We contacted Clay Short one day after arriving in Denver to help us find a first floor apartment, with it's own entrance for small dogs, pool, work out room, etc. Not only did he find ALL of this but he did it in one day's time! We highly recommend contacting Colorado Lease Up - Clay short! Thank you for making our relocation go smoothly as it has! read more

I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to Clay Short. What makes my experience so unique is that Clay doesn't even do apartment locating anymore. He works on the developer side now, helping entire buildings lease up and training teams nationwide. Yet despite having moved on from working with individual renters, he still took the time to personally help me, simply as a gesture of goodwill. That alone speaks volumes about his character. I was relocating to Denver from out of state and felt overwhelmed by all the options. Clay immediately helped me re-scope my search, cut through the noise, and focus only on places that actually fit my needs and lifestyle. He pulled walkability data, weighed neighborhood pros and cons, and explained what was worth paying for versus what wasn't. He spared me hours of stress and decision fatigue by narrowing my list down to the best true options. What really set him apart was how personally invested he became in my process. Clay actually went out to the property I was most interested in and FaceTimed me through the unit so I could see it for myself in real time. He also leveraged his deep industry relationships. Because of his years in the business, he happened to know the manager at the building and was able to connect directly on my behalf. Having someone with that level of credibility advocating for me as an individual renter is something you simply don't get anywhere else. On top of that, he gave me candid local insights, such as where I'd find true community, what areas to avoid, even tips about traffic patterns. You'd only get this knowledge from someone who has lived and worked in Denver for decades. He was incredibly thoughtful about aligning the apartment choice with my actual lifestyle, not just the square footage or rent number. All of this he did with zero obligation. Clay didn't have to spend his time walking me through floor plans, checking on rates, or running through lease structures, but he did anyway, because he genuinely wanted me to feel confident with my decision. Clay's professional background is extraordinary (over 22 years of experience, more than 40 successful lease-ups across the country), but what impressed me even more was his humanity. He treated me with patience, respect, and the kind of care you rarely find in this industry. If you're lucky enough to have Clay in your corner, you'll see what I mean. He's one of those rare professionals whose expertise is matched by integrity and generosity. He turned what could have been an exhausting, stressful relocation into a smooth, even enjoyable process. I'd recommend him a hundred times over. read more

We emailed Clay to help us find an apartment in downtown Denver. We were coming from San Francisco to look at places in a couple weeks and wanted to make the most of our short time. We set up a call to talk about our priorities when it came to housing. It was clear he pays close attention to his clients' needs and wants to reduce anxiety, confusion and delays. He sent us a list of places that might fit our needs and we sent him back our feedback and selections to view while in Denver. He then set up appointments for us to view 8 or 9 places on a Friday. It wasn't easy with a 6 month old, but Clay picked us up in the morning at our Airbnb, stopped at the local store for us to grab some breakfast and patiently yet efficiently took us around the neighborhoods, giving us geographic context, additional insights into each place we toured, and explaining the possible "concessions" (discounts/promotions) we may be able to utilize at each place we visited. We looked over all the information we collected the following day and decided to see a few more places on Sunday before we left Denver. With little notice, Clay picked us up again and took us around to a few more places. Long story long, we took some time to think it all over when we flew back home and reached out to Clay when we had landed a job offer and decided it was time to relocate. He asked around at our top selections to find out availability at the time and we ended up with our first choice (part of that was luck)! But we wouldn't have felt SO CONFIDENT in our decision if we hadn't worked with Clay and had his EXPERTISE and ADVOCACY every step of the way. Thanks, Clay! We highly recommend working with Clay if you need help finding your next apartment in Denver! read more

