I hardly even eat meat in the US! But that bacon... I don't think I've ever tasted such a piece of meat so meaty as that bacon! Like now I understand why the pig is the king of meat! Taste that bacon and you'll understand why too! And for somebody who's not much of a meat eater, it blew my head! I was barely able to eat a half a piece. It was very rich and super meaty! Now I'm curious how are we eating this so-called bacon in the US I ate the poutine Bowl. Do know as an American it is not seasoned how we would eat it. Which might be healthier! But they have a homemade hot sauce you can add to it! Which really worked for me! But those pancakes.. sorry I just can't move from them! Well you know you're in canada... these people are friendliest as f***! I mean I just can't see there being bad service at anything in toronto! So I don't even know why they would ask! Hell the homeless people are friendly! I'm certain if I ran into a crack addict they would be just as friendly! This play stayed pack! And it's very small and quaint. Keep it that way! We will survive! I bet they stay packed in the winter time! Those pancakes would be enough to give me out of the house during cold weather! Also.... THEY PAY THEIR SERVERS A LIVING WAGE!! Impressive!

We seated, then everything was a bit of a wait as a server was looking after many tables. The Bowl-Sunrise was a bad choice as it came with many fried potatoes & the chorizo sausage was crumbled and deep fried, I could hardly taste the sausage, though the sunny side up egg was great. The Avocado Lox was a much better choice and the flat white was so so. We ended up paying $63 (tax & service charge inclusive), there are many more comparable choices at this price point.

First impressions? Wow. Aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. It was empty when I arrived, but the first thing that caught my eye was the attention to detail, to the colour scheme and decor. There's a cute patio outside. Inside? Beautiful interiors and the dishes used? A perfect match. A flower wall at the back with a neon sign also adorns the place. Overall, I felt the place is warm, cozy and inviting. Staff very friendly and even gave us recommendations on what to order. We ordered a gozleme (stuffed flatbread) and a slice of trilece. My only regret? Not ordering more. We were served complimentary Turkish tea. As for the food, I loved every bite and savored the touch of love added. I especially loved the trilece which was not too sweet, but just right. Washroom was also very clean. I instantly recommended this place to a friend who lives in the area. As for me, I look forward to coming back sooner than later, perhaps for their breakfast as it is a breakfast café after all. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the menu as it feels a little crammed and a bit hard to read with so much info on just 3 pages, but otherwise, everything else was great.

Maybe I should have said something, it's telling that I didn't (I suspected I wasn't going to be understood and if a server is willing to hand over crumbled cookies, can I expected any ROI by saying anything?? And as a food lover I fell in love again with the gorgeously presented and delicious lunch I had! A friend introduced me to this amazing restaurant and it was an exhilarating dining experience. Speducci Mercatto is an authentic Italian restaurant, café, and market in Toronto's Castlefield Design District. My friend knew I'm a huge foodie and I trusted her for ordering our lunch for us. This is what we shared... Antipasti: Frittura di Pesce Calamari / shrimp / cod / carrots / zucchini / shishito peppers / lemon aioli Pizze: Ortolana San Marzano tomato sauce / sweet peppers / zucchini / eggplant / cherry tomatoes / shitake mushrooms / fior di latte Paste: Strozzapreti alla Guancia di Manzo Strozzapreti / beef cheek ragu / spinach / pecorino fondue Dessert: Bignè 3 colori 3 bignes / pistachio / vanilla / strawberry, ricotta gelato, and candied orange peel. Everything was so delicious and fresh! I was savouring each bite. The calamari was so light and crispy and I loved the additions of colourful zucchini and carrots that set this apart from other calamari I've had. The vegetarian pizza tasted great, flavourful and healthy with all the delicious veggies on a thin crust. The slow roasted beef cheek for the pasta dish was also full of delicious flavour. The dessert was fantastic and each bite was so heavenly. I loved the look of the dessert so much I needed a moment to enjoy its beauty. So a huge shout out to the chef because the presentation looked like a work of art! I had to take many photos of each dish while fending off my friend from digging in! Also a big shout out for the excellent service from our servers Lola and Chris. They were fantastic in answering questions I had about the food and learned that the pasta was house-made. I'm also a fan of mineral water for the health benefits and happy to see they had an Italian brand that was a new taste experience called Fontalbo. Another thanks to Lola and Chris who were kind enough to grant my request to take photos of us with the delicious food and beautiful movie posters. If I could give an award for best Foodgasm I had at this restaurant I would! Highly recommend! I look forward to returning!

The restaurant took over the previous space of the restaurant Grapefruit Moon. This neighbourhood gem has both indoor seating for around 25 customers and a cute outdoor patio as well to the side when the weather is nice. I stopped by Daisy May's on a Thurs morning, shortly after they opened. The place wasn't busy at all and I was actually their only customer during my time there. The menu is divided up into small plates, brunch (think breakfast sandwich, eggs benny, a tartine, steak frites, and french toast), sandwiches (like the Cubano, a double smashburger, and the chicken club to name a few), as well as sides (fries, slaw, tater tots), and dessert (they have a key lime pie and a basque cheesecake!). They also have a drink list - a small list of wines, cocktails, beer/cider, and non-alcoholic options like coffee, soda, and juice. Service was friendly and I was given my space to enjoy my food and my time there. My order was placed at a reasonable time and I waited about 10-15 min for my food to arrive. Coffee of course arrived first. Food and drink wise, I ordered: - Breakfast sandwich ($11) - Grilled English muffin, chive soft scramble, American cheese, manchego, pickles, pickled jalapeno, aioli, hot sauce with a house breakfast sausage - Side of a summer salad ($5), which was their poached pear salad (champagne vinigrette, endive, raddichhio, red lettuce, mint, candied nuts) - Americano ($5) Americano was made well. Both of the food items I got were extremely delicious! The breakfast sandwich was perfect - that chive soft scramble with the American cheese was fluffy and soft, the pickles/pickled jalapeno cut the heaviness of the eggs/sausage, and the house breakfast sausage was substantial. All the ingredients worked so well together and it was a pretty amazing breakfast sandwich. The salad was also amazing as well - the candied nuts definitely added another dimension and contrast to the entire dish. It was a great salad and I would highly recommend everyone to get both items!! Overall, a great neighbourhood gem located about a 5 min walk north of Bathurst station. A great brunch if you want somewhere more local, casual, and chill with great food. Would come back again in the future for more brunch!
