OMG what a great time!!! We came here after having dinner at Jasmine upstairs. We were only able to book for an hour slot and that time flew by. They show you how to throw the axes and they have score boards for if you want to get a little competitive. I wish we were able to stay longer than an hour, it was addicting! The bar was also fun so that you could have a drink before or after your time slot. They also accept tips for after since they are cleaning up and teaching. Highly recommend and definitely want to join the winter league just for fun....

I understand that there are many five star reviews for this place, but my husband and I both agree that our experience tonight was far from five stars. Pros: - Although I was completely awful, the games that the "axeperts" had us play were pretty fun! - Our "axepert" (Rachel "Flash") was pretty nice. She voluntarily took pics of my husband and I so that we had pics of our experience. She was also encouraging whenever someone was struggling or seemed discouraged. Cons: - The bar staff. Oh my goodness. Within the two hours that we were there, we had three different bartenders. None of them knew a thing about drinks either! There is no drink menu so you would think that the bartenders would be pretty educated on what they have to offer. Two of the bartenders had no clue about any of the beers/ciders that were available. The second bartender served me my bottled beer without even opening the bottle. Thankfully, the person sitting next to us had a bottle opener on his keychain as the bottle could not be opened without a bottle opener. - There is an extremely LOUD and OBNOXIOUS noise opposite the bar (behind you when sitting at the bar). You can barely hear the bar music the noise is that loud. We asked the second bartender about the noise and she said that it's been present since the place opened up in August? My husband thinks that it's from cable or wiring. It was seriously the most annoying thing to listen to while we were trying to enjoy our appetizers and drinks at the bar. - Although this was a date night for us, we didn't mind that we were being paired with others to have a much more enjoyable experience. However, the fact that we were paired with a group of ten others that were all in one group already (team outing), made us feel like we were a "third" wheel. It was not fun nor a great experience for us. If you're going to pair a couple with more people to have a greater experience, pair them with other couples or other small groups. Not ten people that are already part of one group. Again, it was awkward not only for us, but for that team as well. - Also, although the reservation email states to arrive early and to make sure you're on time for your reservation, this means nothing...especially when you're paired with complete strangers who are not on time. Our reservation was for 6 PM. At about 6:10 PM, we asked the front desk staff why we were still waiting. We were advised that we had to wait for everyone in the entire group to arrive. Although we didn't ask to be paired with these other group members, we ultimately had to pay the price of waiting on them before beginning our experience. This was definitely not worth the $75 that this experience cost. IF we return, we will ensure that we have our own group to "play" with so that we can have a much more enjoyable experience.

Riley was the best! Great instructor and great games!

4.99 star because this place was hard to find. Follow maps others have provided. Easier to come down busch from the budwiser plant than 161. Because we were late we were ready to throw axes if you know what I mean. Riley was great, kind and funny, knowledgeable teacher. Overall just my husband and I with another couple and a small group. Individual and team names with axe puns was great. I was CHOPA-toulis hubby was axehole body spray. Just a fun night out, throwing axes!

Finally checked out this facility and loved it. It really gets all your stress out taking axe throwing. Alex helped us learn how to throw the axe two handed and then one handed. Once we were well trained we did close to an hour of throwing axes. It took a few tries for me until I got that bullseye picture. My husband mastered it quite easily. You really need good hand eye coordination to get it in the target area. I would totally come back again but with a group of friends since it's fun to do it with more people than just a couple doing it alone. Plus they mentioned the fee's differ with a group than with just two couples. Definitely will be back soon, as we both had fun!

Lane names. I'm a sucker for puns.. - A torn, irregularly shaped piece of paper features a list of humorous axe names, such as 'Bad Axe,' 'Kiss My Axe,' and 'Axle Factor.' The paper is held by a person's hand against a brick wall background. The list includes creative puns related to axes and woodcutting, with some entries referencing popular culture and humor.

Since live music is scarce at the moment, I decided to switch it up and do something different. I've actually been wanting to do this for some time and I'm glad I did! It was such a great experience..and I'm pretty sure I've discovered a hidden talent haha Prices were decent and the staff made it enjoyable. Definitely will be returning!

My partner and I went here for a date night after dining at Jasmine Fusion directly upstairs and it was an absolute blast! Our host Halo showed us all the techniques we needed to feel like pro axe throwers. They even watched us throw the first few to provide some pointers! We took the suggestion to keep score which really amped up the competition between the two of us! The bartender we had was an interesting guy to spark up a chat with and made us two very tasty cocktails after we were done with our session. Both of us agreed that we could have kept throwing for another hour, I highly recommend this interactive experience!

We had the best time! My friend invited us and one other couple out to this and it was so fun. Our host was fun and patient. We got to come up with individual names and then partake in various games. This was such a laugh. While they don't personally sell drinks or food, there is a concessions stand when you first walk in that does sell alcohol beverages and food. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