AMAZING! Don't wait. Don't hesitate. Call right now! Clay and Colorado Lease Up are absolutely amazing! I just got a new job in Denver, and while my fiance and I knew the area from a stint there 2 years ago, so much has changed! After opening hundreds of browser tabs, I knew I needed help. Clay to the rescue! From the first moment I spoke to Clay on the phone I knew we were in good hands. He immediately put us at ease and helped set us up for a successful and expeditious hunt. We had only 36 hours in Denver to find a place to live, and we could not have done it without Clay's help. We went over our needs/wants on a call and then Clay gave us an annotated list of apartments, from which we narrowed it down to our top 10. Clay helped us narrow it down to 7 and then added in an extra (and really special) one based on all of our conversations. When we arrived to Denver, clay picked us up from Union Station and took us for a coffee to level set for the day. From there he had schedule a fully packed 8 hour day with appointments to view 8 different properties. At each property it was clear that Clay not only knew what he was talking about, but also that he had an Amazing rapport with all of the management and leasing professionals. Clay helped us ask the tough questions, negotiate concessions, keep our priorities in order, and stay on task. Had I attempted to do this myself, there is absolutely no way I could have made such a fine-tuned schedule nor have picked a list of so many winners. Without Clay we would have just wasted time. Last but not least, IT DIDN'T COST US A DIME! Colorado Lease Up gets paid by the management companies, and not by renters. Not only did it cost us nothing to work with Clay, I know we found a better apartment and got a better deal than we would have had we tried to go it alone. Call Clay Now! read more

I contacted Clay regarding my move from Boston to Denver in January, which was very early considering I wasn't planning to move until August/September. However, he still called me after I emailed him to get an understanding of who I was, my budget, and what I'd be looking for in an apartment. Fast forward to meeting Clay in July to go apartment hunting: As most of the reviews mentioned, a few days before meeting Clay, he sent me a list of properties that worked with my budget and had the basics of what I was looking for, so I wasn't going in "blind" to see the various properties. He was on-time, professional, and gave me his honest opinions on some pros/cons of the various properties I had "okayed" on the list he sent prior. Honestly, when I was thinking about apartments, I didn't know what I wanted beyond the basics: parking, laundry (preferably in unit), and walking distance to the school I'd be attending. However, through our conversations and his observations of the things I was gravitating towards during each apartment we visited, he provided even more insight on which properties/locations would be a good fit for me. Speaking of insight, Clay is SUPER knowledgeable about the properties he's in contact with. That includes the construction of the property and how it may be beneficial to living there, the amenities offered, the property management team, the location surrounding the property, and so much more! I ended up getting a gorgeous one-bedroom apartment in a new property with all the "must-haves" I mentioned prior, along with so much more. I can't wait to move in! Thanks to Clay, apartment hunting has been the least stressful part of the relocation process for me. He's an expert in this field, and truly loves what he does, displayed through the thoughtful insights and attention he gave me during this process. He wasn't just trying to get an apartment for me, but "the" apartment for me. I would recommend him to anyone looking for an apartment in the Denver area. read more

My wife and I literally just got back to our hotel from checking out a few apartments in the Union/downtown area. I had to come in here and leave a 5 star review. The experience with Colorado Lease Up was nothing short of spectacular! I initially contacted Colorado Lease Up about a week before coming to Denver for an interview for a doctorate program I am applying to. Clay responded to my call and was very attentive to all of the different things my wife and I were looking for in an apartment. Apartment style, location, walkability, scenery, and fun things to do. He took note of everything, was extremely responsive, and put us in contact with Marsanne. Marsanne is AWESOME! She gave us a very good idea of each neighborhood we were discussing, asked us a bunch of questions, gave us a bunch of suggestions, and was extremely patient and kind with all my questions and requests. She gave us a list of about 10 places with in-detail reasons why they were selected, and from there we narrowed it down to about 5. She planned to pick us up at our hotel in the morning and tackle each place up until the early afternoon. She was punctual, professional, and just a very cool person in general. She gave us all the tips on places to go while here, and also was very knowledgeable of each apartment we went to see. She was also very real, and didn't try to sell us on any BS. She knew what we wanted and went after those things exactly. There was no waste in time, and the morning was super pleasant. If you're planning on moving to Denver and need some guidance on some apartments to visit, I strongly recommend Marsanne and the Colorado Lease Up Team. Would give more than 5 stars if I could! read more

