We came to see Sean Patton and I absolutely fell in love with the opener, Tony Casillas. Very funny dude. It was a great night filled with good comedy! The waitresses were super attentive. The line outside was an insane experience, but I'll spare you the details!! I appreciate that they lock up your phones, it really helps you stay focused without distractions.

If you are a standup fan in Austin, you have go to Comedy Mothership. Put aside how you feel about owner Joe Rogan if you need to...I did lolz...and respect the comedy that goes on at this club. They source great comedians so you are sure to enjoy the shows. But So much for me with comedy clubs is about the vibe and it's all just a bit too hardcore at Comedy Spaceship for me as a patron. I want comediens to feel free to say what they want without fear of being cancelled, I get that. But we need to be respected as the audience, as well. Most comedy clubs ask patrons not to record or photograph & are kicked out if they do. But at Comedy Mothership, your phone is locked up the entire time you're there for 2-3 hours. It just feels weird and like I'm being held captive as a patron & not respected enough to follow the rules. I've gone to Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock & been digitally locked up, which I get in those scenarios protecting the jokes and a special being recorded. But I've also attended Louis CK post scandal and we didn't have to lock our phones up, and no one took a phone out the entire show. So my rant is over and it's part of what you have to accept going here as it's a rule. But to me, locking phones for every show seems unnecessary and a bit disrespectful to those attending the show. All that aside, our server was super friendly and nice throughout the whole show. They had some interesting non-alcoholic drinks we tried - the Kill Cliff Flaming Joe 25 mg CBD canned drink ($12), Liquid Death Sparkling and Flat ($9), and their Strawberry Shandy mocktail ($9). Loved the Strawberry Shandy! They have the usual 2 drink minimum while in but they have us non-big-drinkers well covered. No food which is probably for the best. Opener was great, main comic was great, no issues getting in, very thorough security check. Overall, I had a good time and would go back again when in town.

Damaged print after one wear and no wash

I love the comedy show but I bought a hoodie in person and the print on the hoodie I bought started peeling with one wear :( And it was $70!!!

We absolutely loved our first time here! We were very overwhelmed since it's a smaller space with a lot of people, just everywhere. But we went to the little boy side and watched up and coming comedy artists and we had a blast! We will definitely be back!

A great comedic line up in the Fat Man Room on a Wednesday night. Even the owner, the man himself, Joe Rogan made it up on stage for some stand up! If you're trying to decide on which room, definitely go with this one! If you go to the 10pm show, it'll end right at 1am. And they will be placing your phone into a mechanically sealed pouch as you enter, so you will not be able to use your phone at all during the show. There is a two drink minimum per person, as usual, but there is no food offered here, so don't come hungry. Also no outside food, drinks, weapons, recording devices, or illegal drugs are allowed. They will search everywhere. FYI: marijuana is illegal in the state of Texas...although in this city of Austin, they do close their eyes to it being sold around every other corner. Just don't be blatant with it, and don't bring it into this venue.

I also have added an ftc complaint literally. Amazing security.

Ask the Community - Comedy Mothership

Is there vaket parking?

There is no valet parking. There is street parking so get there early!

Do they serve food?

No, they do not serve food in the comedy clubs only hard and soft drinks.

Is there bar seating in the club?I prefer sitting at a bar rather than a table.

Only in the very back of the room or the sides but they fill the room front to back.

How does the 2 drink minimum work if you're sober? How much do non-alcoholic drinks cost? Thanks ahead!

They offer soft drinks! They're around $5-$6. The ginger beer is good!

