We purchased several slabs and had them shipped, then we actually completed the fabrication ourselves for a kitchen, mud room, and 2 bathrooms. (DIY was much easier than you'd think, honestly! The hubs is a former builder so we are experienced DIY-ers, however, we did the job with a standard circular saw and a belt sander to round the edges. This included precise cutouts for 4 undermount sinks. As the name indicates, soapstone is softer than granite making it easier to DIY.) Since moving back to Denver, I've visited M Teixeira's showroom twice for a couple small projects and am about to oversee another kitchen remodel with soapstone. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Anthony is awesome, no nonsense, low pressure - very easy to work with - and the selection is fantastic. Regarding soapstone in general, I HIGHLY recommend it! It's so much easier to maintain than marble (which we have currently) and granite or concrete (both of which we've had in previous homes).

M.Teixeira Soapstone did the countertops for my kitchen remodel and they look great. The process of…read moreselecting the product and then templating and installation was pretty easy. The only downside was that they schedule templating quite a days out (3 weeks from when I picked my slabs) and then fabrication takes another 2 weeks, so it took a total of 5 weeks. When installation time came, they got everything installed, but left quite a mess in the backyard. They also had to come back a few days later with a bigger cutting bit for an pop-up outlet hole that they couldn't do on installation day.

Custom material that is a dream to clean (NO GROUT!!), looks fabulous, and included a huge custom poured shower base that was very heavy and difficult to maneuver up our steep narrow staircase but they handled it all very professionally and I could not be happier with the results. A few caulk lines sank and one side of bath panel had bowed a bit but Jeff and Junior came right out and fixed it. I've had a very bad experience with another contractor so having such a positive outcome with DMC and their glass contractor was such a welcome relief. Their pricing was a bit better than others. You won't be disappointed.

They were priced very well for the scope of the project and the products they rep in their showroom, made in the US, are varietal in pricing, but all very good quality respectively. She even told us ways we could save money by doing certain things ourselves or by going through 3rd parties. Once we decided on what we wanted they came out and did measurements of our kitchen and then did a 3D rendering of our design plan. Once we approved it she got things ordered and kept us informed of things. We ran into various delays and issues from suppliers along the way, but Alma was quick to reach out and offer suggestions and find alternatives. There were some elements we did on our own but she was always supportive and willing to help out. In the end, everything came together incredibly well. We absolutely love our new kitchen and look forward to the many meals we'll cook and the time we get to spend in it.

I paid for it on the spot, and they were able to get the guys out to measure and install it within a week or two. If you get up close, you can see where they didn't caulk it perfectly, but it was a good enough job and I was happy with how it looked and how fast it occurred. Fast forward to recently, I contacted them again, explained I was a repeat customer, and then asked them to help me with a stone cutting/quartz job in my bathroom. It took over two months to get a tech out to the house. The excuse was, we are really busy and we have scheduled work. I pointed out, I am a paying customer as well, I too deserve to be scheduled, not just told you'll fit me in when you can fit me in. Even after the tech came to measure, nobody got back to me, and when I finally reached out several times, they still had many of the same questions before the tech came over. I've had to send two, three, four emails to follow up. They don't seem to initiate contact, and they don't follow through. I don't know what's going on with their office but they seem really disorganized and unfortunately, I just can't keep waiting for them to ask me the questions to get organized to let me know if they can even do the job. My interactions with them over the last three months have been really disappointing. I just finally stopped reaching out to them.

As far as the process, it didn't appear as if the front office connected correctly with the estimator who didn't connect correctly with the installers: 1. Measurements left a corner open which was fixed with another piece inserted. 2. One side of the granite had an overhang, the other side was flush. 3. The sink was a 60/40 sink, but my garbage disposal was on the 60 side. 4. The dishwasher wouldn't close properly and I had to call them back on three separate occasions to correct it. Although all was corrected, it cost us both time and money. J&M purchased an additional slab to recut and install, and I had additional plumber expenses. Over a period of a couple of weeks everything was corrected. I love the granite and although there were additional expenses, I think I received the service at a good price.
