I got text messages and e-mails from them regarding when the electrician would be coming by. I appreciated Renee's great communication. Santos came by, and he gave us a quote for how much each part of the job would cost. We asked him to get started, and he enthusiastically did it. Not only was he professional, friendly and great to talk to.. he also did the job efficiently and perfectly! We were so happy to have the ceiling fan installed. We even asked him questions related to our GFCI outlets and a power surge thing that was left by the previous owners. We also asked him for recommendations related to generators. He gave us great advice. Shortly after, Renee messaged me saying that Dave could come by that same day to check out what we needed for the generator. Let me start by saying we went to 4 different Electric companies for a quote. We had some major damage due to lightning strike and directly hit our house. I ended up using Colvin Electric and so happy we did. They had a fair price and seemed to be more complete. Hayward was our Electric technician whom made several suggestions on how to save more money and better protect our home? He was always on time did more than we expected and cleaned up never left anything dirty only a clean and professional job. BEWARE!!!! PRICE GOUGING!!! So I called Colvin electric to see if they could give me a ball park price for the job I wanted done. We had trenches dug and filled with the conduit in place. I needed two 30 amp plugs for our Airbnb trailers, so 90 feet of romex wire was needed, also a plug 30 feet from our house. It was also trenched, had the conduit and back filled. When I called they said they don't give rough estimates over the phone, but they can send out a technician to estimate. Ok that's fine! Send him out. He looked at the job, and emailed me an estimate. Then I got a invoice for $50 for the estimate. Here's my problem, they sent out they're guy and gave a BOGUS price gouging quote, I called 2 other electricians one said 1500 for the ENTIRE job but he was booked out for weeks. Then I called Josh at Pucek Power. He was a little more but could get the job done sooner. Hey my husband is in construction, I understand the different companies charge different prices. Colvin Electric's "quote" was TRIPLE of what Josh at Pucek power charged. Complete GARBAGE, after I called the other two companies I called Colvin electric and asked why they're quote is so much, two other companies are a third of they're price. I told them I don't understand because I looked up all the reviews and everyone said they're competitively priced. Not the case. Not only did they come out give an outrageous quote but then threaten to LEAN my property if I didn't pay the $50 estimate charge. I called them back and payed the $50. I had several electrical outlets in my home that were no longer working. Hayward taught me a little something about GFI "master" switch outlets. Fantastic! This company does it right! From my first interaction (a request for a quote through Yelp) to my last follow up email, Colvin Electric was super responsive, professional, thorough and friendly. Their price was fair, the work was perfect and the effort they put in to protecting your home and family was so respectful- booties that they took off and put on EVERY TIME they go in and out, masks at all times and a perfectly clean worksite upon completion. A huge plus for me was the fact that they communicated so well. All appointments were confirmed in a 3 hour window via text and the day of you get a text saying which technician is on the way, as well as a picture and bio for the person who will be in your home! In progress work with Colvin Electric( to be continued....) Currently, we have purchased a hottub and based on reviews that I have read Colvin Electric was recommended. I firmly believe that workmanship, communication, and respect from both parties are placed above cost. So I called and booked an appointment; initially there earliest appointment was on Wednesday(I'm calling on a Monday). I thought no big deal because I was excited to get this project done. After I wrapped up work projects on Monday I decided to call back just to see if he had any cancellations.... and they did; Tuesday between 2-5 and my kids were excited because it is almost time to enjoy the new purchase. Tuesday rolls around.... Colvin communicated with me during the day and informed me that Francisco would be showing up at 2pm. Colvin sent me his photo and a little bio which I was extremely impressed with. He was on time at 2pm; wearing COVID precautions which I appreciated and was extremely friendly to my wife and I. We showed him around and walked him back to where we wearing needing it hooked up and he was extremely grateful. He informed us about the additional service plans they offer and surge protection options, which was not expected but it made us consider purchasing. He told us that he would work up an estimate including the additional 120v outlet we were wanting as well. He walked into our backyard multiple times taking measurements and at 3:50 he came back with our estimate. While it was a little higher than I thought we really liked him and appreciated his communication and attention to detail. He told us that he would contact his manager and let us know when they would be back out because they would need to trench an area to ensure it was up to code. Of course we were not expecting the work to be done today but hoping it would be done over the next two days. He came back after and told us that they would be out first thing in the morning on Wednesday(next day)at 9am. My kids were excited, we signed for the work, and also accepted the monthly maintenance plan(can't complain saved us 10%) and he left. Fast forward.... 20 minutes later... we receive a call from the Colvin office. A rep informed us that they can't be out here till Friday because of his schedule. I said "I'm sorry I am a little confused, he just left and told me tomorrow." I don't know what happened over 20 minutes but ok. This is a little perturbing since I signed knowing he would be here tomorrow but ok. I called back 4 minutes after and asked if there was a waiting list. She said if 2-4 jobs are cancelled then they can move me up. Friday has arrived and David and Francisco were prompt and on time. I received information on the addition resource(David) needed for my job and couldn't have been more impressed. These guys worked all day and my kids continually brought gatorades and waters out because it was so hot. They were extremely friendly and let me know throughout the day how the progress was coming. They additionally took care of the recent yard work we had done basically making it look like the new electric work was done after. Our service rep/manager Michael Galvez was super awesome, educational and professional. He was also very considerate of our home as he was walking around assessing the issue and it was resolved in less than 10 minutes. One of of my other favorite