I went on a wednesday at 7 showing. There were maybe 15 or less. The show itself was I think less than 90 minutes and there were new comedian coming up every 10 or so minutes. I thought the show was great. It's tough out there and I can appreciate them trying to work the crowd and get something going. A group of 4 of us bought tickets a week prior to the show. We were looking for unique things to do on a Saturday night and this was top of the list! Great reviews, great location, and it's BYOB. Tickets were $20 for front row or $15 for GA seating. We bought GA, as we figured people sitting in the front row would probably be used as part of the show and that wasn't the vibe for us. We arrived 10 min before the scheduled start of the show and quickly found seats in the 3rd row. I liked the way they set up all the seats, making it easy for everyone to have a clear view no matter where you sat. The show started a little behind schedule (~10 min) but that was ok. We used the time to use the bathroom one last time and settle into our seats. There were 6 comics and all were funny!! I enjoyed the show they set up a lot. One thing I will say is that 2 of my friends had been to EAC a few months ago and recognized 2-3 of the comics, and they were using the same exact material because my friends new pretty much every joke they were about to say. This is not an issue, but does make me wonder about how often I can come back to EAC, given that it may be the same comics with the same set. Either way, I had a great time! read more

This is a very intimate and cute spot for a unique date night! It's right off e 6th, next to La Holly/Mama Dearest and it's easy street parking depending on the time of day. Love the byob concept and for $15, we got to see 6-7 comedians so well worth it. read more

There is a lot to like about this place. First of all the comedians were hilarious. They really brought in good content, maybe except a couple of them that night. It's a BYOB place, so if you are looking for alcohol while enjoying the set, you could either pregame on East sixth or carry your own alcohol When we went there the 9 PM show was almost all sold out. We still managed to get a ticket at the door, but there were some people who came in after us who could not get in so it really depends on the night. I would say if you really want to check this place out plan in advance and maybe get a ticket. This is very much like any typical comedy club smaller venue bigger laughs. I would definitely go back. In comparison to the other comedy clubs on the east side I feel like these comedians were vetted. Their content was really good and not all comedians had the same theme either with sex drugs, etc. they covered a variety of topics my friend already wants to go back. read more

Had the chance to check out their magician comedy show with a friend and enjoyed my time overall. The show for this particular evening was held in an indoor comedy room space for about 75 people. I'm not sure if that's up to code for capacity purposes but again not my responsibility lol. The opening acts were quirky and some were funnier than others, but I enjoyed their showcase of local talent and support for these comedians. We even had an annoying heckler in the crowd and they handled him with wit and in check haha. (But also to future attendees who go -- we paid to see the acts not you. Just stay, watch, and laugh like everyone else.) I'm looking forward to my next show. I must say that the room was pretty stuffy and the ac was not doing its job, but I'm going to chalk it up to a one time issue. read more

Wow, the Yelp drama at this place is no joke! No idea what actually went on but it wasn't my experience so I'm just going to focus on that. Been a couple of times for my buddy's show called Cold Brew Comedy. Been going to that show through 2 venues and wasn't going to stop when it moved here. Definitely a weird vibe for a comedy club but more comedy is better and it almost makes the experience weirder and more fun that it's a weird dungeon house. Kind of reminds me of that BYOB place that closed on Airport Blvd. read more

So lucky to have found this place. If you're a fan of stand up comedy, and people who are actually original and witty, this is a great place to check out. I spent time exploring several different clubs in Austin, but by the end of the trip, East Austin was the stand out. They clearly take care in booking the right people. It's refreshing. The venue is very small but they don't pack it out too crazy. The entry process was super smooth and the show started within minutes of the ticket time. The BYOB is great. The lineup can always be different but we were very impressed with the lineup in our show especially for $15 tickets. Staff were friendly and helpful. We came here at Friday night. Trying to look for this place is harder to find than normal. It's hidden behind a rail road track and a building being built. So it was a bit confusing. You have look to find the sign on a street that looks like someone back yard. Any way, the venue is a bit small. It fits like 30-50 ppl in a tiny place. The stage is small and there is only one share bathroom. For 20 GA, you get to access open bar to Trader Joe's wine. It's 3/4$ trader Joe wine so don't expect to get very drunk with those. There were like 8 comedians and they were ok. Some are annoying. And some just came to complaint. Overall, a good night out with free wine and entertainment for 20. read more

