Nice, cozy bagel and coffee spot in downtown Ithaca. We wanted a quick breakfast that was walking distance from our hotel and figured bagels and an iced coffee would do that job, and it did just that. It's a little confusing when you walk-in, as their counter is large and U-shaped, but you have to walk around to order any bagel/sandwich. All of their options are listed on a chalkboard behind the counter and there are so many different options you can choose from - breakfast sandwiches, bagel options, lunch sandwiches, and the list goes on. We got a jalapeno bagel with veggie cream cheese and an everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. Both bagels were decent - slightly dry but not too thick/chewy that it gets difficult to bite. The veggie cream cheese was super tasty - tasted more of a spread than clunky cream cheese. Their iced coffee is pretty good too. Overall a solid spot and definitely work stopping in for a quick bite. read more

I've been here a million times but Im finally writing a review. The food is really good; great variety. just wished the eating area wasn't so cramped and wished the staff there weren't so snooty. read more

Pathetic. Bagels are tiny and even when fresh taste like cardboard. Took 40 minutes to get a few bagels with spread. They out so little of spread you saw through it. In NYC this place would be out of business in a day. Sad imitation for a bagel store. Oh, and egg sandwiches from powdered eggs? Seriously? read more

Best bagel shop I have ever been to, hands down. I feel a little guilty, however, that I judge it as such without ever having tried a bagel here. At any rate, the sandwich options are endless and every single one is cut-me-off-at-the-knees-and-call-me-shorty good. After about 75 and a half minutes of looking at the awe-inspiring menu chalked up behind the counter, I finally decided and ordered from the friendliest little Ithaca hipster I could ever imagine. Minutes later, I was chowing down and thinking of ways to efficiently get this food daily in Philadelphia. Although that thought train didn't really leave the station, I know it will chug along through my brain again as soon as I'm hungry. Also, I'm wowed by how fast the line moves and how quickly an order is fulfilled! They've got a good system. PS - for breakfast, I recommend the Huevos Sonora wrap. YUM. read more

Downtown Ithaca Commons branch of the popular Collegetown Bagels on College Ave. Conveniently located on the corner behind the major bus stops on Seneca. Medium size shop with quick friendly service, same offerings. The menu loops along the walls behind the cashier so you might have to walk between the two rooms to see all of it. The left room has the menu containing sandwiches and bagels. There's not much to see around here but if you need to get some studying done, there's WiFi as well and plenty of seats in the main room and a few tables outside. Coffee is cheap and decent, they use Cayuga coffee. The Eco Mug deal they have going on is tempting.. around $140, I think it's less now, for a year's worth of unlimited coffee, soda refills. They also have smoothies for $5 here, ice cream, and sundaes as well. Will be back soon to try their food since its in conjunction with Ithaca Bakery. read more

Haven't been here in years and nothing has changed, they're still awesome. Long line but fast service and food comes out quickly. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on THE best GF bagel, I actually liked it better than a regular bagel. Soup special of a roasted red pepper corn chowder tasted awesome. Coffee was meh but I think all coffee in Ithaca is meh. One single bathroom so go get in line before it's an emergency. Ate outside on the sidewalk & people watched & enjoyed the weather. read more

Nothing special about their bagels. Also ordered a tuscan verde sandwich (chicken and pesto). Chicken was dry and needed some seasoning. Save money and make your own sandwich. read more

First time at CTB and it was at their new location. So so good! So many healthy and vegetarian choices. It was nice to see a section called vegetarian/vegan on their board. I feel most places just feature those items on the last page of their menu. It's a local spot that felt cozy but not small. Great coffee drinks! read more

So the upsides here are really good bagels. Rosemary salt and the California are both fantastic. The coffee is decent. Lots of vegetarian options. Some vegan options. They give you the ability to recycle AND compost at the trash collection area (are you reading this PANERA BREAD?). Tables for eating outside on nice weather days. Toys and books inside for the littlest customers. It's a yummy place to eat, toasty warm in the winter. The downsides are: - Staff attitude. Apathetic hipster is the emotion du jour at CB. It's annoying, especially when you go fairly often. look, I don't expect you to memorize my order or even recognize me, but when it feels like you'd rather be anywhere other than taking my order or money, it makes me wish I'd taken myself elsewhere. - No vegan chicken salad here!?! They have it at the Collegetown location but not here. WHY NOT? - A little on the expensive side, but hey, it's Ithaca. read more

Great bagels, specialty sandwiches and specialty drinks. We will be taking a dozen bagels home for sure.