Marsanne was absolutely amazing helping me and my boyfriend find a place on incredibly short notice! Relocating from the Bay Area for work I had spent weeks on all of the apartment sites looking at stuff, reading bad reviews and was just getting frustrated with not knowing what was the best option. I talked to Marsanne a week before coming out on a apartment hunting trip and 2 weeks before I moved. She sent me a listing of places ahead of time that met all of my requirements and on the day of took us around to see the places. You can tell from her interactions at the apartments that they like and respect her because we definitely got the red carpet rollout for viewings. They even squeezed us in at one place between appointments when they were already fully booked because it was her. In the end we went with the very first apartment we looked at because we were so blown away. Oh and the whole service was totally free. Such great service! read more

Clay has been super patient and helpful. He gave me tons of professional advice and helped me communicate with leasing offices.

Are you kidding me? A business that harasses you for giving an honest opinion. No wonder why you don't have any negative reviews you go after anyone that dares to be honest. This is not a fake review and I would appreciate it if you stop messaging me and try to do better. read more

After I accepted a new job and before I moved to Denver, I had no idea where to begin looking for apartments. I did some research online and stumbled upon Colorado Lease Up. I contacted them with my needs/wants for an apartment and Clay responded in no time. Jennifer planned a tour for me and showed me exactly the types of apartments I was looking for. I saw 4-5 places and liked most of them. I kept an open mind going into the last one for the day and ended up picking that one because of the location, amenities, and the view! Highly recommend people looking for a new place in Denver to contact these guys as soon as possible. I am very happy I did! read more

Michelle and Clay sprung into action immediately after we reached out to help us find a new apartment that fit our budget and checked all the boxes we were looking for. Michelle was quick to respond to our communications, gave us several options to choose from and got the engagement rolling with the management of the property we ultimately ended up picking. I would highly recommend Colorado Lease Up for their great customer service and knowledge of the Denver area. read more

I'm annoyed at this company as their website is entirely aimed at triggering unwanted phone calls instead of actually adding value. If you want something outside of LoDo ... don't bother. The company should focus more on actually adding value, having hundreds of additional lease options and less heckle factor. The website totally fails at actually trying to address needs and pushes only.a few properties. Avoid. read more

The Best Free Employee You Will Ever Have! During our first phone call Clay came right out and said he aims to be the best free employee I have ever had. After all our interactions I would say he is not only is he the best free employee, he would definitely be in contention for best period! My wife and I are relocating from the Houston area and had little time to actually be on the ground looking at apartments. We had 2 or 3 phone calls with Clay to detail what we were looking for and our budget. Clay was very respectful of the budget (even though we were interested in an area where our budget was closer to the bottom of what was available). In prior moves we have used apartment locators and typically found they had ulterior motives and would try to get you in the apartment paying the most commission, not necessarily the best for us. Clay broke that mold! It was obvious he actually cared about what we wanted and put that above any commission a particular community was offering. We had planned on viewing apartments for a day and a half. Clay put together a list of some great looking apartments and spent time with us to cut through the advertising flair to give us the true story behind the neighborhoods, buildings and management teams. He didn't sugar coat anything, if a building was in a questionable or "in transition" neighborhood he was up front. He understood the building construction and even what you would be looking at from a noise level. He was also able to ask probing questions that helped up adjust our priorities and find the perfect apartment. At the end of the first day we had found 2 places that were both awesome! He was even able to help negotiate an deal on a 25th floor unit that I would have never even considered due to the list price! With Clay's input we were able to make the decision easily and get the unit that day. We move in on May 21st and could not be more excited! I normally look at renting like buying a car, a painful experience full of wasted time. Clay's no nonsense approach made the process actually fun to be a part of. If you are looking for an apartment in downtown Denver you should do yourself a favor and chat with Clay, you will not regret it! Great Job Clay! Thanks so much for your help! read more

