Colombian Snacks- the decor here is interesting. As soon as you walk in there are bar style with a nice island. In that seating area there are a lot of pastry styled baked items. Looked very good for breakfast. They also have deli styled Colombian baked products in a fridge. However- being non- native to the colombian snack market. I had a very hard time knowing what to order. They did have a small menu on the counter. However I chose to just order empanada's. They were delicious. Also the accompanying hot sauce/ salsa was so spicy and tasty. Loved it. Will go back for snacks and do a bit more research so that I know what I am ordering.

A fortuitous miss of Yorkdale's entrance brought my Colombian friend and I to this place. The little bakery is a one-stop shop and a Colombian nostalgia emporium. The shop is adorned with flags and little religious figurines. In case you are still confused as to where you are, the tv will be showing a Telemundo-type soap or a soccer commentator will be screaming GOOOOOOOOOAL...GOOOOOOOOOAL! The only more stereotypical thing would be for Shakira to be playing in the background. The treats include a wide variety of breads, pastries, arepas, sausages, and empanadas. The bacon wrapped sausage tasted very gamey and chewy. The morcilla or blood sausage had a much softer filling with and an interesting spice blend that took my mind away from the fact I was eating blood. The sausages were nicely complemented by the aji, which emerged as a new contender for my favourite hot sauce. Malt beverage was incredibly rich. It tasted only slightly lighter than drinking pure molases. As my Colombian pal downed the bottle, I had to take it sip by sip. The bunuelo was possibly the highlight of the feast. The baseball sized cheese-infused dough was hot and fresh so we just could not pass up on it. Golden crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy in the inside. Also for dessert, empanada with a queso fresco and jam filling, which neither offended nor impressed.

Specialty: Colombian Baked Goods Reviewed: All Breads and Pastel de Platano con Bocadillo y Queso The taste of Colombia in Canada is this bakery's modus operandi. All treats, sweets and even savories are 100% authentic. Their assortment of breads from Pan de Queso (cheese bread), Pan de Camaron (bread in the shape of a shrimp) and Pan Aliñado (traditional Colombian bread) are Columbus' best asset in my mind. With my family, we always come here for the bread, and when we do, we consider it a treat because of two main reasons. One, we drive over all the way to Dufferin just to get the bread; and two, it means none of us are dieting at the time, so its green flag for us to indulge in the goodies. The goodness of the breads, especially as they are made the Aliñado way, comes from the use of corn flour, cassava, white fresh cheese (2 ways) and eggs. Its a very unique way in which Colombians make bread, that make the taste and texture something else. Another one of my favourites at Columbus is their Pasteles. Colombians speak of flaky pastries or deep fried pastry as "Pasteles", and pasteles is what we are known for. Columbus' Pastel de Platano con Bocadillo y Queso (plantain pastry filled with guava spread and cheese) is one ooey-gooey treat. One bite into this pastry will have you reaching for a napkin to wipe-off all the guava that has just re-melted on your hands as you continue to dig your teeth onto this sweet treat. The cheese, although it could have used a little bit more of it, joins the slumber party as you are half-way through the pastry. This is definitely one of those treats, that on a nice Saturday morning, will have you start the weekend on a right note. Buen Provecho, Foodies Inc.

Cute little bakery with lots of munchie food and some spanish products. It's a little bit pricey, but it's nice to visit once in a while.

The place was more than worth the wait, as it turns out. And it's still doing extremely well, given how busy it was and how long we had to wait for a table (almost a full half hour!) We knew going in that we had to try a few of the joint's most famous dishes, the Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, the Breakwich, and Emma's BLT. It was clearly way, way too much food but everything was so good that I had zero regrets. In particular, those pancakes are as flavorful and scrumptious as I would've hoped. The two savory sandwiches fared just as well, and it was clear that they had been assembled with a tremendous amount of care. The busy atmosphere was fun, and our server was friendly and helpful. Yep, I can see why Emma's has managed to stick around all these years.

The biscuits were just average for my taste, but the home fries were excellent. The eggs Benedict could have used a bit more hollandaise--something I'm sure they would have happily provided if I'd asked, but I didn't. The highlight of the breakfast was the special menu collaboration with Sanagan Meat Locker. The savory cornbread pancakes were outstanding--served hot with crispy edges, layered with pimento cheese, and topped with butter and honey. Paired with the blueberry sausage from Sanagan, it was an unforgettable combination. I really loved this collaboration with Emma--it was creative, comforting, and absolutely delicious.

