We called Decks By Caio and Wagner came out immediately to give us a reasonable quote. We really wanted to have a full redwood deck since that was what we were used to having and loved the feeling and look of wood. To our delight, Wagner made that happen for us. We had certain specifications we wanted for the deck, and again that was no problem for Wagner and his team. Throughout the entire process, there was direct and clear communication between the foreman Frank, Diiego our builder, and the whole Decks By Caio team. They arrived when they said they would arrive, and when they left each night, Diiego cleaned the work area so it was not a hazard for us or our dogs. When building the deck, Diiego made sure that the patterns on the wood flowed to produce a beautiful visual to the eye. From start to finish, working with Decks By Caio was a joy. I would highly recommend them if you're looking to replace or build a new patio.

Wagner and his team are stellar. We can't recommend them highly enough…read more We own a 50 year old home in the country, with an existing large (40'x13') deck in back above a walk-out basement and patio (the deck is elevated about 8 feet). The joists were starting to rot, so we knew it was time to replace it. After interviewing several builders, we settled on Decks by Caio. He walked us through the various options and some changes we'd like to make. We decided the new deck would be slightly larger (44'x14') to accommodate stairs at one end plus a long ADA-style ramp at the other running along the side of the house. We chose TimberTech PVC decking, which is attractive, durable, and highly fire resistant (a big deal out here) in a simple two-tone "picture frame" style, which looks gorgeous. Underneath, the decking is supported by steel joists atop some really beefy yellow cedar engineered beams. The difference in quality between the old deck and the new is night and day. If that was all I was judging on, this would still be a rave review. But, as I alluded to, there were some surprises along the way. The first was that the primary decking color we'd chosen was discontinued at just about the time we chose it. But Wagner was able to locate and obtain enough to complete our project, buying it ahead of time even though our project wasn't scheduled to be built for a couple of months. Another was that it was irrigation season here, which raises the groundwater level and caused the holes dug for the caissons to fill up with water. We had to wait a few weeks for the water level to subside before we could pour, and Wagner's team took additional precautions by adding a water barrier to help protect them The biggest surprise had nothing to do with the deck at all. Turns out that decades ago a previous owner had built an unpermitted addition to the house. We didn't know it, but the county spotted it when Wagner went to get the deck permit, and insisted on it being remedied. Wagner was able to get permission to start the deck while we went through the "as built" permit process for the old addition. He was a huge help, and even got his structural engineer to do the engineering assessment they required. There were enough issues with the addition that while the deck itself was finished in a matter of weeks, passing all the inspections too almost a year. Again, this had nothing to do with Decks by Caio - in fact, we had multiple inspectors compliment us on the deck while still finding "one more thing" that needed to be fixed in the old addition. It was a bit maddening, but Wagner and his team handled it all with patience, professionalism, and humor. The good news is that this means we've had nearly a year of enjoying the new deck before writing this review. It's still terrific, and once our budget allows, we are looking forward to working with Decks by Caio again to add a pergola and extend the patio as well.

I…read moreonly had a small job I thought, replace a bathroom type ceiling exhaust fan that was in the laundry room of the house I had just recently bought. A malfunctioning exhaust fan is an odd problem to handle because electricians don't want to deal with duct work or anything they consider HVAC and HVAC people want to work on/replace furnaces or air conditioners not exhaust fans. Through Yelp I found and contacted Travis at Handyman Plus. He made an appointment and showed up right on time. The "broken" exhaust fan was not actually broken it turns out, nor was the switch which seemed to do nothing. It's a type of continuous running whole house exhaust fan unlike anything I had seen before. The wall switch which appeared like it might be broken wasn't it's just the way this fan operates. Travis got me all the information I needed to look up this fan and learn how to use it. A few weeks later I had a medicine cabinet I wanted installed in our master bathroom. As the wall area to be opened also housed the electric line to an outlet I asked Tarvis to do the installation. Again this was a small job, not the scale of work sought by many people in an up economy. Travis made an appointment, texted me when he was on his way and did an excellent job installing my cabinet; without hitting the power line or electrocuting himself. I'm really pleased with the work but more pleased overall with Travis of Handyman Plus. He is professional, thorough, capable and resourceful. I would not hesitate to call him for much larger jobs.

Business: 180 Construction / Eric Wiltse Services…read moreAdvertised: General Contractor · Home Builder · Winterization Location: Colorado Date of Service: October 26, 2023 Amount Paid: $425 Review: I hired Eric Wiltse of 180 Construction in October 2023 to winterize a mountain home in Nederland, Colorado. I paid $425 for "Winterize - Water/Drains/Appliances," which included labor and antifreeze, as reflected on the invoice. The business publicly advertises services as a General Contractor and Home Builder, and I relied on those representations when hiring him, it's my second home and I informed him I was hiring him to do a full weatherization as I was told I needed to do if I wasn't returning for a long extended time . Eric Wiltse assured me he does this weatherization procedure a lot and has many clients who also own mountain home properties to assure me and gain my trust . Prior to the work, Mr. Wiltse texted to confirm that he was in his way to the property to winterize the home at 205 Hazelwood Drive, Nederland, CO. After receiving access confirmation. He later sent text that the work was finished and that he was on his way home. I relied on this text confirmations that the winterization had been completed and everything went well. When I returned to the home last month , I entered the home, I discovered there was no heat, no hot water, and no running water. , my cousin called a emergency # that comes out in the evenings . House had electricity.. no heat or hot water and I was informed by the technician it's not something they can do on this service call. It's serious damage . I called another company who would come to Nederland the next day for help to find out why there's no heat or water. Contractor arrived to inspect and diagnose the issue and determined that the winterization had been performed improperly. Pipes froze and burst throughout the home, and the boiler system was damaged and rendered inoperable . I showed them the detailed bill from Eric Weltse and they pointed out they the bill shows why everything happened . The contractor didn't do a full correct weatherization. Confirmed with the details in that bill. I trusted him to do the right thing It's nothing less than catastrophic damage and the house is not livable with no heat or hot water. I have now received professional repair estimates totaling $31,965, including extensive repiping, water heater replacement, and a boiler system replacement alone is approximately $15,000 This damage was not routine wear and tear. It has been identified as the result of improper winterization work. The scope and cost of the damage far exceed anything disclosed or reasonably anticipated. I have written communications (text messages) from Mr. Wiltse confirming travel to the property, performance of the winterization, and completion of the work. These communications are being preserved as evidence. Due to the extent of the damage and financial harm, I am in the process of filing a civil lawsuit in Colorado court within the next two weeks to recover damages related to this matter. I am sharing this experience publicly to warn others. Winterization in mountain conditions is critical, and improper work can cause catastrophic damage. Anyone considering this company should independently verify licensing, scope of work, and accountability before hiring. 12/15/2025 This is an itemized list a Licensed Contractor sent me what a legitimate Weatherization bill should look like . Not a bill that Eric Wiltse provided correct, itemized winterization invoice looks like (Boiler-heated, vacant mountain home) A legitimate winterization bill would separately itemize each system addressed. Boiler work is always listed as "Boiler" or "Hydronic Heating System" -- never buried under "appliances." Why the boiler is primary * In a boiler-heated home, the boiler is the heat source and often also feeds domestic hot water (directly or via an indirect tank). * If the boiler isn't protected, you lose heat first, which then causes: * freeze damage to plumbing * failure of hot water delivery * That makes the boiler omission the root cause. 12/15/2025 Added a very important Example of a proper invoice, compared to the invoice Eric Wiltse provided to me Is Attached in the images Please read