If you're reading this review it means you're looking for a new place to live in Denver. Here's what you need to do: stop reading right now and call or email Colorado Lease Up. It's cool, I'll wait. Done? Good. Because they are, hands down, the best. My wife and I are relocating from New York thanks to job relocation, and we only had a few days to find our home. Clay sent us an email, called me on the phone, and really talked to me about what we needed. None of the other apartment finding services were as prompt, thorough, or on-top-of-it. When we met up with Clay & Christina, they listened to everything we said, found the best apartments to show us, and truly advocated for us at every property. They never tried pushing us towards a unit we didn't want, even reminding us when we starting looking a bit beyond our means that the apartment was nice, but they had to be the "voice of reason." Best of all, they've both worked at the apartments and for the companies we visited; so they had the "inside scoop" to share. He also wouldn't choose for us, but rather presented all of the pros and cons at the end when we were really struggling, and helped us make our own decision. Aside from being amazing at what they do, they're also amazing people. Remember, you're spending a day or two looking at apartments with these folks--hanging with them is a requisite! They truly turned something nerve-wracking (especially when you take into account my level of neuroticism), and made it fun, exciting, and a great use of time. Not to mention we found an amazing apartment we can't wait to move into! Thanks again guys!! read more

Clay was incredibly helpful in our recent relocation to Denver. Coming from Chicago, we really had no idea what to expect in the housing market in Denver. I was hired right before the holidays for a new job starting in Denver right after the New Year. Schedules were hectic and there's no way we could make a trip to Denver to look at apartments work for us. This was absolutely no issue for Clay. He sent a personalized list of apartment options that fit our needs - dog friendly, ideally short-term lease option, etc. - and then once we narrowed it down to our top 5, he did a full day of Skype tours with us! Clay was so helpful and talked through all the options with us - pros and cons - and really helps us decide what option would be best for us, our lifestyle and our pups. A month after moving in, we couldn't be more satisfied with the results and absolutely could not have done it without Clay. If you're thinking about moving to Denver and don't know where to start in apartment-hunting, Clay is your guy! He's the best! read more

Clay was a huge factor regarding where I ultimately decided to live. I walked into cadence apartments on a whim to see I could do a walk in tour. I quickly realized that their units were quite a bit higher than my price point but figured it wouldn't hurt to take a look around. I communicated this to Clay, expecting him to lose interest in me or to give me a half hearted tour. On the contrary, he was extremely enthusiastic and helpful and put in a lot of effort to understand my housing needs. He also gave great information about the Denver housing market as well as how cadence apts specifically was a good deal. He took care to make some small talk, which was really appreciated after talking to other brusque agents who were basically trying to push a sale. Ultimately I ended up going with cadence and I haven't regretted it since. Clay is professional and friendly and I highly recommend him. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience- and I very rarely can say that about a business! Jennifer asked me my preferences (location, price, apartment size etc) and sent me about 7 apartment complexes with a moderately long great explanation that was personalized to why it may be a great fit. Some were not the exact location where I thought I'd want to be, but she explained her reasoning for including them and in the end, I chose one in a location outside of the zone I asked her to find! She offered to even tour with me, which was unexpected for an apartment search! It came to two choices, and even asked her to help me decide which one based on my personality and needs, and she ultimately 'hinted' at the best place for me. She hit the nail on the head, and I'm in a perfect apartment that I'm thrilled with. Of note- she found deals on apartments that I couldn't even find on my own on their website. It's a no brainier to use this service- it wasn't a cost to me, and it actually saved me money as she found a "one month free" deal I wouldn't have found on my own. Apartment searches are overwhelming- give this team and email and see what they can do for you! read more

