Never ever have I gone to a gym where the staff and clients are so friendly. It's small and you pretty much see the same people over and over, so there is a neighborhood vibe. Yes, people leave duffle bags on the floor but they're quick to move them if you ask nicely, so who cares. There are five free squat racks, so you never have to wait for one. While the space is small, their variety of weight lifting equipment is great. I've never really had to wait on any equipment, even during 5 o'clock rush hour. Yes, the equipment is dated but they keep everything clean and in working order. The bathrooms are always clean. I truly can't think of anything I would change. Except that the dumbbells are so old that you can no longer see the weight labels on them, which forces me to do math in my head, i.e. adding up the plates plus 5 lbs. for the handle. It's purely a weight lifting gym, with a few cardio machines. If you're looking for a sauna or massage chair, you're in the wrong place. If you're bothered by big dudes slamming barbells on the floor, you're in the wrong place. If you're bothered by patriotic flags honoring our military, you're in the wrong place. If you're bothered by motivational flags using the F word you're in the wrong place. If you're a germaphobe who brings a pristine white towel to the gym you're in the wrong place. Down to business gym with members of all kinds. The trainers here are some of the most friendly individuals I've ever met. I was able to complete powerlifting programming without anyone batting an eye. It's a no rules but respect kind of a gym. Endless machines and attachments and weights to keep things interesting. No resistance bands but understandable since those tend to get destroyed after constant use. Good diverse array of barbells and plates/weights to suit your needs. First off I'll start with the good, this gym is pretty decent, yeah it's old ,but it gets the job done! I've been going here for about 4 months now since I have moved here, I like how this gym is pretty laid-back and chill, the trainers/staff are friendly. I like how they have a variety of strength equipment and a few cardio machines. I'm into powerlifting and training here is not "too bad". Here are some issues that I have encountered so far, a few men have complained about me deadlifting. The guy at the front desk approached me about the complaint said he didn't mind at all and he doesn't have a problem with me doing it but that it was his job to tell me about the complaint, which took me by surprise that these two older men complained, if it bothers you so much put some headphones on! What do you expect?it's a gym and I'm here to workout and lift some heavy weights! I've witnessed other guys bigger than me and lift more weight and they slam it down and harder than I do, so just be aware that some men will complain about you lifting some heavy weights! Another annoying thing is a lot of guys will put their bags/phone/water bottle/hoodies on this specific machine as if it's a locker of some sort, the nice rogue hyper reverse machine, as if it's not there for people to use? I've had to use it while it had other people's sh** on it or if they're nearby I will ask them nicely to move it. I just thought that was funny to add in lol. The hours are limited, which sucks, it would be nice if it was 24hrs or had longer hours. BEWARE: No one ever wipes down equipment after they're done using it. MOST people don't wear their masks or they have one on but have it under their chin or don't wear it correctly at all!! If you are into strength training, bodybuilding, weightlifting and martial arts, or looking for all-around fitness that is not based around aerobics classes, then this is the best gym in the Denver metro area. One of the best gyms I have trained in anywhere. Fantastic equipment, great layout, clean and a mix of old-school and new-school. The equipment here is not the standard stuff you get at the gym chains. This is hand-picked equipment for the serious athlete. Much of the equipment is unique and one-of-a-kind. All high quality and well thought out. I feel like I am more in an intercollegiate or professional team strength and conditioning center than I am in a commercial gym. I know the difference as I was an athlete and coach for many years, and still am. The owner is an exercise physiologist and strength athlete, and it shows in the gym he has created. You can readily implement all the modern training regimes in this gym, and easily too. The culture and atmosphere supports this as well. A big part of a good gym is the atmosphere. With the big-box gyms you feel like you are in there with the "general public", and you are. At Colorado's Pro Gym, you are in an environment with people who are serious about their training and health, including the gym owner. There are competitive athletes, bodybuilders, strength athletes, and many folks who are simply training with intent. This makes the atmosphere very conducive and motivating for getting good workouts and being with like-minded people. The personal trainers appears very good and the gym has a neighborhood feel. They put on excellent group training classes where the members are doing very high-quality circuit training. They have martial arts and classes for the kids too. If you want a gym for the person who is into and serious about their health, fitness and strength pursuits, then this is a unique environment that you will find in few other gyms. I called to get prices on membership, because this place is in walking distance of my home, however when I called the guy who answered the phone said they won't give prices over the phone. If I wanted prices I had to come in get a free 7 day pass and only after I used the 7 day pass would they give me a price. Sounds like rip off to me. read more

The owner of this place is a crook. My husband and our friend were both told that this was a month to month membership and they could cancel anytime. However, when he no longer wanted to continue using this gym, his credit report was hit with over $600 for a membership that he didn't know he had. Matt, the owner, was extremely difficult to deal with regarding this issue and just keep giving us the run around. His initial response to our inquiry about why we had a contract when we were told we had a month to month membership was "it's your fault for not reading what you signed". Well, yes and no. When you are signing a document that you are told is a "month to month, cancel anytime" authorization to debit your account, you tend to believe that the "professional" telling you this is being honest. Your first thought isn't usually that the owner of the gym is trying to trick you. I made several attempts to obtain a copy of our "contract", but it was never provided. I was told that we should have a copy. I agreed, but told him that it was misplaced and I would like a copy of what he has on file. He (Matt) said he doesn't have access to them. ??? After doing some research, I found out that we were not the only ones having this experience with the Pro Gym. Beware!!!! read more