A classic! Perfect for college town eats and caffe. The avocado toast is pretty good and the caffes are excellent. The space is for meeting friends and hanging out. It gets a little cramped so be ready to wait in line and wait to find table space. read more

My BF and I were recommended this place during a road trip upstate recently. Having feasted primarily on truck stop snacks and fast food, I was in dire need of some REAL and somewhat healthy fare. He had an Everything or Long Island Bagel and I had the plain. We both opted for this bacon-scallion cream cheese that they had and it was TO DIE FOR! I really regret not buying some to take home. I truly loved it. We also shared cauliflower-cheese soup that was light but rich in flavor. They had a pretty large selection of everything bagel and breakfast related including sandwiches and baked goods. i wanted it all! We bought a deli sandwich for the ride home and it didn't disappoint either. I also appreciate any establishment that truly does their part for the environment, even if it does seem like a trendy thing to do these days. Definitely the best bagel shop that I have been to so far on the east coast. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Ithaca. read more

Line situation was a bit hectic, but otherwise very good. Family enjoyed the Nova Lox on an everything bagel, scrambled eggs and avocado toast, and I had the BLT. It had really great balance with crunchy bacon but also avocado. Overall a good place to grab food! read more

BEST LATTE I'VE EVER HAD! Large space with plenty of seating. Seemed like many of the patrons knew each other, which added to the friendly atmosphere. I was greeted with a huge chalkboard of numerous options for breakfast/ lunch bagels and sandwiches. The bagels/ sandwiches are made to order, warm and delicious. The bagels are a little smaller than what I'm used to, but they are too doughy. When toasted, the outside is crispy and delicious. Great place for breakfast and lunch. read more

Go early to this location cause they don't make them there, they run out and you get crusty, dry bagelrocks.

Absolutely delicious food and coffee! I had the Mona Lisa panini and the Raspberry Jalapeno jam on it was truly amazing. I also got a Red Eye coffee with hot milk. Delicious. If we were grom the area, we would definitely go back. Price was a touch more than I was expecting. I went with my girlfriend, and 2 sandwiches (about $10 each) a coffee ($3) and a tea ($3) and our bill was almost $33, so I guess tax and tip? Anyway, it was delicious! read more

This place seemed cool - the reviews of the CTB mothership in Ithaca are all glowing, there was a huuuuuge menu of bagel sandwiches and tasty treats to choose from, and they had ample seating. On the whole, I think this place is doing its food and drinks the right way. The only main, gigantic, kind of momentous problem was that we came here for a quick meeting after a 2 hour drive from Pennsylvania that morning. We got up at 615 am and on the road shooting for a 845 meetup. In order for me to focus on driving and get my butt in gear at 615 AM I need ~at least~ 2 cups of coffee. After racing up the interstate and parking outside Collegetown bagels, I hustled inside needing BADLY to relieve myself before we sat down for our hour meeting only to be greeted with a "restroom out of service - sorry! :)" sign on the door. That was NOT cool. I leg tapped and knee squirmed my way through our hour long meeting unable to have any additional beverages before we raced out to the car and hit up a gas station for me to not explode. The moral of the story is that your bagels may be delicious, your cream cheese light and fluffy, and your cappucinos made with the expert barista care - but if you don't have a working toilet, that could be a dealbreaker. read more

I'm not sure why my previous review has disappeared. To sum it up if you like to pay top dollar for your eggs microwaved in plastic, coffee that tastes burnt, staff members with bad personal hygiene. Long messy greasy hair not secured back buy anything dangling over your food and open soars on there face. Then this is the place for you to waste your time money and appetite. read more

Meh. Pricey mediocre food. Wraps are only okay. Bagels slightly better. Can't recommend as anything more than an emergency breakfast stop. read more

I agree with others that this is the best place in town to get bagels. Often crowded, but the line moves quickly. Nice deli sandwiches and vegan/vegetarian options, and of course all your favorite hot drinks and delicious desserts. read more

Place was Packed. Super crowded. The chalkboard menu gave us so many many options about things to eat. I had a Dewitt Melt, with tomato, coleslaw and cheese on a Bialy. I've never had a Bialy before, and it was pretty tasty toasted. However the sandwich itself could have used a little more crunch in the coleslaw department. The bf had a Jackhammer and he definitely used his fingers to pick up chicken salad that had fallen out of the sandwich. read more