Truly can't say enough good things about Clay. If you need to find a place to live in Denver, Clay is your guy. He does a superb job understanding what your priorities are and matching them up to different properties in Denver. He is super knowledgeable about not only the area, but the individual buildings themselves, down to the various floorplans they have to offer. He knows all the right questions to ask. Many of the buildings we visited had lined up a few units to show us, and Clay would ask about additional floor plans that he thought would be a good fit for us. We would not have found the place we ended up in if it weren't for him. Apartment hunting can be daunting, especially if you are moving from out of town, but with Clay it was a breeze. We had a great experience and walked away very happy--definitely recommend! read more

The thought of trying to find a rental apartment in Denver on our own was overwhelming. Having read previous reviews we contacted Clay. From our initial conversation I knew we had made the right decision and the process has been seamless since. Clay is professional but not stuffy, so very personable and welcoming and incredibly good at what he does. He was intent on finding us the right property to fit our needs and was a great advocate for us in negotiating the fine points ....and there are quite a few involved with leasing in this market. We can't speak highly enough about our experience and had some fun along the way as well! Don't hesitate to call him to assist you with your relocation. read more

Clay has gone above and beyond to help my move back to denver be effortless and thoroughly researched. Moreover, he managed to find unfathomable economical deals in the most desirable, high quality properties in the most popular neighborhoods in Denver. His professionalism and connections with the rapidly growing leasing properties is truly incredible - and he knows how to communicate with the right people to help you not only find, but sign a lease at a price you will be thrilled with, and a new home in Denver you will realize quickly you would never have found without Clay! Thank you, Clay, for your time and effort and for putting in that 110% for me! read more

What I appreciated MOST was how Clay advocated for us on every property we visited. He pressed for elements he knew we cared about and questions we had forgotten to ask. He addressed our pros and cons at each place and I always felt like he was looking out for our best interests. Clay's a solid guy with tons of realty knowledge that brought us outsiders from zero to 60 in two days. I can't recommend him enough. After a brief conversation, you'll learn that Clay is very personable, responsive and keenly familiar with characteristics of many Central Denver rental properties. He made the best use of our apartment-hunting time, matching options with our desires and making appointments that fit our schedule. My wife and I will soon be relocating to Denver from out of state. We had the most positive, stress-free apartment-hunting experience thanks to Clay. We would be happy living at several of the properties he showed us. As it turns out, we chose a property that had no connection to Clay and did not financially benefit him at all. This review is the least I could do. read more

Clay is amazing. This review is long overdue! Relocated to Denver with my wife and newborn for a job late last year. I didn't know the area well enough to make a decision on housing alone so we worked with Clay. We couldn't have lucked out any more. He's the best! Very easy to work with, responsive, knows all the properties in the area and their management. This makes the process seamless. Do yourself a favor and work with Clay. Thank you Clay! read more

Let me start off by stating that I'm am perhaps one of the most hard to please customers you could ever worry of having contact you. Clay and Colorado lease up has gone so far above my standard I could have imagined , he truly made my transition to Denver as smooth as could be. Like many moving to this city, I had no idea where I should live, I also knew that I would be buying within a year and wanted to be price conscience while also exploring a majority of my materialistic needs . Clay and I met the first day and he took the time to get to know me, not just my net worth but know what I needed from my first home in Denver . He took the time to show me multiple neighborhoods along with potential properties in each location. After we had narrowed it down he was constant to remind me of our original conversation and keep me on target of my original needs . I really can't say enough , if you're moving to Denver the first and only call you should make is to Clay and Colorado lease up. Any concern you may have he will have covered ! Thanks a ton Colorado lease up for taking such a weight off my shoulders ! read more