The gym itself is ideal if you're looking for a great place to work hard but want to avoid all the other non-sense that other gyms package around the workout experience (fruit juice bars, spas, snake-oil). This place is for people that want to hit it hard and get out. No fluff. I had the opportunity to meet a few of the trainers casually between sets. Those I met were approachable and credible. If I was in need of personal training I would have felt in good hands with them. The reason Colorado's Pro Gym earned three stars instead of 5 is due to what others have mentioned: their contract entrapment and customer service in general. My wife and I, due to her condition, were unable to continue working out there about mid-way through our contract. Although we asked, we were unable to escape the contract prior to the term's end. That's understandable. A contract is, after all, a contract. However, in two separate conversations with staff, I was given the impression that the contract would not continue after the term of the contract ended; that they took care of it. It was one of those "Oh, no problem. Don't even worry about it." deals. Three months after the term had expired my wife noticed we were still being charged. It turns out the whole "no problem, don't worry about it' was in fact a "If we don't have it in writing, than it never was...". Then, after sending my termination in writing and receiving a date when payments should cease, I continued to be charged. I called three times trying to sort the issue out before needing to take time out of my workday to drive up there and speak to the owner in person. Nothing about that experience changed my mind about the poor level of customer service and the nature of how they conduct business. I have been going to this gym for about two years. Even though I drive past other gyms to go here it is well worth it. The pace is basically attitude free and has tons of equipment. As another reviewer said, the trainers are very friendly and are always willing to say hello and help out a non-customer. The owner has an office in the gym and everything is kept clean and in good repair. This gym has all sorts of customer from high school kids just starting out to competitive bodybuilders and powerlifters. If you come in more than twice everyone knows your name or nods hello. This gym is a hidden gem. It's tucked away in a smaller strip mall near my home, and I honestly didn't realize it was there until a neighbor mentioned he trained there. I stopped in and was greeted at the front desk and without any hassle, I was offered a free one week membership to try it out. Awesome! Ladies locker room is clean and has everything you need including hair dryers and styling tools. Gym itself is clean. Older equipment, but lots, and what you should expect from an old school style gym. Great cardio equipment, too. Leg room is bananas! Members and staff are also very welcoming and friendly. I like the size of the gym, too; not too big, not too small. Parking is also good even though strip can get a little busy. Monthly membership fee reasonable. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is there's no AC. read more

I have been working out at this gym for almost 6 years. I travel a lot for work so I have plenty of places to compare it to. I keep my membership here because it is always clean, the staff and trainers are nice to everyone, (not just the people they train and make money from like other gyms), and it has enough equipment that I can always get on the machine I want. I would've never gone there on my own but my trainer works out of there. I went there to get back into shape after a "series of unfortunate events." I like that it's small and intimate. People are friendly and encouraging. It's close enough for me to ride my bike there. I also have a 24-hour fitness membership and it's a whole different world. People at CPG are serious about their workouts and fitness. My only complaint is that it isn't very clean. I've gotten used to it. read more

Once you sign up, you can never get out of your membership. 6 months after I cancelled, they FINALLY agreed to quit charging me, but will not reimburse me for the months they owe me after I cancelled. Very unprofessional gym and they will entrap you in a contract. I was interested in this gym back in December and decided to join. I was told when I was filling out the paper work it would be a month to month membership and I could cancel at any time. I went a grand total of four times. The gym is small and stuffy. I noticed my card was being charged monthly which I wasn't happy about. I called today to get the situation fixed and made right. Mary answered the phone and after some searching found my membership. Supposedly I signed up for a one year contract which I would never do since I travel for work. When I told her that was not what I signed she became very unprofessional raising her voice at me and told me the only way for her to cancel my membership would be $150 or a letter from my employer stating that I travel for work. When I proceed to get angry about the situation she interrupted me and told me "whatever" and then proceeded to put me down saying I didn't read what I signed. Needless to say I will never recommend this gym to anyone and will tell everyone my awful experience. read more

Awesome place. Not only are the staff ( I mostly deal with Matt and Robyn) just great people but the whole atmosphere of the gym was exactly what I was looking for. People know what they are doing, and do it well. You can ask for advice from experienced lifters -some of whom are literally world class- and they'll give it willingly. The gym has everything you could want- chains, stones, bumper plates, chalk, 4 squat racks, lots of plates at every station, a prowler,logs, tires for flipping, sandbags...Anything a strength athlete would want really. I came to the gym three years ago and consider it one of the best decisions I've ever made. I made so much more progress there than I ever would have made at a place like 24 hour fitness. If you want a juice bar and a whirlpool, yoga classes and lots of shiny new equipment this isn't the place for you. But if you want a place to truly transform yourself- the iron, sweat, chalk, and camaraderie you will find here will do the trick. I love this place. read more
