This was my second time getting my toes done at Colorful Nails, and honestly, both times I left super disappointed. I always get a French tip, and every other salon I've been to gets it right, except this one. My big toes looked completely different from each other... one tip was super thick, the other was thin. I told the nail tech I didn't like it, and she didn't even try to fix it. I also asked for a nude base, and instead, she kept bringing me pinks. I had to keep restating that I wanted a NUDE color. It felt like she wasn't listening to me at all. While the cleaning was good, the actual polish job was just bad. The French line is horrendous and crooked and uneven. I even said I didn't like it before I left, but still got charged full price. This was supposed to be for my trip to Mexico, and I just hate how they turned out. I'm not a fan and definitely won't be returning. read more

I went here every other week for a year and a half with a friend of mine. my most recent nail tech I've been seeing for almost 1 year. 90% of the time her nail work was good. When I made a complaint, which was rare because I don't like complaining or upsetting people, she often blamed me for the problem and got overtly frustrated with me because she would have to made adjustments. This was a turn off, but regardless, I always thanked and tipped her for her work. I continued seeing her because I rarely complained so I didn't often see this side of her. Three weeks ago, I went to get my nails done as I always do. I arrived on time and ready for my manicure. My nail tech had to do a refill because my nails were cracked and in bad shape. She did not hide her annoyance at having to do a refill. She blamed me, telling me that if I didn't miss our appointment two weeks ago she wouldn't have to do a refill now, even though she herself had been saying for weeks prior that she needed to do a refill and week after week did not do the refill. Now she was finally doing the refill and was pissed about it. Then she began tearing my nails off without soaking them. She had done this in the past, but she was particularly ruthless with my nails today. At one point, she literally took pliers and tried to ply them off. It was of course incredibly painful, and I cried out in pain. My friend tried to intervene and told the nail tech that she was hurting me and asked her to soak my nails first, but the nail tech said she didn't have time and continued to tear them off without regard for my wellbeing. After she tore my nails off, she opted to refill them with a different, more expensive type of acrylic nail that apparently would be easier for her to tear off in the future. She did this without asking me if it was okay, and she even put a few on me before telling me that they were different and more expensive. As she was doing my nails, she told me that she would lower the price because of the pain I experienced before. I did not ask her to do this, but I thought this was a nice gesture and thanked her. But then she said that she was "mad" at having to lower the price because I "should be paying [her] more" for her work because these new acrylics were more expensive. Now she seemed to be blaming me for her decision to lower the price, something I did not ask her to do, even though she was to blame for the immense pain she caused me when she ripped off my nails. My appointment was supposed to be 45 minutes but she got me out there in less than 30 minutes. When she was done with me, I saw her run over to another client and start on her nails immediately. This tells me that she or the salon overbooked. Now I understood why she was working fast on my nails. Meanwhile, my friend, who did not have a full refill, was still having her nails worked on and was amazed at how my nail tech did a full refill and gel manicure in under 30 minutes. And in 4 days, every single acrylic nail fell off. And when I say "fell off", I truly mean that it took next to nothing for them to fall off. The came off so easily that some I found lying somewhere not even realizing that they had fallen off. I was pretty upset by this experience, so I texted the owner and asked to schedule a phone conversation to discuss concerns I had. I put my friend on this text chain as a witness that I did indeed send a text. After a week, I heard nothing back from the owner. This didn't phase me so much as I understand that she is a busy person who owns two salons and frequently works. However, my friend, who is well acquainted with the salon owner, called the owner on my behalf to tell her a bit about what happened. The owner said she didn't receive a text. She also suggested to my friend that this is not the first time she heard of something like this happening with my nail tech. She also told my friend that she would call me and "make this right." It's been two weeks and the owner has yet to call me. Neither my friend nor I plan to go back there. What's particularly upsetting about this experience is that I was a loyal customer: I went in every two weeks to get my nails done for a year and a half; I rarely complained; and I was always very patient and understanding with the nail techs there. My friend even helped the owner a bit in setting up her second salon location, and we even had planned to go to brunch with the owner at some point. And my friend and I even went to the new salon location, which is a bit further away, to support the owner when it opened. Despite all this, the owner does not seem interested in retaining loyal customers. I am not happy with my nail tech for how she treated me, but it's the owner's responsibility to at least hear me out, talk with the nail tech to get her side of the story, and then decide how to move forward with my claims. The salon gets 0 stars for how both the owner and tech treated me. read more

I would never go back to them after the way they made me feel . Always talking about me like I didn't notice making me feel uncomfortable I wouldn't tip them good because of so ... and then they deliberately overcharge me this is the worst place I have ever went to in my life. I would never go back to them. Such a disgrace the way they treat their customers. Generally people tip based upon the service and how professional you are regardless no matter how much a tip is a tip is a tip definitely not a professional setting. read more

