This is about Ascendion since they are owned by Collabera but have no reviews here or on Google. I found them to be very unprofessional and to this day I am not sure if I was just scammed or not... Was interviewed last July/August by several layers of folks there and also by their client who I would work with. Was told I was #1 and job would start soon... i spent a considerable amount of my $ to get back from vacation to start in September as they mentioned (we had gone back andf forth about this expected start date and I would need to go in person to verify my citizenship first). But then things fell apart and the job did not start. I would get a call from India once in a while to check on my status and that the job would start soon. blah blah blah.... This played out for months. The last i heard it would start in Jan/Feb. Now they do not responed to email (either the recruiter or her manager). I find this just very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I am new to contract work but it seems many of these firms are similar... misinformation and I am sure just trying to find the lowest cost employee. read more

Generally speaking, most recruiting companies are paid on commission and their entire business depends on filling vacant roles at companies. With that in mind, they will do anything they can to get someone hired including telling lies or bending the truth. I have talked to good recruiters that are honest and actually care about who they represent and I have talked to some of the worst recruiters out there. With that said, Collabera is below average and the fact that they have outsourced their frontline recruiting team makes it even worse. I unfortunately was contacted by Treasa Joseph about a software engineering manager position. After some conversation about the role I realized that it was for a position that I had already applied directly to the company for. I informed her that I had already applied and asked if they could still represent me. She asked her manager and said it would be fine, they could still represent me. So I jumped on a call with her (only to find out she was an offshore employee) and she basically went through the job description with me even though I already told her I applied for the position directly. So that was a waste of time but I went along with it anyway. After the call she wanted to set me up with an interview with her manager Katie Pilas. I met with Katie virtually and we discussed the role, the company, the hiring manager, the interview process, and my background. All typical things that a good recruiter would normally discuss in these types of meetings. She was professional and informative and said she wanted to get my resume in front of the hiring manager immediately. She then explained that I would need to take a technical assessment through Collabera (which they outsource that as well) before I can get an interview with the actual company. I said that was fine and scheduled it for 2 days later. Immediately after getting off that call, Treasa called me. I didn't answer as I had to get back to work at my current role. She then proceeded to call me 4 more times back-to-back, send me an email, send me a text, and several linkedin messages. I sent an email to Katie stating that it was a bit excessive and asked if she could have Treasa not try to contact me so much and that I was working. Katie quickly responded and apologized and agreed that it was a bit excessive and informed me that it would stop. So the day of the technical assessment comes around and I get 3 more phone calls from Treasa and I'm unable to answer because I'm working. She sends me a few LinkedIn messages trying to confirm that I received the invite for the technical assessment. I respond yes and she tries to call me again. After not answering, she then sends me a message on LinkedIn saying, "Hey Kevin, Since you have already applied manually, we will not have the call today at 4 CST". So I message Katie asking if they have wasted my time and wanting answers as to why the technical assessment is canceled. No response from Katie and a complete waste of my time. The moral of the story here is that unfortunately some companies only want to use recruiting firms to hire they staff and most recruiting companies are talking to several people at once and will generally waste your time. As a hiring manager myself, I would never use Collabera and avoid using any recruiting firm if possible. The lack of professionalism and the obvious retaliation for my complaint about Treasa's excessive tactics should show that Collabera does not have your best interest in mind. read more

Collabera represented me for a couple of positions during a months-long stretch of unemployment. During that time, I was working with several recruiting agencies on a number of potential roles. Due to an unintentional mixup, I ended up being submitted for the same role by two recruiting agencies. As the other agency had reached out to me first on this particular position, AND very quickly advanced my resume to the "let's talk interview schedule" stage, I was inclined to let them represent me for this role, and not Collabera. I apologized to Collabera, explaining the situation over two phone calls and an email, and they agreed to withdraw my application.   But they didn't. Instead, I'm given to understand that they threw a tantrum at the hiring manager of the company, who in turn rejected my application. (Said hiring manager, of course, has to maintain relationships with all of their recruiting agencies. While my understanding is that they liked my resume, one potential candidate for one role wasn't worth the intra-agency conflict headache. I don't blame the hiring manager at all in this context.) Bottom line: I do not trust Collabera. They lied to me, went behind my back, and cost me a promising opportunity - seemingly out of spite. While I can't say whether this is their "norm," I can attest that it is within the realm of outcomes, and that's enough for me. read more

