You would think that cold stone would have better ice cream. Our ice cream was stretched like as if it was a Laffy taffy well eating. It didn't stick to the spoon to eat. It was depressing. Love the ice cream but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. We arrived to have one customer waiting near the register. No one was behind the counter. After several minutes, I asked the customer if anyone was there, and he said he didn't know. I yelled ''Hello'' through the back room door. No one answered. I yelled louder and heard some kind of voice. Finally, the employee came out with a tag, obviously for the customer waiting. It took him 10 minutes to make 2 cups of ice cream. In the meantime another customer came in. After tidying up, he asked what we wanted. My grandson asked for as sample of Oreo Creme'. The empolyee looked in the freezer then looked puzzled. Without a word, he wandered in the back, then came out with apparently was the correct ice cream for the label my grandson had read. He gave him the sample, then proceeded to help the next customer. After a minute with him, he came back to us and finished our order. We were there for 25 minutes, with only one 2 cup order ahead of us. I haven't been to a Coldstone in forever because I am just not an ice cream person usually when it comes to desserts, but the cake batter milkshake has actual yellow cake in it with the cake batter ice cream (made with actual cake mix I believe) and it was sooo good. I was craving ice cream and happened to be near this location and thought I would give it a try. I'm not impressed. We've tried them twice. Both times were disappointing. We first tried them soon after they opened. The ice ream was ok, but the cones tasted old. We thought this was odd when they should be trying to build a customer base. Recently we were really jonesing for root beer floats. We had to wait in line for a while. The line wasn't long it's just that they worked slowly. Finally it was our turn. No they don't do root beer floats. So we went next door to Raley's and got what we needed to make our own. This is one of the best Coldstone locations in town. It's located in a convenient area and they do a great job making their normal items. What really sets them apart is their staff, especially Sam and his polite and courteous service. Their hours are also great as they're one of the few ice cream spots in the area that are open late. This is a message for the manager and I know it's the same Manager from a year ago. I applied a year ago to this location keep in mind that I had already worked on another cold stone location so I had experience. I know how to do the single cup the double cup and the large cups as well as make cones. I was prompt on time and everything, and he was so rude from the second. I stepped in to the point where even his assistant had to step in. A year later, I am now probably making more than he could ever make in his life and I walk in and I see these two poor young ladies working and I actually had a conversation with them and they told me he is still the same way that he is now. Keep in mind going to this location with your children because he does not care about families. He just cares about money. I'm scared to even show pictures, but just so you know under the stone there are maggots hopefully not anymore but at the time I was working there there was and when I walked in, it was not clean looking, and it is all on him his employees are very sweet and prompt. This is not a message for the employees. This is a message for the manager, and I hope to get him fired. Cold stones, as a former employee, I know this, are mainly owned by one manager.