Located in the heart of east Austin and less than a block away from the Scoot Inn on E. 4th street lies this small gem of a comedy club. At first glance the place is easy to overlook since it's a bit hidded. Once you see the large opened tin doors, you know you are at the right place. The venue has been opened for almost 3 months now and houses some of the best Austin & traveling comedians from all around every Thurs, Fri. and Sat. night. They always have an early and a later show. Thurs times are 7pm & 9pm, Fri & Sat are 8pm & 10pm. The shows have been selling out lately so I highly recommend buying your tickets online early to avoid missing out. The venue houses 45 seats. The shows have 4 rotating resident hosts that are guaranteed to make you laugh (Andre Ricks, Raza Jafri, Ben Howard, Alden Schaub) along with an average of 7 showcased comics each night. To top it off the venue is BYOB and free wine and bottled water is provided complimentary to all ticket holders. So, I had never even heard of this spot before but it ended up being a great experience. Two VERY important words come to mind: AIR-CONDITIONING. Is that technically one word??? Anywho.... The AC was top notch in this Texas heat and with 30+ people in a small room it was definitely needed. Like, they've got some Grade A systems working in there, it was awesome. It seems very "DIY" type venue which is cool for the easy going folks, but people who are a bit more upscale might not be a fan. I was digging the Twin Peaks-esque red curtains. At first we were kind of confused as to whether we were even in the right spot, but with some guidance we made it in. If I'm ever in the area and there's a standup show I'd definitely take another trip there for an intimate show. read more

The Tiger Den, raaaharr! it's super fun. You walk up to the front and see it lit with a red rope light on the walking path. A doorman greets you for your admission, which is typically $10.00. You get free wine or whatever drinks they have during the show. It feels a bit divey when you are on site where the far back building is the actual comedy show with AC. They have a regular bathroom inside and a portapotty outside. The inside space is super David Lynch-y with entire wall covered in red velvet curtains . Comedians change each week and some are visiting from other states. The crowd engagement is hilarious in this small intimate space but no fear if you don't want to be called out. They only pick on the vocal people. Bartenders work on tips so bring cash or be venmo ready. The local comedians are all super friendly and engaging after the show. They actually love to hear your feedback! This venue is temporary for this comedy show so make sure you catch one before they close by the end of the year. I had been pretty excited to find this spot that had regular shows all through the week, with fair ticket prices, and the BYOB options. Almost seemed too good to be true, but was hopeful and thought it could be a consistent place to go. However, we went nearby the venue to have a couple drinks an hour early, and the club seemed like they weren't preparing for a show at all. Doors were set to open at 4:30p, and at around 4:00p, I got an email that said I was being refunded for our tickets. I understand if seats don't seem to be selling for a particular show, that it might not go. But give some notice. Minutes before doors open is really trashy in my book, as I had to travel down and have a babysitter setup. read more

This place is a great night out with friends. They had some free wine for whenever you got there, and they also have a bar in the back. It feels really local. I went to a 7pm show and we were the only people there. Maybe like 8 people. I'd recommend going to a later show because they'll probably fill up more. A full crowd will make the show funnier. The comics did not shy away from heavy jokes which made things funnier. Don't come if you're not ready to hear that. I recommend getting a few drinks on east 6th, getting to the place a little early for some free wine, and enjoying a late night show. read more

Was not sure what to expect when I was invited to a comedy show here, but have to admit this place is great. It's tucked in in the Eastside and it feels like an underground venue. It's BYOB and they include free Trader Joe's wine with your ticket purchase. Everyone is super friendly, they provide plastic cups and offer to open your wine bottle (if you prefer to be classy like us and bring your own lol).