Updated Review: During my 2 years with Collabera I witnessed a significant lack of communication with the client that I was working for (Microsoft). Be prepared for no raises, no performance reviews and an ever increasing workload. I received my certificate in the field that I was working in along with my accreditation and Collabera could not offer me any compensation to account for this. Collabera cut my checks and that was about it. I expressed many concerns regarding my feeling uncomfortable and unsafe on my team and yet Collabera could do nothing about it for fear that that would lose the account. If you are looking for a paycheck and nothing else, then this is the perfect contract agency for you. Previous review: My experience has been just ok. I would not recommend to a friend unless you are looking for a very temporary role. There's no opportunities for performance reviews, upward promotions, and you can forget about raises. You won't have PTO or benefits unless you negotiate for it by taking a lower pay rate. Employee development opportunities are provided at the employee's expense. read more

Collabera was my agent for a contract job. They were the worst company I have ever dealt with. They kept messing up my timesheet, the didn't respond to my questions and requests, and to get tech support I had to ask over and over again, or they never responded. I moved from CA to AZ, and emailed my contact that I had moved on October 6th. I saw that my address was still wrong in my profile and sent another email in November asking that it be corrected. I clearly stated my address change to Arizona was effective Oct 6th. Still they messed up my W-2 which had days I worked in Arizona still showing California. They blamed me for not telling them until November. It didn't matter that I clearly indicated I had moved 10/6. They issued a corrected W-2c but they only corrected the wages - the state taxes withheld were left blank. When I sent emails asking for a correction the person did not even read the email and gave me the same wrong answer. Lastly, 2 months before my contract was complete I asked them to search for another assignment. I never heard anything from them. They are a horrible company to have as an agent. read more

Started getting calls and emails for a job I wasn't interested in; didn't fit my profile at all, was a contract position for very little compensation. I have no idea if the job was real or not but it was pretty obvious that the recruiter didn't take the time to read my resume (Hemant Meshram). I didn't respond, I don't have time and didn't feel like I was obligated to as there was no serious effort involved, nothing to see here, move along. After a few days the calls, voicemails and emails to multiple accounts escalated to several a day for the same stupid job, all day long starting early in the morning. Each day the harassment increased to the point I had to respond to let the recruiter know I would file a complaint with the attorney general if this behavior continued. The harassment stopped after this (has only been a couple days though), but wow. How disrespectful can a business be? There is no way in heck I will ever support this behavior and neither should you. read more

My experience with this fraud of an agency pretty much mirrors everyone else's except for the obvious astroturfers. I would give negative stars if I could. These people are absolutely worthless. It all started when I got a call for a position at Microsoft. I read the job description and quickly realised that I knew the technology they were looking for backwards and forwards. The recruiter I was dealing with, Gaurav P., even went so far as to tell me that I would likely get an offer over the phone and not even have to go in for an in-person second interview. Needless to say, I was excited. When the time came for the interview, The first question the interviewer asked was whether or not I had a security clearance. I said no, I don't, I was not told that it was a requirement. At that point, he told me that he wouldn't waste my time any further. The whole process lasted about four minutes. Fortunately, I have a friend who works at Microsoft. I looked up the interviewer and found no evidence that the job opening even existed. Then asked for a copy of my resume after trying to lure me to my ex GFs work site with the PROMISE of a secure job. A gf who has wrongly and falsely accused me of stalking her at ATT which is a telecommunications international corporation. Stay as far away as possible. I believe these people are dangerous. I worked with Nikunj Sharma at Collabera. Hands down, he is the best recruiter I have ever worked with and I have worked with many. Communication was exceptional. I received a call, text or email every step of the way. I received a call and email that I had been selected for an email, then Nikunj scheduled a brief call to do a interview prep, giving me insight to what the must-haves were for this interviewer, he helped answer any questions I had on duration of project, expectations, person and title of interviewers, etc. They checked my references. (many agencies don't even ask). I received a text 15 mins before each of the two interviews I went through, a follow up call after each interview, a call and email that I received an offer of employment, and several other calls succeeding the offer. From that point I worked with Collebera's HR group, the onboarding was easy and all I worked with were professional. I have never had this level of communication. I was impressed. read more

