The wing sizes vary a bit so bit of a crapshoot but they are cooked and seasoned well. The Philly is one of the better ones in the city and absolutely hits the spot when craving one. Not sure about where all the bad ratings are coming from I'm new to Atlanta but I've tried this place twice so far I've had the chicken and waffles the chicken was well seasoned the was very flavorful not is Chris as I usually like them but had a delicious cinnamon taste. I expected more from a black owned business. I ordered the shrimp and grits and I tell you it was a huge waste of money! They give you like 20 little shrimp and the grits have no flavor. Now tell me why would you sell grits with no flavor not even butter in the hood! That was the most disgusting breakfast I've had in a long time and I really wish they would've told me it was flavorless. French toast was actually descent but they messed up my order and didn't fry the other shrimp and grits. I had them remade but I never came back to get it, that says a lot about what the food tasted like. So not only did I not get to finish my breakfast but I left a whole plate considering it was not worth returning for! Respectfully I was not a fan. The owner, (I guess, he was behind the counter and had a sense of pride about him) was very nice and welcoming which is why I am giving 3, but the food and the price for the food just were not there. I cannot really say it was over priced, two people for $24, it was more so the portions and the taste or lack there of of the food. Someone else wrote a review and I have to agree, the food is simple. Bland, like bland bland had to use all the syrup on my French toast and wish I had more simple, all the salt, pepper, and ketchup I could for my eggs and grits, and the bacon that I got was even bland and was not anything different then what you could have bought at Kroger. My friend was never very ecstatic about her meal either. We left hungry and my pocket a little sore. The owner/cashier did not ask if it was here or to go and just put everything in a to go box, we ate there. He is really nice and will put anything on the tv that you would like, even has a fire stick if you want to watch a movie (nice tv screens, 3 of them in total that I saw). Just couldn't get over the food which really saddened me because he has a great menu and it could just be that I got the wrong thing, but I am not one to rush back to a place to try something else that, in my opinion, is overpriced, just to see if it is better then what I had the first time. went in for breakfast, ordered pancakes & bacon. took a little too long IMO, for just pancakes n bacon... esp since i was the only person there at the time. the bacon was yummy, thick and cooked perfectly. i did not like the pancakes. i am a bit of a pancake connoiseur and i like mine golden, fluffy, buttery, with a crispy edge (think cracker barrel). these were a bit beige and thick and kind of boring. tasted like they had cinnamon in them too--which is fine sometimes, but at the moment, i just wanted a good old fashioned original pancake. might check out some other stuff on menu since they are located so close to home, so not ruling them out quite yet... read more

Today, I ordered the whiting plate with three filets which comes with fries and a drink, in addition to ten lemon pepper wings. I'm pregnant so my appetite is pretty healthy and I wanted to make sure I had enough food. I ordered through UberEATS and for some reason that usually means something will be missing -- so it was no surprise that thugs weren't quite right. I will say that although I asked for lemonade and got sprite and blue cheese dressing and got ranch, they did have all the elements. So that was a plus. So I was so excited to have a new business in this all but forgotten neighborhood. I was one of the first customers and even was so happy I agreed to reprint several to-go menu's when the restauranteur had run out. I have been several times and things do not get better. The chicken wings are very tiny. The wait for food is a lil extreme. No one will bring your food to your table but they prominently display a tip jar for doing nothing but handing you your food order. I had dreams of being able to enjoy a delicious cooked meal here for dinner or breakfast but this place is a let down. You know that feeling when you want something that tastes authentic, unique and genuine, like someone's diabetic fat aunt made it? Well this is not that place. The owner may think he is giving the people what they want but he could do so much better. The chicken is always overcooked, the service is always lacklustre and this place has had too much time to clean up its act. I have ordered from here numerous times via. Uber Eats. Im a pretty predictable order-er. I get the same thing all the time. So far, I have tried the french toast (cooked perfectly), fried egg, Pancakes (very buttery and moist), bacon, grits, and shrimp quesadilla. The grits didnt have flavor so I only ordered those once. The quesadilla was great, Just needed some sour cream. Once I ordered (3) pancakes and only got (2), as soon as I called, the guy (chris) fixed it immediately and threw in 3 pancakes on my next order. I rode by once just to see where I was ordering from. I decided to write a review about this place because it doesn't have many. I absolutely loved it. I got the 10 wings with fries combo for $6.50 through UberEats. The wings were well seasoned and the buffalo sauce was good. The fries were like beer battered fries. This is the best price I've ever seen for wings. Around 8 pm, we ordered food thru Uber Eats for a small meal at 'Sum-Thing Simple Cafe.' We try to frequent locally owned restaurants and ordered our meal with an expected delivery time of 8:50 pm. Well, as time got closer, the order was extended to 9:00, then 9:11, then 9:17 and then it was canceled about a minute before we expected another extension. Not only had we waited the first 50 minutes expecting the food was being prepared, but then when it got extended several times and finally canceled - with not so much as a "sorry" or "hey! we never got started"- WE GOT NOTHING!
