These people are an absolute joke. They are the 'preferred' wedding cake vendor for the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe. We had our wedding there earlier this year and were supposed to have Paris Custom Cakes provide cake and desserts for the reception, as they are the only vendor the Hyatt will allow to provide without an extra cake-cutting fee. During the group menu tasting, Paris Custom Cakes provided desserts but they were flavors I would have never chosen and to be honest, the desserts and cakes they brought to the group tasting were just not very good. We were honest with our coordinator that we weren't impressed and she said no worries, we will work it out prior to your wedding date. I thought our coordinator would take care of everything related to this but about a month and a half before the wedding I contacted Paris Custom Cakes to ask for flavor samples so we could make a final decision, only to be told that Paris Custom Cakes did "not have the capacity to provide us any flavor samplings prior to our wedding date, but would need our order and payment by the end of the week." What? You want me to buy a two thousand dollar cake without even tasting which flavors we want? I wrote them an e-mail, saying that we weren't very impressed with what we've tasted from there so far and would really appreciate if they could put us at ease by letting us taste a sample of the flavors we wanted before making a large commitment, but instead got word back that because they were offended that I didn't like their group tasting samples that they were refusing to bake any cake for our wedding. They took a picture I found and created the most amazing superhero pregnant mama cake ever! People couldn't stop taking pictures.
