Haven't been here in years and nothing has changed, they're still awesome. Long line but fast service and food comes out quickly. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on THE best GF bagel, I actually liked it better than a regular bagel. Soup special of a roasted red pepper corn chowder tasted awesome. Coffee was meh but I think all coffee in Ithaca is meh. One single bathroom so go get in line before it's an emergency. Ate outside on the sidewalk & people watched & enjoyed the weather. read more

Best bagel shop I have ever been to, hands down. I feel a little guilty, however, that I judge it as such without ever having tried a bagel here. At any rate, the sandwich options are endless and every single one is cut-me-off-at-the-knees-and-call-me-shorty good. After about 75 and a half minutes of looking at the awe-inspiring menu chalked up behind the counter, I finally decided and ordered from the friendliest little Ithaca hipster I could ever imagine. Minutes later, I was chowing down and thinking of ways to efficiently get this food daily in Philadelphia. Although that thought train didn't really leave the station, I know it will chug along through my brain again as soon as I'm hungry. Line situation was a bit hectic, but otherwise very good. Family enjoyed the Nova Lox on an everything bagel, scrambled eggs and avocado toast, and I had the BLT. It had really great balance with crunchy bacon but also avocado. Overall a good place to grab food! read more

Downtown Ithaca Commons branch of the popular Collegetown Bagels on College Ave. Conveniently located on the corner behind the major bus stops on Seneca. Medium size shop with quick friendly service, same offerings. The menu loops along the walls behind the cashier so you might have to walk between the two rooms to see all of it. The left room has the menu containing sandwiches and bagels. There's not much to see around here but if you need to get some studying done, there's WiFi as well and plenty of seats in the main room and a few tables outside. Coffee is cheap and decent, they use Cayuga coffee. The Eco Mug deal they have going on is tempting.. around $140, I think it's less now, for a year's worth of unlimited coffee, soda refills. They also have smoothies for $5 here, ice cream, and sundaes as well. Will be back soon to try their food since its in conjunction with Ithaca Bakery. read more

Absolutely delicious food and coffee! I had the Mona Lisa panini and the Raspberry Jalapeno jam on it was truly amazing. I also got a Red Eye coffee with hot milk. Delicious. If we were grom the area, we would definitely go back. Price was a touch more than I was expecting. So the upsides here are really good bagels. Rosemary salt and the California are both fantastic. The coffee is decent. Lots of vegetarian options. Some vegan options. They give you the ability to recycle AND compost at the trash collection area (are you reading this PANERA BREAD?). Tables for eating outside on nice weather days. Toys and books inside for the littlest customers. It's a yummy place to eat, toasty warm in the winter. The downsides are: - Staff attitude. Apathetic hipster is the emotion du jour at CB. It's annoying, especially when you go fairly often. look, I don't expect you to memorize my order or even recognize me, but when it feels like you'd rather be anywhere other than taking my order or money, it makes me wish I'd taken myself elsewhere. - No vegan chicken salad here!?! Cool place reminded me of college, we had the lox bagel it was just okay lots of lox and not other ingredients really could be more balanced or was maybe made wrong. My wife had the roundhouse, but it was missing the hash brown. But congrats on staying open and in business! read more

My BF and I were recommended this place during a road trip upstate recently. Having feasted primarily on truck stop snacks and fast food, I was in dire need of some REAL and somewhat healthy fare. He had an Everything or Long Island Bagel and I had the plain. We both opted for this bacon-scallion cream cheese that they had and it was TO DIE FOR! I really regret not buying some to take home. I truly loved it. We also shared cauliflower-cheese soup that was light but rich in flavor. They had a pretty large selection of everything bagel and breakfast related including sandwiches and baked goods. i wanted it all! We bought a deli sandwich for the ride home and it didn't disappoint either. I also appreciate any establishment that truly does their part for the environment, even if it does seem like a trendy thing to do these days. Definitely the best bagel shop that I have been to so far on the east coast. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Ithaca. read more

BEST LATTE I'VE EVER HAD! Large space with plenty of seating. Seemed like many of the patrons knew each other, which added to the friendly atmosphere. I was greeted with a huge chalkboard of numerous options for breakfast/ lunch bagels and sandwiches. The bagels/ sandwiches are made to order, warm and delicious. This place seemed cool - the reviews of the CTB mothership in Ithaca are all glowing, there was a huuuuuge menu of bagel sandwiches and tasty treats to choose from, and they had ample seating. On the whole, I think this place is doing its food and drinks the right way. The only main, gigantic, kind of momentous problem was that we came here for a quick meeting after a 2 hour drive from Pennsylvania that morning. We got up at 615 am and on the road shooting for a 845 meetup. In order for me to focus on driving and get my butt in gear at 615 AM I need ~at least~ 2 cups of coffee. After racing up the interstate and parking outside Collegetown bagels, I hustled inside needing BADLY to relieve myself before we sat down for our hour meeting only to be greeted with a "restroom out of service - sorry! :)" sign on the door. That was NOT cool. I leg tapped and knee squirmed my way through our hour long meeting unable to have any additional beverages before we raced out to the car and hit up a gas station for me to not explode. The moral of the story is that your bagels may be delicious, your cream cheese light and fluffy, and your cappucinos made with the expert barista care - but if you don't have a working toilet, that could be a dealbreaker. read more

Place was Packed. Super crowded. The chalkboard menu gave us so many many options about things to eat. I had a Dewitt Melt, with tomato, coleslaw and cheese on a Bialy. I've never had a Bialy before, and it was pretty tasty toasted. However the sandwich itself could have used a little more crunch in the coleslaw department. The bf had a Jackhammer and he definitely used his fingers to pick up chicken salad that had fallen out of the sandwich. read more

In my short stay in Ithaca I went here twice, once to sit for a while and once to stop by for a bagel and coffee. Not a huge place, but not cramped either. Good for short study sessions with wi-fi. I could easily imagine becoming a regular. People constantly coming and going. There was a bread sale going on so we picked up some loaves of very tasty bread. Yea, I used to eat here all the time like any other Cornell student. Until one day I got the Mexican bagel, full of gooey, yummy cheesiness. I took one bite and pulled out one very long, blonde hair. String gooey cheese, it was not. Ithaca recently served as my family's base of operations as we explored the area's lakes and gorges. We stayed downtown near the Commons and CTB was right at our doorstep. Every morning started with a delicious bagel breakfast sandwich and they did not disappoint. Delicious bagels similar more to what you'd find in NYC. Great selection of sandwiches too. Highly recommend the BBQ Jack with roast beef and jack cheese. Overall I'll be back! I'm not a bagel connoisseur by any means, I usually just get a breakfast wrap and maybe a coffee to-go. But damn, it's really expensive. There's something traumatic about paying more than $5 for a breakfast sandwich, and they have very few options with cheese under that. This was just my first visit, and I just ordered one bagel (Oh, and I got an inexpensive baguette too.), but I see myself being a weekly regular. My toasted rosemary and salt was ready for pick-up way quicker than the long line suggested.
