I have been going to Color Nails since they first opened in La Costa and continue to go there. I go to the location in the Pavillion center at the corner of Rancho Santa Fe Road and La Costa Avenue. My gal is Helen and she does a beautiful job on my fingernails and my toes. The shop is clean with lots of easy parking and it is a fun experience. Highly recommend! read more

This place is conveniently located but is extremely dirty! At first glance walking in the place appears clean, but once inside sitting down you can notice how dirty it really is. Toe nail clippings, dead skin on the floor. When the employees are waiting around for customers I feel as though they could be tidying up rather than just sitting around on their phones. I have never seen anyone clean/wipe down the pedicure chairs, tubs or sweep/vaccum the carpet ever! I noticed the same pile of dust that's been collecting from last year is still in the same spot! Horrible! The nail polish that the customers pick from on the two walls are so old and crusty that they run in under hot water or add acetone in them to be able to use them. Horrible! The ladies (employees) can be quite moody and rude not communicating. They get up to go wash their hands or walk around to the front right in the middle of your pedicure and no one knows what's going on until they return a few minutes later. Only becomes a friendly communication at the end when it's time to tip! Awful! read more

Two big thumbs-up for this nail salon and for Michelle, who did my nails. I was overdue for a manicure and thought I'd try this place since it's in the same shopping center where I frequent other businesses. I called first to make an appointment and they said, come on over, we can take you now. That's a YAY! in my book. When I arrived, I noticed the salon was clean and very pretty, and I was immediately pointed to Michelle's station. I go for regular manicures--no gel, no acrylic, no designs--I don't even get polish because of chemical sensitivity. There is a certain nail shape that I prefer, which is a fairly common shape. It's amazing how many manicurists over the years struggle with that shape. I explained the shape to Michelle, and she got it right the first time. YAY! Michelle also gave me a wonderful hand massage. I sat at a table and waited about 10 minutes so the wait was not bad at all for being a walk in. What I didn't like was how the lady was not attentive to me as she did my nails. They listen to what you want but also provide advice on products and what is good for your lifestyle. I make appointments but many times have just dropped in and they were able to accommodate me without much of a wait. Dalena the manager, is upbeat and is very good at customer service. All the nail technicians are extremely detailed oriented and talented. The salon is kept impeccable and everything is cleaned in between customers so they are very COVID aware. They distance customers and wear masks. I feel very safe when I go for my mani/pedi. Because they have an extensive staff they usually have openings for walk-ins. I don't even know how many stars to give them. I went 3 times, and each time there was an issue. I was really disappointed. I'm not one to complain, when I'm getting a pedicure, but all 3 times it was not good. The first visit was bad timing. I think that night was a prom, so very busy. I went in to use my gift card, my husband got me the works for mothers day. The most expensive mani pedi. The woman rushed so much, the parafin wax was on my hands for about 30 seconds before she took it off. Then she smeared the polish on one of my toes with her sleeve. She was mad she had to do the nail over again, and it felt like she was mad at me. She did it quickly and then smudged it again. Fixed it, when I left I looked closely, several of my toes had polish on the skin. A little bit. Second time, she didn't take off all the old polish completely, could still see the old color ony the edges. Third time was today, she was wonderful, very nice. But every toe is bumpy with what looks like bubbles. It's horrible. Bumps across every single toenail. I give up. For $27 plus a tip, I don't want bumpy toenails. First time here. I was surprised to hear that they've been there for 7 years!?! I didn't know they were there! I had Pauline who was very sweet and helpful, but I barely got any foot rub at all - maybe 15-30 seconds max. Swear!! I thought she jumped up to get more oil or lotion or something but came back with warm washcloth. I didn't say anything cause I was having a gel pedicure and sometimes they'll massage at the end?? Then I hear a man yelling at me what I needed. Although I didn't see his face, he mumbled something to one of the girls who came and guided me to my spa chair. The lady who did my pedicure was very sweet and did a fantastic job. Later on, I finally saw the guy who seems to manage this location. He was equally rude to everyone that walked in during my pedicure. He clearly needs some serious customer service skills. Although the restroom is fairly updated, it wasn't very clean. There were toilet paper rolls stuffed in a corner decor stand. There was a toilet seat cover dispenser that was empty. Pedicure 5 stars Management 2 stars Cleanliness 2 stars I really tried to like this place. Since I liked my pedicure, I'll give it another shot before going to another location. If the management reads this review, you need to learn how to treat people with respect. Good customer service skills bring in clients and keep them loyal. I had done dip nails at a different place while visiting my sister in TX and lived them. I was excited to get them redone here but ultimately was left extremely disappointed. I got them done last week and they're already chipping and peeling. In addition to that, I had asked for almond shape (and even showed a picture of what I wanted) and I ended up with a weird round shape with nails all different lengths. They're lumpy and thick. Not happy at all and will try to find somewhere else that is more experienced doing nails with the dip powder. read more

Super disappointed. First time here, and the people didn't seem friendly or welcoming. The person that did my nails seemed like she was in a HUGE rush (at the time there wasn't anyone waiting). There's nail polish dried onto my cuticles, she didn't seem to care about how they looked, and I felt so uncomfortable being there I just wanted to leave. There are large gaps between the nail polish color and my cuticles, it looks as if I have already had my nails on for a week and they've grown out. To make it worse, she didn't ask if I liked the way my nails looked or wanted her to fix anything. She quickly got up and left after motioning for me to move so I could dry my nails. First time here I came in with an appointment and they took me in maybe 5-10 minutes after my appt time so not too bad. The mani/pedi was excellent. The temperature in the salon was kind of warm though. Salon seemed clean enough. The nail tech left me with lumpy, bumpy, nubs of finger nails that are so thick that I'm going elsewhere to get it fixed. We live close by so my mother and I use this place a lot. Recently, however, their service has been getting worse and worse. I went in to get a set of SQUARE acrylics. Instead, after telling her nicely several times, she made them oval. A few days afterwards, my mom and I went for gel pedicures which used to cost $80 for us both but now suddenly cost $140??
