It came with a cornbread, a buttery biscuit, and banana pudding. I was pleasantly surprised by the other items since the ordering site only listed the entree. Best Shrimp & Grits I've had to date. The shrimp was fresh and not overcooked or rubbery. The grits were smooth. The gravy was well seasoned, but not overly salty or rich. The cornbread and bread or biscuit was good, but not extraordinary. Those were quite dense and heavy paired with the other food. I loved the banana pudding. This meal jumpstarted my banana pudding hyper fixation. Very fragrant and not too thick yet still nice and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy either. It was a good dessert to round out the meal. I hope to come here again and have an actual sit down experience. Curious to see the ambiance!

So today I had a REAL taste for some good soul food... you know the kind that just hits your spirit…read more But I was not about to make that drive all the way to Atlanta, so I decided to order through Uber Eats from Busy Bee Let me tell y'all... that was one of the BEST decisions I've made in a minute! I ordered for my whole crew -- my mom, my sister, my brother-in-law, my nephew, and myself -- and we went ALL IN. We had smothered pork chops, buy one get one free smothered chicken wings AND fried chicken wings (because why not! ), plus broccoli & cheese casserole, turnip greens, mashed potatoes, and that cornbread stuffing... BABYYYYY... when I say every single bite was GOOD... I mean GOOD GOOD Everything was seasoned just right, cooked with love, and giving real, authentic, down-home soul food. You can tell this is the kind of food that's been perfected over time -- not rushed, not watered down... just straight comfort on a plate. We were literally sitting there eating and just looking at each other like "yeah... this is it right here" That's when you KNOW the food hit! I'm already planning my next order -- whether it's for my family again or just me having a "treat myself" day. Because yes... it's THAT serious. And listen... I'm just gonna be honest... in MY humble opinion this right here is better than Paschal's. I said what I said! Don't come for me But for real, thank you Busy Bee for coming THROUGH with some amazing, authentic soul food that really fed the soul today If you haven't tried it yet... what are you waiting on?! Go get you some! Trust me... you're gonna be thinking about that next plate before you even finish the first one

I ordered take-out online and it said the order would take 45 minutes. Our order ended up taking more like one hour plus. I ordered the two-piece fried chicken platter, and the food runner told me the kitchen originally was going to give me only two drumsticks, but she told the kitchen to make me another order because two drumsticks was too little meat. I appreciated that gesture. Unfortunately, I didn't think their fried chicken lived up to the hype. I thought the skin was nicely crisp, but the flavor was simple and not impressive for the price and long wait. Also, they completely missed one of my side orders, and I didn't realize it until we had already left. I've eaten fried chicken from all kinds of different cuisines, so I found the fried chicken here a bit lackluster. Maybe their other food is better, but I don't think the fried chicken is worth the price or the wait. Also, be careful of missing food in your order because from reading some reviews, it seems that it happens too often.

What a great experience sitting at the bar for dinner…read more I was quickly greeted and got my drink order taken care of. I ordered a two piece white with slaw and greens. Awesome flavor! The staff let me sample the potato salad which was amazing. Was told the story about the lady that makes the pies and had a slice of pecan. Very good. While I admire their aspiration, the fact that I and many others didn't even get to try their self proclaimed world famous chicken makes that lofty goal pretty impossible to attain. What I mean by that is their service and kitchen are so extremely slow that they are constantly turning customers away. On a trip to Atlanta, I visited the restaurant with a party of 5. We seated ourselves because the sign told us to do so. But for more than 20 minutes we were ignored. I had to grab menus myself and had the greatest difficulty flagging down a server. When I was finally able to flag someone down to take orders, they said the food will be a 40-60min wait. First impression of this place is horrible, floors are sticky and a part of the table was not properly cleaned off with chicken batter crumbs still present. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, but the lack of service and care is totally unforgivable. I heard from a friend after the fact, who came by the restaurant earlier that same evening, that the situation was similar at that point. At that point the restaurant was pretty empty, and they said the estimated food wait time was more or less the same as what we were told. We left right after without trying the chicken. And so did my friend who tried visiting earlier in the evening. World famous? Not quite.

I looked through multiple photos on Yelp, and everything already looked underwhelming, which is why I settled on something that seemed hard to mess up. To my surprise, even that was disappointing. Unfortunately, my food was cold and dry. The grits ARE NOT traditional grits and resembled overcooked rice. The macaroni&cheese was dry and lackluster, and the chicken thigh tasted as if it was refried, resulting in it being overcooked. Everything needed seasoning. Service felt combative. Our food was dropped off, and the server didn't return until it was time to ask about the check, even though we were still eating. Tourist may be keeping this place open. If you're local, this may be a spot to grab a quick shot and hear the band for a song or two, but I'd lower expectations for everything else.

I stopped nearby for something else, got a recommendation from a local, and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. The building has great curb appeal--fresh paint, clean signage, and a tidy appearance that pulls you in. Inside, it's a casual, counter-service setup with a clean, open dining room and a few booths around the edge. The vibe is informal and welcoming. The food is served cafeteria-style: you pick your meat and sides, and they plate it for you. While the default seems to be takeout, you're welcome to sit and eat there. I went with the baked chicken, which comes with rice and gravy and includes two sides. I picked cabbage and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was exactly what you'd hope for--cheesy, creamy, smooth, and flavorful with satisfying cheese pulls in every bite. The cabbage was cooked just right--tender but not mushy--with great seasoning. The rice and gravy had deep, balanced flavor without being too salty or heavy. In fact, nothing was oversalted, which is a rare and welcome surprise in a small spot like this. The meal also came with a small cornbread muffin that hit the spot. Dessert options included hot cobblers like apple and peach, along with a tempting variety of cake slices--all of which looked fantastic.
