This was the WORST experience ever! I needed Paintless Ding Repain, should be easy. To start, I drive a toyota tacamoa truck that has a bed cover that is coverd and requires a key to open. I went to BumperDoc to have a ding in each of my doors fixed. As I was there the guy providing the estimate upsold me by making a "package deal". They would fix any dent in the tail gate for double the price. I took the deal and was happy. I was offered a rental car for the day and was told that my truck would be done the next day wednesday. I was called wednesday and told that my truck would need another day and that the rental car would be covered, I guess this was ok. I was called yet again on thursday and given another excuse and my truck stayed there another night. I showed up on friday afternoon and was told the truck was "being finished up". So I paid and waited. A half hour later the manager came in and informed me that the dents in the tailgate had not been pulled out since they did not have the key to open the cover and take care of it. I was asked to come back yet again which I refused since my care had been there a few days, and I they could have asked for the key any time they had called in the last 3 days. I tried to ask for my money back for that portion of the the repair and gladly would pay for the rest of the work. Unfortunately I had already paid. This led to a refusal to refund the money for the undone work from the worker in front of the manager. An exchange of not so happy words exchanged between the worker and I before I had to ask the manager, standing there the whole time, why this was happening. Finally I was taken into the office and a small refund was given for the work not done, after the car had been there 3 extra days. Overall I was offended by the way I had been treated and the quality of the work, the people who work there, ect. I would not reccomend them! read more

One glaring omission was their failure to mention the daily parking fee of over a hundred dollars. This unexpected charge was not communicated upfront, leaving me completely blindsided upon discovery. This lack of disclosure regarding parking charges is both disheartening and concerning. Furthermore, during the inspection, I learned that if I chose not to proceed with any body repairs, I would still be liable to pay a substantial parking fee ranging from $1500 to $2000. Astonishingly, this detail was surreptitiously buried within an extensive contract, a clause that they conveniently chose to omit during any interactions. This blatant lack of honesty and integrity is truly disheartening. My decision to visit this establishment was influenced by their high Yelp rating. However, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel it is crucial to alert others to exercise caution and be vigilant when considering their services. In conclusion, I urge others to be wary when dealing with this establishment. The failure to disclose significant parking fees, coupled with the concealed contract clause, reflect a lack of honesty and transparency that should not be overlooked. It is my hope that my review can serve as a cautionary tale for others and encourage greater attention to detail when engaging with similar services in the future. read more

I went to Bumper Doc today and they did an AMAZING job cleaning up the horrible mess left by Bumper Rescue and their mobile unit. I hired Bumper Rescue to fix a 2 inch scrape on my rear bumper. They did a HORRIBLE job. Here's what happened: 1) Fish eyes (aka paint bubbles) galore; 2) Approximately 7 verticle paint streaks (which the technician claimed he didn't see but me, my wife and others clearly noticed it); 3) Scratches in several areas throughout the bumper that Bumper Rescue caused; 4) Dull and gritty finish; 5) Technician did not clean up after himself ... the black trim/plastic/rubber areas in and around the rear bumper and trunk were speckled from the paint he had used; 6) Noticeable blotches/discolorations. I called the owner, Mike after the work was completed and mentioned some concerns that I had. He said to bring the car down to their San Diego shop which I did, the next day. After driving 30 miles to his shop, he looks at the bumper and tells me there is nothing more he can do and refunds my money. All I wanted was for him to make it right by fixing the lousy job that was done. Instead, he gives me my money back and sends me on my merry way with my car looking worse than before they layed their sloppy, unprofessional hands on it. Go to Bumper Doc instead on Convoy St. in Kearny Mesa and ask for Buddy. Bumper Doc repaired the mess that Bumper Rescue created ... We found Bumper Doc through a recommendation of a tow truck driver - yes, I know what you're thinking - that there was going to be some kind of kickback or something, but the driver swore by these guys and he was 100% right!! These guys are awesome!! Not only did Ron work with us negotiating a deal with our insurance carrier after an accident, but he did top quality work.... and it didn't stop there... the body work was perfect, then he did a couple of extra little repairs like touching up some rust spots, replacing a burned out bulb, then to top it off, he changed my windshield wiper blades!! Since this repair, he replaced a windshield on my husband's truck and is now servicing my Jag - absolutely thrilled to find such a trustworthy business with integrity, quality and superior customer service. We've lived in California for 32 years and have used a variety of different body shops and mechanics over the course of our driving lives, but Bumper Doc (specifically, Ron and Cliff) is our go-to shop from now on!! This is a great shop to go to. I brought in my Nissan Frontier between Christmas and New Years after a car on the freeway threw up a huge rock that put a hole in my hood. I had prior significant front end damage from a few years ago that also needed to be repaired for the new hood to latch properly. Many parts were needed, it was between the holidays during the pandemic & several days in a row of rain, and there was a supply chain crisis. Another mobile body shop turned down my project, so then I got a referral to try Bumper Doc on Convoy. Lianna and Gus were both amazing, they were online and on the phone immediately, tracking down all the parts that were needed. In one case, even driving a long way to retrieve a part no one else had available locally. They went above and beyond to get the job done, and were honest about the scope and cost. It was not cheap. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I was the victim of a hit & run accident which left my front bumper, driver's side fender, and headlight damaged. I went in on 4/5/18 for an estimate and they gave me $1993.97 total for parts, labor and painting. I went and bought my own parts and went back to them on 5/16/18 and asked for another estimate to have the parts put on and repainted. "Eddie," the "owner," gave me the exact same estimate he gave me a month earlier. I asked him "why would it still cost the same if I am supplying my own parts? It said on the original estimate 'parts: $476.50.'" He then proceeded to tell me that he "didn't even want to touch my car," and he "wasn't interested in my work." This was my first time to the body shop. Great service and friendly staff and techicians. I was originally given a $85.00 quote for a mobile auto repair just for someone to take a look at my car, so i said "nope" and called BumperDoc. Jessica was really helpful over the phone and just said to stop by. The technicians resolved the issue with my trunk that could not be opened quickly with auto lube and elbow grease and didn't charge; I was very humbled since this has been an issue for me all week! They also recommended that I go to Toyota to get a new tumbler as that is the main issue. I'll probably be back if I have anything else that fits under their services. Received an estimate from both the manufacturer where I leased my car and an estimate from Bumper Doc- who was ordering the same bumper from the manufacturer down the street. No joke Bumper Doc charged me $400 less than the manufacturer did for literally the same bumper.
