The cashier was friendly. I craved chocolate chip but they didn't have the flavor. The cashier suggested a vanilla scoop with sprinkled chocolate chips on top. That sounded perfect. I ordered a small waffle cone and it was reasonably priced. After ordering I received the ice cream in less than 10 minutes. It was creamy, the chocolate chips were a good size and the waffle was a good size too. I highly recommend Handel's. Enjoy!

When someone finally picked up at the store, rather than apologize, he told me "well, your order is probably here, so come on in". Updating here: My friend said they ordered the takeout order online, and there was no "Special Hours" posted this morning - Handel's took the order because they didn't update their online availability. It appears they updated the hours listed here this afternoon. We all make mistakes, and Reno store really stepped up and made my day.

It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. We got single scoops for ourselves and kid-sized scoops for the kids, and the employee packed the cups full. Located in the center of the RED next door to Hub Coffee, this ice cream shop is going to be quite busy and was when I was there. They have a big selection of flavors that will please an entire crowd. Which also makes it difficult to choose just one. I guess there will be more visits to get through more flavors. Inside seating is plentiful. A few seats out front and across the street is a small park. Limited street parking. Not a problem for me, I can walk over and walk off my calories.

My favorite is always the custard options. Either chocolate or vanilla. You can really go crazy with the toppings. They have everything! Pricing is based on weight, so you kind of gauge as you go. YB will continue to be a treat staple. I remember when they were just one location in South Reno, and now they have stores all over the place!