I posted my resume on Monster, CareerBuilder, and Dice. Wow, did I get spammed by recruiters looking for SDET contractors! Sometimes multiple recruiters from Collabera called about the *same job*. In other words, they were competing with themselves. At the risk of sounding insensitive, I've got to point out that communication was often "difficult" because many of the recruiters could barely speak English. I found this to be *extremely* frustrating. Ultimately, I was placed @ Microsoft through Insight Global. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but for this I feel I should. This is for any person looking to possibly deal with Collabera. Finding a job is serious and when dealing with an agency you shouldn't be treated like a joke. You're better off staying far away from this agency. There are enough bad agencies out there but this one wins by far. If I could give this negative stars I would. I've had the misfortune of encountering Collabera on 2 separate occasions and they've both been my worst experience with an agency. It's so bad I can see why people think it's a scam. I was contacted by a Corporate Recruiter named Omed Baher in January of this year. He seemed really nice and friendly when he approached me for an internal position with their company as a recruiter. I was a bit reluctant to go to the interview considering the reviews I saw for the company AND what I dealt with the first time I worked with them a couple years back, but being unemployed you don't turn an interview down. I interviewed with their Manhattan Beach office for a guy named Suraj. About week or so after I interviewed, Omed reached out to me for a second interview. I gave him my availability but never heard anything back from him. I followed up a week after wondering what was going on. He doesn't reply so I message him again. And then he replies telling me he's waiting on Suraj's schedule for the week (the guy I interviewed with) and tells me he'll follow up with me the next day. I bet you can guess what happens next.... Yup. Never ever heard anything back from him, even though he gave me a date on when he would follow up. I understand how many people these recruiters come in contact with. But that's part of the job! You don't reach out to someone for a second interview and then ghost! Last I checked, this is a recruiting agency not Tinder! Waste of my time! On my first occasion with Collabera, I was working a job I wasn't too excited about and had nothing to do with what I studied in college. I was contacted by Gaurav Sahai from Collabera for a position with NBC. It sounded like a great opportunity. After being submitted to the position they scheduled an interview. I end up getting the position and put my notice in with my other job. I was in grad school at the time and the people interviewing me said they liked that and they would be very accommodating with my schedule should I need that. The hiring process took about 1 month, which wasn't supposed to take 1 month from what Collabera told me. They wouldn't give me an idea of a start date, my actual schedule, nothing. They basically just kept stringing me along. During that waiting period my school schedule changed; instead of my 1 day per week ONLINE class starting at 6:30, it started at 6. Never receiving a confirmation on my schedule, I reached out to Gaurav not sure how this would affect my work schedule... he then escalated it to his "supervisor" Michael Calahan. Michael Calahan reached out to me and told me I would more than likely loose my position with them. Not being give a schedule, a start date or anything I wondered how he was SO sure? The way he explained why that would be made absolutely no sense. So I became exceedingly suspicious. He calls me back and tells me they retracted their offer. I reached directly out to the ladies I interviewed with for myself to see what happened because I left my job for this company, but everyone was being super RUDE and INCONSIDERATE. Because these guys work off commission it felt like something was up. So basically I left a decent job for a made up one I was lied to about! I ended up being put out of work! And these guys did NOTHING to help! TERRIBLE AGENCY ON BOTH OCCASIONS! Stay away from them, they're heartless and extremely unprofessional! read more

I worked a project for this company in 2010 and one in 2018. Every few months I will get a call from their redeployment team asking for an updated resume with the promise to promote my resume to recruiters. That sounds good but the problem is... they never do. I see jobs posted on their site that I am more than qualified for and I never receive a call. When I reach out to recruiters to inquire about roles that fit my background, I never hear back from them. I guess they don't like the sound of my voice. I believe this company is discriminatory and only go through the motions of fulfilling some legal/diversity qualification to make it look like they are complying. The Redeployment team is a joke and don't understand that there are people in need of a real job and don't have time to play those games! read more

A lady named Aastha reached out to me to see if I was interested in a remote position. I was on vacation in WA at the time, visiting my grandbabies, as I had just moved out of state. I wanted to provide feedback as my experience was awful. It started out with her connection. The connection for our phone calls was just awful, no matter what she tried, it still was very hard to hear her and there was an echo. I thought, at first, maybe it was my reception, but it happened with me in different locations so I believe it was something on her end. There was also so much background noise, that it was very hard to hear. She asked me multiple questions that, had she taken a few moments to actually look at the information she had, she wouldn't have needed to ask. Once she found out I was interested in the position, she almost harassed me to get her the information back she was requesting. I let her know that I was with my grandchildren, and I'd forward the information as soon as I was back to my hotel. She called me, at least, four more times during my visit. I felt like she was a car salesman trying to sell me a car and to hurry up before this position passed me by because there were other candidates interested. I finally got back to my hotel and sent her the information she was requesting. It was at that point that she texted me back with exclamation points asking about my last work date, which had been a couple of years back since I had started going to school. Again, had she bothered to actually look at my resume, before reaching out, she would have seen my last date of employment and not wasted my time. I let her know that I had been in school and explained the situation and what I was looking for. She never bothered to reply, and I never heard from her again. If her (lack of) customer service is an indication of your company, I am not interested in any position that you are offering. She was clearly only interested in fulfilling the quota she needed to reach and absolutely doesn't care about the customer. read more

