In the process of getting it repaired, I also learned that the owners at CPU are not interested in the Sandwich community or helping people...just making a buck anyway they can, no matter who gets hurt in the process. In the case of my mother: I brought her like-new 2-year old Sony laptop (which I had purchased for her and had used perfectly on a recent previous visit) simply to have a webcam installed. Sadly, the greedy owners at Computers & Performance Upgrades told me the laptop was badly infected with malicious viruses and needed a complete operating system reinstall--which was absolutely untrue (my mother seldom if ever goes online; she mostly plays local CD-based games like Solitaire). As I'm not that tech savvy (nor is my mother), she insisted on paying the eye-gouging bill herself for the wholly unnecessary procedure--something that was incredibly hard on a fixed retirement budget. I wonder how many other people like myself and my elderly mother have had their tech ignorance taken advantage of, and been sold unnecessary services, repairs and parts by Computers & Performance Upgrades in the past few years. It's clear from my dealings with them that they've been taking advantage of the uninformed and elderly for years--praying on ignorance, raping bank accounts and employing the worst in scare tactics...all to fleece their vulnerable & trusting customers.

The experience with this store was an absolute cluster!!! I had a high value auction shipment…read morescheduled through them, based on the auction house's recommendation. The early part went well - getting a quote. From there, it was downhill. I had specifically instructed the assistant store manager Alex S and paid for the item to be shipped only via UPS! They shipped via FedEx because it was cheaper for them. When they attempted a recall they lost track of it "in the FedEx network". I would absolutely NOT recommend them for anything of value or importance. They are the textbook definition of a logistics disaster. In a country with at-will employment that rewards merit, how such incompetent people keep their job is a mystery. But worse yet, is the owner of this store that cared neither about his customer nor his employees. He let an employee that had failed in the first place continue to muddle along while not having the courtesy to contact the customer to fix things. Sadly, Yelp does not allow less than one star. In summary, there is nothing "Qwik" about them when it comes to "ship". UPS eventually delivered the package on June 16 after FedEx trucked it coast to coast 4 times since May 11. The long logistics nightmare is finally over for an item I purchased in April.