Freshness, friendly & fast service and healthy options galore = perfect cafe in the heart of downtown Ithaca. The turkey pesto sandwich is amazing! Cool place reminded me of college, we had the lox bagel it was just okay lots of lox and not other ingredients really could be more balanced or was maybe made wrong. My wife had the roundhouse, but it was missing the hash brown. But congrats on staying open and in business! read more

4.5 stars. Sorry, I just can't give it a full 5 stars :( When I was picking colleges, I was told that if I chose one not in the New York City/New Jersey area that I wouldn't have good bagels for four years. Well it's a good thing I picked Ithaca College because we had Collegetown Bagels with excellent bagels! Very fresh and a wide variety of bagels and then the types of spreads and sandwiches were very creative and yummy! The only downside and really did effect it was sometimes the service was very slow when I was the hungriest and often a little pricey. YUMMY BAGELS! read more

What's not to like? Huge variety of things to order, great community feel, and good location. In my short stay in Ithaca I went here twice, once to sit for a while and once to stop by for a bagel and coffee. Not a huge place, but not cramped either. Good for short study sessions with wi-fi. I could easily imagine becoming a regular. People constantly coming and going. There was a bread sale going on so we picked up some loaves of very tasty bread. Very interesting array of fair trade chocolates and other hip things to buy and feel good about. read more

CTB offers good coffee, tasty sandwiches in every possible combination and free wifi. If that wasn't enough, they also sell beer by the pint or pitcher. It's pretty awesome. Seriously, the worst part of CTB is everyone constantly talking about how awesome CTB is. We get it. read more

As a sandwich shop, it's probably good. But it's not a bagel shop. It's a college sandwich shop that happens to use "bagels," but they're not like actual NYC-style bagels or anything special like that. Rugelach and whitefish salad aren't anything special either. read more

It's everything you want in a bagel and coffee and more! Solid, solid breakfast sandwich goodness

Yea, I used to eat here all the time like any other Cornell student. Until one day I got the Mexican bagel, full of gooey, yummy cheesiness. I took one bite and pulled out one very long, blonde hair. String gooey cheese, it was not. Let's just say I never got another bagel from CTB again and I can't remember eating a bagel since. *My guess: CTB hires one or two to handle all bagel preparations for big crowds. These workers seem to be students, and they don't wear hairnets. read more

Who needs a Starbucks or other coffee/breakfast place when you have collegetown bagels. Stopped down here after a Cortaca Game (Go Cortland) and grabbed some much needed breakfast. Delicious bagels similar more to what you'd find in NYC. Great selection of sandwiches too. Highly recommend the BBQ Jack with roast beef and jack cheese. Overall I'll be back! Stop in if your cruising through Ithaca and grab a sandwich for the road at least. You will not be disappointed! read more

Ithaca recently served as my family's base of operations as we explored the area's lakes and gorges. We stayed downtown near the Commons and CTB was right at our doorstep. Every morning started with a delicious bagel breakfast sandwich and they did not disappoint. Bonus points for the online ordering system that assured that our food was ready as soon as we walked in the door. Recommendations: Get the Roundhouse or anything on a rosemary salt bagel! Yum! read more

Good, quick service. Cool place. Ordered a Rueben panini - just fine, nothing amazing.

Easily the most overrated place in Ithaca. Rude staff and mediocre food which tastes premade and reheated. Just look at the desert case, looks like everything's been sitting out for 2 days. Would gladly take my business elsewhere but there are not many decent places to eat in this town. read more

Decent food, no complaints about their quality. I stop here on occasion because it's on the way to work. I'm not a bagel connoisseur by any means, I usually just get a breakfast wrap and maybe a coffee to-go. But damn, it's really expensive. There's something traumatic about paying more than $5 for a breakfast sandwich, and they have very few options with cheese under that. For breakfast, you'd do better to hit up Hal's Deli down the street. read more

This was just my first visit, and I just ordered one bagel (Oh, and I got an inexpensive baguette too.), but I see myself being a weekly regular. My toasted rosemary and salt was ready for pick-up way quicker than the long line suggested. When I got home, it was still warm, it was crunchy but soft in all the right places, and it was flavorful without anything on it. Thumbs up! read more

Clearly the people who eat at this bagel shop and think that it's great have never had a bagel from New York. No chew. Surly service. Fail