Every city would benefit from Clay and company's help! I can't provide a higher recommendation for a business. You must contact him if you are moving to the Denver metro area. Although Clay is free to renters (and paid by lessors), he went above and beyond to ensure my move from Boston to Denver was stress-free. I feel he truly understood my priorities and found the perfect apartment complex to meet those. To provide some more detail: Months before my move, we talked on the phone about what I was looking for (beyond just basic rent/bedrooms to considerations like my lifestyle, neighborhood, etc.). Within a few days, he sent me options of apartment complexes that met my criteria, along with his own input about the pros/cons of each complex. I then met with him and his employee Chris (who was fantastic - both knowledgeable and personable) during a weekend in Denver and they brought me around to the complexes we'd narrowed down, with thorough walkthroughs and answering my questions at each. I never felt that they had anyone's interest in mind but my own, which was such a supportive environment to explore options in. Their connections to the complexes and knowledge of the area (e.g., upcoming construction and noise levels) are impressive and they truly made apartment hunting enjoyable! read more

I worked with Michelle as I prepared to move from New England to Denver. She was highly professional: courteous, quick to respond and deliver detailed information, receptive to additional questions and requests. She adapted her search as I gave her more information. I couldn't have asked for anything more. She was far, far better than the other apartment locator I contacted during the same search. I would definitely use Michelle and CO Lease Up again. read more

There's not really a lot to say about Clay and his work that hasn't already been said, but it's worth repeating. Clay is the best resource you will find in CO. I did spend a few minutes talking to people from other locators, but it was clear that Clay really knows Denver, its neighborhoods, and the apartments within them. It wasn't a tough choice at all to utilize his services. In addition to his vast and ridiculous knowledge of all things Colorado, Clay is super fun to hang out with. Apartment hunting definitely felt like a day long road trip with a friend, which was a great bonus. Anyway, Clay listened carefully to what I wanted (and made some great suggestions for other things I might need), and locked in on the perfect spot for me. Can't wait to move in! Clay - Thank you so much! Let me know when you need someone to walk the pups. I'm there, dude! read more

Clay and Christina were so incredible to work with! Clay originally emailed us (within a few hours!!) eased our worries, and passed us over to Christina. My room mate and I are moving from the East Coast (me from Miami and her from Washington DC) and while we both have been to Denver a few times, this will be our first time living there. Christina immediately asked us our lists of wants and needs and came up with an amazing list of apartment homes for us to look at. The one that we fell in love with she set up a walkthrough for us that next day and did a three way Skype call with us and walked us through the entire building! We looked at the common areas, the outdoor spaces, went over everything we needed to know (where to get mail, packages, walk our dogs... pretty much anything we would need to know upon move in day.) She got us an EXACT price of what we would be looking at spending when we arrived-security and pet deposits, a monthly average of utilities, and our final rent price. She walked us through two apartment complexes and we were amazed at how beautiful the complex was. She was very conscious of our budget and found us the most amazing place in a neighborhood that we are so excited to call home. Overall, our experience with Colorado Lease Up was beyond what we could have hoped. Moving from so far away and feeling so confident about this journey ahead of us is so calming. I moved to Denver from Seattle and was finding it difficult house hunting myself , that's when I reached Colorado Lease Up. I called Clay ( he was in charge to find me home ) around 10 A.M in the morning and gave him a list of my preferences ( safe neighborhood, easy access to link rail , close to downtown and also my monthly budget too ) and to my surprise clay came up with few properties by 10:30 A.M and also scheduled my appointment with them , when I saw those apartments they were exactly what I was looking for, I was more than happy to find one place but a friend of mine called up and showed me an apartment next to him which I liked and chose to be there. Clay really helped me a lot with this move, especially with my erratic schedule. He sent me a list of ~20 (? or more) apartments after I told him what I was looking for and I was able to choose my future apartment from that list. He accommodated with my schedule and drove me around to the apartments in the 3-4 hour gap I had before catching my plane. He even drove me back to the Union Station light rail so I had no trouble getting to the airport. He is very knowledgeable about the area and without him, I don't think I could have made the decision as easily as I did, especially in a very short time frame. Clay took into consideration what I wanted in an apartment and the one I ended up getting is perfect for me :) read more