I usually come here every 2-3 weeks to either see Ranny or Ally. I go to school down the street at Salem state and I was looking for a new nail salon to faithfully go to that was close to campus. THIS place is the best! I usually get a full set with gel & a gel pedi and they always come out AMAZING! Not too thick, just perfect. I wear sneakers to work as a server and my toes always look perfect. They never chip. I love this place because the quality is good. I end up spending a good 60$ but it's BEYOND worth it. Ranny should not be allowed to do what she does, i dont care how fast you are at doing nails, you cant just throw chrome on shit nails and think its all sweet. cutitcle area is all messed up, every nail is a different shape/length, shes constantly cutting/hurting people, and she never lets you get long nails.. "like if you cant do long nails just say so. and Aly doesn't care.. she'll drop a costumer before dropping one of the worst nail technician all cause shes "fast" at what she does. and poor esmeraslda, every time i go in, the poor girl looks run down or is constantly being bossed around the shop. aly doesnt leave room for people to grow. she only cares about herself and how to elevate her life ONLY. read more

I have been searching for a new nail technician since my previous one moved out of state months ago, and I am happy to say that I have found her. Aly is amazing! She listened to my request on how I like my acrylic nails shaped. The edges were free of excessive buildup of filler material. My nails looked natural and not bulky. Plus, she was fun to talk to. The salon was clean and organized. The services are reasonably priced. They have an ATM on site. The receptionist is friendly and helpful. Easy online booking that tells you which technicians do specific services. That way you can choose the right person for you. My experience, from booking online to Aly doing a fantastic job on my nails to scheduling my next appointment, was incredible. I look forward to continuing to see Aly for my fills and to see what new designs she can come up with. read more

Oh my goodness FINALLY !!!! I've been searching my entire life for a good pedicure that's not cheap ! This is the place. Best pedicure honestly I've ever received (I've had a lot) the massage was unbelievable ! Hot stone treatment and a massage after ! She massaged me for like 15 minutes it was amazing. I went to Colorful nails on several suggestions after getting a hack Job of manicure elsewhere. I will never go to another salon. The price you pay for your nail art is worth it. Every 3 weeks I am there to see Rose. I love her. The color selection and extensive artistic ability all of the women who work there have is beyond any place I've ever been. Solid manicure from one woman, another woman who gave me a pedicure seemed like she was new, pretended to know what she was doing after she made me bleed, and within 24 hours both my big toes are infected from what she did. So after going back to my normal salon and getting my nails fixed, I called colorful nails and asked to talk to the manager, and explained what had happened, and how unhappy I was and asked for a refund because of how unhappy I was with the services provided, I explained to her that I would NOT be returning and she just kept telling me that she could or would not refund me because "nails break all the time" and I should have said something when I was sitting there getting them done when I did a few times about the shape, or having my two hands match..She just kept trying to get me to come back in. After like 10+ minutes of being on the phone and telling her that I will NOT be returning for any services and that I was clearly NOT getting a refund she was very short and the phone call ended. I don't well suggest going here if you are going to get anything other then acrylics, because like i stated originally I've seen what they can do with acrylics and they are nice....but not dip powder. read more

I literally had the worst experience here.... not only did I spend the most I ever did on getting a full set but they came out terrible! First of all I came here because I was looking for a specific nail design and had people recommend this place to me. So I gave it a shot. They were so rude to me... my pedicure was rushed and my feet were still crusty afterward. After I got a full set. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails.. I wanted gold foil near the cuticles and showed her exactly how it looked. She slumped out on the gold foil and She might as well not have put it on... on top of that I moved (didn't even realize I did) and my nail technician freaked out at me. Slammed her hands on the table too. You can tell through the whole experience she was very bothered by my presence. Not to mention not even a week later one of my nails fell off. I'm really disappointed with this place.. especially since it has good reviews and was spoken highly of. I guess they only care about their returning customers and not new ones. read more

I sat there for almost 30 minutes. I tried to walk out the door and ranny stopped me and said she could take me finally. So i give her the opportunity to do my nails. Come to find out, i was waiting because all the people in the salon were the owners family members but they didn't have appointments. What type of foolery is that? Horrible service.. had one lady doing my nails that said she could do a specific design I wanted, color coordinated my nails for that design. After she got done with the acrylic her family member came in and she left me to do her nails. I had to wait 10 minutes and then a different lady proceeded to paint my nails. I had to reexplain everything I wanted. After she put the color on, she told me she can't do that design. She did her own design which made my nails look tacky and and Christmasy! It was the opposite of what I wanted. I will never come back. I was a first time customer because I heard good things about this place but I'll go back to my original place.
