My nail technician is amazing; however, the location has several disadvantages. First, although appointments are required--as clearly stated on the store's front window--you still end up waiting 20 to 30 minutes to be seen. Customers without appointments are being serviced, which causes those with scheduled appointments to wait an extended period. I had a 2:00 PM appointment and wasn't seen until 2:30 PM. This has happened on three separate occasions, and it is simply not good business practice. Second, when you book with a specific nail technician, you may be asked to switch to another technician because your original technician is running behind--usually from taking a walk-in. If you choose to wait, you could be delayed by 45 minutes to an hour, despite having a scheduled appointment. Third, the location is understaffed due to the opening of a new location in Harrison. Half of the staff was moved there, which leaves the remaining technicians rushed and scrambling to keep up with demand. Fourth, the pedicures at this location are subpar. The technicians rush through the process and barely scrub your feet properly. The service feels incomplete and hurried. Fifth, the location is extremely overpriced for the quality of service provided. Be sure to read other customer reviews--the location currently has only a 3-star rating, which speaks volumes. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place. I should have listened when my facial technician mentioned she had to find a new spot because the service here was poor and the staff seemed more focused on tips and profit than actual customer care. I need a new nail salon. I have been going here for years and always give them the benefit of the doubt when I go and feel rushed. This time I'm so over them. I went for a mani pedi. Before my pedicure I asked for a 10 minute massage and she said okay. When it came time she "forgot" so I reminded her and she looked like she didn't want to. She then started and 2 mins in stopped and said "oh it's busy so I can't give you a massage". I was so upset. I came expecting a service and got denied. Mind you, it wasn't busy. They accepted 3 walk ins that didn't have appointments and I did....when it came to my gel manicure she rushed too. I asked her to also color match my toes to my fingers and when she originally showed me to colors they did. After seeing them all done, my nails were soo much lighter than my toes. Let me start off by saying, If you are a white rich lady or appear to be - Connies will be ALLL OVER YOU! They will treat you like a queen! Let me start off by saying, if you want "Instagram nails" don't come here. They appear to do good work on their Instagram but that's to the clients they actually like. All clients are not created equally here. I came here for a manicure once, and tipped my guy 10 dollars, thought that was generous enough since I wasnt getting my feet done. He looked at the tip and circled on the bottom of the reciept 22%. On the bottom of the recipet it says 20% 22% and 25% and the corresponding amounts based on your bill. I tipped 20% but he wanted more. Other than that... the service is just not great. The girls are very pushy with designs that they aren't even able to do properly. I came here for the first time by my sister's recommendation. My sister is a regular of this nail salon and is always serviced by Kiki (unsure of the spelling). I scheduled an appointment over the phone the day before but you can also book an appointment via the Yelp! App. They're very nice and will patiently answer any question you might have about pricing, hours, covid measures and etc. There is a parking lot a few stores down which is where I parked. Super convenient although there were not that many spots available at the time I arrived which was a little before 12:30 pm on a Thursday. If there are no spots available in the lot, there is street parking available. So as of 7/23/20 the date of my first visit: There's a sign posted on the door which tells you to wait outside, someone will open the door for you. Connie herself came out to greet me, and she was super hospitable and noticed that I was a new customer which is a good sign that she pays attention to her clientele. Due to coronavirus, they are taking extra precaution so she'll take your temperature and ask you to read and sign off on a sheet of paper asking you if you've had any related symptoms, come into contact with anyone whose been ill or showing signs of illness, and if you've traveled recently. Once you sign and write down your phone number, you'll be allowed inside. They also give you a face shield for extra protection which of course you get to keep. All of the nail stations have a plexiglass divider between the tech and customer. The pedicure chairs have tall dividers as well between every chair to protect customers sitting next to each other. All the station's seats are covered in a new sheet of tissue paper or plastic wrap. They also use new tools for each customer. This salon is taking the pandemic seriously and I was impressed. I have so much respect for that kind of attention to detail and concern for their staff and customers. I was initially going to rate this place with only 4 stars but with the measures they're taking during this pandemic, their efforts are above and beyond everywhere else I've seen so they've earned the full 5 stars in my eyes. I applaud and thank Connie and her team for providing a sanitary, and worry free experience during these times. Since I told Connie who my sister was, she gave me the same nail tech which was nice since it was my first time there and my sister's nails always look great when I see her so I knew I'd be in good hands. My sister told me that Kiki pays attention to detail and double checks her work. Kiki was super sweet and nice to me, she helped me choose a color and then went to work straight away. I haven't gotten my nails done since the end of last year and so my cuticles were in pretty bad shape. I was nipped on two fingers but didn't notice until she sprayed alcohol on my hands towards the very end which is when I felt the sting. It wasn't a huge deal to me because I didn't initially feel it and hours later as I write this review, it isn't bothering me. Kiki did a wonderful job painting my nails, even the edges which I can get so particular about, are perfect. If you're also new to this salon I'd recommend requesting her as your nail tech. She's very gentle and approachable. I was in and out of there after 45 minutes. I received a regular gel manicure and had my eyebrows waxed. There was a manicure station wedged into the wax room which was awkward as we interrupted the nail tech and customer there. But Kiki cleaned up my brows and gave me a nice natural shape which I love. She'll double check and ask you if you're okay with the temperature of the wax and also ask if you like the wax when it's all done. With regard to their waxing services, I was told over the phone that only eyebrow waxes are being done, no lip. I'm assuming nothing else below your eyes is