I understand if my resume was submitted and the client doesn't want to interview me but at least have the decency to communicate with your applicants and let them know what is going on. At this point, I've crossed Collabera off my list to work with for a recruiting firm. I've had the fortune to work as a recruiter and know the appropriate actions to take when working with candidates, don't reach out to them if you have no purpose of assisting them in finding a position. read more

On arranging a meeting, that specific recruiter was dismissed (left the company hastily) without notice to me. On arriving for the interview on time I met a gal who said she has a science degree in resume management. (Seriously. Not kidding) The account manager scheduled (I have proof) at that same time was a no show. The recruiter has absolutely no knowledge or ability to ask or respond to even the most elementary questions, all of which could have been covered on a call. They had no idea I had already submitted resume, references and right to represent. Never before have I dealt with any company or team so completely inept, uncoordinated and utterly, totally, wholly useless, amateur and incompetent. I'm glad I read enough reviews to discover that I'm not the only person that finds this company unbelievably unprofessional. I was contacted 3 to 4 weeks ago about a position. Was told I would be contacted the following Monday to set up a time to come in. They never called. This repeated again a few days ago, on a Friday. This time they did set a time to meet at Collabera (for Monday), promising to send the details with directions. This information was never sent before the interview. So I cancelled. This interview was for the exact same position that they'd contacted me about weeks prior. The person had no idea that she had already called me about this position, or that they had blown me off the first time. Both times they requested/expected me to provide all references in advance, and wanted to call them before the "initial meeting at Collabera," which might have been okay if I actually thought they were professional or even organized with their recruitment processes. I really began to wonder if these folks were a recruitment company or something else under the same name. Many folks here and there rate Collabera as a "scam", "the worst", etc. Well, turns out that is all true. The only thing I can add is BEWARE of potential identity fraud involving your Social Security number. When do we usually reveal our full SS#? After we have accepted an offer and are going through the HR hiring process. The Collabera guys (in my case Dushanta Thounaojam, Abhishek Tiwary and Purnendu Shahapurkar) aggressively requested ALL 9 digits of my Social Security even before submitting my resume to the client. I refused to give it them, and after multiple attempts/conversations they said "we would need to go through many levels of our management to make an exception for you". They came back and said "it was extremely difficult, but we did this huge favor for you, so you need give your SS#" before the interview, then after interview, etc. etc. Thinking this was a real interview, I came to a major bank on Hudson street in Jersey City as instructed, but no one was expecting me; I was not entered into the system by "the interviewers". I called Dushanta Thounaojam to say that no one knew I was coming; I guess he then contacted someone inside to arrange my pass, and after 30-35 minutes I got upstairs. (By the way, they said that somebody from Collabera would meet me in the lobby and would walk me in, but that did not happen.) HOWEVER(!), someone (Rajesh or smth like that) met me upstairs and said that was his only job. I think he must be one of Dushanta and Abhishek's friends who works there. He was probably not from Collabera, but an insider they knew before. Dushanta Thounaojam and Abhishek Tiwary provided the names of interviewers, but 2 of them were not in the office and the 3rd one, named Ravi, acted like I was not expected/welcome. He briefly talked with me, then said that another guy, Jaikanth, would talk to me on the phone. After him, Ravi brought another guy - let's call him Mike - who was friendly, even though he said that he is NOT from that team at all, and was just asked by Ravi to talk to me. At the end of my conversation with him I told him that Collabera guys tried to get ALL 9 digits of my SS#, saying that it is a requirement by the Bank to provide a full SS# of the interviewed candidates. Mike said this was not true and he would never reveal his own SS# at this stage. And when I asked him what was his opinion of Collabera, and whether he hires consultants for his team from Collabera, he replied "Oh, no! I am not of a good opinion of Collabera, and I only deal with other staffing agencies." Summarizing for those who did not want to read my entire story: DO NOT DEAL WITH COLLABERA; DO NOT PROVIDE YOUR FULL SOCIAL SECURITY # UNTIL GOING THROUGH HR AND GETTING HIRED BY A R E S P E C T E D ON-SHORE AGENCY. I hope this does not apply to the on-shore Collabera recruiters; based on my experience, my warning only pertains to the offshore Collabera staff. You can only guess what they do with the solicited SS#'s. Many of you may have already heard about what's going on with the offshore related IT (and maybe not only IT) business here in US. I've spoken to and worked with a number of recruiting firms. This was by far the most disappointing and unprofessional experience. I received an email from a Collabera recruiter regarding a few Seattle-based contract to hire positions, with one being a better fit than the others. I responded asking if she'd like to set up a time to chat in more detail. She called me immediately (this is when my hesitation started). It sounded like a call-center in the background and she rattled off a few questions and other minimal detail at about 100 miles per hour and didn't seem overly interested in whether I really was a good fit or not. Although I was irritated at how unprofessional the call felt, I was interested in the position and she indicated she would send me an email with a few pre-screening questions to send to the client. I agreed and she then asked if I could have my answers back within the hour. Really? No. I didn't agree to that but said I'd try by end of day. The call lasted not even 10 minutes. I received the email from her immediately. There were some pre-screen questions, but they were also looking for last 4 digits of my social, a Word version of my resume and a couple of references and consent from me to be represented by Collabera...all after speaking with me less than 10 minutes. I wasn't interested in providing my social info with so little discussion, I wasn't about to provide a Word doc of my resume at that point so they can make updates without my knowledge and I'm certainly not providing references at that point for fear my references, who are super important to my search, have the same experience I did. No way. My reputation is way more important to me than to risk this. I returned her note , thanking her, but passing on the opportunity and explaining my hesitation about the process. She did respond, offering me to come in person to meet, said that her client moves quickly (that may be, but if that's the case I can't see that they are all that interested in a good fit either). Most recruiters I work with are interested in meeting in person (or at least having more extensive discussion) as they are truly interested in ensuring they are providing a good fit for their clients. I'm looking for a senior level manager or director position (not that any of that should matter one bit) and this was by far the worst experience I've had with a recruiter to date. With that said, I attribute this process as one that comes from the top down and in that case, I'm not interested. First impressions are everything. read more

