock wall, hula hoops set up next to the court, balls to bounce, mini trampolines. While that's all fun and everything, I found it rather unsafe. They had all these activities set up literally 10 feet away from the court. I just had visions of a player getting knocked out of bounds and running into a little toddler. Not to mention the hula hoops strewn about everywhere.. yeah that's not a fire safety hazard. -_- I do appreciate them trying to make the games fun, but it was pretty chaotic. I don't recommend if you have little kids. read more