available for waxing right now. My first visit was a huge success and if I lived in the area, I would become a fast regular. Their prices are competitive and on the higher side. I'm originally from Brooklyn so these prices are more on par with Manhattan nail salons that I've experienced. For example, a new UV gel set for short nails start at $80 here while my salon in Brooklyn starts at $71. So the price difference is about $9-10 more expensive for their services. But considering the neighborhood they're servicing, I find it pretty fair across the board. I checked in on the yelp app and there was a 15% discount for new customers only which they honored. My bill was $47 (gel mani+eyebrow wax) and after they applied the yelp discount, it became a flat $40. By the way, they also give you a punch card. After 10 visits to the salon you earn a free manicure. I had a pleasant experience and plan on returning the next time I visit the area. Absolutely would recommend trying them out! Their massage chairs looked SUPER comfortable and had I been wearing sandals instead of vans, I would've asked to also get a pedicure haha! read more

My sister in law and I came here to get our nails done for a family gathering the following day. I only came here because it is only five minutes away from the hotel at which she was staying. There's a small parking lot near the salon as well as a few on-street parking spots in front of the establishment. I was happy to see that upon walking in, we would not be waiting long because there were plenty of chairs available. We both opted for gel manicures and regular pedicures. They gave sample gel colours that indicate whether or not they offer the perfect match for the toe colour. The sample colours were a bit unorganized. They consisted of artificial nails with the colours applied, just as with any other nail salon colour sample but they were all on pinwheels and thrown in a box. I prefer the books of nail samples so that you know exactly what you're choosing. This salon is very nice and clean. Everything looks well-maintained. They have liners for the pedicure baths but the liners do not completely shield you of the contents a of the footbath so, they still require cleaning between patrons. My nail tech was OK. I've had much better foot massages and detail to nail bed maintenance/cuticle removal performed at my regular nail salon haunt. This particular salon does the bare minimum on your feet and hands. My toe nail polish was definitely not polished. My toe colour looked like I applied it myself at home and my cuticles were not properly cleaned nor trimmed. My gel manicure turned out looking much better. I will have to wait a week before really being able to review it's upkeep as it may take a few days for any issues to arise. A gel manicure will definitely last 2 weeks on me. If it starts to degrade anytime before that, the salon either uses cheap gel materials or the application was half-assed (an update on this info soon to follow). UPDATE: The gel manicure did not last even a week. It started to chip after a few days so the lower price for the service is not worth it when the end result doesn't even last half the time. Again, the arm massage was meh and we didn't even receive back and shoulder massages. This lack of attention to detail makes me appreciate my neighborhood salon much more and reminds me why I take time out to drive there rather than go to some cheaper place that is closer. Colour Connie was a bit nicer than my regular salon and even $5 cheaper for a regular pedi and gel mani, at $60 but I'll gladly pay the extra five bucks for the attention that is given to my feet and hands, ensuring that I leave with my nails looking immaculate and my colour job lasting the duration. I would never come back here again. It's fine for a rush job, I guess. read more

If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. I've been going to this nail salon for a long time now, and today I finally decided to part ways. First off, they try to scam you by creating charges for no reason. $5 charge to change your nail shape, $10 extra for a callous remover, ect and meanwhile if you deny the callous remover, they rush your entire pedicure that is already $28. One time, one of the employees was looking into my wallet to see what kind of cash I had to give them a tip. There have been many instances where I booked the first available appointment at 9:45am, however the salon was never even open at this time. By 10:15 the staff was rolling up in a white van to then rush you because they were running late. I can go on and on about this place, yet I always gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, after getting my appointment cancelled today that I made in advance due to traveling for the holiday season, I received a notice my appointment was canceled and that it wasn't with my usual nail tech Ruby. I then called the salon right away and asked the owner Connie why my appointment wasn't with Ruby anymore. Connie began to say that Ruby did not want to do my nails anymore because I had moved around/canceled my appointments. I could not believe the way a business owner was speaking to a loyal customer. Let alone my nail tech who I have been going to for a long time, would cancel my appointment and tell Connie they did not want to do my nails anymore because of moving around an appointment do to traveling. In addition, Ruby is beyond rude - there have been many times she made snarky comments towards me. Color selection is the most I've seen anywhere. I have never experienced pushy techs about tipping. They ALL accept whatever tip you give. I came in for a pedicure and gel nails. Two people were doing my nails. The person doing my manicure filed my nails too deep and didn't apply enough polish. My nails are flimsy and close to snapping. The woman doing my toenails cut and filed my nails in under one minute, and didn't look at my toenails when cutting my cuticles. I was nicked a few times; I asked her to step away. Was excited to try Colour Connie Nail Salon. I was talked into a new uv gel set which was $95.00. Snice I have had some type of permanent French up gel and or powder gel for the last 20+ years I was surprised when I endured serious heat to my nails, yes always a bit hot but this was downright painful. later in the evening my nails actually hurt. Well they looked ok so I hoped I would feel ok by morning. However when I woke up I found 3 finger inflamed at the nail bed and around my finger tips. I called the salon and was advised to come in, which I did.... The shop manager wanted the woman who had put the set on try to fix the situation. I was told that she would file those nails to make them thinner, that was what she said was the issue. There was no way I was going to have any more filing or heat on my nails. The manager was nasty and not at all willing to compensate me in any way. I may have to visit my Dr. As I'm concerned about the way my nails look and feel. I laid almost $125.00 and have come way with an non professional somewhat painful set of nails.
