!!! DO NOT GO TO AUTO OBSESSIONS !!! I've had the…read moreunfortunate experience of using their mechanic services twice, and I promise you there will not be a third. This mechanic shop is attached to the Stevens Forrest Exxon, located just off of Rt. 29 and Broken Land Parkway in Columbia MD (not far from my home). Due to their proximity to my house, I stopped in there to service my Ford Explorer about two years ago. They replaced the serpentine belt and damaged my vehicle by forcing too much refrigerant into the system. I discovered this once I took it to another shop, and they told me that whomever worked on my serpentine belt, damaged the system. With that bad experience behind me and needing a state inspection for a different vehicle, last week (03/16/26) I figured this would be a quick in and out process. They advised that it would take approximately two hours to complete and they would contact me. After four hours, I called them for an update. They advised that my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee had failed the state inspection because of its windshield tint and faulty rear windshield wiper. I was shocked at what they said was the cause of the failure, but I literally laughed out loud when they said that the repairs would cost over $600. I kept my composure as I advised them I was headed back to their mechanic shop to retrieve my vehicle. This experience cost me $150 Since this vehicle is a work vehicle, I took it directly to a Jeep Dealership in nearby Clarksburg MD for them to perform the state inspection. They did advise that the tint would need to come off due to state inspection regulations, but they advised that my rear windshield wiper was functioning just fine. Now I am not sure what occurred for the rear windshield wiper to "fail" at their location, but function perfectly fine and "pass" the next morning at dealership. Also, Auto Obsession lists tinting as one of their services, so I would believe they could have simply offered to take the tint off my two front windows. I am still clueless on the faulty rear windshield wipe scam they attempted to run on me. In conclusion, I have had two unpleasant experiences with this location, and I would not recommend anyone utilizing their mechanic shop services. I will share pictures of both state inspection receipts to show what Auto Obsession claimed was a failure vs what the Jeep dealership performed to pass the same state inspection.

I had to take it to their shop for the work, but that's a small price to pay to get it done quickly and at a good price. They did initially install it slightly off center, which could cause damage later on... but they offered to re-install it correctly as soon as I could bring it down. During the pandemic, I purchased a classic van. It came without a stereo; the previous owner…read moreremoved it. I had a small budget for something temporary so I purchased a Pioneer unit on Amazon. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I'm finally ready to add an amp and subwoofer so I will be contacting them again soon.

I chose Baltimore Tints since it's close to my home and I thought their…read morepricing was good for ceramic tints. $380 for six windows (front & rear windshield, driver side and passenger side windows). It's $280 if you don't want the front windshield done. Speaking of which, the darkest they'll do for windshield is 45%. For no ceramic I believe it's $180 for five windows, addition $100 for the windshield which is always going to be ceramic regardless of if the rest of the car is ceramic. Not hard to find, wasn't too sure on where to park when I got there. If you knock, I don't believe anyone will answer lol so just walk right in. Okay this is not the place you'll receive the friendliest customer service. They're not mean or rude. Just not the most welcoming. But it's cool I'm here for tints not to make BFFs. I was told three hours but they actually got it done in half the time because an additional associate came in to help at the end of the day so that was great. No one wore mask and there's no waiting area so just keep that in mind. I knew I would be in and out and didn't plan on staying to wait so I was cool. Overall nice job. Tints are still "drying" which they said takes 2-3 weeks. There's a small bubble at the top of my front windshield but it's gradually gone down. They said they'd fix anything if it didn't completely go away at the end of the drying period. They also offer $20 lifetime warranty if you do anything to mess up your tints like scratch it or if your ring hits it.
