Purchased a birthday cake for my son. He REALLY loved it! It is ideal to have the cake and ice cream made together. And is really cool to be able to put your own spin on it and add your own ideas as far as decorating and ingredients. I don't know why I hadn't looked into doing this sooner but I will continue to purchase these cake for my special occasions it was definitely fresh and delicious. There is always room for Coldstone ice cream!!!! If you read my reviews you know how much I enjoy good customer service and I had to share my experience at this location!! After dinner, on my way back I noticed some lights from the street and recognized that it was a coldstone. Tampa is uber-muggy at times and nothing sounded better than some strawberry blonde ice cream! One thing I noticed while standing in line (on a Tuesday night!) was that this location had a slick display of cakes-most places just keep them in the freezer- I might come back and buy one to share with colleagues soon. The staff was super pleasant, singing their songs and quickly getting customers ice cream. What really separates this location was I happened to sit next to the owner, who couldn't have been a nicer gentleman. This review is highly influenced on the chocolate milkshake that I had. I had eaten at a Cold Stone Creamery in the past, and found the ice cream to be excellent and the concept to be interesting. The "large" chocolate milkshake I ordered tasted just okay, less than one you would get from McDonald's, Burger King, or Campbell's Dairy Isle, but not as thick or flavorful. The kicker was that the large version was in a plastic cup about 6 inches tall and cost a bit over $6. There were two young ladies working the store when I was there shortly after opening. They were friendly and attentive. Offering a different experience for this type of establishment, I found the prices to be excessive for what was provided. read more

I love cold stone and I hate to give a negative review. I usually frequent a few of there local stores. Today I went to the Valrico location which is closest to my house. It wasn't too busy and the staff as always was super friendly. I ordered two scoops of pistachio and one of cheesecake. Not mixed but separate scoops in the container.. so I notice as that as they are working the ice cream on the cold table that there are zero nuts in it.. huh? Not one speck of a pistachio.. I asked can I have some of the pistachio topping worked into it- they said they don't have them... ok? Hmmm.. So i figure as always the ice cream will still taste great.. so I thought.. The one scoop of cheesecake was good (no cheesecake pieces). But still good. The pistachio? Well that's where my negative review comes in.... the fluorescent green ice cream tasted 100% artificial and had a liquor aftertaste.. like it's flavored with something like a baking extract with an alcohol base.. not pleasant at all.. I also noticed that the pistachio ice cream was leaving a thick waxy coating all over my mouth.. literally like candle wax.. I washed the remainder down my kitchen drain.. I love the staff.. hated the experience.. and I've had to brush 3 times to rid my mouth of the waxy grease in my mouth.. Sorry guys you blew it with me.. read more

The ice cream is very good. The price point for me is a little high and their customer service leaves a bad taste overall. On this particular visit, I attempted to call ahead to minimize wait time. The employee who answered the phone refused to take my order for pickup because they were too busy (25 minutes later, there was no line and 3 people working at 7:00 on a Sunday). It took an extra 10 minutes and they were attentive, however, customer service didn't seem to be their strong suit. Everything was prepared correctly and the entire staff was polite during the visit. Once we arrived, I called the phone number on the website to let them know we're here to pick it up. The guy on the phone told me "we'll bring it out once it's done if it's not TOO RAINY". It was sprinkling, not even raining. Even then I felt bad and was planing to give a cash tip once they brought it out (there wasn't a tip option online for curbside). Tonight no such luck. I ordered vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, strawberries and vanilla cake....4 total items. I didn't want it folded instead just put on like a sundae. My husbands was a little more complicated but nothing crazy, flavored ice cream and 3 toppings.....she gave him plain ice cream not a single topping. The young lady named Madison, I believe, took my order as she was complaining that there was a line right before the store was about to close. This is very unprofessional in my opinion to say that in front of customers. While taking my order she had a terrible attitude and was rushing others and myself out of the store.
