Relatively easy to get an appointment even during the busy season, The owners are remarkably honest and have saved me thousands or dollars with smart recommendations and creative solutions (even offering to let me purchase parts from alternative source and then utilize their expertise and labor). I'm a fanatic about my vehicles and they understand the quality I expect. I have never had to bring back my vehicle for the same problem after repair. I feel very fortunate to have found Columbia Roving for my out of factory RR Sport Supercharge. They do great with the basic maintenance and have found the cause of the mysterious rattles when others couldn't. For example, they were too busy during my last service needs so I went to another Rover specialist in town who I believe overcharged and couldn't find the cause of an annoying rattle and gave me back my car with very squeaky new breaks in addition to the rattle still being there. I brought my car to Columbia Roving and they very quickly found the cause of the rattle and fixed it at a fair price. I will stick to them from now on. read more

Do you want to take your car someplace reliable that will do a great job getting what you need done in a reasonable amount of time for a decent cost? Or would you rather pay someone an arm and a leg to do a bang-up job on your car that involves calling a tow truck to come save you after you get an oil change earlier that day? And then go get your breaks checked, only to find out that the last place that did your alignment only fully screwed in ONE lug nut onto your wheel. So your wheel is hanging on by ONE lug nut. If you want the first option, go somewhere else. But if you want to take your car in to get fixed, and then have another person fix that same problem again, just because you're so rich and have enough money to fix the problem twice, go to Columbia Rovers. They'll be sure to screw everything up so you can get it done again elsewhere. read more

I used to take my Land Rover to the dealership but now I go to Columbia Rovers. Brent is great! My bill is 1/4 of what I paid at Land Rover dealership. Great service, great price, and highly recommend this place to anyone who owns a Land Rover. My Land Rover is old, but it's still running and with an affordable maintainence tag thanks to Brent and his team at Columbia. Excellent Rover repair shop. First all, all the do are Rovers. So they know them well. Took my D2 there a few time and have taken my LR3 there many times for service and some repairs. All good. They talk me out of doing more work all the time. T hey have a "doesn't seem that bad - let's see how it goes" approach for some things that has worked really well for. And they actually drive your truck to see how it's doing. I have the stupid "California stop" issue with my LR3. After looking, testing, and drive they determined it's pretty doing what LR3s do - nothing to be fixed. It's takes a Rover person to know this. Even the dealership wanted to keep trying to fix it when I first got the truck. These guys seem passionate about Rovers, are happy to chat about Rovers and what they like. And they do great work. This is my go-to place for Rover repairs. When reading some of the other reviews keep in mind that this place changed owners in 2013 or so. Some of the comments are not about the current owner. I have taken my Landrovers to Columbia Rovers for years. However, when ownership changed a couple of years ago, the service went downhill and they wouldn't exchange used tire rims I bought there for the correct size for my vehicle. Unless the previous owners take this service center back, you would be wise to take your rover somewhere else! read more

I brought my 2005 Land Rover in for front end suspension problems including a noticeable pop when you hit a pot hole. The shop told me I needed upper and lower control arms assemblies ($1600) and nothing else. I picked up the truck and paid and noticed the same popping that you could even feel in the steering column. I went back and drove the vehicle on gravelly roads with the owner and it was rattling like an old army jeep. The owner insisted this was normal and refused to properly diagnose and/or fix the problem. Take your business anywhere else as I don't think they know what they're doing. read more

I don't know if Columbia Rovers used to provide good service but my experience with them has been horrible. Check the business registry, it shows new ownership in July of 2011. The mechanics are incompetent and the management doesn't care enough to fix the problem. Improper work lead to a cracked engine block and Columbia Rovers refused to take any responsibility. Don't risk taking your LR to Columbia. read more

I have been using Columbia rovers as alternative to the dealership for about 1 year now. I used to rave about the shop to my friends that this was a great place to get your car taken care of. Unfortunately my last two experiences at the shop will keep me from ever coming back. I had taken my car in for service and they had recommended replacing a lower arm for my 2005 lr3. When I go to drive the car home that day I find that it is nearly undriveable because they didn't do an alignment. I go back again to get the alignment done and yet again they mess up on the alignment. A week later and 4 more trips from hillsboro they finally get it right. After all of this they still act like nothing has gone wrong. Following this time at the shop I go to help give my friend a jump whose car had died at work. To my embarrassment my hood wouldn't open and looking down at the handle we see the cable had been stretched out fully and broken, no doubt a result of the last time they worked on the car. Not only does my hood not open but they say it will require major work to get it fixed. I rely on this shop solely for my car and have been dissapointed each time. If I was this incompetent at my job in the industry I work in I would be out on the street without a job. Needless to say they have lost me as a customer permanently. read more

I really liked this place as it was within walking distance to my condo and has very comparable prices for rovers. I've taken my Range here many times; however, my last experience has caused me to never want to return. I went in for an $80 oil change and tire rotation and left with my oil leaking and a front wheel about to fall off. They failed to put the bottom oil cap on and on my way to Beaverton I leaked oil and ended up having to have my rover towed at 10pm. They didn't apologize for their error and acted like it was no big deal...kinda awkward. Then, about two months later and about 1500 miles after my oil change, I notice my front wheel lug nuts look loose. I take it in to a different shop (green dog rovers - highly recommended) for new brakes and they show me how my wheel only has one tight lug nut and my wheel was about to fall off. Like WTF Columbia Rovers? Was this bad service because I'm not a 40 year old soccer mom who comes to you for every little issue or a 55 year old executive with a never ending supply of Ranges? Needless to say, I've found a new shop that doesn't skip out on the little (or big) details. read more