Ok, this was such a fun time, you guys! When my friend suggested we do this for her birthday outing, I was totally stoked! Columbus Axe Throwing is located in the Sports Center, towards the back of the Continent. Getting there was tricky one you turned off of Busch Blvd., so I was thankful I had the map they'd attached to my confirmation email. Once inside the building, you go past the concession area and customer service desk, and Axe throwing is down the hall though a door on your left. Reservations are required, and there are Groupons available to save a few bucks. Our reservation was from 6p -730p. Rex was our "axe-pert", and he was so much fun, and gave great "axe-planations" of the rules and instructions. The night went down like this: Each of us had to come up with an "axe" themed name, and write it on our name tag. I chose the name Axelina. :) We had a large group of 13. Each of us were given the opportunity to get used to throwing. This was a first time for a lot of us, and the suspense of knowing if I was good or bad was killing me! After several practice throws for everyone, we played our first game called "Timber". Played like the basketball game "Horse", it was so much fun. I actually won a trophy for scoring the highest point for my team! The 2nd game we played was called "50". The race is on to deduct as many points from your 50. The first team to get to zero wins. The 3rd game was Tic Tac Toe, and you had team X and team O, and well you get the drift. Finally it came time to determine who the Lumberlord of the evening was going to be, so then there was an elimination round, where you individually challenge or be challenged! The Lumberloard is the last man (or woman) standing! Their prize is a HUGE stamp/temporary tattoo that says, "LUMBERLORD" to wear around for bragging rights for the rest of the night. We all had so much fun and are already planning our next outing to come back! Thank you, Rex, for making it such an enjoyable evening!

An excellent adventure! This was well worth trying and I can't wait to go back again soon. My wife and I did the instructor led class where they teach you how to throw and axe. We were in a small group worth two other couples and had the place to ourselves. The emails that they send are overly exaggerated on the "get here early so you are not late". We used Waze and it took us right to the front door. From there it was a few feet from the front door to the area we needed to be. Needless to say we got there about 20 min early. We filled out a waver and headed over to the lane with the other two couples. We were taught how to throw two handed as well as one handed. We received plenty of practice and then we started up the competition rounds. The evening was exciting, heart pounding and very fun. We had a friendly battle for the title "Lumber Lord" which is won from the elimination round. I would definitely recommend trying this out, you won't regret it.

I finished winning for the team by getting 51!!

Entering the building was kind of sketchy and the floor as you enter to the right side is dingy and not visually appealing. Aside from that, we had a great time here and I think Anthony was our Axe throwing expert. He was great and everyone had a great time even though we had a huge group. I did notice the markers that we had to write our names tags with should be permanent markers, because the erase markers we used smears on the name tags. The axes we used should be sharpened because I noticed when people stuck it, we all enjoyed ourselves. That will keep us coming back! Overall, you walk in not sure if you are going to enjoy yourselves, but the service provided was exceptional. I just hope they change out the boards when needed. The Axe Kickers-

What a fun date night! We had three couples total there that night and it was nice because we got a good amount of throws. Trang/Traxedo was our instructor, or "axe-pert", and she was very patient and encouraging. I really struggled to get the axe in at first, and she was watching the rotation of the axe and telling me to scoot back. We finally found the sweet spot, and when my first one stayed in the target, the whole group cheered!

What a fun date night or group activity! We went for my brother's birthday and will definitely be back. You start with some practice rounds to get comfortable with throwing an axe. It doesn't stick as often as you'd think, so when you land one, it's awesome! The axe coaches are great and clearly enjoy their jobs. We played 3 competitive games. I liked the setup because it keeps everyone engaged - even those who couldn't get the axe to stick (aka me)! Highly recommend. It's a unique experince and a fun way to pass 2 hours. If you go, make sure you start thinking of a fun name for yourself!

Got a bullseye!

Highly recommended for everyone! My wife bought this off of Groupon. We've seen videos of celebrity in Facebook throwing axes so I was def excited. The location is snugged in the back of this plaza off of Busch Blvd but it wasn't difficult to find. We showed up late so we didn't get the full introduction part but was greeted by the instructor to sign our waiver and come up with a funny name for our name tag. He provided us a quick instruction on how to hold and stance for the throw. He also gave us a few warm ups to get the feel for it. They had many mini games competing between the two teams. Friendly competition and everyone had a great time. Mini games such as tic tac toe, first to 30, survivor. Survivor is a fun game where you're against everyone and you have 2 lives and last one to stand win. You eliminate your opponent by having more points. You get your points from where your ax land on the target. I would definitely come back and bring a lot of my friends to compete against. 5 stars from me.

First of all, I'm absolutely terrible at throwing axes. I think I've managed to get it stuck on or two times in my life even thought I've gone multiple times. The check in process here is quite easy. We filled out the waiver and then were walked to our spot. At our spot, they went through safety training and all the games. There's multiple games you can play if you're really good. We stuck with the originally one though. I kept thinking, oh gosh, this guy training us is going to be pissed cuz I'm never going to get it to stick on the board. Well, he ended the best trainer I've ever had! I actually got it to stick on the board more often than not!!!! Now I fully get the appeal of axe throwing. The nice thing about this place is that they also have food and drinks if you want. There's a full bar. I just got a stout beer which was delish. We only had about an hour so we didn't order food or anything but that also looked really good. There were some other groups in here throwing axes too. Definitely a bigger space, too, so if you have a birthday party or a large group, this would be such a fun activity to do. And again, staff is incredible and did such a good job taking care of us!

Overall, the laser tag experience was lackluster, they really let this place go. There were a bunch of kids in our group who colluded together to friendly fire on the adults so we'd be "out of their way." It felt like targeted bullying all over again. And the staff just shrugged and said that's how it is sometimes. It doesn't seem like any of them (the staff) want to be there, and did nothing to stop the kids from sprinting throughout the arena, often colliding with each other, or physically shoving us. Obviously I'd feel uncomfortable trying to manage children who aren't even mine, in a place where I don't have a job. I do not recommend attending the establishment on the weekends where they quite literally let children run amok, it was such a waste of over $100 for our small group. I would say we'd try it again on the weekdays but why bother when you could support a business that actually wants you there.

The place is bigger than it looks from the outside but it still feels pretty small since there isn't a ton of separate in the lobby portion. There is a full bar so that was definitely a plus.
