There were siblings dropped off by parents running errands, entire families doing projects, groups of girlfriends etc. Basically you choose a piece of pottery, then a color palette and BEGIN! The staff are rockstars. Seriously. Our kidlet is inquisitive and full of energy and they were kind and accommodating. I felt timid about requesting more colors and they insisted it was no problem fetching them. You leave the project to be fired in the kiln and pick it up (fairly quickly) after. I inquired about pricing before I went. As I look every night at my lantern when the timer LED candle goes in and I remember the fun we had, it feels totally worth it!

There ended up being a flaw in my bowl after they removed it from the kiln, so they actually let me come back and make another one, which I most definitely took advantage of. The bowl was not flawed enough that I didn't want it, so I ended up with two! I wouldn't go back regularly, but it's something I'd recommend you experience at least once. You are given a choice of several pictures, are described the pictures, are told where the supplies are and you go to work. If you're a beginner and don't know about colors, mixing, how much water to use, how much water you shouldn't be using, etc., you can ask, but your whole lesson would consist of asking, which is a waste of time. The children also use the supplies the adults use so they are sometimes less than reliable. We would.often bring our own supplies from home - including pastels/paint/chalk/brushes etc.. Remember! No refunds or credits! So even if you pay for a month and get sick with say, cancer-God forbid-no refunds and no credits.

A staff member called me a month later and told me one plate fused properly but the other one completely cracked in the kiln. And that when I come back I should get a refund for the one that cracked I called back 1 month later and the owner picked up and I asked what would be a good time to pop by to pick up the 1 piece that was fused properly and how getting a refund works for the other piece. He explained that they disposed off the 1 piece that survived as it had been 60 days (no one mentioned they throw out your work after 60 days...it wouldn't hurt to mention that in the phonecall) and he also said he had no record of anything related to the other plate cracking in the kiln and would not give me my money back. That's basically well over $200 gone down the drain. I can understand the 60 day policy of throwing things out, however if they lose/break your work they should keep record of it and give you a refund. I tried to explain the day I went, a little bit about the staff member but the owner said he had no way of knowing so couldn't process a refund.

Their staff is really helpful and attentive, so it made our first attempt in ceramic painting extremely easy and enjoyable. The only thing I was disappointed with was that it will take 2 weeks to get our ceramics back. Overall, we recommend trying out ceramic painting at Artopia.