I ended up meeting a very nice couple who had just moved here and surprisingly was there using the same redemption of points. We were able to get in early, as they had an open mic night directly before the event. After checking in, they provided two casino tokens for the complementary drinks that came with the BILT package. They had a pretty decent bar menu and their drinks had some very unique names. I don't recall the one that I got, but it made me laugh when I read it. It was a tasty drink to say the least. Since I got one of my drinks went out to check out the patio, which was pretty expensive. They seem to have seating for a few people, and I don't think either of the food trucks were open, but I could see on a busy night how they would totally come in handy. Once they told us we were able to come inside ended up getting a table a couple rows back so I could have a good view of the stage. Slowly people started to filter in. The show was definitely not your typical comedy show. They had a drag comedy show and ended up doing 10 person debate if you will call it that. Basically they were trying to sell us the audience on what they believed was true. An example....."The hoes need to go to the gym" it's not what you think. So they ended up getting a think a minute to pitch their speech on why we should agree with them. They would ask us if we agree or disagree and it was actually pretty fun and entertaining, very interactive. I believe that the show changes I'm not sure if this would be the specific one that happens, but it was very interesting. Definitely found the venue to be very quaint and it's so close to everything on sixth Street.

We loved the show, had some food because I was so hungry, but it was good. The main event was absolutely hilarious. Even when it rained, we still had a great time. When the show ended, they evacuated everyone to make space for the next show, which I understand as it's business, but I would've liked to stay and mingle a little bit. Its hard when places are small and can only accommodate a specific number of people. However, the experience was great and we had a great time. Laughed a lot! It was definitely more the experience than the actual location.

I waved down a server who was helping a group directly in front of me...she snarkily said I have to leave my light on and that MY server would come to take my order. My server never came back except to hand me the closing check. I try to explain to her that I never got my second drink. She said oh well, last call passed (which she never told me). I ask for a receipt and she doesn't give it. I leave no tip. My charge was about 18.50. I look at my card statement the next day and it was rounded up to $20. What's so funny about this...after I told her the situation about the drink and we had no resolution...she literally went to the group on the left of me, and brought the guy a drink that he never received either! I thought the bar was closed??? Where is my drink??? Terrible. As for the comedy. They sucked. From the opener doing some lame "Robert De Niro" impression, to Brian Simpson (a pro). The jokes were not funny in the slightest. The audience didn't really laugh either. Overall, this was my 2nd time here and the negative experience is too much to look over. 2 stars.

The food has definitely improved over the years. I wasn't impressed when I first started going, but this time I had the wings, and they were pretty good. I also tasted the bacon jam burger, and it was pretty solid. I would've preferred different bread, but otherwise, I enjoyed it. The drinks are generally pretty good, too. I don't like strong drinks, so the ones served at the tables work well for me. In my experience, if you want something stronger, you're more likely to get that by going directly to the bar. We were one of the few attending who dressed up in wigs and clothes to support the event and the Queens. Our waiter was very friendly. We got our first round of orders fairly quickly, but as it started filling up we did have to hunt for him to get some items we wanted and to place other orders. We enjoyed our cocktails and food items, but most importantly we enjoyed the show and appreciated the Queens audience interactions. We were also able to separate the bills amongst us 4. They had someone outside to make $1 bill changes for larger bills so we could hand the Queens $1 bills as they walked by, which is something you typically do at a drag show. We appreciate all that Cap City does to support all different types of artists who are sharing their talents. I was lucky to see Zarna Garg perform at Cap City early this year as well, but for some reason I didn't get to writing a review after that show which was also amazing. I love how conveniently located Cap City is in the Domain with ample parking in nearby garages! I'm sure I'll be back to see many other shows here in the future.

This the same friend that I traveled to Cancun Mexico with when we were both single. We like a good party although we are now both married. Vulcan Gas Company is an event space used for concerts and special events. It combined the atmosphere of non-traditional bingo (chose artists and song names) with a DJ spinning tunes, a hostess who acted as comedian, and many audience competitions (dancing, twerking, singing, etc.). This 2-story building is large with high ceilings with a industrial feel holding 600+ people standing and 350+ people seated. Bingo Loco is so unique in that it had bursts of audience confetti, strobe lights and bubbles fired from a gun. Bingo Loco is immersive, high-energy with a DJ spinning tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Prizes included a Las Vegas trip including airfare and hotel stay, air fryer, guitar, and Pit Bull life size cutout. I liked that this place had two floors. It was big enough to hold the crowd that came for the event. The DJ and Host were funny and kept the conversation flowing well! Good music. When you try to contact the event itself in the emails where it says contact us it tells you there's no phone number and that you have to contact them by email and when you email them you get an automated response that says sorry we don't check our emails.
