Went on a Friday night and it was packed with a long line the staff did a great job moving the line quickly. Ice cream is very good with tons of options for flavors and toppings. I have been to Cold Stone many times over the years since they started popping up around the area in southeastern PA. It was always interesting to me that you could get pretty much whatever you wanted out into ice cream and then have it folded in to make any kind of ice cream that you like. Essentially custom ice creams that could be totally unique; even unheard of before. Then, as time is apt to do, this stopped becoming a place that was increasingly exciting, as they opened more of them and you started to see them all over the place. Once it becomes commonplace, it just comes a good place to go instead of somewhere unique that you remember for its special brand of product. That was until recently..... After seeing a video online, it was made clear to me that Cold Stone had resurrected its very own version of the beloved ChocoTaco and obviously as soon as I saw it, the inevitable outcome was that I was going to get one as soon as possible. When we arrived and spoke to the people behind the counter, who were extremely nice and helpful by the way, we learned that the tacos are premade and in the freezer for easy pickup. Now, I thought that they made them right there in front of you but as I thought about it after we had made our purchase and were driving home, it made a ton of sense because of how cold they need to stay to keep shape and be right. The "choco taco" was okay; just okay. I think I may have been too hyped about it because of how much I loved the OGs. It was still sweet and yummy and chocolate covered with sprinkles and full of ice cream, but there was something that was missing that I simply couldn't place my finger on. I would definitely have another at some time in the future, but likely would not go out of my way to find it. Great selection of combinations or you can choose your own ice cream flavor, mix-ins and sauces and toppings. We tried: Founder's Favorite, which had sweet cream ice cream, pecans, brownie, caramel and fudge. Reese's Peanut Butter Awesome Sauce, which had sweet cream ice cream, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Reese's Peanut Butter sauce. Both were really good and we had leftovers. Came here for classic cold stone icecream and I'm very disappointed. Cold stone advertises their "artic blast" service where they freeze it somehow so it is colder if you are traveling farther home and won't melt. When I mentioned it to the employee he looked dumbfounded and looked to his coworkers for confirmation that they do not do it. Then proceeded to make every possible excuse not to offer the service. Eventually I was able to talk him into doing whatever he could so my drive home won't end up with melted icecream. I'm pretty sure he just wrapped this up with saran wrap and threw it in a refrigerator or freezer. I should have checked the bag before leaving but I assumed he did his job correctly. Lesson learned. Will not be returning here ever again and would encourage others to seek another branch. read more

Pulled up after a rough night for a late night snack. 2 girls outside eating, customers inside (about 3) with 1 waiting to order. Immediately was asked "do you have a pickup order"? To which I answered "no". 2 girls in the front said "sorry we're closed". I proceed to look around and see customers still waiting to order. I asked "what time do you close"? They answered "10". I said "I walked in at "9:59 and you have customers in line". They reiterated " we're closed". I said I will be writing a negative review online for this experience. I went to springfield branch and the girl that served me on 8/24/23 around closing time was obviously new and there were 2 big holos in my cup all the way down to the bottom I commented lightly on it, and she spoke to her manger standing beside her what she should do? the manager came with no name tag a black young guy with braided hair, very rude, approached with folded arms and told me "men that is our portion size, do you want it or you want to pay for only one" I told him I wanted another one and he said we are not giving you another, while talking to him, another customer buying ice cream came up to me and said this manger that was what he did to me the other day. He was very rude, the staff came up and was defending the manager if the owner can see this, I am a business owner myself and know the value of customer service, your current manager is very poor in that area and should be behind scenes not solving any customer issue. Although I have been to this location numerous times, my review is based on the ordering of an ice cream cake. Ordered my daughter's birthday cake online and it couldn't have been easier. You can order their signature cakes or you could create your own, which I did. I ordered the small cake which is supposed to be for 8 people; with generous pieces, I think you can get 6 slices, so 8 seems reasonable. Because it was soo hot outside and we had a 30 minute or more ride home, we ate it in the store. Tip: If you decide to eat in the store, please bring a heavy duty knife. I brought a cake cutting knife and it was like cutting ice with a butter knife ugh. They were kind enough to let me borrow a heavy spatula which worked. After sawing thru.. the ice cream cake was delicious. I ordered a vanilla cake with cake batter ice cream with M&Ms and gummy bears, vanilla icing, Oreos on top and sprinkles on the side. The M&Ms and gummy bear were sporadic which was just right in my opinion. The writing was ok, so if you want something special and extra fancy get over it, it's not happening. Worst ice cream experience i've ever had! People weren't nice. Waited in line for 45 minutes at least. Then when we finally got up to the counter watched the lady at the counter go on her phone didn't bother to even look at us. Everyone else standing around talking while there are at least 5 plus customers in line behind us. It was a problem to even ask for the stuff we needed. Only thing i asked for was a lid. And then, during the foot of snow that came out of the blue (two to three inches forecasted), they kept the store open especially for me and called me to tell me so. Why did it take me so long to find this place? I guess because I am the biggest Soft Serve Fan I know. Well I was surfing Instagram (or scrolling I guess) and came across a pic of their ice cream cupcakes that I had to have and that started my love affair with Cold Stone. I went there looking for the ice cream cupcakes, but once I found out that they didn't sell them individually I was disappointed, as I wasn't sure if I would like them, they weren't as big as I thought and the six pack was $12.99 Good News: I saw a plethora of other tasty desserts! Ohhhh yummy in my tummy. I tried the Lava Cake with Ice cream and whip cream and it was heaven in my mouth. I was soooo warm and the ice cream was so good and even the chocolate shavings were delish! I am not a big fan of cake but darn it that cake was so good I wanted to return the very next day for seconds. My husband had the cookie and ice cream thing and he was done before I was even halfway done. Prices can be expensive depending on what you expect to pay for ice cream, but well worth it. I didn't regret it. Has a seating area and the menu choices are made to order right in front of you. The menu is very "diverse" and the employees are nice. Types of offerings change frequently which can be both good and bad. Wait times can be long with just a few customers in front of you. I had one driver wait 20 minutes at the restaurant for my order but they never started it so he left and a SECOND driver was assigned, waited ANOTHER 20 minutes, and still no order from Cold Stone. Both drivers had to cancel. I called Cold Stone to see what happened and they said they were busy and the driver didn't feel like waiting.
