I was starstruck so I didn't say anything. When you're a kid, it's so cool to see a celebrity in real life. The whole thing was so normal, no pretentious behavior or "do you know who I am" stuff. Chuck Scarborough was one of New York's greatest broadcast journalists - so consistently professional and reassuring. After over 50 years, he finally retired. Whoever hired him at NBC made the right call. NBC also produced the show Law and Order - great series especially the ones with Jerry Orbach as Detective Lennie Briscoe (one of the best actors in the history of crime television; he unfortunately passed in 2004). And Late Night too. Lots of great shows on NBC.

I'm so unhappy it's going off the air after 17 years and 2000 shows. I'm watching the summer reruns and hoping I can find it on UTUBE in the future. I would love to watch the old shows from years ago. Watching it I loved to vicariously visit the Troubadour and other music venues. I got to see unknown bands and learn a lot about the latest movies, actors, comedians, and creative talents in the entertainment industry. I'm going to miss Last Call a lot. I hope NBC or another network develops a show similar. We need another show like American Bandstand or Soul Train but with the additional range of interests that were provided on Last Call. Enough said. I'm a fan of NBC anyway. For Now! Yelpers remember when I was on Jimmy Fallon Show. So much fun! See my profile photo. I'm going to try to get tickets to another show some day. I signed up for our NYC public television emails. WNET Channel 13. There's such a variety of excellent shows on. I've done some screenshots from my emails of the current shows on in October. I can't say enough about this Network and the benefits of public broadcasting. I wish I could afford to donate. I also wish I wouldn't fall asleep during the shows. Oh well! I highly recommend you tune in. Look up the network in your area. Let's all support public television and put the cable and Internet TV out of business. I've always been a fan of their broadcasting especially the arts and entertainment stuff they've always provided throughout the years. I will say that I used to be a member and always donated to the cause but admittedly a few years back they did lose Me. This latest move however shows that PBS has grown a set of balls and is willing to take risks which are in My opinion worth while. Consider Me back on board; go online thirteen.org or call 1.800.468.9913 This concert which was originally filmed in 2019 was supposed to be released to indoor IMAX theaters and like everything else it took a back seat to Covid. In August it was released to pop up outdoor drive in theaters where each car was charged a fee for access. This type of venue did not do this show any justice and it was not appreciated by anyone but true hardcore Metallica fans. Much like the first S & M offering it is an incredible melding of two entirely different styles of music but somehow it works and in a Huge Killer way. I got a text the night of the PBS show from My fellow Music Lover and Yelp Sister Mercedes C. who told Me about it, and again the following morning She said "Man that Shiit was Fire"!! and I couldn't have said it any better Myself. I didn't realize "That '70s Show" is Fox's second longest running live-action sitcom, and that it aired for eight seasons. I lost track of Fox in the early 2000s as they were jumping on the reality television train, and their program offerings were not interesting to me. I do like, that Fox, unlike the other "big three" networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) does not air network daytime programming such as soap operas, game shows, or talk shows. The risks are a good reason to watch or in my case, glimpse the Sunday spectacle on September 7th, which included feathery pastel boas, fluffy hats, bedazzled cups, and a Labubu doll dressed as an astronautical Moon Person! I WANT MY MTV!!!!!!! The early 80s+ anthem!…read more The "I want my MTV" campaign included ads where rock stars such as Pete Townsend and the Police would say "I want my MTV," endorsing the channel. Music Television officially launched on 8-1-1981, airing music videos and related programs hosted by video jockeys, or VJs. Martha Quinn, the "girl next door" VJ still hosts a daily show on Sirius XM Radio's "The 80s on 8" station. MTV dominated pop culture in the 80s! The first words when MTV initially aired were spoken by one of MTV's creators, John Lack: "Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll." A nod, perhaps, to the iconic, legendary Lemmy Kilmister's opening of every Motorhead show with, "We are Motorhead...And We play rock and roll!" Because of MTV, I threw teenage caution to the wind and paid for my family's cable television! This was a serious commitment in 1981. My favorite artists' videos at that time were Stevie Nicks, Billy Idol, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Police, Ratt (who's autograph I got when they came to Huntsville), U2, ZZ Top, and of course Van Halen (in the David Lee Roth or "Diamond Dave") days! Who can forget the iconic moment Courtney Cox was pulled onstage in the Bruce Springsteen video, "Dancing in the Dark?!" That was an adorable moment and probably a game-changer for her pending generations-long acting career! Stand out videos were Michael Jackson's "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Beat it"(all in 1983); "1999" by Prince in 1983; and Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" featuring Tawny Kitaen in 1987. We were all glued to MTV on July 13, 1985, when MTV showed the Live Aid concerts (broadcasting 16 hours of coverage,) held in London and Philadelphia and organized by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The 1983 US Festival from 5/28/83-5/30/83 featured Van Halen who headlined on "Heavy Metal Day." To experience VH, my crew and I rented a hotel room (Kings Inn, S. Memorial Parkway, Huntsville - still there to this day); rounded up our 110 cameras, stocked up on fast food takeout, filled the bathtub with ice and cold bottled of Busch, and settled in to watch the show on the room's cable TV and enjoy the swimming pool. ((Good times!!)) Other than a few interesting videos in the 90s, MTV pretty much died for me in the 80s. It was a great ride, though! Thank you MTV!

Over the years HBO continues to premiere good movies, captivating series, special events and documentaries. Since The Sopranos, we have enjoyed series such as: Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, True Detective, Succession, Euphoria, Gilded Age, Silicon Valley, White Lotus, Industry, The Last Of Us, and Plus, a few documentaries: 'The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst' 'Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind', 'The Crime of the Century' which investigated the role of the pharmaceutical industry in the opioid crisis, the series 'Autopsy' with Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Baden (where I assisted Executive Producer, Gaby Monet with content - long story) ;) and currently, 'My Mom Jayne' the stunning well edited and revealing documentary by Mariska Hargitay about the mom she never knew until now, Jayne Mansfield.
