The Brazilian cheese bread with doce de leite is a revelation. I've given it to multiple people after I tried it and they've all loved it. I've tried a bunch of other things from their lattes to their sweets and everything has been delicious. Typically I've had the food delivered to my office and everything is packaged carefully. I did once run into the storefront and the staff was so kind and knowledgeable. Plus it was clear everything was being made fresh. A few tables inside and out, and I with a friendly and humble ambiance that makes it a nice place to just sit and enjoy a quick bite. I would 100% recommend this place! read more

I was very disappointed with the cheesecake. The texture was completely off -- the "cream cheese" filling was sticky, overly sugary, and not creamy at all. It lacked the richness and tang that a proper cheesecake should have. The guava filling tasted like straight guava syrup rather than a balanced fruit component, making the dessert overwhelmingly sweet with no contrast. The cake itself was also extremely thin, which made it feel cheap and poorly constructed. On top of that, the only fruit garnish was a few cranberries placed on the edges. Cranberries aren't meant to be eaten on their own like that, and they added nothing except more unpleasant sweetness and confusion to the dessert. Overall, this didn't resemble a real cheesecake in texture, balance, or quality. It felt rushed, overly sweet, and poorly thought out. I wouldn't order it again. read more

One of my favourite cafes in Toronto. I usually make my coffee at home but I always find myself at padaria for their Pingado (coffee with milk). It's made just how I like it - smooth and easy drinking, perfect over ice or hot. They also have a wide variety of baked goods both sweet and savoury and everything I've had so far has been delicious. The seating can be somewhat packed on weekends, they also have a small patio out front. I've tried a few of the coffee shops in the area and I always find myself coming back to Padaria. read more

A new Brazilian bakery. With fresh, frozen and some Brazilian groceries to take home as well. I went around the lunch hour so it definitely had customers around enjoying the food. I tried quite a few goodies. The classics like the Brazilian cheese bread, the quiche, the French bread, the flan, their cream cheese and the coffee! We ordered the passionfruit and guava smoothie to go. We tried our best to mix the drink with the paper straw, but it ripped since there was a lot of ice cubes in the drinks. Drink was unique and yummy, I'm not sure if the ice was supposed to be blended but it would have tasted better if it was and it would have made the drink colder on this hot summer day. Also ordered 2 buns, one sausage (tasty, well filled) and the other one cheese (basic option) both buns had a tough exterior. The staff are amazing, very friendly! read more

I've heard about this bakery from a few friends and coworkers, and decided to check it out after work with my sister. This authentic brazilian bakery sells both sweet and savoury snacks, from popsicles to tarts to loaves of bread. I decided to try the bomba- which was like an eclair pastry with dulce de leche (caramel-like) filling, while my sister got the chocolate brigadeiro dulce de leche and banana meringue tart. For a drink, we shared the passionfruit guava beverage. All the pastries that we bought were very sweet, and it's always best to have water or any other drink on hand. The tart was one of my favourites- I usually don't like banana, but it tasted so good with the dulce de leche. Will definitely be coming back for the savoury sandwiches! read more

An intriguing little Brazilian bakery that decided to check out while we were waiting for our take-out order to be ready across the street. We were feeling a little hungry and though Padaria bakery would be a good choice for some snacks to tie us over for 20 minutes. Pre-lockdown, they had a fairly simple system to ensure it was safe for all patrons such as no indoor tables available for dining, 4 customers inside the store at all times, a small table with hand sanitizer, and a few tables for outdoor sitting. It seems like a very popular spot in the neighbourhood which includes a few cyclists making a stop too. It's always great to see independent and novel spots like this being embraced by the community. We wanted to get one of everything but resisted to only getting the two of the more popular Brazilian staples that they offer. We got a pao de queijo, a really delightful cheese bread/biscuit, and a coxinha, a super dense and delicious croquette. We just stood off to the side of the sidewalk to enjoy these goodies and didn't need much more then that. read more

My #ThankYouThursday is special because its brazilian!!! Yaaaay! Padaria is not just a bakery, but it is THE bakery! I will write my review to the non brazilian yelpers to know what to order! Pao de queijo - its a warm and small cheese bread Coxinha - its a very soft dough filled with minced chicken, and then fried. Sonho - its a brazilian version of a dount, but even better, filled with a delicious cream. Brigadeiro - condensed milk and chocolate ball, deliiiiiicious! (Very famous in kids parties in brazil, but all the adults love it too. hahaha) Mate with lime - its a kind of black tea known in south america, they make it cold and add a little of lime juice and sugar if you want as well. Its very refreshing. Cakes - they have many different cakes, please do try as much as you can and you will never feel right by buying a supermarket cake again. Requeijao - its a brazilian cream cheese, they sell those in small containers and you can take home. Its delicious, goes very spreding it on top of Pao de queijo, or any bread you have at home! An authentic Brazilian bakery with lots of options of baked goodies and sweets. I suggest you check out their pão de queijo ($14 for a 1lb bag) made in-house. Make sure you try Brazilian cream-filled doughnuts called "sonhos." They are delicious! The only reason I rated them 4/5 stars as opposed to 5/5 is that their prices are a little too high IMHO. Quality-wise, I have no concerns. They did a fantastic job with their little bakery.