experience was that days before my repair, I was notified via phone to confirm my appointment with reminders. We had a great experience with Colvin Electric and can't speak highly enough of Ivan Torres. He was friendly, professional, and very communicative and responsive throughout the service process. My husband and I initially called Colvin Electric because we'd lost power to one room in our house. My husband has done basic wiring and thought he would fix it himself, but it turned out to be more complicated than he'd expected. Colvin came to diagnose that problem and we also asked them replace our old Federal Pacific breaker panel. They gave us a quote (which was much better than quotes we received from other places) and we scheduled a time for them to come back and do the work. They do seem to be pretty busy, because we had to wait a couple weeks, but we are glad we did. (It seems that most electricians are really busy during this COVID season when so many people are doing home repairs and remodels!) They replaced the panel and had to test all of the breaker switches to identify them and label them. They were very professional and considerate as they worked through each room in our house, testing outlets and flipping switches. Due to an unforeseen circumstance with the city, the inspector wasn't able to come and sign off on the work, so they had to stay very late and get a temporary approval so that our electricity could be turned on. We appreciated their professionalism, the fact that they were able to find a temporary solution, and that they were committed to staying until everything was taken care of. Due to that situation with the city inspector, they did not have time to fix the electricity in the room we had initially called about! But they got us back on the schedule for the next week and were able to take care of the problem in about 30 minutes! It turns out that the problem started with a neutral on the outlet behind our fridge, which is in a completely separate room than the one that lost power. We were impressed with how quickly and simply they identified and resolved the issue. They did a great job on replacing the breaker panel and repairing the electricity in the previously dark room! We will not hesitate to call Colvin Electric ANY TIME we need electrical work done. read more

I sent an online inquiry to Colvin to get an estimate for installing an inlet box and transfer switch for my generator. They were quick to respond and set up an appointment. The electrician who came out was very helpful and patiently explained all the options with a detailed estimate. A few weeks later, I called to schedule the work, and the customer service rep was friendly and professional and explained how much time it would take to order the necessary parts. From a customer service perspective they were very good. They communicated with me as needed and were very friendly. They came out to provide an estimate on the work. The two gentlemen were friendly (except one was not wearing a mask - as the office assured me is the rule, not the exception). They told me exactly what the problem was and why - I was provided with 2-estimates based on the amount of work to be done. Unfortunately, our experience was not as positive as other reviews. As far as the scheduler, I appreciate her friendly and professional attitude when texting me. I also appreciate how you spelled out exactly how this was going to go with the three quotes and the $50 trip charge if we did not use them. I just wish your management and the electrician would've done what you said they would do. My wife did talk to the management but afterwards said that he was no help. We woke up to learn all of the power to our office was completely out impacting our internet and wine fridge. Needless to say, we were eager to resolve the issue. I found Colvin Electric online and was lucky enough to get a same day appt (they had had a cancellation). First, I love that they text you when they're en route and provide a picture and qualification summary of the technician assigned to you. Awesome feature. Our first technician Hayward was timely, professional and honest. He checked all the outlets in the office and said the outlet behind the wine fridge was likely the culprit but he couldn't access it as the fridge had been professionally installed. Our next appointment I timed to have the refrigerator repair man and the electrician there at the same time. That's not easy to do with lengthy arrival windows but Michael Galvez (Haywards manager) could not have been more accommodating or helpful. Candidly, the fridge repairman was extremely difficult to work with and Michael went above and beyond to help me manage an unnecessarily taxing situation. Michael was friendly, extremely knowledgeable in his trade, patient, and determined to get the job done right - which is exactly what he did. I honestly could not have been more thankful for him as a person and electrician that day. Bottom line, you get what you pay for with this company and I'll be calling them for any future electrical work we require. My call was answered and not sent to a voicemail and I was given the next available time slot. They called to reschedule on the same day that I was booked for an electrical problem at my home. I accepted the new time/date. They said my appointment would be between 2 PM and 6 PM. I took an afternoon off to meet the electrician. At 4 PM they called to cancel and wanted to reschedule three days later. I lost four hours plus of pay to wait during their "window." They lost nothing. They cannot be trusted. I suspect their insurance cover has expired, as well. Steer clear of these folks -- their favorite words are "I apologize." Not too impressed. I needed garage light fixture replaced, a light switch replaced, and a kitchen fixture moved. The work was very well done but I believe I was WAY overcharged. The original bid was about $600 (which I thought was high) but I wanted to get the work done so I agreed to pay it. When they moved the kitchen fixture, they said I needed a new box capable of handling the weight of the fixture which added about $150 to the bill. The electrician had to go to Home Depot to get the right box. The bill was paid IN FULL, by credit card, at the time of service (03 Sep). I got a call on 16 Sep asking how I intended to pay the $600 that was still owed! I told the caller that I had paid in full on the day of service and their request was not valid. I asked to speak with the supervisor and was never able to talk to him/her. I do not intend to use Colvin Electric again and certainly will not recommend them to any of the homeowners in Sun City. read more

Upon making a request for a consultation, I received a friendly introductory email from a manager. Before coming out they sent me alerts about their arrival time. They arrived on time. The service manager and technician learned what my needs were and did some inspections. They took a few minutes and then gave me some prices based on options.
