I've always had great experiences at Cold Stone, which is why this visit was so disappointing. We came in yesterday and asked if we could get the Dubai ice cream with half banana ice cream. The employee told us no, saying corporate doesn't allow that, but that we could add things on. So I said okay, can we just add banana ice cream then? She again said no, only toppings could be added. Because of that, we ended up ordering the Dubai ice cream and a separate banana ice cream. When we got them, the banana portion was noticeably smaller compared to the Dubai ones, even though we ordered the same size. When I politely asked why the banana ice cream was less, the shift lead, Sydney, said "I don't know, I don't know what was ordered," and walked away while I was still mid-sentence. That felt extremely rude and dismissive. We then spoke to another employee at the register, Mika, who was very kind and helpful--he offered to add more banana ice cream to make it right, which I really appreciated. Thank you, Mika! While we were sitting and eating, I also noticed Sydney being rude to other customers for no reason, which made the whole experience even more uncomfortable. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told there wasn't one on site and that Sydney was the shift lead. At that point, I declined and decided to leave this review instead. This is the first time I've ever had such a negative experience here. I'm hoping this was just a one-off, but the customer service from that employee really needs improvement. read more

I made an order at 8:30 am this morning for delivery for a ice cream taco and another ice cream. It was supposed to be delivered at 12:15. I had surgery and can't drive, otherwise I would have picked it up when they opened. At 12:15 I got a message that my order was cancelled. No explanation, just a text that it was cancelled and to call the store. I called the store and was told very rudely and abruptly that the ice cream taco was sold out. I ordered at 8:30! It was only one taco. They obviously didn't make the orders first in first. My fault for thinking they'd honor the orders that were there first! We visited this Cold Stone last Saturday 11/4 around 7:50-8:30pm. It was a long line however it was a Saturday night so we had no issues waiting! Upon arrival we were greeted even though the place was packed. All employees were helping all of the waiting customers. There was one lady who was verbally attacking the staff with her family but the employees all remained calm and professional. I felt like no matter what solution they offered the lady it just wasn't good enough for her. I felt bad for the employees having to deal with an adult throwing a temper tantrum while they were so busy like that. There was also a separate line for online orders and door dashers! One man arrived exactly one minute before we entered the store and was so rude to the staff about how his order wasn't ready yet. He was like "I've been waiting for a whole two minutes what's taking so long" and kept showing his phone to all employees. Not sure why he is a door dasher if he lacks patience. Anyways, again employees remained professional and continued greeting new people upon arrival. Finally it was our turn! We ordered two customized ice creams which were fully packed and had a good amount of mix ins, the gentlemen helping us was extremely friendly and so was the young lady. They both asked us how our night is going and were extremely friendly! We sat down inside the shop and had our icecream! The tables were clean even though the were busy and they had good family music playing in the background. Overall I would rate our experience a 10/10. There's a guy named Brainley or something similar very very patient with kids I noticed it with the family before me and he did the exact same with my 4 young kids who are extremely impatient to grab dessert and they all want a topping and he was so so kind. Before I left today I told him I had to do a survey on him and hope someone reads this and lets him know please keep up the good work. I go through moments of being so addicted to Ice Cream. This has been the summer of Ice Cream for me. Cold Stone never disappoints. I am a huge fan of being able to order online and bypass the line of people waiting to order at the store. There is nothing as good as walking up to the cashier to pick up my package of Ice Cream. The app makes it too easy for me to make an order and pick it up but I will not complain. The staff has always been attentive and helpful. I haven't found my favorite mix. It's 105 degrees today in Vacaville and we came to cold stone for some relief and a cold treat. There are 5 employees behind the counter and only 2 of them on the ice slab? After 30 minutes I finally asked one of the girls, why weren't the others helping this super long line? She advised that they were training. I witnessed at least 3 groups of people walk out because of the wait. The place was packed, at least 15 people in line and yet, they're "training"?! When I got to the front to pay for our ice cream, I asked the girl, Keona, if she was the manager as she was the one training the other employee. She said she was a shift lead. I asked her why she wasn't helping the line? She advised that she couldn't have the trainee just sitting there doing nothing. But you can have me waiting for 45 mins?! Cut the line down and then pick back up with training girl! Make it make sense! I told her that it's super frustrating as a customer to see only 2 people working and that today was a bad customer experience. She apologized and advised that she called everyone in and that her manager messed up on the scheduling for today. And that may be so, but you as the shift lead should have owned the fact that your customers were waiting way too long. We come first. Let that trainee jump in there. On the job training is the best way to learn. Also, Keona, professional tip - never throw your leadership under the bus. You represent cold stone so you are all one. I hope your manager reads this because if anything, today's experience is a direct reflection of how they trained you. They got to do better. Shout out to the two ladies working their hearts out. Staff was so rude, the three girls working were too busy making fun of customers after they left about how they were standing in the wrong place for "too long" and complaining about how many of a certain ice cream they had to make all day. We waited about 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged while we're listening to this. There was 1 set of customers in front of us that was already being helped so there wasn't a huge line. By the time it gets to our turn, I told her I wanted a cone, she gave me a cup... I wasn't going to fight her on it due to the experience we already had. She practically slammed my cup of ice cream on the counter and said "HERE" and then proceeded to help my boyfriend. Mind you we have both worked in customer service, we know how it is dealing with the public. CAKES!! Their cakes are bomb!!!!! I really wanted to give a shout out to the staff who were on point when I said I wanted decorations for a unicorn theme. I'm a regular at the Fairfield location. I always get the cookie doughn't you want some with 3/4 of their cookie dough disk by request. I find the ratio of cream to dough much better. Anyways, Annie served me around 8 pm on Veterans Day and for some reason she was mad I asked that. So what did she do?! With her passive aggressive attitude she happily agrees to just put in 3/4 of the dough but then continues to add 5x more syrup and double the usual chocolate chips. Did I try it? Yes. Was it good? Nope! The cashier who rung me up was kind and friendly. I came back in to get a refund and the another girl offered a remake. I just wanted a refund. My husband got coffee ice cream mixed with roasted almonds. He got a small, I got a kids size which is served in the same sized cup but costs half as much.
