When my husband and I arrived, she said that chair I was interested in was not in stock. I told her that is the chair. I was interested in that she gave me the quote on. She replied." Well, we can't keep everything in stock." I told her we drove a half an hour to get here to see that chair and I was unaware that it wasn't in stock. She asked where we drove from. I told her North Arvada. She replied." There's no way it took you a half an hour. It's a 15 minute drive I live in Broomfield. I know where you live". I cannot believe the unprofessionalism rudeness and laughing when I complained about the drive for nothing. She had the gall to ask if we wanted to look at anything else. I said absolutely not. We will go someplace else with our business. I thought this was an upscale furniture store with professional staff members. We should have been told the chair was not in stock. We should not have been treated rudely and flippantly. Do not give this place your business.

I was wrong, and I regret this decision. After three months (BluDot's issue not Mod Livin's), the planter finally arrived--but not black as pictured in the listing photos. The planter is grey. I reached out to Craig who, in the past, has offered the possibility of returns, but suddenly changed his philosophy with his online client base and has basically told me I'm stuck with this item. I was genuinely surprised and dismayed, as the 1) listing is unreliable, 2) online customers do not have the advantage of seeing an item in person, and 3) I would have been able return this item with Wayfair. Silly me for thinking on principle here, as this same courtesy has not been extended by the owner. I now have to pursue a chargeback for this item that has tied up my funds for three months and was an avoidable disappointment. After three years and several purchases with Mod Livin, this will be my last.

We wanted high-end quality that would fit a smaller space, include a wedge corner, have soft, top-quality leather, and still comfortably accommodate my 6'3" husband in a true lounging position. It felt nearly impossible. Then we walked into Howard Lorton and met Sue. She took the time to really listen, guided us with incredible knowledge, and helped us custom order what we thought was the perfect sofa. When it arrived, there were a few issues--seams not aligning, uneven cushions, and other details that didn't meet expectations. This is where Howard Lorton truly impressed us. Sue and Margo (the owner) went above and beyond--truly beyond my expectations--to make it right. They addressed every concern, worked closely with the manufacturer, and ultimately had a new sofa made while sending the original back to the factory so they could learn from the issues. Throughout the entire process, Sue was honest, responsive, and incredibly supportive. I felt in good hands the whole time. And now--I absolutely love, love, love my new sofa. In a market where it's hard to know who to trust, Howard Lorton stands behind their products and their reputation. This experience has made me an even more loyal customer. Highly recommend.

More recently we ordered a custom resin dining table, dining chairs, and a master bedroom set--all in black walnut--and each piece has exceeded expectations in both durability and beauty. We've also purchased paintings, metal prints, holiday decor, and more; every item reflects thoughtful craftsmanship.