The space is beautiful in that calm, polished way that instantly makes lunch or dinner feel a little more special. It feels elegant without being too formal, which I really liked. The food was fresh, simple, and nicely done. I had a salad that felt light but still satisfying, and everything looked clean and thoughtfully put together. It wasn't the kind of meal that completely blew me away, but it was very enjoyable and fit the atmosphere of the place really well. Sometimes that kind of simple, well-made food is exactly what you want. What stood out most to me was the overall vibe. It felt relaxed, pretty, and perfect for sitting down with a friend and taking your time. I'd call it more of a solid 4 stars than a perfect 5, but it's definitely a place I'd come back to when I want a nice meal in a beautiful setting. RH Courtyard Restaurant is a lovely pick for a catch up lunch or a slow meal with friends when you want somewhere that feels a little elevated but still easy to enjoy.

First impressions? Wow. Aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. It was empty when I arrived, but the first thing that caught my eye was the attention to detail, to the colour scheme and decor. There's a cute patio outside. Inside? Beautiful interiors and the dishes used? A perfect match. A flower wall at the back with a neon sign also adorns the place. Overall, I felt the place is warm, cozy and inviting. Staff very friendly and even gave us recommendations on what to order. We ordered a gozleme (stuffed flatbread) and a slice of trilece. My only regret? Not ordering more. We were served complimentary Turkish tea. As for the food, I loved every bite and savored the touch of love added. I especially loved the trilece which was not too sweet, but just right. Washroom was also very clean. I instantly recommended this place to a friend who lives in the area. As for me, I look forward to coming back sooner than later, perhaps for their breakfast as it is a breakfast café after all. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the menu as it feels a little crammed and a bit hard to read with so much info on just 3 pages, but otherwise, everything else was great.

I found the menamen missing a depth in taste of a well stewed tomato base, and the beef tips were dry. The accompanying bread was phenomenal tho. The server was rushed and didn't seem to hear what I was asking for. I bought some cookies to take out and they were given to me already crushed and broken up in the clamshell container. Maybe I should have said something, it's telling that I didn't (I suspected I wasn't going to be understood and if a server is willing to hand over crumbled cookies, can I expected any ROI by saying anything?? I had already paid the bill so I just got out of there. When I tasted the crumbled cookies, I found them lacking in taste as well, not just super dry.

The restaurant took over the previous space of the restaurant Grapefruit Moon. This neighbourhood gem has both indoor seating for around 25 customers and a cute outdoor patio as well to the side when the weather is nice. I stopped by Daisy May's on a Thurs morning, shortly after they opened. The place wasn't busy at all and I was actually their only customer during my time there. The menu is divided up into small plates, brunch (think breakfast sandwich, eggs benny, a tartine, steak frites, and french toast), sandwiches (like the Cubano, a double smashburger, and the chicken club to name a few), as well as sides (fries, slaw, tater tots), and dessert (they have a key lime pie and a basque cheesecake!). They also have a drink list - a small list of wines, cocktails, beer/cider, and non-alcoholic options like coffee, soda, and juice. Service was friendly and I was given my space to enjoy my food and my time there. My order was placed at a reasonable time and I waited about 10-15 min for my food to arrive. Coffee of course arrived first. Food and drink wise, I ordered: - Breakfast sandwich ($11) - Grilled English muffin, chive soft scramble, American cheese, manchego, pickles, pickled jalapeno, aioli, hot sauce with a house breakfast sausage - Side of a summer salad ($5), which was their poached pear salad (champagne vinigrette, endive, raddichhio, red lettuce, mint, candied nuts) - Americano ($5) Americano was made well. Both of the food items I got were extremely delicious! The breakfast sandwich was perfect - that chive soft scramble with the American cheese was fluffy and soft, the pickles/pickled jalapeno cut the heaviness of the eggs/sausage, and the house breakfast sausage was substantial. All the ingredients worked so well together and it was a pretty amazing breakfast sandwich. The salad was also amazing as well - the candied nuts definitely added another dimension and contrast to the entire dish. It was a great salad and I would highly recommend everyone to get both items!! Overall, a great neighbourhood gem located about a 5 min walk north of Bathurst station. A great brunch if you want somewhere more local, casual, and chill with great food. Would come back again in the future for more brunch!
