Their customer service has gone a step beyond in making sure everything was working as it should, adjusting where the installer didn't do quite everything perfectly. Jan saw to it the design was implemented as we planned and kept me in the loop when I was unable to be on sight. She went to the job site to make sure it was all going according to plan! After installation, Joe came out and made all the adjustments necessary to make sure all reveals were exact, hinges aligned as they should and all the openers/ closers worked perfectly. The quality of Avalon's product is top notch. The fact it was manufactured locally is even better. (If you have the opportunity to visit the manufacturing facility, you WILL BE IMPRESSED!) I could not be happier with both the experience AND the product. Jan was really great to work with, helping to provide a seamless design from inception through installation. Avalon is not your mom's cabinet maker - they can compete with the best for design, options and product!! Highly recommended. A+

We went with Kitchens on Broadway after receiving a glowing recommendation from neighbors who had a great experience. Unfortunately, we later discovered that the designer they worked with had left the company, along with several other senior designers. We skipped doing our own homework and ended up regretting it. We paid a $1,200 design fee, and after six months--only after we had repeatedly asked for our money back--we finally received renderings and a layout that essentially copied a design we had already created ourselves using free online software and had provided to them three months earlier, so this was incredibly disappointing. Since then, we've done our own research and found several other reputable kitchen and bath designers in the Denver area who offer an initial design, budget estimate, and timeline before requiring any payment. Often being able to provide an initial design within 2 weeks. That level of transparency and professionalism made us realize how far off our experience here was. I strongly recommend doing your due diligence as there are better options out there.

We bought our cabinets at Home Clearance Center, with Marcia Yost as our designer. We are delighted with the results, and Marcia was terrific to work with. When we finally decided to do this after talking about it for years, my wife wanted to get it done before the end of July. An interior designer we were talking with just wasn't as responsive as we wanted. After meeting with Marcia, we decided we didn't need the interior designer. Marcia was extremely prompt and responsive throughout the entire process, producing a 3D computer rendering of our cabinets and island, with price quote, less than a week after our first meeting. I am detail-oriented, and there were a lot of meetings and emails after that to fine-tune the design and specs. Marcia was always very patient and very quick to answer questions or address any issues. We ended up getting Diamond cabinets on the perimeter walls in cherry wood with a dark ("Grizzly") stain, and an island comprised of Showplace cabinets with a smoky blue paint finish. Marcia was very knowledgeable about both brands and their respective features. My wife knew a lot of what she wanted, but she was very taken with some additional options and features that Marcia showed us. Marcia also came up with some design elements we hadn't thought of, and she suggested several improvements on our own design ideas. When it came time for on-site measurements, we met in our home with Marcia and our contractor and walked through specific details, making several final adjustments. Marcia understands cabinet installation, and both at that meeting and later she gave some helpful tips to our contractor, who hadn't previously installed frameless (all access) cabinets. An important measure of how well a business takes care of customers is how they do when something goes awry. There were a few issues with the cabinets as shipped to us by both Diamond and Showplace. Marcia was right on top of it, working with both manufacturers to get the problems taken care of quickly. We felt like she was an advocate on our side, working to make sure we were satisfied. Our remodel was completed on schedule, and we couldn't be happier. We are pleased to be able to wholeheartedly recommend Marcia and Home Clearance Center without reservation. I'll post some pics of our new kitchen.

We were able to get the floors done without having to be out of the house, which was a great benefit. We could step on the freshly done floors within a few hours so we could get upstairs. The odor was minimal as well, and did not cause any discomfort. I wish someone would do this service and also move furniture. The hardest part of the ordeal was getting large items moved out and back in again. We had called several companies with the same response, so it is not unusual. The one thing I would have liked was a say about the final finish. We were not asked how we would like it. It is matte rather than a shinier surface, and while it looks good, it is not what we would have chosen. Similarly, the original finish had a slight tint to it and this is much lighter. Again, it looks good but communication in advance would have been appreciated. I still highly recommend this company. The work was well done and efficient, and our floors look great.

We had talked with contractors, but it became clear we needed a design to work from, and to make sure we would make the most of the home renovation and make sure we got what we wanted and expected. Kristina and Alexis are great to work with. They were hands-on and met with us to select tiling, lights, fixtures, etc. We needed their expertise and insight, but our choices reflected our preferences and taste. Kristina and Alexis do a great job of guiding without dominating. It was hard to find a designer and a contractor willing to work on only one bathroom. The layouts they provided failed to meet this goal-and worse, placed the laundry room awkwardly in the home's center. None worked for me, but after paying nine thousand dollars upfront, I felt committed to salvaging value. When Home Depot delivered a design I actually liked, I asked them to at least honor the discounts promised at the start. They didn't; prices stayed inflated, even during their shopping day, which Alexis chalked up to showroom markup. Now that Home Depot has finalized my plan, I'm asking Kristina and Alexis to fulfill our original agreement-they're refusing, saying too much time's passed, though it had been under a year. And when I first reached out? They demanded more money for more time. Unprofessional.