I have a similar story to Andrew G. Once a week, for four weeks in a row, a Collabera recruiter would send me an e-mail about contract positions, and usually about SDET positions. I politely told the first two that I was not interested in either. By the time the fourth one came along, I lost my patience. I have told them to put me on my do-not-contact list. Yet, I'm still receiving e-mails from them. Thus, this poor rating. By the way, each of the three times I had politely told them what I was looking for, I did not get a reply. It's usually good manners for a recruiter to reply, even in the case where they just say that they don't specialize in full-employment positions. These recruiters don't do that. I believe it's because they are basically telemarketers, spamming everybody in the hopes of making a sale. Since they clearly don't care about their prospective candidates, you should avoid them. Go with a recruiter that will extend at least some common courtesy. It's not like Collabera has any positions that aren't out there via other recruiters or directly from company websites. read more

I have been inundated with emails & phone calls from scammers for the past 2 weeks claiming to be recruiters. saying they found my info online (monster or career builder) even though i do NOT have any public profiles on those sites!! In just one week i received 5 phone calls from recruiters claiming to be from THIS company. Each time i told them i DO NOT want to be contacted & DO NOT contact me again. Then i would receive another call. Their english was broken & extremely difficult to understand. Finally i called one who sent me an email named Mitali Sharma. She didn't answer her phone with a professional greeting like any legit professional recruiter would. She only said "hello". I played along with her asking about the job & she asked if i was in Colorado or California. Then said those are the only locations for the job shes working on however, her email stated the job was in redmond, WA for Microsoft? Hmmmm?? Fishy?!! I asked how/she obtained my contact info & once again she said monster or careerbuilder or i must have applied to their website which I certainly have NOT!! I told her if they do not stop contacting me i WILL report them to the Federal trade commission! She kept saying shes not a scam then said i should talk to her boss, in the background she said tp someone "will you talk to her" then a male voice came on the line. He kept saying they are not a scam. I reiterated to him that I WILL report them to the FTC if they don't stop with the calls/emails & hung up! Im sick of all these scammers!!
