I had a very disappointing experience at the Benjamin Moore retailer in Chantilly, VA, on Friday…read more When I was checking out, the manager, Dustin, asked if I had a customer account. I told him I was going to make a quick phone call to get the account information. His attitude changed immediately. He became visibly angry and told me he was not going to sell me anything because I was on the phone trying to get the account number. I was surprised and confused by his reaction. I don't know what I did that warranted being treated that way. His behavior felt unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional, especially for someone in a management position. I hope this matter is taken seriously and reviewed. Customers should be treated with courtesy and respect. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like additional details about what occurred.

Thank you!

I used about 1 and one half cups out of it. On Aug. 9, 2023, I asked for it be shaken, and the clerk refused to do so because she said it might leak. I paid about $65 for the can. So I drove across town and went to Home Depot and they shook my Benjamin Moore paint for about 5 minutes without any hesitation or question. He checked the seal and then put it in the machine. No leak, no issues. I guess you get better service with more experienced employees. Nor did I get any pushback from Home Depot about shaking another store's paint. Now that's service!!! I never thought I'd be endorsing Home Depot over Benjamin Moore for paint, but here I am. . . Very disappointed with this store.

The store itself is always super clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with a great range of options for whatever you might need. Bonus points for parking too even though it's street parking only, I've never had trouble finding a spot! That said, I did run into an issue when I came in to have a key fob copied. Unfortunately, not only was the fob unable to be duplicated, but it was also accidentally deactivated during the process. Since it happened on a Friday evening, I wasn't able to reach my apartment management for a replacement, and ended up being without access for over two weeks. Despite that frustrating experience, I want to emphasize how great the team is overall. Everyone I've interacted with has been kind and helpful, and I truly enjoy shopping at this location. I just hope that, moving forward, there's a bit more caution with items like key fobs to prevent similar issues.

Every paint product I inquired about is more expensive here than at the Vienna Paint & Decorating Co. Some examples: BM paint sample: $7 at Vienna, $9 at Color Wheel BM Advance Primer gallon: $50 at Vienna, $55 at Color Wheel BM Advance paint gallon: $53 at Vienna, $58 at Color Wheel I think the reason is because the Color Wheel has a decorator on staff in its McLean location. However, I went to the Merrifield location, so I didn't get that benefit. Although I suppose there's something to be said for convenience since the Merrifield location is across the street from Home Depot, where you will likely be picking up other supplies for your home improvement project. But in any case, on Christmas Eve, the Vienna Paint & Decorating Co. was closed, so I had no choice but to pay these higher prices since I wanted to paint over the weekend. That said, the man working behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable, having done the same exact project as me (painting kitchen cabinets), and was happy to spend time with me to give tips and advice on how to do the project well. So although I'm still miffed by the prices, I was happy with the service I got.

I've been here twice since the new year, and with the time it takes to have paint shaken, I know & I've seen that they've taken the time to expertly match paint color from other brands, make sure you purchase the right product, and basically answer any & all questions you have. The store is also clean & nicely organized with a really nice paint chip display. Highly recommend...!
