John and Wilma are lovely and provided impeccable hospitality. We stayed in the Neil Gunn room and it is huge. The bathroom is a treat, too, with its wonderful shower and towel heating rack. Both the room and the bathroom were impeccably clean. Moyness House is a short walk to downtown but is far enough away that we didn't get the noise. In fact, we walked around much of Inverness and found lots of cute B&Bs. However, all of them were on busy, noisy streets and few had good parking. We picked the Moyness House based on the reviews of other travelers and felt immensely fortunate that we did not end up at any of the other places. We appreciate a good night's rest and definitely got it here. Finally, breakfast here is truly satisfying. We had a Scottish breakfast each morning and were amazed at the freshness of the eggs. If you leave the table hungry, it will be your own fault. Thank you, John and Wilma, for a lovely stay and for making our Highland experience so enjoyable.

Pulling in you are greeted by a castle-esque hotel. It is stunning. Plenty of parking out front and back. The inside is elegant and spacious. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful. Huge bathrooms, plenty of room for storage, a work desk, kettle with tea and coffee, seating and tables, and of course the most comfortable bed. We ordered room service one night and they were very fast and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the leisure room which is equipped with a heated pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and gym. Bathrooms are inside the pool area with lockers available for 1 euro. My only complaint about the entire stay was I wish the hot tub was hotter! It was more like a warm tub with jets, but it still felt amazing. We felt like Scottish royalty staying here, and if/when we return to Inverness, we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you so much for a memorable stay!

The only challenge was that most of the power outlets were the pre-WWII variety! I got what seemed like an unusually good rate for my stay, but looking at the typical on-season rates, it's a bit expensive for what it is. The location is outside the center, so it's a good 15 to 20 minute walk with a hill, though the large parking would also make this more convenient if visiting with a car.

Sorry Dalmunzie but not a great review.... What was not right…read more.. 1) The water was tea colored. My wife was dying to take a nice hot bath and we specifically asked for a room with a deep tub. Supposedly the rain caused the water supply to affect the water purity/color. 2) The hinges on the door to the bathroom was in desperate need of oil. The sound was very loud when opening and closing, especially in the middle of the night. 3) We found remnants of personal items left in the bathroom. YUK! 4) The shower water pressure, in the tea water, was so slow, it was almost impossible to use. Took 15 minutes to take a shower. So, all that said, at the price we paid, we were expecting something special. Not even close. We spent 3 weeks touring Scotland and this was the most expensive room. Eleven hotel rooms in 3 weeks and this was clearly the bottom.

We found a small table and ordered olives and bread to start, then salmon (for me) and fish pie for my wife. Salmon was excellent with shrimp and a potato salad, together with a little salsa for additional flavor. The fish pie was also good though my wife thought perhaps a little heavy on the sauce ( but plenty of fishy bits to choose from). Looked and tasted good, however. Dessert was a rich chocolate cake washed down with a good cappuccino. A glass of Talisker and one of Amaretto to finish off a commendable meal. Good restaurant - we recommend!
